Unbelievably disappointed in Country View. Woke up this morning to my cat breathing faster/harder than usual. After explaining his symptoms to whoever answered the phone I tried to schedule an appointment. I was told to wait until next week Friday (6 days) for him to be seen. On a whim I decided to get a second opinion and called the emergency vet who asked to see him immediately. Once we got the emergency room we were told he was in critical condition and would have died from respiratory exhaustion. I’ll never be able to trust Country View to advise/care for my cats ever again. PLEASE for the love of god if you can’t help pets in a life or death situation advise hospitalization instead of inaction.
Everyone at this clinic is so friendly. My family has taken our pets here for years. They always take such good care of the animals.Just an update. We had to put our family dog down today and Dr. Francis was so good at letting us process the decision we were making and having a few minutes to say goodbye. Our dog, Maggie, was always well taken care of at this clinic. Jan. 23, 2021
Extremely considerate of your pet’s wellbeing and comfort. I brought in two stressed and nervous cats, and I’ve never seen a vet more equipped and willing to make the experience as managavle for them as possible. Really went above and beyond, would recommend this clinic to anybody. Very prompt about getting back to you, too!
I have used Country View Veterinary Clinic for several years for my dog. The vets there have always been compassionate and highly professional. They have taken great care of my dog as she has experienced multiple bouts of illness in her senior years. She is 18 years old now. I highly recommend Country View.
We love Country View Vet Clinic! We have been bringing our pets to them for the past 16 years. They take such good care of our animals, are wonderful professionals (even sent us a thoughtful card when it was time to put one of our dogs down), and are responsive when I call frantically with questions about One of my fur babies.
I felt very at ease with this pet clinic. From the moment I stepped in, the place was clean and free of pet smells. The front office staff was friendly and made me feel at ease. Dr. Helpern was professional and very personable. She actually examined my cat. Ive gone to places with my pets and before the Vet even touches my cat they shove a bill in my face for hundreds of dollars. However Country View treated my baby like their baby. They broke down the price of what my cat needed and told me exactly why she needed what they proposed. The Vet told me that she would call later with results from my cats blood work and within an hour she was calling me. with good news thankfully. For the first time I feel that my sick baby will get the help that she needs and deserves. I would recommend this Vet Clinic highly if you care about your beloved pets. The only reason why Ive given 4 stars is that my cat is scheduled for a procedure and once she successfully recovers from the procedure I will add the other star.
Dr. Fantom is awesome! She took a lot of time to explain a bunch of things to me about my dog and reassure me on a number of points I was (unreasonably) concerned about, including explaining what she was looking at and what it meant. I really appreciate her help and compassion!
We dealt with a receptionist whom was quite unpleasant on multiple occasions. My young adult daughter was in tears after trying to get an estimate to ensure she could pay at the time of service. When the same receptionist came to retrieve the pet from the car, she was not wearing a mask and had to get closer then six feet to transfer the cat, defeating the purpose of waiting in car rather than then waiting room. Also, no written instructions were provided for medication use or for pre-surgery restrictions. I would expect better service from one of the most expensive vets in town. We likely go elsewhere for continuing care to avoid dealing with the receptionist.
Even with the changes due to Covid-19, the service and care here is still excellent. Everyone from the front desk to the vet herself, are so caring and helpful. I always feel that my cat is is getting the best medical care and my concerns are addressed and met with respect.
I would not recommend Country View Vet Clinic. They were downright cruel when my beloved 15 years old doxie passed a few weeks back. After Dr Chernok left it became less about our four legged babies and only about how much money they can get (running unnecessary tests that have nothing to do with the problems right in front of their noses). I recommend using U of I Vet Medicine instead.
Countryview Vet Clinic was so wonderful in helping figure out the best way to help our lab with his allergies. Dr. Heldt was so kind, informative, and caring towards our dog. She explained more and gave more treatment options than any other vet we had seen previously. You can tell she truly cares about the work she does and loved on our boy like we do. Even though were just starting our dog on a new treatment and arent sure if it will work, I so appreciate the time and care this clinic took with me and my dog. Thank you so much!
My CKD cat does not like going to the vet, to say the least. He needed blood work done to monitor his status. They let me stay with him while2 they drew the blood. It was not an easy process. They were very patient and their persistence eventually paid off. They have always been very patient an accommodating, with both of us! Their high level of caring is always very evident, and greatly appreciated. I cant say enough about their staff, from the front office to the vet techs to the doctors. Highly recommend them.
