So fantastic to have world class coffee and incredible baked goods just down the street. Wanted to thank you for how you have handled the pandemic...pivoting.at ever return to ensure that both your customers and your staff are protected and that its still convenient to get your high-quality product. Adding the app, requiring and even providing masks which cant be.cheap), and ensuring that everybody is respectful of each other in your shops is part of what makes me want to go there again and again.
When were driving through Bloomington-Normal, well go a little out of our way to one of the Coffee Hound locations for a cup of their excellent coffee (usually Americanos) and sometimes fortify it with a delicious pastry (try a puptart). The roast is fruity, robust and rewarding. Itll warm you up better than anything next to the Interstate
The branch with the slowest service ever. There might be 4-5 people behind the counter but only 1 would be filling the orders. Doesn’t it make sense to prioritize the waiting customers instead of fidgeting with things back there. It might take a solid quarter hour to get a single coffee. Highly inconvenient if you are on the go.Update: Visited again after Covid. I wish I could give it another 1-star. Long line of people waiting to receive their orders. No name is taken when the order is given so people jump at each other’s order, fighting over whose order is what. Staff looking lost. Total chaos. After 25 minutes of waiting, I finally managed to get a simple coffee. I have the worst experience whenever I visit this branch; I do not know what is wrong with it compared to the Uptown’s.
Been coming here consistently for close to 6 years now and it is an excellent local coffee shop. Staff is always very friendly and most importantly their coffee is very high quality. Would recommend their drip coffee (Red Dog) or House Cortado. Plenty of space to sit down and drink some coffee while getting some work done.
Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. After we had gotten our order, one of the staff helped another customer choose a coffee. The baked goods were ginormous, which threw me off, but looked really good. 10/10 will be returning when I have the opportunity to do so.
Love the Coffee Hound!! Their atmosphere is inviting, their coffee is superb and their baked goods are amazing! If you’re wanting to make a quick stop for coffee on a Saturday morning (especially in the summer) go somewhere else because the line is out the back of the shop! That speaks to how good the coffee is because people are willing to wait for it, but just know that ahead of time! 🤣 I also love that they finally have a rewards program!
Coffee is good but staff was pretty rude to a customer. I entered to find a mother and her adorable toddler daughter laughing and enjoying the day. Just being happy. Then to hear the barista mention to another that “all that jumping around was giving her an anxiety attack”. Which was fine! In a forward facing job like that it tends to happen but most people power through it and put on a smile for the company image. Not this one. When the mother approached to place her order the barista asked that she keep her child from moving around too much as it was upsetting her. The look on the mother’s face said it all yet she didn’t want to make a scene so she just accepted the criticism. Train your forward facing staff to leave their problems at the door. It’s work and that was inappropriate
My favorite coffee shop in town. The atmosphere and WiFi are both great and it’s on my favorite street in town. It’s really popping on Saturday mornings in the summer-you won’t be able to find a seat. The coffee is good not great-not because of lack of skill or care, just very fruity and acidic compared to more earthy coffees.
Best coffee in town—since moving back to BloNo, we have switched our fancy coffee habit from the big chain stores to Coffee Hound and have never looked back. I love their curbside option for when we have the kiddo in the car and when we just want to avoid entering any store due to COVID concerns. It’s super convenient.
This is a lovely local coffee house. The offerings are pretty much what youd expect (coffee and espresso drinks and pastries) but everything is really well done and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Today I had a Mexican mocha and orange chocolate chip scone. A well done scone is a thing of wonder, and this one was very well done. Ive been to the Coffee Hound in Normal too. I like them both, but I like the one in bloomington just a tiny bit more because I love the old building that its in and the beautiful old tile floor.
Its still our fave shop to stop at in this region, but lately theyve had some really obnoxious staff. They tried to tell my husband how to make a mocha before they had a chance to botch it in a condescending tone. He was a barista too, when he was in college and had to explain it to the jerk behind the counter. We almost abandoned this place because of that guy and a couple of similarly rude employees, but will try again, since staff like that may not last.
Loved my almond/honey natural cookie and the Earl Grey tea!! But they didnt have basic black ice tea and sounded surprised when my husband asked for it. They said they could make it and they did, but it was a bit strange that a coffee/tea place didnt have something this common. Anyway, loved the building and the logo :)
This is my favorite coffee place. I always stop in after bike rides and the staff are incredibly friendly and start to know you by name after a few times. Their prices are par for the course and they have a lot of really great beverages to choose from. There is a real dedication to quality, as such its not lightning fast service, but its worth the brief wait.
Bike Shop Location.Female at counter has long braids.Watched her Drag braids through everyones order. No one behind counter ever washed hands. Health Dept Would Love this place!!!Add the Only Whole Milk. and no Sugar free favorings. Why? Looked like shop had room for one extra Milk in cooler.Go to the Coffee Hound Uptown instead.

2022-07-10Stopped by on our route to Chicago for an iced matcha latte & a bite to eat. The decor is super cute and I enjoyed looking at the art while I waited. About 10-12 people were in line ahead of me when I arrived but the line moved pretty quickly so it was only a 10min wait to order and another 4-5min to receive my order.I was going to try the avocado toast but the I saw it being made while waiting in line— eggs (hard boiled), avocado smashed up, and bacon were on the counter in plastic bins (possibly on ice? I couldn’t see exactly) and the toast was assembled on the counter. Didn’t look too appealing to me so opted to just stick to the matcha. I asked for the ice in a separate cup so my matcha didn’t get watered down while I ate breakfast (elsewhere) and they happily obliged. The matcha latte was delicious! Nice and cold even w/o the ice. And just as good once I dumped the ice inside.I stopped by one of the gender neutral bathrooms while waiting for my order and it was very clean, decorated well, but not well stocked. I used up the last tiny bit of toilet paper (literally 4 squares) that were left. Thankfully I had some options in my bag.

2022-02-21A must go when we are in Bloomington! Not only is the coffee and atmosphere great, but they serve a mean avacado toast! We always have to pick up a bag of coffee for home, cant wait to go back!

2019-05-28A wonderful new selection of tea Coffee Hound, all 3 locations in Bloomington Normal, are great. The Baristas are all highly trained, and their espresso drinks reflect this. You can get a wonderful variety of espresso drinks, their own roasted coffee and Specialty coffees in collaboration with White Oak Brewery, Nitro, a wonderful new selection of Teas, a wonderful red tiger chai and smoothies and much more. They have a great selection of In-House made pastries. They also have in house made bread for toast, and a delicious avocado toast. My favorite is their house latte, which is a miel, honey and cinnamon.
