Great food, great prices, great atmosphere.. yeah it is a little shop but you can tell they love and care for their shop. Everytime I have made an order they are super quick to get it out and everything is on point! I ordered fried shrimp last night and was thinking if anything theyll be decent.. well I was wrong! They were delicious.. and their house soup is so good too.. honestly you cannot go wrong with China Yan! Honestly keep up that lovely work and cooking.. will come back and spread the word!
First time ordering from here and far succeeded the other 2 in town.Since then, Im expressing my thoughts, I ordered today and dissatisfied, I ordered just a side of Peapods and choice of sauce, when I drained the sauce I had 1/4 left of actual peapod, I also the sweet n sour soup with extra green onion on the side none in the soup I made sure I was clear, what I got was molding frozen green onions, they were mush. Made the call back to them and thats the way they do it...NO FRESH GREEN ONION...only frozen
This is the only Chinese restaurant Ive tried in the area and Ive lived locally for 5 years. Most of the other Chinese restaurants have really sub-par reviews, but this one is rated well and I heard positive things from others in my community. Based on the food we had Id say 4.00-4.25 stars for food taste (lo mein beef was excellent, schezwan chicken was too sweet and not great...boo). Since the service was quick, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are huge, Ill give them a 5. Cant wait to try other dishes.
Will never order from here again. I ordered beef and broccoli and it tasted like they cooked it in chemicals or whatever the food was cooked in wasnt cleaned properly. It made my tongue all tingle it took a few times washing out my mouth to get that taste out but there is still a slight burning feeling on my tongue and lips.
It is a small place for dining, but carry-out is there main service. Choices are plentiful, special request are done, eg, asking for extra rice, gravy or season are easily accommodated. Ive frequent there for years and have watched there children work and grow-up helping their parents run the place.
The staff are all very friendly. The food, although typical of many Chinese restaraunts, is still very good and the price is a bit lower then your average take out place. The portion size is also very large, and even a lunch special will keep you full all afternoon. Overall, a great place.
Food is good ! Wait time isn’t too bad ! I enjoy the shrimp friend rice ! Or chicken fried rice ! Staff is friendly ! They’re prompt at answering the phone ! I’ve ordered take out and dine in ! Small area to dine in! Probably best to take the food home ! I enjoy the fried shrimp from here as well! Always a clean restaurant
3-12-201 2**Hot and sour soup taste as soy sauce mixed with water. Beef with vegetables was so sweet but service and waiting time acceptably.Update 2-10-2015 ***.4 Much better !!! Big transformation in Chinese Kitchen in Antioch I can give 4*** stars now. I will keep checking and testing .Update 11-11-2015This was my the best chines food in last year ( I was there 2-3 times a week for quick lunch. My best was beef with vegetable , Mongolian beef and hot and sour soup ) not now .New owner, new Cook (from 3 *** to 2 **) I am sorry.
This place is horrible! We were told our order would be ready at 6:15 pm and it wasn’t ready until 7pm! The service is terrible! The people that take your order on the phone are incompetent and the food has no flavor. I will never order from here again. They must have paid people to give favorable reviews. That’s the reason we went there and we are very disappointed.

2021-12-31Definitely a carry out restaurant. Have been ordering from here for a long time. The food is pretty good and consistent. They put up a wall for Covid and are taking the right precautions. Order ahead and pick up your delicious meal.

2022-03-27Great food and quick service. We always get the mei fun, shrimp fried rice, steamed dumplings and egg rolls and everything is consistently great. Large portions and fair pricing.

2022-03-31Great as always. General Tso chicken was cooked perfectly, the chicken fried rice was excellent and my wife really enjoyed the homestyle bean curd. We like our meals with a little kick, and China Yan always answers the call when we ask for our meals to be extra spicy!

2022-04-09This is a great spot. I got the orange chicken combo with chicken fried rice & an egg roll, fried wontons, pepper steak, lo mein, & 2 cokes for $.99 each. One of the items came with white rice. The wontons were great, the orange chicken was better than a lot of other orange chickens Ive had, and so was the fried rice. Really a phenomal meal, this is one of the better Chinese restaurants Ive been to.

2021-10-20Food was okay. Chicken fried rice is only rice and large chunks of onion pieces. Rice is soggy and chicken is chewy so gross! Sweet and sour chicken is hot, but again chicken is a weird texture. Best Chinese food is Ming Toy in Waukegan definitely worth the trip! Won’t be back here again.

2022-01-16Least favorite chinese in Antioch. No flavor to anything we got. The chicken in the fried rice looked uncooked. Texture of the teriyaki chicken was odd. They have a decent combination dinner with chicken, beef, pork, shrimp and crab meat.

2021-08-10Absolutely disgusting! Inedible! Wouldnt feed this to my worse enemy!Smelled spoiled. Potstickers hard as a rock. Sweet & sour chicken was grey and oily. Teriyaki meat on a stick smelled like vinegar and has brown furry spots on it. Thos place needs a visit from the health department. They refused to refund our money and told us to go away.
