Way too expensive for mediocre food and lame service. I forgot those first two factors until I had my meal and was so disappointed.Unfortunately, its the only place nearby that sells jambalaya and boudin. Boudin was $8.99 for five pieces... I thought there would be more in an order ? The corn muffins would have been spectacular if they werent so dried out. Dont bother with the banana bread pudding.I tried to call to say something but got no answer. When I called to place the order, the guy that answered was pretty snippy. The gal that checked me out was great and super friendly though.Oh well. My $42 meal was shared with a Friend, but I hope I remind myself not to go back next time. I always have high hopes itll be different....Its just disappointing. I dont mind spending good money on good food, but not here... 😥
Worst ribs I ever had. If your looking for baby back these are not. Bigger bones tough meat and hard to cut. Bones throughout and I couldn’t even chew the meat, maybe St Louis ribs?? But they don’t say that on menu.I use to love their ribs years ago. If it’s hard getting good ribs maybe take them off the menu. For $20 for half a slab not worth it!
My first visit to this restaurant was Easter brunch and Ill never return. It was grossly overpriced for the food that was served. An 18% gratuity was added and laughable when the server pointed out where you could tip more! We were seated about the farthest you could get from the food and had to fight with your plate to get through the crowd at the entrance.
So I have, had the hungry man skillet 🍳 and the hungry man omelet, within the last month here. First time I had the omelet it was great, it came to my table hot and the service was good. So figure I go back and try the skillet. On my second visit the service sucked, and the skillet sucked. Skillet came to my table barely warm, eggs werent done the way I asked and it was overly greasy. I got there before the big breakfast rush and I order my food as soon as the waiter came to me, so there was no reason for my food to be barely warm by time it got to me.
The food... omg! The service was wonderful. Our girl was so polite & smiled & so helpful too. The drinks were delicious! Love them strawberries lolDinner, I honestly couldnt eat my sandwich. I ate my sides & was full! Thank you also for taking care of my friends Birthday.. she loved her dessert!
Not a Chucks fan. My son wanted smoke wings but they dont sell that so he settled for the fried chicken wings and they were dry & hard. I ordered the smoked half chicken. That tasted really good meal. But the sides were horrible. The coleslaw looked like milk soup but the flavor was tasty. My roasted vegetables tasted like a box of salt. Not edible. My friend ordered ribs. Said they were very good. But his stuffing side dish was disgusting & inedible And his coleslaw? You guessed it-- Milk soup. Overall 2 out of 3 meats were good but everything else gets one star including our server. Nice person but wasnt server material. However the greeter/host at the entrance was very welcoming. This was my second attempt to like Chucks. After trying both locations, Ive decided that we wont be back. Sorry ☹️
We have been coming to Chucks for years. They have never disappointed. If your looking for large portion comfort food this is the place to come. He has delicious BBQ and southern style food. We have been there for regular dining meals breakfast, lunch and dinner and have yet to be disappointed with the food or service. We have also attended new years eve and Thanksgiving gatherings here. The most recent we had 30+ people and they did great taking care of our needs and giving us plenty of food.(even extra dessert).
Chucks is an interesting place -- they can accommodate large events (I think there was a wedding in their reception space) and regular restaurant-goers. Theres a bar area with tables and TVs and, you know, a bar, but then a second dining room with tables and no TVs. Its family-friendly, but welcoming to all. Our group size changed, and it wasnt a problem when we let them know. The staff are friendly. There wasnt a problem splitting up the check. The food was excellent -- huge portions; tasty barbecue, salads, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and desserts. The beverages options are numerous and varied -- lots of local and national craft beers, with some more mainstream brews too; cocktails; colas/sodas/pops; coffee and more. But lets go back to the coffee -- it was amazing. It was smooth and flavorful, but not overpowering or bitter. I could drink it all day, every day. Definitely get the coffee.
Super friendly and attentive wait staff! Chucks menu is extensive and the beer menu is huge as well. Had the pulled pork sandwich. It was extremely tender and flavorful, and plenty of it. Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was because the side of baked beans was pretty skimpy for the $2 upcharge.
