A remarkable experience from beginning to end. I came in with with a verbal description and some examples of how I would like a ring designed and Villi pulled it off! A custom design was made just from describing what I was looking for and using a few examples. The initial walk in made me feel comfortable right away and the thorough and detailed process made me realize I made the right decision. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to have something custom designed.
My goal was to take my current engagement and wedding band and create a new ring entirely in addition to taking the diamonds from my current ring and have them made into a necklace. We met with Christopher for the designs and he was able to translate my wants into making a ring and necklace that met and exceeded my expectations. His attention to detail and eye for functionality without losing the beauty exceeded our expectations. We are thrilled with the results as they both turned out beautiful!
When I was young, I received two rings, one from each set of grandparents. As I got older, the rings no longer fit. I when I was in high school to have a jeweler merge the stones into one ring, and it was a disaster. So the ring sat in my jewelry box for 30 years. Recently I started looking for a jeweler to reset the stones. I was impressed with the work and reviews from Christopher Duquet so I scheduled an appointment.I worked with Villi and she is amazing! The purple and blue stones are semi-precious and very fragile, but Villi understood the sentimental meaning of the stones and was more than up to the challenge of creating a cherished heirloom. She explained why my original idea would not work well, and sat with me sketching different ideas until we came up with the final design. She was very transparent on the pricing and on the risks related to working with semi-precious stones.The final ring (pictured) is more than I could have hoped for. I love it and every time I look down at it I am reminded of a memory of one of my four grandparents. Its a gift to wear and I will forever recommend Christopher Duquet. You cannot go wrong working with them!
My husband and I were on a search to find a custom wedding ring made from heirloom diamonds. After having a horrible experience with a previous jeweler, Villi was a life saver! She made us feel completely comfortable and confident about our design decisions along with hers. She was able to design a wedding ring consisting of 33 small diamonds along with three larger diamonds that were all passed down from generations into an exquisite wedding ring. She was delicate and patient with us. We really trusted her and I still think about how lucky we are we found her and the Christopher Duquet team behind the scenes!!
Christopher Duquet easily deserves the 5 star status. Two reasons: quality product and customer service. This is where I purchased the engagement ring for my fiance. I was actually recommended to Duquet by a friend and now that my experience there is done, I would recommend this jeweler to anyone. All staff members were easy to work with and they make the ring shopping process feel personal from start to finish. Basically, they just treat you like a valued costumer which is refreshing. One awesome process in the step was that they make a 3D image of the ring (if you make one from scratch) and send it to your email. The 3D image they create on the computer is amazing. You can truly see what the ring looks like before they make it.
We went to Christopher Duquet to get a custom engagement ring and the experience was lovely. Villi worked with us to design a ring that was exactly what I wanted, yet she also inserted her expertise when needed, and the result was a really beautiful product that I admire every day :) We also got our wedding rings done there as well and the entire process was very smooth. I came to Christopher Duquet Fine Jewelry after searching high and low with no success for the engagement ring I envisioned in my head. Inspired by the beautiful work on their website and comforted by the scores of positive reviews, I went into their studio and was immediately put at ease by Kendal, who walked my fiancé and I through the beginning stages of the process (timeline expectations, budgetary concerns, selecting a stone, and deciding on a preliminary design). She was great to work with!As we moved into the more detailed aspects of the project, Villi really helped me hone my ideas and create the engagement ring of my dreams! Im very picky and she was patient, kind, and full of reassurances the entire time. The final product is gorgeous and the unique wedding band she helped me create to compliment my engagement ring is the perfect cherry on top of the whole experience.The staff at Christopher Duquet were professional and talented, they kept in regular contact with me via phone and email, and they were overall wonderful to work with. Not being from Chicago (like my fiance), I was not aware of Christopher Duquet before we got engaged. The ring John presented was so stunning, but then learning about Christopher Duquet made it even more special. Shortly after he proposed we took a trip to Chicago/Evanston to get the ring sized and to look for wedding bands. It was a true pleasure to meet with Christopher, to learn more about his story and see all his beautiful jewelry in the shop. I know that John felt extremely well taken care of during the engagement ring purchase process too, and they did not steer him wrong!

