I used Chyla for both hair and make up for my wedding and she was so professional and fun to work with. I ended up deciding to use extensions last minute and she was so accomodating. Would highly recommend!
Chyla did an amazing job of answering all my questions before,during and after the process of getting my eyebrows done. She made me feel super comfortable throughout. She explains what she is doing during the microblading process and shows that everything has never been used and is sanitary and clean. Chyla gave me amazing brows and am so happy I chose to use her out of all the eyebrows artists out there! I continue to tell people about her and show them her work because she truly does an amazing job! I will go to her for more services for sure!
Chyla was an AMAZING wedding hair/makeup artist!! She gave me a natural, but stunning look with loose old Hollywood-like curls and perfect glowing makeup! She came all the way to my hotel and was so kind in general. 10/10 recommend!
Chyla did an AMAZING job on my wedding day! We had to have an extra stylist come because hair and makeup was being done for me, five bridesmaids, and three mothers but Chyla took care of finding someone with a similar style so I didn’t have to worry about it. We achieved my perfect look at a trial session before the wedding; I showed her some pictures of hair styles I liked and verbally explained how I wanted my makeup. That’s all she needed to bring my vision to life! Chyla was very receptive to feedback throughout the process (hair looser/tighter, lighter/darker eye shadow, etc) which made the experience seamless. She would always make sure that I liked what she was doing. I mentioned that I wanted to use hair extensions & Chyla sent me a great, affordable recommendation that she has used with other brides. I bought the extensions for my up-do and it looked beautiful!All of my bridesmaids have been raving about how excellent and professional Chyla was. The process did not take too long & everyone was very happy with their look. I highly recommend her!!
Chyla was a pleasure to work with! Not only did my wedding hair and make up look amazing, but it stayed put all day and all night! It was hot and humid that day, and I even had to run through rain at one point right before the ceremony... Yet I still looked flawless the whole time! I couldnt have asked for a better HMUA!!!
I had my wedding hair and makeup trial with Chyla. She is very nice and professional. I was stressing a lot about finding someone that could do my hair and makeup for my big day because I want it to look perfect. Im so glad I found her. I loved the work that she did especially my brows. My brows are very sparse on the ends. She made my brows fuller. I do have lots of allergies but the good thing is that we where able to find products that work for me. She does have a big variety of products to choose from. I cant wait to do it again on my big day. I would definitely recommend her.
Chyla is very professional, knowledgeable, and down to earth. She never tries to “sell” you on services and listens to what you want and is honest with her assessments. I love my brows and lips and they haven’t even completely healed!! During the process she will tell you what she is doing and explains everything in detail. I trust her and will only go to her. If you go to Chyla you won’t be disappointed!!