The food was excellent! I had the barbecue burger w/ pieces of brisket & cajun fries, it was delicious! The only reason I give it 4 Stars is because they were short on staff & our server forgot about us due to an overwhelming group that arrived. I had to flag someone down to remind him that we were still waiting to be attended.
We attended the Abita Mardi Gras Beer Pairing dinner. Chuck put together awesome food choices pairied with Abitas beer. He made Mussels & Shrimp in the Abita Purple Haze with fennel & garlic - delish! Another course was Pastalaya - similar to Mexican fideo, he added Cajun Tasso Ham - OMG to die for! For dessert, the pastry chef made king cake and homemade Abita Grapefruit Honey Ice Cream. They are dead on with all of their food made fresh daily. The main course was a 12oz smoked pork chop. I dont think there was a spot left on my plate. Their next dinner pairing is in March with Guinness. Cant wait.
I absolutely hate that my family feels the way we do, and we feel its important to express. We have spent many Thanksgivings at your establishment and they have always been superb. Buffet style, tons of choices, amazing quality food. But this year we were terribly disappointed in many ways. 1. We understand why buffet style was not the style due to the pandemic, however, many food items that were included in the package traditionally were not. No jalepeno cornbread, no sweet potatoes, no corn chowder, and many other items. This was especially disappointing because the price remained the same. 2. Our food was at a mixture of room temperature and cold. This was all the food, even the soup. 3. The service was terrible. It was so difficult to obtain our first drink when we were seated. I personally had to ask for it 4 separate times. And lastly 4. When the food was initially brought to our table, family style, there was not enough given to provide our whole table. It only served half the table, and getting more to feed the other half took quite sometime. As half of the table waited for the other half to get their food, their already cold food got even colder. The atmosphere itself just felt off. It was silent, no centerpieces, all servers appeared stressed and not happy. We will not be coming back for future Thanksgivings.
Ordered ribs for 27.00 and a burger. Ribs were average quality and maybe the most expensive I’ve eaten in not sure how long. Burger was overpriced and came with no sides and was marginal at best. Server was a nice girl. Would not recommend for anything other than drinks. Have never had a meal worth eating above a 3 star here.
Very disappointed I order the brisket dinner and I got 5 small pieces of brisket and cold fries for 15 dollars lol Ive had better and got more for less at other bbq place, and the brisket is ice cold. So my last rating was a week ago and I went back and tryed it again got the brisket sandwich backed beans and cornbread muffin but this time I decided to get it take put was definitely better then having it delivered my food was warm this time not hot but definitely not as cold as it was. Only bad this I have to say is the sauce is a lil strange tasting but its been a much better experience this time around. So for the 3rd time Ive now had this particular chuck and not bad not as good as when I picked it up my self I had delivery this time and pulled pork sandwich tho it tasted great besides there funky bbq sauce it wasnt all that warm warm but not hot like Id expect being less then 5 mins away. Id have to say there cornbread muffin and there pulled pork are always more of the savior since your main oncor is never all that warm. And there fries will always be cold af by the time they get to you if you more then 3 or 5 mins away dont expect hot fries what so ever. But all in all over the cores of ordering 3 times from here I cant say anything horrible but I cant really praise them. Im sure its alot different if you actually dine in Im sure your food should be hot and ready. I wish they would put some money into having hot bag as most pizza place do and Ive never had a cold pizza from a pizza place
The food was very good, nice smoky meats. The pulled pork nachos were delicious. Very extensive selection of beer. The building itself was very entertaining to look at, lots of vintage items on the walls. They also played trivia while we were there. Our service was very good, and overall it was a great place to eat.
Chucks is not a bad place but its not a good one either. We got 2 samplers so we could try all there barbecue. Chucks claims they smoke their meat for twelve hours but that cant be true. There was zero smoke flavor to anything. Everything was just cooked meat covered with sauce. Our waitress would disappear for 30 minutes at a time with everyone at out table going thirsty. Our appetizers were good and the waitress was friendly. Our table ordered two desserts that should have been hot and gooey, a hot fudge brownie sundae and apple pie with icecream. Both were cold and hard like they were taken out of a fridge and not put in the microwave long enough. Overall I wouldnt recommend Chucks. The outdated run down interior is a good reflection of their tired menu. I wouldnt be surprised to see them on a Gordon Ramsey save our restaurant type show in the future.