Designing an engagement ring with Villi at Christopher Duquet was a wonderful experience. I had gone to check out other standard jewelry stores, but no ring felt right to me. We went to Christopher Duquet almost 5 years for an engagement ring and have gone back almost every year for something new, most recently a birthstone necklace for our son so they have really been with us through all of our recent milestones! We went to 5 different jewelers, Cristopher Duquet being the last one I had to visit. The amount of attention and detail we received from Cristopher Duquet was incomparable to the others. Pricilla and Villi took the time to really understand what we wanted and even went as far as sketching our ideas on the first visit. I can not emphasize enough how much I loved my experience working with Christopher Duquet Fine Jewelry and the amazing team of people who work there! My now husband and I got my engagement ring there and from beginning to end, they were amazing. Villi was so gracious and helpful, kept our budget in mind, while helping me find the ring of my dreams. Then, to top it off, when we decided to elope on a moments notice while the ring was still being made, Villi worked her magic, got the ring finished in time and overnighted it to our destination elopement in Montana to arrive the day before our wedding. Simply Amazing! I wouldn’t go anywhere else. My husband and I decided to get a new “engagement” ring because my original was very vintage and fragile. I went in and gave them a vision and Villi ran with it! We ended up with the most beautiful unique diamond ring. The process was so amazing every step of the way and they were able to have it ready before Christmas. They never tried to up sell anything and were completely upfront through the entire process. My experience working directly with Christopher Duquet was amazing. I came to his store only knowing I was ready to propose to my now fiancee and a month and a half later left with a beautiful engagement ring. He and his staff took the time to educate me on every aspect of ring shopping and asked me the right questions until I realized exactly what I wanted the ring to look like. Knowing that each ring they sell is one of a kind made this process special for me and after receiving the ring my fiancee as well.Christopher and his staff were patient with me as I asked 101 questions, sometimes twice over my three visits before I completed designing the ring. They were budget conscious and actually prevented me from exceeding my budget for a ring I thought might be better based on the 4Cs. Had a great experience at Christopher Duquet when buying a custom engagement and 2 wedding rings. Had planned to get have a custom engagement ring made with a stone from my grandmother and a ring from my wifes grandmother, but Villi, Christopher and the staff encouraged us to keep the ring from her grandmother as-is. We did that and instead had two custom wedding rings made to match. Great service and help throughout. They always worked within our budget and executed a beautiful design we helped create. I loved my experience with Christopher Duquet Fine Jewelry. Creating my fiances engagement ring was like a partnership. They communicated with me at every step of the process either by email or phone. By the time I went in to actually discuss the design, Christopher was able to prepare a drawing in minutes. They were always willing to answer any questions or concerns I had. I mean it, any question. Overall this was better than any experience I could imagine. They were personable, professional and above all they made the entire process comfortable.
Living in Anchorage, AK there arent many options for custom jewelry especially if you need a ring in less than 8 weeks. Im so glad I found Christopher Duquet. His team produced such a beautiful ring. My fiance loves it!Being 3500 miles away, I was a little anxious about the process -- would the design look good? Would the ring turn out like the CAD drawing? Would I like the diamond even though I couldnt visit the store? Would it be a good value? The answer to all these questions was absolutely YES! Our experience with Priscilla and team was amazing! I went to her with a hodge-podge of Pinterest ideas (none of which were the same) and she really made my vision come to life for my engagement ring. We incorporated the stone from my grandmas ring seamlessly. Priscilla did an amazing job of listening and really understanding what I wanted. She was so friendly and put me at east the entire time. I had gone to a handful of jewelers both independent and corporate and no experience was close to the one with Christopher. Christopher makes each experience personal and comfortable. He takes the time to get to know you as a couple and learn what type of ring you are looking for before ever taking you in front of the case and makes the process of creating the perfect ring so relaxing. The only thing more incredible than the smooth and easy process of creating the perfect engagement ring was the actual ring itself. Even though I was given updates with detailed CAD images of the ring as it was being designed and detailed to our exact specifications, the final product is even better. The craftsmanship and meticulous detail put into each piece of jewelry makes Christopher and his teams work beyond compare to any other jewelry Ive ever seen. Our ring is better than we could have ever imagined. its brighter, more elegant, and more beautiful than we thought possible. I am not sure what I can say to accurately describe how great my experiences have been with Christopher Duquet and his staff. Initially, I went to them to get an engagement ring for my girlfriend at the time. The staff was super helpful in helping me select a design for the ring along with which stones to place in the settings. Due to how great the ring and the service was, my wife and I decided to purchase our wedding rings there also. They were again super helpful in creating a new design for a wedding rings for my wife based off a pictures in magazine that she liked.I initially went to Christopher Duquet due to the high ranking I found on google, and I was not disappointed. If I could, I would rate them higher than 5 stars