Dr Francis is always so great, even despite my dog being an anxious mess every time she comes in. He is so gentle with her and always answers my questions and concerns. The staff is wonderful and always kind. We lost our dachshund a year ago and they were very kind and gave us a room to say goodbye to her and cry over her. Can’t recommend enough!
Dr. Francis was so good with my cat. She is usually very nervous and meows a lot when at the vet, however he made her feel so comfortable she was just melting into him. He also made sure to keep services cost effective. He was very honest about what he thought she needed and what services he didnt think she needed. You can tell he not only truly cares for the pets he sees but also their parents. We will not be going anywhere else.
Our first visit to Country View Veterinary Clinic (Champaign) was this week. We happened to have Dr. Shannon Heldt, and gosh, was she wonderful! She talked with me, explained every single vaccination, gave me options for other tests and medications. The tech that assisted Dr. Heldt was amazing as well (unfortunately, I didnt get her name!). My 90-lb black lab was a bit nervous, as animals tend to be when they visit the vet, but I think my dog thought he was at a massage therapists office. The front office staff is warm and inviting. Overall, an excellent experience. Its about a 40-minute drive for me, but well worth it. We are lifetime patients for sure.
Country View Veterinary Clinic is an amazing place to take your furry family members! Dr Beaumont and his awesome staff have always been there to give guidance, and professional care to all my dogs. Im always impressed with the friendliness, and the time spent with me at my appointments. They never rush your appointment, and no question is ever not answered! Thank You for being a part of our extended family!❤Judy Maxwell
My cats do not typically do well at the vets. One is usually very scared and the other typically scares off the vet by hissing and being uncooperative. I was very happy that they let me hold and comfort my pets while they were getting the examination and therefore could be checked thoroughly. The vet was extremely thorough and explained everything, they did not give unnecessary shots, and explained the cost of an additional testing recommended so that I was aware and could do those things in my time frame.
Ive got a new puppy and took her to Country view Veterinary. The person I got the puppy from had her seen by her vet earlier. I was impressed by Country View when they said that she didnt need anything else as the previous vet had taken care of everything. HONEST! I like that. Went for the 2nd visit yesterday and the front staff again were pleasant and explained things when I asked them. So far..... so good
Care for my pet was poor. He spent 3 days in boarding and hasnt been himself since. When we picked him up he had two unexplained cuts on his head. Also it feels that everytime we take him there, the staff ALWAYS tries to sell you something else. Almost like a car salesman.
Front desk ladies were very nice and helpful! The doctor was polite and took good care of our puppy. We called other vets and they all wanted to charge us a ridiculous amount of money to take a few stitches out, but not here they did it absolutely free! This will be our vet from now on :)
If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. Ive been taking my dogs to Country View for 20 years. They are absolutely top notch -- correct diagnoses, gentle care, professional, thorough, generous, and simply wonderful. I wouldnt think of using anyone else. I cannot recommend them enough. I feel as though we are in very good hands with the vets as well as the supporting staff. My dogs are family, and Country View treats them as such!
The vets here and at the Tolono locations are always professional and courteous. They dont talk down to you, they make sure you understand everything before you leave and make plenty of time for appointments. Theyre very thorough, from the vet techs at the front desk to the vets themselves, they make sure to do everything needed to ensure your pets health.
I cat was having a serious problem and I just moved to the area a few days prior and I havent found a new vet for her yet. I called Country View Vet Clinic and they were able to see her in right away. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they were able to contact my old vets office and get her records. The vet was very kind and was able to treat her right away and I was able to pick her up a few hours later. They are slightly pricey but it is worth it for the care and services they provide. I would definitely recommend this place for your furry friends!
I have been bringing my pets to Country View for years. Currently I have 2 frenchies and they LOVE going to Country View. The staff are all kind and courteous and I know when I board my dogs there they are getting the best possible care. I dont worry about them when I am out of town. I would definitely recommend Country View to anyone looking for a great vet clinic.
Very friendly and professional staff. They used a smaller gauge needle when giving my dog shots, and they distracted him with squeeze cheese and he didnt even notice the shot until a few seconds after it happened! I forgot to arrange to have money when I was there and they simply let me come back and pay later that day after signing a promissory note, and they were very nice about it. Overall welcoming and expedient service. I will not be changing vets any time soon.