Great lunch. Friendly and helpful staff. The main course was huge and very tasty. Good beers.Only reason for 4 stars was that they forgot the appetizer! Then, when I mentioned that there was no point in getting it now, they brought it (AFTER the main course was on the table)! Im sorry but, if you forget the appetizer until the entree is on the table you either dont serve it, and/or you dont charge for it, neither of which happened!
Chateau Orleans Banquets (AKA Chucks) made a difficult event seamless and stress-free. We recently held my fathers memorial here and the staff were absolutely wonderful and accommodating all around.Even one of the servers/assistants was so empathetic and gave me heartfelt comforting words. Just a caring man. They were all understanding though, hard to make an exclusion.Food was great, though we had no doubts it wouldnt be, and service flowed naturally. For the overall cost, we couldnt have asked for it to have gone any other way.
I went to Chucks Saturday morning about 11 the place was not very packed. The waitress was very nice we waited over an hour for our food. My boyfriend got all his food but they failed to bring my food which was French toast. They said they would be back with it and didnt return back for 15 minutes when I got my French toast it was all raw inside like they didnt cook it very long. I sent it back and was very upset they never did try to fix it or make it better. The manager was a very rude lady on the other hand I pretty much just left..I definitely will not be returning
Yes!!Great craft beer! Heavenly breakfast. Large portions. The skillet, bbq, cajun hash browns, and pancakes are a staple. There is a very large bar area. Great music. And large selection of craft beer and liquor. Its worth your time to eat here a few ten times! Happy hour too-
The gumbo was amazing, as was the catfish. And the macaroni was absolutely to die for. $8 draft flight Mondays! :)Update: first Saturday of the month for Beignets is a big highlight! While I love everything Chucks my favorite is really Chucks breakfast. We go at least once a month and this is still one of our absolute favorite restaurants. My hubby always gets the brisket hash skillet!
I’m never cooking at Thanksgiving ever again. Ordered the Thanksgiving meal pack from these guys this year and it was nothing short of phenomenal. 4lbs of succulent turkey breast, 2lbs of delicious Ham. Served with some of the most amazing sides I’ve ever tasted. The dressing and gravy were unreal and the mash and sweet potatoes were the perfect compliment. All for $130 including tax. Ordering and pick up were simple, friendly and efficient. This is good simple food done right. Bravo!!!
Chucks is an absolute gem here in the burbs. My wife and I discovered it about a year ago and we have been back many, many times since! The service is incredible, the prices are really good, especially considering the quality of the food (most of it locally sourced and even grown in their own garden!). Highlights, for me, include the rib dinner, the fries, and the blackened steak, but you really cannot go wrong. Also, best onion rings I have ever had! EDIT: since the pandemic started these guys have been CLUTCH, and even had a take out option for drinks! They really made it through great, and they are my favorite place to eat out.
Rude female server and manager, workers gave a hard time redeeming a reward for a FREE SODA for my child, acted like we were trying to scam a soda, canceled our alcoholic drinks and walked out, going lose business because your staff.*Spoke to head manager who listened to the incident and advised he would look into the issue.
Came in for pulled pork dinner. Pork was hard, dry, not even pulled. I’m not the person that complains about the food but my husband couldn’t help but see that I only ate mashed potatoes and slaw . He alerted waitress who went to the manager who gave us 50%off the pulled pork dinner. She didn’t even come see or talk to us. My husband tracked the manager down who looked annoyed by us and explained that people come here for barbecue and this meal is just unbearable. It’s embarrassing that a kitchen serves this kind of dry burned piece of meat. We will not be returning. Mostly because the manager didn’t apologize and looked annoyed. That’s not how you run the business.
Our group sat outside under the tent which was great. Portions are big and most of us took some home. Beef brisket dinner cooked perfectly, delicious. Pulled pork was best the others had. Jambalaya with shrimp fantastic. Sides of cajun fries, mac n cheese, coleslaw excellent. Large beer selection too. Highly recommend.
First time visit and will definitely return. Great sampler platter. Lots of choices. Had pulled chicken,, chicken tenders, and catfish strips. Would get those again. Good choice of sides. Also very hsppy with the creamy broccoli soup. Big portions for price. Also had good sandwich selection.