First time lip blushing and eyebrow client and Im hooked. Chyla has a process that needs to be trusted, because she wants you to love how you look. Being that the procedure is a tattoo and somewhat permanent, I was nervous about both processes. Seeing her Clients result, she was someone that could be trusted. She walked and talked me through every step; easing my mind and helping me enjoy the process. She is very detailed and thorough with her work, while also including you in the process; shape, color, etc...She is not only thorough with the process, but her studio, and everything in it was clean; I mean *squeaky clean*, which is extremely important to me.I loved working with her and I especially love my results (Hubby loves them too!) Before Chyla, my eyebrows were sparse and balding (thanks CoVid). It would take me at least 10 minutes to draw in my brows, only to have them ruined by sweat, humidity, or just going to the pool. Not to mention my lip color would be smeared by masks. Now, I wake up, brush my teeth and wash my face (maybe put on a little foundation), spritz dry shampoo in my hair and Im ready to go for the day. Easy peasy!Thanks Chyla!!
Chyla is amazing! She explained the whole process thoroughly and put me at ease when I was nervous about the procedure. She is very knowledgeable in what she does. I am so extremely happy with the end result! She is the lip blush queen!!
I wanted to use Chyla for my wedding last year and she was booked! I was able to use her this year for my hair and make up and she did an amazing job! I could tell that she really cares about her work. I just used some of her own pictures to show her what I wanted and she executed it to easily. She knew exactly the colors that would look good on me and she made everything just how I wanted. Chyla did an awesome job on my makeup and hair on my Wedding day. Im so in love with her work. From the day of my my hair/makeup trial to the day of the Wedding. I booked Chyla after I had already done a trial with a different MUA, so I had a basis of comparison. I would absolutely recommend Chyla to anyone. I came in for a hair & make-up trial, and kept in contact with her during the months leading up to the wedding with different ideas that I had, since I had not yet decided on my hair look. My bridal party services were for 4 women, including myself. The day of the wedding, CHYLA WAS A ROCKSTAR. She (alone) did all our hair & make-up and kept us 100% on time. Chyla takes everything step-by-step, checking in to make sure you are happy with the direction that the look is going (she starts natural but can go dramatic if youd like). Chyla was also aware of how things would photograph & had me take a test picture with my photographer to check on the blush - we put a bit more on & it made a huge difference (what a pro!). She completely nailed my hair look, even though we had not practiced that do in the trial. The hair & make-up lasted all day. So happy that I found Chyla!
All star hair and makeup artist! She did hair and makeup for me (bride) and two bridesmaids for my wedding this August.Some of the stand out qualities about Chyla- professional- on time and prepared- experienced (i.e. knows what looks good in photos)- versatile (we all came with different styles in mind)- open and welcomes feedback every step of the way (even when it was hard for me to describe what I wanted, she got it)- good listener- positive presence (which I really needed that morning!)Stand out qualities about her work- make up stood up to tears, sweat, and humidity- hair was unshakable yet comfortable- looks great in photos (we all got air brushed)Overall, Im really impressed by Chylas expertise and execution. I would recommend doing a trial. During the trial, I thought I wanted to look young and natural but when I actually got it I only felt 70%. After the trial, I sent Chyla more inspiration pictures and thoughts about the trial. When it came to the wedding day, I asked her to enhance me and contour my nose to make it slimmer and other small adjustments along the way and I felt 1000%. Chylas work gave me the confidence to make it through the day and all those photos.
I finally found the perfect HMU artist for me! Chyla is amazing! So far I have booked her twice for hair and makeup, one for an anniversary session and one for an event. She made me look and feel glamorous! She is super nice and willing to work with whatever your heart desires. She is professional but will treat you like family. The only regret I have is I didnt book her for my wedding.I definitely recommend Chyla for your hair and makeup needs! I am a forever client!
I found Chyla through Instagram and was immediately blown away by how beautiful her make-up applications are! I scheduled my trial for hair and makeup with Chyla and she came to my house and did an AMAZING job with both! She helped me look like me, but a BETTER and MORE BEAUTIFUL version of myself. When a week before my wedding I wanted to change my wedding hairstyle, Chyla took time out of her schedule to make a late night visit to my house to try this new hair style on me, which not only was PERFECT, but incredibly kind of her! I would use Chyla again in a heartbeat and am so grateful to have had her do my hair and makeup on my wedding day! I strongly recommend!

