Been going here since 2013, customer service is great. I enjoy the dark peaceful pedi room. Minnie been my tech about 7-8 years and she’s a doll! If I have any issues with my feet/hands chipping/breaking(whether my fault or product fault), I simply go back and it gets fixed ASAP by my tech and if she’s busy Andy takes care of me.
When I visited the first time for a nail repair, Minnie was GREAT! I couldnt wait to come back. Came back with my daughters and my service was horrible. My pedicure was rushed and incomplete. There was polish everywhere, and wasnt neat at all. So I had to wait over 45 minutes for someone to come and correct the hideous work performed. By the time it was corrected, another 45 minutes passed and now I didnt have time to get my nails done. (Which was probably a good thing)I was really looking forward to working with Minnie. She did a nice job on my nails.*Do not recommend*
So I got my nails done a week ago, and I go in my purse to take something out and the whole acrylic nail came off. And I’m observing my other nails and I notice they’re all ready to pop off my nails. I paid 55 dollars for these. When I went in to get my money back or for them to atleast fix them they straight up told me it was going to be ANOTHER $55. Overprice for low quality product.
I thought the price was too high for the service that I received, technician was abrupt & borderline rude. I was blamed for her mistakes & got a poor response from her when I asked that she repair my nails that she messed up! My mothers nails looked like an inexperienced person did them as well. Apparently if they dont know you well enough, you are treated differently. I will not be returning.
I was so very happy with my service today. Everybody was so welcoming and very friendly. The atmosphere is very nice the second you walk in. Andy did a phenomenal job on my neon smoke nails. I will definitely be coming back. Thanks again so much for also doing such an amazing job on my niece’s nails. She is in love with them and they are gorgeous!
I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE A 0-STAR RATING.RIDICULOUSLY PRICEY.Absolutely horrible job the technician did on my nails, his technique to apply acrylic was horrible, he literally just patted it on to my nail and my whole finger for that matter. The application of the nail glue to the nails was horrible as well, he didn’t bother checking to see if my skin had adhered to the glue, the technician seemed to be in a hurry to leave somewhere else, the service was just horrible. The whole time he kept having trouble with his drill, they didn’t have the colors I had originally picked out, NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY GOING HERE.This place doesn’t even have sinks for you to rinse your hands out afterwards.A WASTE OF MONEY.I paid $48 for this garbage.I’ve paid 35 dollars for a full no chip set before at other locations, never going back.
Too expensive...50 dollars for a 20 min pedicure only water no soap soak, no sugar scrub no lotion no massage... seriously! Just cause I got no chip it was 25.00 on top of 25 basic pedicure... the most basic ive ever had.. so be cautious .of choosing this. 50 dollars for gel no chip fill in when most places in oak lawn charge 35.00 ... they really need to make you feel good about those prices.. just saying!
Andy is the best! I can literally show him any design from Pinterest and he will duplicate. He’s always on time and ready for my appointment. It’s also not impossible to book him with short notice because he’s so flexible. Everyone in the shop is professionaland you’re greeted immediately. Go here!
I called to make an appointment for myself and my sister with Kevin and Tina. We get to our appointment only to find out they had two other people scheduled for the exact same time. I explained I called the night before and even the day of to come in 30min earlier. Kevin right away said I wasnt here yesterday and asked who did I speak with? I explained I didnt know, Tina came and apologized but at that point it was too late. This was my first and last time at this establishment. Very unfortunate that you lost two great customers due to your poor ability to schedule appointments accurately.
Went in as a walk in client, my usual place was closed today. This place is following great Covid guidelines and cleanliness. Nancy did my pedicure and exceeded my expectations. If you’re wondering: yes they use liners and yes they have partitions between the chairs. Overall great first experience!!
My experience at City Nails and Spa today was definitely five star worthy. I am very picky when I get my nails done and almost always have complaints, after going to City Nails, I have none😊 I came in with badly bitten nails and my nail techs (Andy and Tina) still managed to give me a beautiful set of dip powder nails. They were very patient and accommodating to my requests, this is my new nail place for sure, I will never go anywhere else✨ (I paid about $50 for my set and it took about 2 hours) Highly recommend
I wanted a nice pedicure after taking care of my own during quarantine. Kelly was very kind and did a great job, especially with my cuticles. No pain or aggressive nipping around the area, exactly what I wanted!Feet were exfoliated perfectly, just enough. I got a milk and honey pedicure, it was a nice upgraded service. The only thing I would suggest is a bigger pedicure cart or a side cart for the nail technicians. She had to put some items on the floor after use and that’s not appropriate or sanitary.
I had a basic pedicure it was rushed, the tech yelled a conversation with one of the other employees. In between she tried to upscale me...while hurriedly brandishing sharp tools near me. Not relaxing at all. She didn’t even ask what shape I wanted do I didn’t get a shape, just roughly filed nails with a messy paint job.