Absolutely amazing experience with Christopher and his extremely knowledgeable staff. My husband and I went in for a diamond to replace the stone on my wedding band which had been passed down from my husbands grandmother. Obviously the ring was very special to us so we expressed that to Villi. Villi suggested the oval cut diamond for my band and found the most perfect diamond for my ring, and was still conscious of our price range! Not once did her or Christopher try to sell us a more expensive diamond, try to get more money out of us or try to take advantage of our special situation. They handled it with such care and made sure to keep the ring in its original state as best they could. The welder did an amazing job keeping my band exactly the way it had been given to me by only lowering the setting to fit the new diamond. They had my ring ready the NEXT DAY!! Christopher and his staff are the polar opposite of a big diamond store chain; they are courteous, knowledgeable, and keep their customers interest at heart during the entire process. They are there to serve their customers wants and needs and it is very apparent. We could NOT have had a better experience - I would not change one thing. After scouring several jewelry stores for an engagement ring with a vintage look and a bunch of other elements that I just couldnt find anywhere else, I was blown away by the craftsmanship and artistry of the rings available at Christopher Duquets Fine Jewelry store. However, I wanted that extra something that I knew would have to be my unique design for my now-fiance.Christopher worked with me to co-create the perfect piece - combining all the elements of many different rings and tying them together with one theme. My fiance now has a ring that she describes as perfect. I cant imagine having achieved this ring with anyone else; Christopher was knowledgeable and creative, and he involved me every step of the way. Naive boy goes in search of ring.I walked into Christopher Duquet knowing that I wanted to design an engagement ring that looked antique, but lacked any real understanding of jewelry. Terran knew exactly what I was looking for, but not able to articulate. We selected several rings that contained elements that I liked and wanted to incorporate into the design. Before I left my first visit Terran had created a drawing that exceeded my impression of what we could create.The whole design experience was wonderful. After the initial drawing I received computer drawings and then saw a wax model. Terran and Villi found me beautiful stones, and when a friend tried to talk me out of my plan to use a sapphire as the center stone, they settled my nerves and we decided to continue with the vintage design and stone.The ring is gorgeous. The stone is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, and seems to change color and character in different lighting and settings. My fiancee, who was not aware that I designing a ring, was thrilled and loves her one-of-a-kind ring.It was amazing to work with these great artists to design a unique piece of jewelry. I highly recommend Christopher Duquet and will definitely return for future jewelry needs!

I had a great experience with Christopher Duquet. He and Villi made the whole process of getting an engagement ring fun and pleasurable. My fiancee and I had been into the store before we got engaged just to look at ring ideas. After I decided I was going to propose I went back (alone) and talked with Villi about the process. I loved the idea of having a custom ring, but also wanted to keep the surprise aspect of proposing. Villi explained that I would select the diamond and they would place it in a presentation ring, which I could use to propose and my fiance could either keep that one or choose to come in and make a new one (getting full credit for if). The presentation ring itself was gorgeous, and we almost kept it! Villi also did a tremendous amount of work to find some Canadian diamonds as that was important to me and my fiancee.After I picked the diamond and got the presentation ring, I proposed (she said yes!) and we went back to design our custom ring. The whole process was great and we really got to understand what went into designing and creating a ring. Villi and Christopher were very helpful and flexible, and we were able to see several designs and suggest changes before finally creating on the perfect ring.I couldnt be happier with the ring that Duquet designed and created for us. The quality, flexibility, and expertise that they have is unparalleled. My fiancee and I absolutely love the ring, and I wholeheartedly recommend Duquet to everyone.

We found matching rings and then from there they worked to customize the rings exactly how we wanted it. Villi was very pleasant and professional and we really enjoyed working with her. The jewelry created by this team of talented artisans is truly masterful, and everyone is so NICE, too!I was looking to custom design a vintage-inspired ring to replace my mass-produced setting. After meeting with several jewelers, I knew that Villi was the ONE.Like some reviewers before me, I admit to being very, *ahem*, particular and detail-oriented (and okay, slightly OCD). Even with me second-guessing every step, Villi was always so patient, understanding, and helpful. I had a very long wish-list of elements I wanted to include, which almost seemed impossible to incorporate into one little ring. However, Villi was able to sketch the perfect ring from my description. She worked with me to get every detail exactly the way I wanted it along the way, and have I mentioned how nice they are there? After a few disappointing trips to jewelry shops downtown I took my parents advice and made an appointment with Christopher to look at engagement rings. After 2 minutes of meeting with Christopher I knew this was where I wanted to buy the ring. He is very honest, extremely knowledgeable, funny, and straightforward. Whenever I went to a diamond store on jewelers row I felt like a commodity and that they were just trying to sell me any diamond that remotely resembled my description. I didnt trust anyone at the stores downtown and that turned me off. That all changed immediately when I met with Christopher. We discussed the type of engagement ring I wanted and he talked me through the process and timeline. We looked at a new diamond that recently came in that we both loved (and I wound up buying for the ring). Christopher said he would have more diamonds with a similar cut coming in soon so I made an appointment to meet the following week. After comparing several diamonds, selecting a diamond, and discussing the design of the setting/ring, he sent me a few CAD drawings via email and asked for my input. I was extremely impressed with the CAD drawings and felt I surely would not have received the same personal experience from jewelers row. Once we finalized a small change to the setting, it took just a couple of weeks before Christopher called and said the ring was ready and the final product was better than I could have imagined. My fiance loved it and still cant stop looking at it. From now on I will only recommend Christopher Duquet and want to thank him for making what I thought would be a stressful experience into a fun, memorable, and personable one. Thanks, Christopher!