Being able to do makeup on myself, I thought on my wedding to just have it professionally done. I booked Chyla and Tracy for my bridal group and they were awesome! Hands down, the best! Even recommended them for my sisters upcoming wedding.Trial experience: Chyla was completely accommodating to my schedule and tried a few looks. I wanted my look to be dramatic and not neutral as most brides do. Since I wear makeup with a neutral look often, I wanted something where I stood out. I showed a fee pics and she combined them all for my look. It looked awesome and if there was something that I wasnt happy with (like if the hue was too light), I informed her and she darkened it up. I wasnt afraid or intimidated to tell her how I liked it. She gave me ideas and we worked together great.Bridal day expierience: On time, set up in the best lighting at our hotel, and makeup was so glamorous! All night compliments on my makeup. Nervous about the first-time airbrush in hot August weather, but she reassured me it wouldnt become cakey or messed up. SHE WAS RIGHT! Her makeup was the finishing touch to my special day and so happy it was as perfect. My bridal party & mom loved their hair and makeup by this team!Definitely recommend them and their services. I was looking for a makeup artist that could accommodate to my Asian face, and Chyla did a wonderful job in addressing what I want especially with my eye makeup. I’m sure she is versatile with her skills for wide arrange of faces. If you want to have something specifically done, Chyla is quick and friendly in helping you achieve that look. She does airbrush technique and uses high end products in an affordable price. Highly recommend her!!
This review is long over due. I go to Chyla for everything!!! Hair, make-up, style tips, you name it. My make-up is always so flawless and it lasts for the whole day. She only uses high end makeup so you are really getting a bang for your buck. I was amazed on how much make-up she brought. Shes so organized and professional with an awesome personality. Shes also done my hair for a wedding and I got so many compliments..I never wanted to take my hair down..lol. She is truly a master at her craft and anyone who goes to her will be more satisfied with her work. She really listens to what I want done and then puts her creative twist to my look. I love it! During my makeup trial I informed Chyla that I truly only have one go to make up look that isn’t very adventurous so I wanted to play up my eyes. Since I really have no idea how to work with eyeshadow and my hair was going to be pulled back I wanted some sort of visual pull to my face. She started off by showing me her most popular eyeshadow colors and started light handed. As the trial progressed she added more pigment per my request. The next day she reached out to me and inquired how everything lasted and if there was anything I wanted to change.The day of the wedding Chyla was amazing! She arrived to our hotel early and was so chipper and ready to go! She set up quickly and in a spot where lighting would be perfect for pictures but tucked away so there was still room for the our hairdressers to move around and for the girls to get ready. She listened to each of my bridesmaid’s and mother’s concerns about their skin and wearability of the makeup. She even took the time to ease the concern of one bridesmaid who had recently learned she has a fragrance allergy. She was so efficient that she was able to fit in an extra bridesmaid that originally wanted to do her own makeup as well as extra touch ups before we were all on our way.
I have very scarce eyebrows. I was recommended to go to Chylartistry. I did and I am so happy with the outcome. I love how they look and also love not having to put brows on everyday. I have received many compliments. I recommend CHYLArtistry 100%.
I do not like to write bad reviews, however, Chyla kept asking me to write a review, which tends to makes people feel pressured to write a good one. Being a bride, I want people to know the truth.As a bride I was looking for a special, dramatic look that day. Chyla did not come close to reaching my expectations. She did NOT put eyeliner OR mascara on my lower lashes, I had to ask for it. She did NOT highlight any of my face OR contour, I had to ask for it. She did NOT airbrush even though it was in our contract. She did NOT use blush, I had to ask for it. It is not my job to tell a makeup artist how to do the basics. I was disappointed and I did not have time to retouch my make up after she finished (which I shouldnt have had to worry about). She was on the phone on and off in my hotel bathroom for about 1.5 hours arguing with her husband, which made me late getting ready. On a positive note, I did like my hair the day of my wedding, I just truly wish I hired a different makeup artist.I posted an album on social media of photos from my wedding day that I wanted to share (I do not mind if these photos were used by my vendors). What was most disturbing to me is when Chyla reached out to my photographers (instead of me) to ask for the password to my entire private wedding gallery. Without my permission, my photographers gave her full access to my wedding gallery and Chyla used my personal private photos for advertising on her website (for which I have contacted a lawyer). This all went on behind my back and is completely unacceptable.Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. If you are looking for a talented, professional make up artist, I would NOT recommend CHYLAristry.
Chyla is a straight up WIZARD artist. She and Tracy did hair and makeup for me, 5 of my bridesmaids, as well my mother in law and stepmother. We were up at 7:30am and got done around noon, right on time with our schedule. Both of them were so nice and flexible with changes that we requested.All of my bridesmaids and myself were Asian (two with monolids) and the makeup looked AMAZING. I couldnt have asked for a better pair of artists for my wedding day!The final thing was that afterwards, we had photography sessions up and down Michigan Ave. in the summer heat and although we were sweating like crazy, we were so impressed that our makeup stayed put!Chyla and Tracy, I cant thank you enough!!