I have been going to Countryview for a couple of years. I have used their vet & boarding services. I have 3 dogs. One needed emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction. Sami received excellent care. I had no money & they worked out a payment plan for me. I just took my elderly dog, Biscuit in & saw Dr Beaumont. He was very thorough with Biscuit & made me feel less worried about symptoms he’d been having. The boarding was great, it was the first time they had ever been boarded. They let my 2 older dogs stay in the same kennel together as they get very worried when apart. I like the online portal as well.
We dont live in Champaign so, we dont use this vet clinic on a regular basis. However, our Jazzy had a horrible ear infection and, our vet was booked solid on Saturday. I found some really good reviews as I searched the web for a vet that could squeeze our Jazzy and I in on short notice. Country View got her in right away. The staff and Dr were very attentive and put Jazzys stress level first and foremost. Being in a new atmosphere and around people she didnt know on top of being uncomfortable from the ear infection she was a bit stressed out. They took their time and even examined her in the chair meant for the puppy parents to sit in. Thank you all so much! Jasmine is feeling much better!
Everyone here is amazing. Clean facilities and rooms, and they treat the animals with so much love and care. Dr. Francis always gives us honest advice and doesn’t push services that aren’t necessary. Prices are always fair and straightforward. Couldn’t recommend enough. Ollie loves them :)
My in-laws have taken there dog to Country View Veterinary and boarding for years. Now we have a kitten and they are very good.!We have had our cat for over a year now, and we have been to Country View a number of times. We are very happy and comfortable with the loving care we receive.
Staff friendly with scheduling, able to get my dog in right away, not a long wait for Dr. Beaumont, spent considerable time discussing concerns and called me in 2 days as promised to inform me of his research results for my dogs food, and make other recommendations. Very satisfied!
My husband and I took our dog Chief there on 07/01/17. He had something going on with the inside of his mouth. We saw Dr. Gregory Chernok and he was absolutely amazing! He was very calm, cool, and collected. He took such great care in the treatment of our dog. We would highly recommend this Dr. and the entire clinic to anyone. The staff is always very friendly as well.Thank you again!!
We recently moved to the area and needed a vet/boarding facility for our very nervous, older, diabetic lab, Max A friend recommended Country View so I gave them a call. While Max was being boarded we had them do an exam, give him a bath and trim his nails. I received a call from Dr. Chernok, while we were away, saying that Max was doing great which made me feel better, as I always worry about him, because he is so nervous. The entire staff that I dealt with was very friendly and seemed truly concerned about Max. We have found our new Veterinary Clinic!
I went to Country View for years, theyd come recommended. I stopped going here after they performed a surgery on my cat. Country View treated both of us poorly. He was given anesthetic early and was disoriented and vocal after the surgery. The staff was so scared of him they couldnt even get him into his pet carrier when I came to pick him up. They made me do it. My 22lb scared cat had pushed himself to the back of the 5ft high cage theyd put him in. I wasnt tall enough to see him. I have never seen him so upset. When we got home he bounced his carrier around like a Tasmania devil wanting to be free. For the follow up and stitches removal, the vet insisted I be present even though Id already planned to have a friend take him because of my work schedule. I will not be going back.
I noticed that someone wrote that they had been taking their pets to Country View for 25 years. I have been taking my pets there for 45 years. Im working with the second generation of veterinarians. Im always pleased with the pleasant staff and the professional doctors. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
We have taken all of our pets here for the past 7 years. All of the staff are wonderful and so nice. I dont feel so bad when I have to board my dog there either, because she actually gets excited to go. Services are a little on the pricey side, but I think the service is worth it.
I brought my cat Chester to Country View for the first time yesterday. The front staff were very friendly, attentive and worked me in a same day visit. Chester was treated by Dr. Francis, whom was very kind to both myself and my cat. I felt throughout Chesters exam that he talked to me instead of at me. He listened to the information I had to offer about chesters ailment and addressed me on my level. I didnt once feel that he tried to over sell me on anything. I thought he addressed all my concerns, nothing more or less. I was very pleased with our visit. We definitely have found our new vet in the C-U area!
I recently took my Yorkshire terrier in because he was attacked by a pitbull. The droctors and were so nice and patient with answering our questions and walking us through everything with our dog. In the end they saced his life when we all thought it wasnt possible. I highly recommend them for your pet needs!
My dog as been going to Country View for 12 years. He ran away and was hit by a car on Friday. When we finally found him at the Vet Med Clinic on Saturday, we called Country View and they squeezed him into their packed Saturday schedule, took xrays, blood work, gave him fluids and the meds he needed to keep him calm and healthy. Yes, the bill was expensive but you get what you pay for. He was monitored, treated well, we got excellent instructions on how to care for him and he is recovering well from a very traumatic experience.