I was looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend and being someone who recently moved to the Chicagoland area, and also who doesnt generally like to shop, I did a quick search for all the jewelry stores nearest my residence. One popped out to me for their glowing and near perfect rating(s) on multiple feedback sites. Christopher Duquet Fine Jewelry was this store.Actually, its probably not even fair to call Christopher Duquet a store. Its more like a personal experience. They arent like a store where you expect to be hit in the face with display upon display of mass manufactured jewelry and mediocre stones and people standing around filing nails while waiting for someone to enter. When I walked into Christopher Duquet I was immediately greeted, had a hand shake, and asked what I was looking for that day. Once I had made my request and let them know I had a budget, I was shown some displays with samples of what I could get. They will also design a ring for you based on what youre looking for if they dont have one on display that suits your fancy!The person helping me was named Villi and she was very attentive to my specifications of what I was looking for and the fact that I had a budget I was trying to stay within. I picked out my design and Villi and I discussed diamonds, size, shape and how stones are generally made/come about. She definitely educated me on what goes into the diamond as well as how a ring is generally made. She even did research and found varying stones in size, shape, color, and price so that I could choose the best one that I felt would match the ring I was buying.All in all this process was extremely easy and I felt I left with more knowledge about diamonds and rings than I had going in. They were extremely helpful and Villi was very nice to work with as she didnt pressure me into anything and gave me choices to make the ring I WANTED. I would highly recommend anyone looking for an engagement ring, or any jewelry, to give Chistopher Duquet Fine Jewelry a chance! I can definitely say that my fiancee was happy with her ring and were talking about going back for the wedding sets.

Thanks to Terran and crew I was able to receive the exact engagement ring that Ive always wanted. My fiance and I live in Los Angeles and he heard about Christopher Duquet as the place to custom make jewelry. He chose to have a ring modeled after an antique ring and I have to say it is more perfect than I could have imagined. Not only did they create the perfect ring, Terrans diligence gave us a much faster turn around than expected which enabled the perfect engagement weekend. The perfect wedding ring should be something unique, and special, symbolizing the love between two people. We were looking for just that when we came to Christopher Duquet. We already had a marquise shaped diamond, but we were looking for a setting that could transform it into a work of art. Christopher spent ample time with us, assuring that he got every important detail of our dream ring. He drew a rough design right in front of us, and explained the process of building our ring. The process includes sending a computerized image of the design, as well as building a wax model, to assure that it is just right. He then casts the ring in metal, adds the diamonds, and any finishing touches. We wanted engravings all over the ring, as we love the vintage look. Engraving is a difficult art, and Christopher Duquets team is unbeatable in this department. The ring turned out better than we could have ever imagined, and the engravings add such a unique and beautiful element. Christopher and his team have an amicable disposition and are a joy to work with. They deliver customer satisfaction and quality all within a very reasonable price range. Could not be happier!