I received a coupon for a free chicken dinner with an equal or greater purchase and decided to try it last night. All I can say is that these were the best and meatiest chicken tenders I’ve ever had. We ordered 2 chicken dinners for 2 of us and we have dinner for 2 nights! Delicious food, incredible and prompt take out service were the highlights of our experience. Social distancing and clean restaurant were also noted! We will be back.
Very tasty food. We did online order with curbside pickup. Excellent service on a large order. Everyones dinner was just as ordered. High quality for reasonable price. Carne Asada (Allen Brothers beef) was truly incredible. Cooked perfectly, many layers of flavor and generous portions. Thank you for a wonderful dinner, each family member enjoying the dinner. That is saying something!!!
It was our first time at the Darien location, service was excellent! However, the food was lacking. My sons Mac and Cheese was bland, my husbands rib eye sandwich was also bland it was missing that Cajun flare, my smoked turkey dinner was ok once I removed the bland gravy. We were very surprised since we love the flavors at the Burbank location. Maybe an off day for this location 🤔?
Absolutely amazing food! The brisket so good youll slap your mama! Desserts are so amazing that grandma should get slapped as well.Highly recommend the gumbo and rib tips.Nice atmosphere, decent serviceThere is also a free Texas hold em league on Thursday nights at 7. Lots of fun!
Great place. Had the catfish which was perfectly seasoned. The fish was light and not greasy. Cajun French fries were the perfect accompaniment. Dont forget to order a side of mac and cheese. Got the peach cobbler, not the traditional cobbler I prefer, but it was okay.
I cant fault the service she was nice enough, but the food quality and prices do not match. My son got a bacon cheeseburger and the meat was bland and it tasted nothing close to what it should. Cheeseburgers are his go-to at restaurants and this is this is the first time hes ever not liked a burger. Brisket was decent but baked beans were sorta crunchy and we all didnt care for the barbeque sauce. 3 people and the bill was over $100. Thats our weekly grocery budget. Will not be returning, not a family budget friendly place.
The environment is comfortable and relaxed. I ate their smoked brisket and pulled pork and was disappointed in it. There was way too much fat, more than normal. My other guests had different food and they did enjoy it. I would go back again.Response to owner: Thank you for letting me know that now, I will definitely take advantage of that when I return.
1st time here was yesterday, came with a group of 7.They sat us outside under their big tent, server brought was water and bread and never came back to get drink or food order, we went inside thinking wed get better service, was just as bad....I think she forgot about us.Will, say the Food was very delicious.Customer Service here was horrible and seemed unorganized there. Not sure why? They really were not busy.2 Stars for the food, cant give 5 stars due to the poor service we recieved.
Overall a good place with huge portions. The best thing that I tasted so far on the breakfast menu was their Cajun hash. Outstanding, really. Their brisket in my omlette was good and super tender, but lacked salt. Their sausage gravy is definitely unique and overall very good, but it is on the sweet side and my preference is savory for that sort of thing. Good coffee and excellent, friendly service! I will go back for sure and try more of their dishes.
Was there on Fat Tuesday. They did a great job making it an event: live music, free beads, special menu, and it was packed. I was with a large group. They had a tapas menu and I had jambalaya and pork chops and mashed potato tapas. Both were very good. Only negative was that they were so busy, it was difficult to get drinks. I was without a beer for most of my meal. The beer menu is very well done. Food was so good, I choose to give five stars.
Absolutely fabulous food and service. I had the half smoked bbq chicken. Best chicken Ive Ever, had!!! ALL the food was stupendously delicious 😋👍👍👍 Cant wait to go back and have the rib tips next. Going to be a regular. Prices are awesome as well! But dont take my word for it, next time your out, tis the place to try! Thanks for a great meal and greàt service too.
I drove 80 mins round trip for my favorite weekend breakfast spot, and they accidentally swapped half of our order with someone else’s. I did curbside pickup and didn’t realize until I was back home. Due to an allergy, I was “forced” to eat both.I am STILL giving up 5 stars, because the last 50+ times have been on point and delicious. Lunch and dinner, no different.