Tony was great! He was very meticulous with my princess pedicure and took his time. The atmosphere was pretty nice, but looked a little cluttered. My only complaint was the price ($35-$37 for a good pedicure when I usually pay $25), but I’d go back and recommend Tony if a friend was looking for a good pedicure!
City Nails has great customer service! The most helpful and polite receptionist, Ray, working the front desk and my absolutely amazing nail tech, Andy! I make an appointment with the very talented Andy (also owner) every two weeks and refuse to let anyone else touch my nails. He takes his time, makes you feel like a diva, and i never leave disappointed. I have been going to him for about 6mths and I always have long nails with detailed, colorful nail art. He NEVER misses a beat!
The total for my service today was 68! Nails 28 dollars for no color and gel which was okay! SUPPOSEDLY 40 for eyebrows and lashes! I was told one thing by someone else and another when I end up paying! First of all the place i normally go to is temporary closed & just picked this place near my mom. The lashes is doable but the other place does a much better job for 20dollars which I paid 30 at this place & 10 for eyebrows that one side is thicker than the other smfh. I DEFINITELY WONT BE RETURNING! As I paid another girl came in to see how much the same service & she turned right back out the door. Should have quested their prices first! These nail shops charge these ridiculous prices for not worth it service they provide!
Tried this place twice. First time the pedicure room experience was great but the no chip manicure was rushed. However my daughter was very happy with her manicure and the special attention to detail by a younger employee on a design she had chosen. So we tried it again last Thursday. Just no chip manicures. We were super rushed to pick colors less than 5 minutes after we arrived. It was hours before closing, there was time, so we felt as if we were a bother. My daughter got the same lady I had the 1st time and felt rushed through the process. My lady skipped steps, didnt give the curing machine enough time to seal the polish and proceeded to smudge one of my nails with a hot wash cloth when she realized she hadnt asked me to wash off all the dust from the sanding. Prior to the nail polish being added (which she complained about me choosing 2 colors), I asked her to make the nails evenly matched on both hands. Her reaction was one of annoyance and impatience and barely tried to do as I asked. Today, Wednesday, 6 days since the appointment, a second nail has chipped (the first was just after 4 days). Normally these manicures last me almost 3 wks. I appreciate the long hours they must work but it is their chosen work and common sense should encourage them to do their best to keep customers and get referrals. If they are so short on time, then they should work by appointment only instead of doing shotty work because in the end, there are plenty of other places to get mani-pedis!
Terrible experience. The professional assigned to me was full of anxiety, wouldnt stop talking to the other professional. It seemed that she was upset about something. She insisted that no chip would ruin my nails. Im 44 years old, I think I know something about my nails. She was non stop talking, didnt put top coat on toes until I haD to ask her for it. I stopped in because I was visiting mom at Advocate and in area. Final results, my nails are brittle, the no chip has come off and I was just there Wed. Disappointed, used to be a quality place. Maybe it is, she was just a bit angry.
I didn’t like this place at all.1. The lady who did my nails didn’t do my nail paint as I wanted and kept telling me that the color (she had) is the best.2. , she took less than 15 mins to do my nails.3. I could literally see that the edges of my bails were not done.4. I asked her the difference between chip vs no chip and she literally said I AM DONE I CAN NOT TELL YOU AGAIN. And i felt so embarrassed for asking. Even tho i told her it was my first time getting my bails done.5. *MY NAILS CAME OFF THE VERY SECOND DAY*6. Me and my sisters got literally the same nails and she paid $32, and the lady who did my nails charged me $37(which i assume she charged me the tip without asking).DO NOT GO HERE, they’re rude and mean. I HAD MY WORST EXPERIENCE HERE. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN! I WASTED MY MONEY, SAVE YOURS!
I’m upset. i got my GEL ACRYLIC NAILS and pedicure done on Monday. Today is Thursday. Gel nails for 53. Pedicure for 23. The pedicure immediately started to chip literally hours after i left. The gel nails started turning black ... two of the nails snapped off. I wasn’t doing anything wild that would cause that to happen. I wanted to get them repainted, with gel because that’s what i paid for (even tho i originally wanted regular but they insisted i get gel so i gave in), but he said regular for ten and i would have to pay the full price for the gel... literally what? When they fixed the two cracked nails, it was done carelessly and they were way too thick. I really was happy with my nails... and now they look disgusting. This is why I’ll never leave my usual salon. Not for this place, that’s for sure.