They are very friendly and always try to squeeze me in if I need to come in a rush for something critical/emergency for my cat. The prices are reasonable and the vet that always sees my cat is very friendly and patient, always willing to explain and re-explain things to me.
Country View Veterinary clinic has always provided the highest standard of care for our pets. The staff and doctors always approach our crotchety cats and dog-reactive dogs with the utmost sensitivity and respect and as a result we always leave with accurate lab work and exam feedback. Abbie, Brooke, Liz, Brady, Christian, Sarah, Hannah, Amy and other technians are irreplaceable, and Dr.s Heldt, Beaumont, and Francis are truely top notch. All the while, Tami, Angie, Kate, Kyle, and others help hold down the front of the house like champions. Thank you CVVC!
Had to take our grand k-9 here after being strangled by a k-9 pole while being attacked by a pitbull. They got him and immediately and doctor James did a wonderful job. He took care of his wounds, and gave a steroids for the cough. That and pain medication made it possible for him to breathe easier and be able to rest to recover. You can not go wrong With any of the 4 Beaumont animal clinics .
I brought my 20 year old cat into Country View due to multiple problems. When the vet came in my cat was calm but she had her assistant grab my cat by the back of the neck and try to hold her down. She is 20! Her bones and muscles hurt and we have never grabbed her in that way so obviously she was upset. My cat does not have claws and they were reacting to her as if this old cat was going hurt them. In the middle of the vet trying to figure out how to handle her, she said to her assistant that they need to be careful about rabies. I then stated to her that I have had her for 20 years and she does not go outside and that I can assure you that she does not in fact have rabies. The vet snapped back at me with the response, if i have to get animal control involved with this situation, I can assure you it will be a big deal. I asked her if it would be okay for me to hold her while she tried to get her heartbeat and such and she said that there is no way she would allow that. After a couple more attempts to manhandle my old harmless cat she said that she was uncomfortable with doing the exam without putting her under anesthetics. When she finally let go of my animal, she fell of of the table which is pretty high off of the ground for a cat with bad legs. I immediately shot up to go comfort her and the vet said to leave her alone. By this point I was pretty upset at the whole situation. She then went on to tell me that my cat bit her stethescope and that she probably ruined it which was worth $300!!!! I dont care that her stethescope was ruined, it is part of her job! I was concerned about giving my cat anesthetics at such an old age and I tried to speak with her about that and asked if there were any suggestions that she may have thought might be wrong with the symptoms I had given and she repeated that she could not tell me without the testing which came out to be an estimate of $533. She then left the room and had a person from the front desk come in and tell me that I owe $45 for the exam. Are you kidding me??!!! What exam? The exam you told me you couldnt do? They were not concerned about my animal or myself as the owner and were only out to get more money. I will NEVER bring my animal back to Country View.
Friendly staff, fair prices, and quality care - youll find them all at Country View. While other clinics around town will spend maybe a few minutes with your animal, Country View provides a much more thorough examination, and their expert staff are well qualified to help you decide on the care in your pets best interest.
My Kitty Smokey, got very sick and diagnosed with a fatal illness. They took good care of him there and helped me through one of the hardest moments in my life. Very caring people. I wish it hadnt ended the way it did, but I know they did everything they could to diagnose and save him.
Let me tell you about this clinic...We had recently taken our dog here after she started panting extremely loud and fast and would not move. The dr told us that after scanning her that she had pus and bleeding in her stomach and that they needed to do surgery on her to see if they can drain out the pus and to see where the leak is coming from, and that this was life threatening to her. They gave us a quote for $1800 and charged us over $200 for the visit and some meds. They would not work out a payment plan either with us for the surgery, so we said we needed to think about this and do some research, but we wanted to schedule the surgery for the next day. They sent us home with antibiotics. I called my Aunt right after this and since she is part of a dog rescue group, I knew she would be able to tell me what I should do and she told me to take her to a different clinic just to get a second opinion and referred us to VCA Heritage Animal Hospital to see Dr. Dust. They got us in right away. Dr. Dust was not available so we saw another Dr and she scanned her and.... she had a really bad bladder infection......... WHAT??!?!?!?! This place (Country View) was going to cut open my dog just for a bladder infection?!??!! Well we got a third opinion just to make sure and yep bladder infection. So 1 star doesnt even fit them. Also VCA said dont ever not bring your dog in just because you dont have money. We will work with you! Now that (VCA) is a place I trust with my dog. We also got the same thing done here as Country View did and some meds and only spent $100. Cant say enough good things about VCA. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS TO COUNTRY VIEW. I have heard stories after the fact about Country View and I believe they are shady more than ever now!