Food was very good; we had ribs, brisket and pulled pork, and potato skins. All was very solid. Our waitress was a gem; we didnt realize that a local brewery we wanted to hit closed in an hour, and when we told her what was up she got us out of there post haste. Not the best bbq Ive ever had, but very, very good. Ill definitely be back when in the area.
Another successful family dinner! This was our first time as a large group at Chucks and I will definitely be going back. My wife was able to reserve a table online while we drove to pick up my parents to join us. My 5yo and 3yo actually ate their dinners 🙌🙌 our table ordered a variety of barbecue options; pulled pork, ribs, and brisket - everything was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Highly recommended! Well worth the drive from Yorkville/Aurora!
Food was delicious and was nice sitting outside under their canopy area. We brought our little 10 pound dog with us and after ordering our food, the manager Christina came out and rudely told us that dogs are not allowed. We offered to cancel our order and leave, but instead she went inside to speak to presumably the owner and then reluctantly said we could stay that time but that dogs are not allowed and just stormed away. They are within their right to have that policy, but theres no need to confront your customers with such utter disrespect. Suggest providing Christina with some customer servicing skills so that she learns how to take a proper tone with the people who are supporting the business by dining there.
2018 - Back again this year for 3rd year in a row. Still good all around. We prefer the early reservations (12 noon) as it is less crowded and you can be in & out in an hour. Food and service excellent as always.**************Went for the Thanksgiving dinner. No complaints at all. Table service was terrific and the turkey/ham/brisket slicers were fast and generous. The rest is buffet and well stocked. It is your basic thanksgiving dinner menu with some addition items. Overall though, a decent, hearty meal. Will certainly return.
This is one of my favorite breakfast places. The French toast is absolutely awesome and so is the bacon! Food comes out as ordered and hot, wait staff is attentive, and best of all, they deliver - even breakfast! Soups is homemade and awesome! Wide variety of sauces to choose from, so much that it is almost confusing. Great food, even greater breakfast! Nice sit down barbecue or take out Thomas good for families
Worth the drive from Kendall county. Phenomenal brisket! Best seafood gumbo Ive ever had! The sage gravy on the mashed potatoes was mouth watering! Desert was insanely delicious but not overly sweet. Staff was great too. And! No televisions in the main dining area!!!! Your kids are forced to have a conversation with you!! We will drive out of our way to return!!!
Stopped by for a late night dinner with my wife and I after a long day of car shopping. Food as always was delicious, staff was super friendly. There was about a 15 minute wait, but for being a Saturday night with no reservation you cant complain. I highly recommend for a nice, filling and delicious dinner. Also recommend to try their Thanksgiving buffet, my wife, sister and I have attended for atleast the past 5 years and it never disappoints.
Great place!!!! We will most definitely be going back!! First off we got the tamale casserole which was on special for the night and it was AMAZING!!!!! I have never had anything like this anywhere else, highly recommended! (Also a little spicy)For dinner I had the pulled pork sandwich which was great and my boyfriend got wings. The wings were very crispy and juicy!!The waitress was great! Very Attentive and enthusiastic. I loved the fun and colorful vibes of the restaurant too! We will be back to try and homemade mac n cheese for sure!
The food was pretty good. The Mac and cheese was unbelievable. The beer selection was pretty large. And the soups were amazing. Definitely an interesting cajun twist on BBQ. Where our dinner went south was the service. Long wait times for the check, anything extra and our appetizer came out after our food and then when we said we didnt want it anymore because we were already eating, there was attitude.
Dined here, ordered take-out and purchased their thanksgiving dinner catering with delivery, twice. They are consistent--consistently good. Occasionally, the service when dining in is lacking. Thankfully, thats only happened a couple of times. Beer selection is excellent, drinks are consistently good and, most of all, the food is fresh, properly seasoned and varied.
Food was excellent service was great. So many things in the menu I wanted to try and I settled on rib tips. This place has ample seating clean facilities and a very large parking lot. Its great for large groups and also for watching sports as they have plenty of TVs.
Take this with a grain of salt since I didnt eat there, but my family and I went there for fathers day. They were only having a buffet, which would have been fine if it werent $32 for adults and $15 for kids. We went elsewhere and had brunch with leftovers for less than the price of two adults there. To their benefit the food smelled fantastic and there was no wait.