It is a very nice place. You could even step over to the wine bar directly to the north of the place and take a glass in with you. To get to my rating, I did not give it 5 stars because when I got into the light my nails had streaks and them I did not notice while I was there. So I called back and let them know that I was coming back on the following day to get the problem rectified. At first it seemed like Kevin who was the technician who did my nails seem to act like he didnt know what to do. I did not appreciate that feeling because I was a brand new customer. He says, Well, Ill just put another coat on it thats all that I can do. that may be true but at least let me feel that you want your work to speak highly of you. I did return & someone else rectified the problem because Kevin was busy.
I absolutely love City Nails! I use to live in Oak Lawn but now I live in Lynwood. I travel 30 mins to come here. Andy is my nail tech and he is the BEST! Any nail design I show him he can do. I never have a problem with my nails... Always beautiful and they don’t break. The staff has always been courteous and pedicures are great as well. Raymond who works the front desk is AMAZING as well.
I’m not one to normally complain about anything but this really got under my skin. I have been taking my girlfriend here for about a year now on a weekly basis for a manicure or pedicure or both whichever she likes. So on 05-31-18 we went in and she had her usual non chip dip nails done as she told me everything seemed fine so I had no problem paying 40 for the service and 20 for a tip as she was happy. Fast forward to today she has a very busy work schedule and noticed her nails were starting to chip, she went into the establishment and was not treated very nicely and was told that oh well if she didn’t like the work the will not fix it and will charge her regular price if she wants them redone, she tried to stand her ground and asked for a manager at which point she was asked to sit at a nail station and they attempted to fix one nail out of six and now they look even worse than when she came into the establishment to complain. I have already filed a dispute with my credit card company for the lack of service. I will never bring her here again and I hope the place loses business due to their unprofessionalism.
I have only been here a couple of times but i have never felt so welcomed at a Nail Salon. Raymond is key at the front desk and his costumer service is excellent! Sam did my nails and not only was he honest but did an amazing job as well. Will keep coming back and tell everyone about them!
Just paid $60 for a pedi even tho I picked the $35 one. So was the other $25 for a tip? This is the second time this happened to me. I will never return here. Over priced and under qualified. I also heard a man telling a customer to give a good review for a discount .
HORRRRIBLE PLACE!!! I got the dip powder with Kelly and she made the powder nails soo thin!! I paid 60 dollars for my REAL NAILS. They started chipping 2 days later. When dip powder lasts over 3 weeks for me.... when I returned to get them fixed she was soo angry and being aggressive with my nails as if it was my fault saying that I picked a garbage brand of dip powder... She was saying lots of racist comments about my culture too when I went the first time.. The only person is acceptable to do your nails with is Andy. I was a new customer who will NEVER be returning to this unproffessional place.
My first time there, and the lady cut two of my fingers, one on each hand. I had to ask her to fix the nail on the finger that she cut because it was bumpy. She was just going to leave it that way. I paid full price and tipped her even though she didn’t offer any kind of apology. She could have at least charged me for a regular manicure instead of the spa manicure. Anyway, I was going to let it go without a review, until my no-chip started peeling after four days. That’s has never happened to me and I definitely will not be going back not even for them to fix it.
My nails did not come out the way I wanted. I asked for long nails but I got short nails. I don’t know how you can mess that up. I had to run to class right after so I called the place and told them this was a terrible job. They said some guy will be the judge of it as if you can’t tell they’re bad. They were $48.. too expensive for this type of work
I give 2 stars for customer service. The nail tech I had was very unfriendly. She mostly used gestures to get me to do what she needed me to do & ignored me when I asked her to cut down my nail further. I had to ask twice before I was acknowledged. Not sure if she did not understand or was ignoring me. But, I believe it was the latter. She looked mad while she was giving me a pedicure & did not say a word. Making the customer feel comfortable & welcome should be the 1st priority. Wont be back.
DONT EVEN WASTE YOUR MONEY ON HERE!I asked for a specific set and they gave me the total opposite not to mention I wanted the same color for hands and toes and I waked out with two different colors! It’s so dark in there so you cant really see what they’re doing. Staff is always in a hurry to get you out they don’t even take their time to do your nails! I paid over $100 for a mani pedi and I hate them ! 😤
The worst! I went in to have my nails soaked off and to get an overlay. After saying several times I wanted them soaked bc I wanted my real nails preserved, she proceeded scraping them off, effectively breaking all my natural nails. When I told her this was the opposite of what I asked for she offered tips...exactly what she just ripped off. I expressed my unhappiness with what she did, but my nails looked so horrible I couldnt get up and leave with them that way. She proceeds to build a sloppy tip with acrylic to compensate for breaking all my real nails. She hurried through polishing them and didnt even bother cleaning up any of the acrylic around my cuticles. Will never return.Contrary to what I said, I have returned. The next day my nail is peeling off. So theres the quality.Edited again, the acrylic that was hastily fixed yesterday has once again peeled up from the bottom. Im not making a third trip. Ill chalk this up as a total loss.