Trial session went very well. Kary accommodated my time change on short notice. She was thorough, detail-oriented, and very knowledgeable. She gives professional suggestions based on various facial features, personalities, and color of the gowns etc. I cant wait to have her on my wedding day this fall!

Since the pandemic and face masks what do people see when they first looks at your face? Your eyes, right? So, I made the decision that I wanted to get my eyebrows professionally microbladed. I reached out to Chyla and I was terrified to get this done because what if my brows turned out horrible and thats all people would see!? BUT! imagine this... what if I got it done and my brows turned out BEAUTIFUL?! obviously i did the latter of the two! Chyla was amazing. She really walked me through everything to make sure I was comfortable. She made sure I was getting what I wanted. From the virtual consult, to making adjustments and showing her a picture of what I wanted, to her actually doing it, I couldnt have trusted my brows to anyone better! My brows were so amazing and I was so obsessed that I couldnt stop posting about them on IG and FB to the point that I had SEVERAL women in my life asking who I went to.. guess what? Almost ALL of them have since gone to Chyla or are getting ready to. If thats not a testament to a professional that does amazing work, I dont know what is! I would 100% recommend Chyla. Shes great and I cant wait to get my lip blush done by her too!

2021-08-11I dont know where to start! I had Chyla do my make up for my wedding. I was extremely concerned about my cold sore and she did such a good job at hiding it. Nobody knew I had a cold sore and the photos are proof of what a great job she did. She was so much fun and adjusted to any make up fixes day of. I highly recommend Chyla if youre looking to get your make up done!

2021-10-02On a humid August day, my makeup and hair held up so well. I rarely wear makeup so wanted a natural look but during the trial Chyla had some great recommendations and even though I was feeling weird with makeup on all day and felt I didnt recognize myself everytime I looked in the mirror on trial day, Im so glad I went with Chylas recommendations and I got so many complements and I looked so good looking back at my wedding photos!Chyla is professional and amazing at what she does! 2021-08-18Getting my brows done with CHYLArtistry was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I was hesitant at first so I made sure to do my research. Chyla made the process very smooth and easy. She answered all my questions during consultation and addressed any concerns I had. During the session, she made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. She provided aftercare instructions and product at the end of the session. I would highly recommend her service! Two thumps up!

2020-09-24If you are Asian, look no further - Chyla is who you want to hire! She is very experienced with Asian makeup so that is one less thing for you to worry about. You can see that in her work on instagram. Chyla was fun and amazing to work with! I came in with pictures of what I wanted done. She was able to deliver what I wanted to my face and hair. She brought out the best features of my face. My eyebrows were on point! My face was legit waterproof. The curls on my hair were extraordinarily clean! I have bacne scars and she was able to cover that up with minimal makeup - it was as if those scars were never there. I felt perfect! I have never ever been so happy and satisfied with my face and hair! My pictures would not come out amazing if it wasnt for Chyla! Her rates are very, very reasonable! Highly recommend Chyla! 2021-01-27I have worked with Chyla to get hair and makeup done for our engagement photoshoot! When I reached out to Chyla with questions and requesting an appointment, she was very responsive! Prior to my appointment, I have made sure to prepare pictures of what hairstyle and makeup that I want. During my appointment, Chyla worked super efficiently to get my hair done first. When it came to my makeup, she would first apply makeup, show me my makeup to see what I think, and repeat. I was able to request my makeup done a certain way and Chyla was able to deliver those changes quickly and efficiently! Overall, I am 100% satisfied with my hair and makeup! My hair and makeup lasted a full day! If it wasnt for Chyla, my engagement pictures would not come out nice! Thank you Chyla for working with me! Youre amazing! Youve made this experience super fun! I will certainly come back for future events!

I valued her opinion when deciding on what shade to get and the shape of the brows. She went above and beyond to check in with me and see how my brows were healing and answered all of my questions.