2022-01-04Dr. Fantom was always so good with my Buffy. Not long after we started going to them for her vet care, she was diagnosed with cancer and my family made the decision to put her down. The staff was amazing and gentle on that day with us. I will be going back with my next cat. Photos are of her paw print memorial and her ashes that they gave me.

2022-03-27I cant recommend Country View highly enough! We have been taking our pets to them for years and have always had great care and service. Dr. Heldt is especially awesome. She ALWAYS answers all my questions, spends plenty of time with us during our appointments and is very personable!

2021-08-30Always have concern for my dogs well being. Have been a client for six years with our Doxie, Oscar, and two with our Chi, Sandie. Recently, rather than having Sandie wait a week to be seen, the doctor, upon hearing what was going on, found a way to squeeze her in the next day. Always professional and caring about my fur babies. Whats more, they both like the staff .

2022-04-15I have taken my pets here for years under Dr Francis and when he moved on, Dr Fantom. Both vets are consummate professionals and extremely knowledgeable. The staff is perpetually kind and willing to answer questions and my cats have recieved an excellent level of care here no matter their needs.

2020-10-12Just rescued an older male chihuahua. I brought him to see Dr. Beaumont. So far so good. Follow up in a couple weeks. New to Champaign with very special chihuahua. The Country View Vet. Clinic got us right in on a Saturday for exam and much needed prescription. Dr. Beaumont seems very kind and compassionate as was the front office staff. Looking forward to a hopefully long relationship as Chiquitas new doctor.

2022-04-06The vet gave us very kind and thorough guidelines for our kitty. They avoid over-examination but give some helpful suggestions.

2019-10-18The staff is so friendly and caring and got me an appt. that day when my cat was sick. Dr. Francis took so much time with Cleo and was sincerely concerned about what the cause of her problem was. He also followed up the next day to see how Cleo was doing. After he knew the prescribed treatment and medication was successful, he provided instructions on what to do going forward to prevent the condition from returning. Couldnt be more pleased with the care Cleo received! (Their pricing is also very reasonable.)

2021-07-28I had a good experience at this vet office. We took our kitty for a check up because she was coughing for a week.Dr. Fantom did a thorough exam and gave us the diagnosis. She took the time to listen and answered our questions. Also, the receptionist who took our call was very empathetic. One star was taken off because the treatment room was not clean. I saw other cats hairballs on the floor with dusts and a dirty towel (looked like it has been used) hanging next to the sink..Other than that, everything was great!

2021-03-14I highly recommend Country View Vet to anyone in the area. Dr. Francis is amazing at what he does (and they also have a great boarding facility). It is clear that Dr. Francis loves what he does because he is very thorough in his evaluations and is very willing to discuss any results with owners at length. Not once did he make us feel like a burden when asking our many questions. He also performed two surgeries on our dog quickly and confidently (removing a tongue growth and removing an eyelid growth) that other vets would likely have referred out.If we still lived in the area (or the state), we would still be seeing Dr. Francis at Country View Vet Clinic for the amazing services and care that he provided.

2019-05-07This was our first visit with Jensen to Country View. We were greeted with a smile and received a warm welcome as new clients! Jensen loved the attention especially the extra pats on the head. Dr. Francis and staff handled Jensen with gentle and reassuring no fear care! Very impressed with the cleanliness of the practice.