Was looking forward to a great BBQ experience and was mostly satisfied, but the brisket was a thicker cut and drier than I had hoped. Jambalaya was flavorful with a nice bite. Service was superb and the restaurant itself was clean and easy to maneuver using my rollator (rolling walker) though a few more handicapped parking spots would have been nice. Biggest surprise? Very affordable - party of 8 (6 drinking alcohol). Plan on returning and looking into different menu items!
Just what we were hoping for! Brought the family New Years Eve around 6:00. No wait, quick service and delicious food. We each had something different and not one complaint The mac n cheese is TO DIE FOR! Moderately priced for the portion sizes. The owner himself was there, greeting the diners. Great experience.
We love coming here for breakfast. Lots of options, lots of seating, and good prices. Dinner options are decent. Barbeque is just okay. Lots of craft beer choices! Live events and bands. Large bar area. Ample patio area seating. Banquet hall has good pricing for smaller occasions and good food options.
In the midst of Covid 19 reopening of Illinois, the restaurant was extremely clean, very well socially distanced, and all of the employees were in good spirits. The food as always was outstanding, so hurry up, and help support this fine eating establishment! Have some Brisket, you will be a happy camper!
We came to this spot for dinner. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was a winning. The crew were extremely nice and we felt excellent. The food was just great. We had a great time and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Highly recommended.
We returned to Chuck’s tonight, this time for dinner. We had the most amazing server, Angie. Hey, that pulled pork was delicious, as was the BBQ brisket. Mmmmmmmm burnt ends, so fine, it will bring your southern self to tears. You have to try this place, you won’t be disappointed.
Chucks actually exceeded our expectations. First, it is really nice inside. Seating was good, with plenty of TVs. We were able to watch multiple events from.our location. The service was very good and attentive without being overly pushy or intrusive. Secondly, we were there for trivia night and the event was well ran and enjoyable. I certainly will go back for other trivia events. Now for the food. We had the Cobb salad, cheese curds, and the vegetable sandwich. Everything was tasty. The beer selection was huge and the pricing was reasonable, with the special being a great price. Overall,I would recommend giving it a shot.
Im going to preface this by saying Im not a fan of their breakfasts (even though the rest of my family is) so when Im giving this 4 stars it is because theyve earned or from great comfort food in their dinner options and hosting great events. There is plenty of seating which is split up enough to allow for tables to hear what they are talking about but close enough to not feel isolated. There is also a larger room for events that they constantly throw. Great food, amazing service, and fair process. An awesome place where most people about their breakfast and everyone loves the rest!
Ive been here a few times and I love the diverse menu. Good burgers and very good bbq, and the Murray famous dish is Mexican! My favorite are the Chicago- style wings (under the bbq menu, not the appetizers). Love the buffalo and Korean bbq flavors. Normally I prefer bleu cheese with wings but I liked the ranch more.Is a fun atmosphere and you can request the restaurant side or the sports bar area. Very family friendly.
Friendly, casual place. I didnt feel rushed. We first sat on the patio but when it started raining we were able to get a table inside and our server was able to keep track of us.My husband had hot links and I had a half slab of ribs. Very tasty. The North Carolina sauce gave it just the right amount of zing.I will go back to try something else.
Convenient for us and great BBQ/Southern fare. We really enjoy the specials...when they do events like tapas and make sides/appetizers right from the garden. I recommend checking out the menu ahead of time too, as they usually post when theyre doing something different/special.
Ive had dinner here a couple of times. The dining room is much quieter now that they put up a dividing wall by the bar. The food is good! Never skip the rib tips appetizer and always get a side of beans. The dolls are always super duper fresh which you would think is a small element to the meal but I really appreciate that touch.
The beef brisket looked and tasted like a school lunch gross hard slices of meat with bbq sauce thrown on top the sides were small and very blah for 2 dinners I spent 36 dollars and feel pretty ripped off. The pulled pork was good but not worth the money. Go some place else there is a amazing bbq place 10-15 mins up the street called Uncle Bubs they have never disappointed me and are half the price.....
Great looking place. Great outdoor patio. Service was terrible. Sat at inside bar area for 30 minutes before someone brought food menus (no drink menus). We moved to outside table and waited another 30 minutes for service. Once drinks finally came, one was left on table behind us where waitress abandoned her serving tray. Would not return.