Our experience creating our beautiful engagement ring has been fantastic at Christopher Duquet. We went in with some indications about style and budget and from there Villi took us on an incredible journey. We knew the type of stones we wanted but were ready to be surprised... and we were, the day we saw the particular shade of green of our Montana sapphire. Villi designed a setting from scratch. As the center stone wasn’t too big, we studied ways to enhance it. When I saw the 3D model I asked for some modifications, those were fast and easy. We were expecting to see the first cast in wax, but were thrilled when Villi surprised us again with one already in gold. It was just perfect. I was already in the process of choosing a diamond at another highly rated place on Jeweler’s Row on Wabash. However, I figured I would at least check out this place since my friend recommended it so strongly. I walked in thinking that I would just look a little bit, ask about the prices, and then go back to the Wabash jeweler that I was working with. Then I could feel better knowing that I checked out more than one place and could also tell my friend that I considered his recommendation. This review is long overdue! I was referred to Christopher Duquet from a friend when searching for an engagement ring. Unlike many other jewelers that only display settings without the stone, the storefront displays hundreds of engagement rings across all different styles (really helped me get the creative juices flowing). Every piece is custom-made but priced comparable to Jewelers Row. After seeing all the options, I realized that I couldn’t possibly pick out the perfect setting. I worked with him to purchase the diamond which was an incredible quality for the price and he placed the diamond on a “presentation setting”. After the proposal, my fiancé was able to come back and design her own ring. He stands for quality, his team is friendly and informative, and they work on very tight deadlines. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!!
I had wanted a handmade, artisan engagement ring for a long time, but had resigned myself to a big box store for cost reasons. However, we found Christopher Duquet Fine Jewelry, and I was delighted to find out that it would be possible to have a custom ring made for a reasonable price.We had a stellar experience from start to finish. Our point person was Terran, who was a delight to work with. Never ever pushy, always helpful. The craftsmanship and artistry is absolutely stunning. We wanted to have a moissanite or other synthetic stone as the centerpiece of the ring, and no one ever made us feel like we were making a mistake, or that we were somehow less valued as customers for wanting a synthetic stone. We ended up going for a gorgeous synthetic sapphire ring, set in 14K white gold with a halo of tiny diamonds around the center stone. It is stunningly beautiful, incredibly well-made, and absolutely worth the money.They will also do free appraisals, which is required for getting insurance (which I highly recommend!). They also have a great cleaning/repair policy, and will give you all the info you need to take care of your jewelry properly in between yearly cleanings. I couldnt recommend them more highly.

I spent 3-4 exhausting and disappointing months searching for a ring maker. The 5 year anniversary for my girlfriend and me was drawing closer and I had my mind set on proposing. 4 months filled with what Id call the car salesmen of the jewelry industry and I was at my wits end.Along came Christopher and his staff; soaring reviews, a clean BBB record and the craftsmanship to back it all up.Im not one to write reviews unless Im incredibly impressed or absolutely furious, and I can assure you Im impressed.I had a custom ring made for my [now] fiancée and every step of the process was informative, inclusive and tailored to fit both my desires and the integrity of the end product. I was never pushed to get bigger, more expensive things. When I decided I wanted to propose to my girlfriend (now fiancé), I really had no knowledge of where to begin picking out or designing a ring. I knew her taste and preferences, but that was it. The team at Christopher Duquet was amazing.My first meeting was with Villi, who patiently sat with me as I described my fiancé, what her taste is like, what Im looking for, and what budget I was working with. Villi educated me about designs, diamonds, and various other options. She also pencil sketched some ideas, which was fun to watch. Its truly a custom design, starting from scratch.After this meeting, I received some CAD illustrations the following week. Their CAD specialist does amazing work in allowing you to see what the ring will actually look like. Over the next several weeks we made some design tweaks until we came to the final decision.In the end, the ring is AMAZING. The diamonds we selected are perfect, and my fiancé absolutely loves what shes wearing. Well be going back for our wedding bands. My fiance and I have had the most wonderful experience working with Christopher to design my engagement ring...and now our wedding bands! Perhaps, like you, we read many glowing reviews and first went to Christopher after having done a bit of shopping, without quite finding exactly what we were looking for. I was able to describe things I liked about a few different rings I had seen and even showed Christopher photos of some rings that had some characteristics that we really liked. Christopher then created an auto-cad drawing of what would become my ring. He was totally open to changing anything in the rendering, but we actually loved what he did with his first attempt. Christopher invited us in on several occasions to pick the center stone and to see the wax-like mold and even to fit the actual ring in its raw form, without any stones. And so now, its a real ring! And it is beautiful. We feel so lucky that we were able to design it with Christophers help. It was a very special process!

I was looking for a custom jewelry shop to repurpose a family ring into an engagement ring. While that idea didnt work out (the old ring wasnt in good condition), the friendly and professional staff made buying one of their custom designs really enjoyable (and relatively easy). It was really cool to give my fiance an engagement ring that was unique and custom made...and not feel like I paid more than I wanted to. Would highly recommend...especially if you know almost nothing about jewelry (as I did).
Ive had the pleasure of working with Christopher Duquet for several years now. My house was robbed and ALL of my jewelry was stolen. I literally had to start from scratch! LOVED them!!What I love most about Christophers style is that its totally unique. My favorite quote of all times is Tiffanys is for secretaries.....You dont over pay for a name, and you dont see 10 other people with the same necklace, ring, earrings etc...Everything he does is one of a kind.Lastly, his staff are all very helpful and respectful to your taste. Never pushy, they listen to what you want. They show you options or simply let you design what you want, and have it created for you. It is a place where your opinion matters, but they add a touch of creative flare that you might not have ever thought of. Its the only place I will ever shop for jewelry again.

