I went in to return a $40 foundation that severely irritated my skin (I even had a picture of it) and was told that because I didnt have the receipt they would only give me the last sale price which was ONE PENNY! Has anyone ever been able to buy a $40 cosmetic for one cent at Ulta? The manager was completely unconcerned and gave me a total canned apology with nothing she can do attitude.
I am incredibly disappointed with Ulta I walked in hoping for them to help me with my brows. They were done with one brow but when they were doing the other brow they automatically told me i couldnt test out any products or apply them on my face because i was too young. My friend was swatching everything but she did not get yelled at by employees like i did. Even though she is younger than me. I am a very experienced person in makeup with having my own makeup page this truly disappoints me. They were not telling the other kids anything that they were telling me about testing the makeup. Please get rid of this rule it is very unreasonable.
I like the products here but some of the staff members are a bit rude. I got a haircut once and the person cutting my hair was very nice but the cashier was very judgmental/rude for some reason. I dont know if this was just for me or if it was just the way I comprehended our conversation but it was just something I noticed. They are also very short-tempered when you ask them anything about their salon pricing.
Customer service is incredible. Walked in just before close, and the staff were still the most friendly, helpful and enthusiastic people I have ever encountered at a beauty store. The manager took the time to check that I was doing ok even though she was trying to complete another task, and even gave me a kind of inside tip that the products I was looking at would go on sale soon.
I cant say enough praises for Megan, I have been looking for a stylist who could just get my natural hair straight in Naperville for the longest and finally found someone. She came highly recommended and she did not disappoint. Her personality was amazing we talked and laughed the whole time. Will definitely be back.
Very attentive staff. The training they receive is evident and quite refreshing. You will be well cared for and not misdirected on product. Ive shopped at this location several times and have always been pleased.

Visited this location the other day, the staff were very friendly and helpful, something Im not used to at most Ulta stores. They didnt seem to have a ton of business which is great for me, they had two large clearance sections (awesome!).
Went here to get my make up done for prom...worst experience ever...don’t do it.The person I was scheduled to do it with was with another costumer who ate 45 minutes into my time. They had another staff worker start my make up and by the time they did it. It was aweful and nothing I had asked for. Left after crying because I had to leave for prom in 20 minutes and I had no make up on. I had to take it all off and do my make up in my dates car. Was a very frustrating and sad experience. Nearly ruined my night. Hopefully the pictures come out okay I was barely wearing any make up (literally just mascara and eyeshadow)
Everyone at Alta, is most helpful and courteous. Its always a pleasure to shop at Ulta!
Worst customer service. These girls know nothing about makeup. Literally zero knowledge. And not very helpful.
They are all about false advertisement. I was the first person there on their grand opening. they said the first person would get $100 but i ended up getting a $5 gift card. Total rip off. And the manager didnt even know her own deals/specials going on.
This ulta location has very attentive staff.I was greeted as soon as i walked in the door even though the cashiers were keeping busy, they made sure to say hello. As i walked down the store Yazmin asked if there was anything i was looking for and she suggested a great product from Clinique. I’m very glad i visited this location.

Reia with Benefit and Stephanie with Clinique are both AMAZING! I typically do shop at ULTA for their sales and deals.... However, until today I had never experienced great service. Reia and Stephanie changed that. They went above and beyond helping me find the perfect products for my dry skin. Reia also did a spectacular job on my brows. I will definitely be going back to these two. If youre looking for a place that has beyond exceptional customer service with true professionals and great prices.... Come to the downtown Naperville location of ULTA!
Staff is very friendly and attentive. The store is smaller than other ultas Ive been to. It has everything though. Cozy feel.
Smaller selection than most Ultas, but the salon has some good people in it. I like Triggs a lot.
Very clean. Fast service. I found everything I needed, all clearly marked by brand names.
Small store compare to other Ulta beauty stores so, you will not get very wide range of stuff.
I have never been so turned off by STAFF.....going forward it will be SEPHORA in downtown Naperville for me. The store was relatively empty - now I know why!
When we got in the store, we were trying on hair extensions, and the lady with short blonde hair, kicked us out for interrupting other customers, and threatened to call the police on us, she was very short -tempered, if youre planning on buying beauty products at ulta, go to another store, this store has very poor customer service, it isnt worth it
We were just minding our own buisness, when this short blonde haired lady yelled at us to get out and she threatened to report us. Do not go here under any circumstances.
I actually loathe coming into this specific location. Every single time I have been in here the staff was unfriendly, unhelpful, & overall just rude. Even if I am already in the area, I would rather drive out of my way to another location.