Very disappointed. We had a taste for BBQ Ribs Saturday 8pm went to order Ribs they said they were out. After figuring what to order we decided Brisket they said they were out. Unfreaking be livable.PS the were open till 11pmRecommend call first before going and make sure the have food.
Enjoyed dinner in the parking lot during the pandemic. The food and wait staff were awesome. The two stars reflect the following issue. I would only request you enforce your posted signs. If people are not wearing a mask to their table, they should not be allowed to enter. Several were allowed, and while I respect and follow the rule, they did not and were allowed in anyway. It’s not ok to allow their choices to put me at risk.
I wasn’t impressed. The service was good, but the food was just ok. I am a huge bbq fan. All their bbq was spicy in options. It’s fine, but when i tasted the mild on my ribs, it was like there was a cleaning chemical in it. It really was not good. Usually there are chunks of fat somewhere, but it was completely dispersed so in every bite was this waxy taste in addition. On top of it, usually a burnt end is even better, but because there was literally no sugar in the bbq, it was just burnt. So the ribs were just tolerable. The sides were small; they said it was a personal serving, but it was like five spoonfuls. I’d say the red mashed potatoes were ok, but nothing to remember. Mac’n cheese was plain and I’m glad I added bacon for THREE dollars. At least that made up half the cup using two slices of bacon. The baked beans were good.Overall, overpriced for subpar quality. Oh! And whoever designed the building was an amateur; you can’t figure out where to enter and really the parking is estranged besides the parking for the neighboring strip-mall. I wouldn’t go back.
I have been here twice now and very time i come they are out of something! It was Orange soda and the olive spread for the special of the day. I dont understand how you cant run out of soda. The beer list here is amazing ,and is a good show case for smaller lesser known breweries of Illinois. The soups here is by far the best thing on the menu. Doesnt matter witch soup you get its going to be supper tasty. BBQ that is really good here. Pulled pork, chicken, and brisket. The ribs where cooked well but just flat. The North Carolina sauce is the best of all the choices. Service is always great. If you get a desrt get the banana bread pudding so so good.
The food is Amazing!!! I have been to this location for a few times before and everything was great! I am only giving the review a 1 start because our server was extremely rude. Her name is Jamie and i gave her the benefit of the doubt. The restuarant was busy and i only saw her working the tables in our area. While im waiting for our food,I see her waiting on the other tables, she is smiling and laughing and everytime she gets to our table she is passive aggressive and being very short. I ordered a lemonade shake. I have had it before and it was Amazing!!! This time it was not sweet and very sour. I let Jamie know and her response was.. well do you want me to add more sugar. I told her no. I would prefer a fresh one be made. She said i can add more surgar. I politely denied and asked for manger. The manger came over and apologized. She gave us a free dessert and remade my drink. Jamie attitude changed dramaticly when i asked for manger. She was much nicer and more accommodating. Over all my experience was not good. I will return but definitely will not have Jamie be my server.
Had a reservation for 6:45pm on a Saturday. Waitress came around half hour later for drinks. We went there for the ribs and was told when ordering that they were out of ribs, rib tips and brisket after waiting another half hour to order food. The server never came back during the meal to check on us but we saw her checking on other tables. Our friends had to get her attention if anything was needed. Worst experience we ever had and will not be going back!!!!!!
Love the Free Monday Bingo and Tuesday Trivia. Eric is a great host! Our server, Joe, is awesome too! Their breakfasts are good and you get plenty!!! The sundaes are delicious too! I have not had it, but I hear people rave about their soups and BBQ combo and many other dishes.
Disappointed in their take out. Menu says you can customize your burger, but theres no way to do that when ordering online. Also, burgers were dry when we ordered them medium rare. Also, who doesnt serve fries with burgers and sandwiches? 3 out of 4 of us were unimpressed.
The menu is true to the name with comfort food options. Ive been here for breakfast which was great and tried this place again for dinner and this time wasnt such a hit. Everything from the sides to the BBQ sauce had thyme in it. And heavy handed on the salt. The smoked corned beef was good. Wish I could have given this place more stars.