When Ive walked in with an idea for what I want, hes understood what I was imagining and brought it to life. When Ive walked in with no real idea of what I wanted, hes guided me and designed something stunning. In addition to his design talents, hes been able to find me truly beautiful (and reasonably priced) gems for two rings he made for me. I should have never even considered another place.I met with Christopher and he couldnt have been more gracious. He listened to what I wanted and never tried to push me toward one option or another. I knew I wanted something unique and special, so we began to design a custom ring. He was great at helping me through each stage of the process as we went from design to finish product. Even when we had to go back to the drawing board because I didnt like certain things on the CAD drawings, he showed nothing but patience and understanding. Christopher understood that this was special to me and made me feel like it was special to him too. He also was patient with my nerves about doing the right thing and my multiple visits to the shop throughout the process. An added bonus is that hes a regular guy that I could feel comfortable talking too without any pressure or concern about saying the wrong thing. In short, I felt like I could completely trust him and he was acting in my best interests.He ended up designing an amazingly beautiful ring. Christopher and his team worked tirelessly to find unique side diamonds and found a fantastic centerpiece diamond that I was perfect and a fair price. The final product catches the light and sparkles unlike anything I have ever seen. As a guy who is not into jewelry, even I could tell the ring was breathtaking.I can never thank Christopher enough for the kindness he showed me and the ring he ultimately designed.
Christopher Duquet is a true gentleman and is genuinely interested in making the experience a pleasant one - which in my case was a total success. The process to design my fiancés ring went smooth and the result was seriously over my expectation - they used my ideas and made it even better to a price according to my budget.I scouted 4-5 different jewelers last fall and fell in love with Christopher Duquet Jewelry. The place was outstanding compared to everyone else. It was far away for me, not having a car, but thanks to great reviews I went for a visit. My first impression corresponded with everything I read online - the place looked luxurious and had great customer service. I had a talk with Christopher and explained my tight budget, which was not a problem. When I came back in February with a short deadline of 5 weeks, Villi helped me out. I was initially intimidated by her and I mistook her apparent lack of enthusiasm for lack of interest which was absolutely not the case! She is not overly expressive, but she really cares and will not disappoint you. I could tell she got excited the more we talked and she could not have been more helpful throughout the process. It was important to me to stay within budget since I am a student and Villi respected that, I felt no pressure at all. I decided to use 18k gold and that made me go over my budget with $100 - but that was my choice. So okay guys, Villi rocked my world when she showed me the final result of the ring. My fiancé wanted a unique piece of art as her engagement ring and it is seriously PERFECT. It is a vintage style ring with hammered/brushed gold, a center diamond (which I had from before) with a small halo of diamonds. People... there is NONE like it. Villi is someone I would like to go back to for wedding bands. She really wants the best for you. Bottom line, you cannot go wrong with Christoper Duquet Jewelry.