Ive been going there for a couple of years and have had great experiences. However, as of late thier quality of work has gone down. They apparently let go a few of thier better nail technicians and have hire new, novice, semi-unexperienced techs. I sat there a good hour and 45 mins getting my nails done by 3 different ppl and still left no too happy with what I ended up with. I had brought in a picture as I usually did in the past to get my nails done and well this time was pretty much a FAIL in my book. I will no longer be going to this Salon, nor will my cousin who was also disappointed the last time she visited. All in all it just is not a good place to go anymore.
I went there today after reading a lot of great reviews and looking through several different salons. I walked in and was greeted warmly however when my tech came he said hello and walked away without telling me to follow or anything, he was on the phone. I stood at the front of the store for a moment before he pulled a chair out and waited for me to come, still not saying anything to me.I showed him a picture the moment I sat down and asked if he could do it and he assured me yes. It was simple ombré on acrylics. He went and got dip powder and I told him I’ve never had it so I wasn’t sure on how colors change or look. I showed him a light nude pink and he gave me hot pink. The ombré was done poorly. I told him it didn’t look like the picture and I didn’t know about them and he told me “next time you come in you need to tell me to do a light light powder” and made several remarks to make me feel stupid for complaining. They charged me $55 for this service. I went somewhere immediately after and got them fixed. I definitely won’t be stepping back into this location and am very disappointed.
I came in on 7/20 for a fill in and polish change on my toes, I had to remove the polish on my hand by the time I made it home because it was old and THICK. I had to return on tue 7/23 because 5 of my fill ins started lifting. They had the same guy redo them ok cool your errors you fix I get, I did not get polish on my hands this time. I called back 7/27 because 5 more of my fill ins were lifted some the same others not. The man I talked to Andy told me I couldn’t come back in a fri or sat because it was their busy days to bring my receipt with me. I told him I don’t have it but I do have my BANK STATEMENT with when I received services. I don’t stay near this place it was a oh on my way to my God child let me stop here thing. Needless to say I just went some place else hate I waited my money.
It wasnt the worst...i just thinknincould of had a better nail tech...he did my pedicure and didnt engage in conversation no matter hiw many time i started one.I also had a fill in done and he usen a thin amount of acrylic and my dimonds werent lined up right he was very shaky,i tipped because that only right to tip on behalf of someones time and effort but u cant say i will be back,my nails came off in 5 days
They did a terrible job on my full set of gel, so bad that one my nails had an air bubble that turned into a chip. I went back the next day to have it fixed, a tech looked at my nails and said “fill-in” mind you this was the next day AFTER they did my full set. The gel was so far away from my cuticles that it looked like I needed a fill, that’s how terrible their work is. Look elsewhere...trust me.
Lovely atmosphere. Even better is I can communicate with the people there. The only thing I ask is that they please invest in better chairs for the customers. They are falling apart and eventually someone is going to fall when the chairs break. Other than that, I highly recommend this place.

2022-06-08I have been coming here for several years, and always received excellent service until my last visit where I had to wait even though I had an appointment. My appointment today was an experience I will not soon forget.Arrived on time for my 6:30 appointments for 2 pedicures. My daughter and I were to bond over a relaxing pedicure. We were not seated until 6:50. My pedicure was started right away, with my daughter sitting with her feet in water, waiting and waiting. My girl was rough with pushing back cuticles and snipped my skin when cutting them. Yes it bled. Yes it burned when she sprayed alcohol on my toes. Yes it was frustrating. Ohhh and my daughter is still waiting. At 7:05 she took her feet out of the water. As they were putting on my top coat she was approached and she politely told the girl it was to late to start. It was almost 7:15 and I was done. There were no apologies, no discount for making me bleed. It was just a terrible experience. I’m not sure I’ll be back.

2022-01-03Easy fast accommodation love the service. My daughter always gets her nails done by Andy and always leaves happy. I had my no chip done by an older gentleman and it lasted 3 weeks! Definitely found a great nail salon worth the time and money!

2022-06-13This will be my first and last time patronizing this establishment! Not only do they rush(Kathy) but they are very unorganized. The salon is not the cleanest and the prices are through the roof! The No chip polish chipped 2 days after service and the polish was clumpy and cloudy. Please don’t be like me and settle for this salon by being in a rush.. use your dollars wisely and go elsewhere please

2021-03-21Been here twice and both times I had a fantastic pedicure but I got a no chip manicure today and I wanted the chrome finish and this is how they turned out. There is bubbles and not chrome at all. Horrible, not the mention I was cut during the process, you can still see the dried blood. Dont think I will ever go back here.

2022-01-03They were nice and welcoming, but my only issue was the nail tech polishing. I had no chip and noticed that some of my nails look bad. I let them know but I didnt like how she tried to fix them quick by throwing an extra layer of top coat.