We visit Chucks on a regular basis. Usually for breakfast. They have a large varied menu based on Southern Style foods. Barbecue Brisket Skillet is fantastic. Other Southern staples like biscuits and gravy, grits, crepes, and sweet potato pancakes.Lunch and dinner offerings are wonderful too. Great Barbecue.
I was here the first week it opened. Waa very dissapointed. Decided to give it another try. This time I very much enjoyed it. Waitress was also great. And outdoor seating was also nice. P.S. I had an unusual and exceptionally great dessert. Vanilla cheesecake with peaches and basil sorbet.
My husband got food poisoning here this weekend. His brother also got sick (we were all at restaurant together). Staff seemed more interested in talking to eachother at the front booth than seating patrons. Our server was not helpful when we had a spill. Overall quality has gone down in recent years.
Always a delightful meal. Their breakfast is absolutely lovely. A little sad they took Crawfish etoufee off their menu, but their Cajun food is fantastic comfort food as well. Highly recommended for any meal, especially if youre having a rough day. Itll make you remember the beautiful things in life.
The husband and I were recently in the area and were so excited to check this place out! ...he loves Cajun! ...unfortunately...the night we went they were closed due to weather :( ...yet...we chose to come back the next day for brunch ;) ...so glad we did! ...excellent breakfast potatoes and spicy brisket hash...yum! ...the only down fall was that he didnt get a chance to try the jumbalya...and I didnt get a chance to try the beignets! ...that being said...we would still definitely recommend this place! ...one more thing...great music!

2021-11-28Obsessed with this place!!! Me and my sister went here for dinner Thanksgiving and the food was dynamite. I cannot wait to go back. The cocktails were very good too. Very impressed. Service was good considering how packed they were and on a holiday. My only complaint is we werent allowed to take boxes home and I was really looking forward to all those delicious leftovers! Plus a ton of food just got tossed and thats sad. But I cant wait to go back!!!

2022-05-18We had rib tips and Chucks Chicken sandwiches. The food was great. I had coleslaw as one of my sides and OMG some of the best coleslaw Ive had. If were in the area again we will visit again.

2022-02-26My boyfriend and I are totally obsessed with eating here. We have been hotel living for over a year for his job, here from Kentucky. We wanted to find a restaurant with a different kind of menu, about 8 months ago, and....We stumbled upon Chucks and went to the website to check out the menu. We decided to give Chucks a try and have been hooked ever since. We eat here at least once a week and have tried a little of everything. We have yet to be disappointed. The food is phenomenal, great portions and the prices are great as well. The staff is awesome and curbside service is fantastic as well. We are excited to experience the upcoming events scheduled for the food and spirits. This place is a must try!!!!

2022-06-20Chucks is a place that has great food. Serving breakfast on Saturday and Sunday only, lunch and dinner on Tuesday - Sunday, they combined three of The very best cuisines Mexican, Cajun and BBQ. The portions are big enough for two people. The bar also has a great beer selection and plenty of TVS to watch your favorite team play the sport. They also have a section with a few slot machines, just in case you want to try your luck in gambling. If your looking to have a big private party, they have you covered there as well with their banquet facilities and plenty of parking in front and back.

2022-05-04Huge portions for a reasonable price. The food is phenomenal. We usually will ask for the Boudin Balls for an appetizer because they are amazing. Sometimes they will have some sort of Goose Island Bourbon County on draft for Black Friday. Weve had a couple of friends move out of state, but when they come back to visit we always meet here for dinner/lunch because they miss it so much.

2022-06-18Great place to dine for lunch or dinner. Especially recommend the chicken wings. Best Ive had in a long while. Great selection of other entries as well. Plenty of room if you desire a small get together or even a large party. Try them out. You wont be disappointed.

2022-02-19What am amazing place, staff was so much fun. Where do you go that the owner is the one who carves up the roasted Pig and serves it to you with a story and a smile! I would recommend this place for a date night or family night out together. Food was Delicious, well done everyone.

2022-02-15We had a large party and they accommodated us quite well. The food was delicious. I got the chicken and shrimp etoufee. Highly recommend. The waitress was not very good or understanding of the larger party but it all worked out though. I would definitely go back.