Christopher & his team are diamonds in the rough-pun intended!I became a client of Christophers in 1996, shortly after he had established his business. Referred by a few friends in Evanston, and awed by their rings, my fiancee & I took the plunge and had an awesome experience designing my engagement ring. It included some family diamonds & Christopher was more than happy to incorporate those as well as find perfect matches to expand on the rings design. It was one of a kind & admired by many. We designed our wedding bands with him as well, equally unique & beautiful. Sadly, my original set was stolen & I again went back to the drawing board with Christopher for a 2nd edition, this time a little simpler. It was even better.Fast forward to last summer (2013). I am getting re-married & my fiancee has heard me rave about Christopher Duquet so he makes an appointment for us to meet with him. Its been a good 10-12 years since I have been to Christophers shop. It was like I never left-he was as warm & welcoming as ever and once again made us feel as if we were his only clients. His warmth & personality eminate. His talent & creativity are evident from the moment you see his work. Sketching & collaborating with him is a joy.We created an absolutely STUNNING ring (oh, and a pretty sharp wedding band for my husband). He worked with me until it was perfect. I walked into Christopher Duquet with my mothers engagement ring, the ring I wanted to wear it with and many ideas. Some how Christopher and Villi were able to distill my ideas into the perfect ring. I had a wonderful experience at Christopher Duquet. I worked with Terran to design an engagement ring using stones from my grandmothers ring and incorporating elements from another family ring. Terran immediately understood the aesthetic I had in mind, and she helped me articulate and refine my ideas, showing incredible patience as I considered the many possibilities. The process involved an initial sketch, lifelike digital renderings, a wax cast, and a metal cast (i.e., pre-engraving) before I saw the finished ring. I loved seeing the ring gradually come to life, and I was impressed by the detailed yet fast turnaround at each stage. At the time, my fiance was deployed in Afghanistan, and Terran did a great job of communicating with him and including him throughout the process. The ring turned out beautifully; I cant stop looking at it. Well definitely return to Christopher Duquet for our wedding bands.
I was referred by a good friend to Christopher Duquet and that was hand down the reason I ended up with what my fiancée says is “the best ring ever!” (still saying that a year later). After going through the engagement ring search process with what seemed like a million other jewelers in Chicago, I simply could never become comfortable with the whole process until I sat down with Christopher. He is an extremely down to earth and easy to talk to guy that made even a novice buyer like myself feel like I knew what I was doing. Our first meeting was both extremely educational and productive as Chris was able to quickly teach me the key elements of the band, design and diamond selection process. Our second meeting (diamond selection meeting) went even better, Christopher was able get a great selection of diamonds that would have worked for whatever specifications where most important to me but most importantly he offered his professional opinion of what was the best for all factors being considered (quality, size, price, color, etc.) and helped me pick what was no doubt the best & right diamond for the engagement ring. As any married/engaged man knows, the months and weeks leading up to a proposal can be a little nerve wracking. Irrespective of the proposal strategy that you choose, whether its complex or simple, you want everything to be perfect, especially the ring. I found myself in this situation a couple of months ago of when I decided to ask my girlfriend three and half years to marry me, and I was at a loss for where to begin. Thankfully, a good friend of mine connected me with Christopher Duquet Designs, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about my experience working with Christopher.As a guy who does not own/has never really bought much jewelry I was intimidated by the idea of meeting with someone to help me design a ring. That intimidation was eliminated almost immediately during my first meeting with Christopher. He has a warm and polite style with a talent for asking the right questions to help you define what you are looking for. Moreover, I really appreciated his genuine interest and authentic responses as I took him through our story. Considering he likely hears “how we met” stories day in and day out, it would be reasonable to see how they may lose their luster after a while. Yet Christopher’s genuine interest in discovering who we were as a couple and what it could tell him about the ring we were designing made it a lot of fun for me to retell our story again.From there we jumped to discussing what I had in mind for the engagement ring, and how I wanted to work with the heirloom setting I had brought with me. Christopher was artful in how he translated my description of my fiancée’s likes and dislikes into the beginnings of a design. As we continued to talk the design became more and more like what I had imagined in my mind, with some slight improvements per Christopher’s suggestions. Once we completed the design, Christopher gave me a quote, which was well within my original budget and totally reasonable and he walked me through what I could expect for the rest of the design process. A few short weeks later I picked up an absolutely perfect and one of a kind engagement ring. The final product was completely stunning and fit our original design discussions perfectly. It was literally exactly what I asked for and it took my fiancée’s breath away! I would strongly encourage anyone I know who is looking for the perfect ring to complete the perfect proposal to go and see Christopher Duquet. Christopher and team designed a setting for diamond stud earrings. I wanted a four prong martini setting which was difficult to find. Christopher and Villi were attentive to my needs and they made the whole process easy. They designed a beautiful pair, delicate and elegant, exactly what I was looking for.
When I first walked in I was amazed. Nothing you buy here will come straight out of the case. One of Christophers associates, Terran, immediately started working with me to build the engagement ring that we wanted. She collected our thoughts and sketched several ideas by hand immediately on the spot. Not long after, I was reviewing photo-realistic images of small variants of the ring with this-or-that changed. It is amazing how quickly Terran could take a few ideas and show how a ring might be adapted to them and then present them to you as if they had been crafted in metal and gems and then photographed. In the process, I also worked with Christopher and Villi - everyone here is a delight to work with.Even more amazing is that the finished, highly-customized, product was very reasonably priced. Forget Tiffany or Tacori or ... get a better and more beautiful ring that is perfectly tailored to you or your person and dont wonder if you got ripped off in the process.
My wife could not stop raving about your store. Recently you made a beautiful pair of custom earrings for her and her brothers to give to their mother for a birthday present. The staff at the store are warm, friendly, attentive, intelligent, and knowledgeable about their field. He lives and loves this stuff.My family has been going to Mr. Duquet for years and years, first asking him to innovatively set stones acquired in the course of travels, and then watching his designs continue to evolve. When my then-boyfriend wanted to get me a pair of diamond earrings a few years ago, we couldn’t find exactly what I wanted in terms of a design, and after lots of looking in the typical places, we screwed up our courage to go to the store. We needn’t have been concerned, since he’s created everything from sterling silver thumb rings to incredibly high end pieces, and every commission gets the shop’s full attention and respect without making anyone feel “low-end.”Needless to say, he grasped what we wanted immediately (not only in terms of looks, but the mechanics of security and movement), and designed and created the most beautiful earrings that I only take off a couple times a year. Even though they’re very simple, I get frequent comments and compliments on them.Of course we returned to decide what to do with some aquamarines I got while traveling, which led immediately into engagement and wedding ring shopping. I’m sure we would have driven a less patient or professional person crazy with our vacillating over two or three drastically different designs, but this seemed to be just another day’s work. Every step was a fun event for us – looking, designing, tweaking the design, choosing from among the stones he found for us… Again, the ring gets noticed and complimented by most folks, even those with honking rocks on their own hands. And during at least one of our visits in this process, there was a very young couple also looking for an extremely modest engagement ring – they were so excited, and were treated with the utmost patience and respect.I can’t wait til I’ve put enough aside to start the process of choosing a vintage watch from his collection for my now-husband!
We had diamonds that we wanted made in to 2 rings. Terran sat and patiently worked with us until we figured out a design that we liked. She was extremely creative and patient. After we saw how beautiful the rings were, we asked her to help us design several other pieces of jewelry. We are extremely meticulous and precise on how we like things done and Terran is very trustworthy, scrupulous, and particular in her ability to help clients. We couldnt be happier, we found a gem in her.