2021-09-01Never actually been to this location as my appointment for a formal hair style was canceled 2 days before my event. I confirmed my appointment and what I wanted (curls and a ponytail) on Monday the 30th and was told cool bring a picture and Emily can do that. Then today, the first of September I get a call at 1:00 pm that Emily does not feel comfortable doing a formal hairstyle. I mean seriously 2 days before my event!!??? This Emily should not be able to call herself a hair stylist if she can’t do simple curls and then put those into a ponytail! Also it’s pretty shameful that she couldn’t even call me herself to cancel and had someone else do her dirty work. I was also told I couldn’t even reschedule with someone else they had no other openings at the time I needed, but please go to one of our other locations. Nope, won’t be doing that. Scheduled myself with an actual SALON that was able to help last notice. I spend too much money at Ulta for this kind of poor customer service. Will definitely be taking my makeup needs elsewhere!

2021-12-18This place has such bad products! I tried a Kyle lip kit in my hang and didn’t come off for 2 weeks. I had a stain on my hand when I was at prom and my date thought I had a condition with my body and broke up with me.

2021-05-02I was scheduled for balayage and haircut. My stylist (Emily) was inexperienced and could not advice me correctly on the color. She spent 4.5 hours and could not even fit in my scheduled haircut. Most salons give a cut first and then color. She even overcharged me. When I complained to the hair stylist manager they offered $15 refund for which I would have to go back into the store. Ridiculous experience. Very disappointed. I accidentally called the fox valley location to complain for poor service and they couldn’t stop apologizing and were ready to offer a full refund for poor service. This location on the other hand handled it poorly with no apology. Best to avoid the salon.

2021-06-26I returned 2 products , 1 unopened and 1 used once. This was way within 30 days , not even close to the 60 days and with my ulta rewards account tied to the purchase. The cashier “katayoun” in transaction 2782 on today’s date failed to give me a full refund. I was denied a full refund because I didn’t have my card? Which I lost? Which was explained to the employee. My boyfriend then offered to have his card inserted because she gave the reason of “the card needing to be inserted to get money back”. I had my Apple wallet with the exact card on my phone as well. I work retail. She refused and did the least in accommodating a customer who lost her wallet and asked her boyfriend to return an item for her. Seems very judgmental and not customer friendly. Ulta us KNOWN for their return policy. Just....YUCK. I’m never going back. Calling corporate as well. Don’t have her work front end cashier with a bad attitude like that on a Saturday morning.

2021-08-01I am soooo disappointed with my hair service. Although my hairstylist was very nice and friendly, it doesn’t seem like she has enough experience.I came in with platinum blonde hair and asked for a deep chocolate brown and instead came out with black hair. During the process she kept asking her coworker what colors she should mix which should have been my cue to leave but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. After my service was done and I explained my hair was much too dark, my hairstylist recommended I take a hot shower and go under the sun for it to lighten up but I really think she completely missed the mark on the fact that my hair color was completely off.Ulta should consider hiring people with more experience. Below are pictures of what I came in with, what I asked for, and what I got. Terribly disappointed.

2017-05-08They redid the store and opened last week so I came to check it out. Super disappointed. They got rid of all of the affordable cruelty free brands except for NYX and Makeup Revolution, and even those were skimpy. And zero sign of Essence/Clarice. In addition to that, they had little of anything else. I searched the whole store for a dang claw hair clip and found nothing. Seriously? Store looks nice, but not impressed. The only reason I didnt give one star is because they were out of the color lipstick I wanted and one of the girls grabbed me one from the back. Save yourself the time though and just go to the one on Aurora Ave.