The challenge is spotting the jeweler who hears what you mean when you ask for a “custom setting”. There are lots of “designers” in jewelry-land; there are not as many artists. The diamond (or any stone, really) becomes art when it is set. The setting should embrace the stone, capture your style, beguile the viewer.What a pleasure to work with Christopher Duquet. It doesn’t get better than this,…because he gets it! The process was delightful; it was a dialogue. The collaboration was gratifying; it became a relationship. We found a rich deep in color sapphire of good size without breaking the bank.The ring started with a plastic mold to work off. We went over it with a fine tooth comb. I have heard so many stories that some places make a mold then a ring and it doesnt turn out how you want it.The ring and proposal turn out so amazing! We are so happy! Duquet is as talented as they come, and he has built around him a crack team that delivers customer service at the highest level. I bought my engagement ring here in the Spring of 2013. Villy was excellent. I went to a few different places and spoke with a few different salespeople and Villy was by far the best. She respected my budget and listened to what I wanted. She really just advised me and helped me to get the perfect ring rather than selling me anything. 2021-11-30If youre looking for a jeweler thats transparent about their processes/pricing while providing great service and an even better product, then start with Christopher Duquet.I bought an engagement ring from them and didnt know much aside from my budget and a rough idea of what kind of ring my (now) fiancé would like. Villi walked me through their process, the kinds of materials they use (only lab-grown diamonds here, which was what we wanted anyway), and laid out all of the costs I should expect to pay (Id forgotten to think about how pricey the tax will be on an engagement ring, for example).I got started at Christopher Duquet a few months before the proposal, so we had a flexible timeline. Seemed like they could *maybe* squeeze in a tighter timeline if I had needed it tho.Oh, and the most important part. My fiancé loves the ring. I do, too. I think they did an amazing job. Cant recommend this team enough.

At my first visit, Priscilla and I spoke in detail about what I envisioned and answered numerous questions--even though I did not have a scheduled appointment. She worked with me until the ring was exactly right. My now fiance was blown away by the unique features of the ring and the quality craftsmanship. We were so happy with how the engagement ring turned out, that we already went back to select our wedding bands.

Christopher was calm and thoughtful as he explained options, he was transparent about costs, and he really listened to what I wanted.His amazing sketch work, drawn as we chatted, helped me make choices and greatly sped up the process so that I ended up with the perfect ring in time for my 10 year celebration.I cannot recommend him enough!!

I cannot recommend them enough!We came to Christopher Duquet because we needed help with selecting our wedding bands. I was hoping that my wedding band could be custom fit along the curvature of my sapphire engagement ring. Priscilla was fantastic to work with. She was trustworthy, professional, and patient when guiding us through the end-to-end process. And, Priscilla offered really helpful recommendations based on her expertise (which we needed!). 2020-12-20If I could give 10 stars I would! My fiance and I had a phenomenal experience at Christopher Duquet working with Villi. She is a master of her craft, a true artist who made me feel so special through the process of having a family heirloom ring redesigned to be a custom engagement ring. The process was very collaborative, and Villi did an incredible job of translating what I wanted for my ring while keeping the spirit of the original heirloom in tact. I cant recommend this experience enough, and cant wait to go back to have our wedding bands designed. Thank you!!

I walked them through my vision and they executed every detail to a tee. The team makes you feel comfortable and confident in each part of the creative process, educating you along the way. 2021-05-12Priscilla is a wonderful collaborator! She listened to my wife and I describe what we wanted in our wedding bands and designed something exactly like we were imagining. Priscilla was able to show us examples similar to what we wanted in the shop and made it more suited to our style. Everyone who works here is super helpful and truly enjoys their work. I love this jewelry shop and cant wait to design my next piece!
