Kathy and David have been AWESOME!! They help me a lot! Highly recommend this gym. New door system is great! Gym is kept clean and like the availability of the towels and sanitizer too!
I’ve been going to charter for two years because it’s such a clean gym. All the staff is so nice and welcoming, especially Katie and David at the front desk! They always greet me when I get to the gym and are there if I have any questions!
No water in the gym. Cant use bath room. Cant shower. No drinking water. And they have the nerve to charge $2 for water bottles. And $70 if i want to cancel my membership. Ill gladly pay the $15 more a month for LA Fitness. Manger left for 1.5 hours to go to the bank to buy some water and came back with nothing. They vacum 1 per week. Place is dirty. Stay away for this gym. Not enough bench presses. Machines are nasty! Because no water to clean them
This place is a joke most of these reviews are fake.. I was interested in personal training a guy Barry who overcharged me for sessions was annoying and weird and the trainer(justin) he set me up with was careless only wanted to train on his time.. I canceled but I still get charged for something I canceled? If this gym wasnt close to me Id cancel my member ship too.
Great place to workout at. Staff are real nice. They do a great job in keeping the place clean and safe under the current circumstance. I’ve worked out at other nearby gyms, that said I highly recommend this place!
The Alsip Charter has done an excellent job at keeping the environment clean and safe for working out. Kathy, the front desk manager, always has towels ready and bottles filled for clients to keep the machines clean. She personally is among the weight machines wiping things down and is diligent at ensuring that masks are worn providing confidence for a safe workout.
Highly recommend this location. Very clean and tight community. Every person in here is respectful of your space and workouts. The folks at the front desk are very welcoming and helpful. David and Jordan keep the place nice and clean for all customers.
David is one of the best trainers I have ever met. He is very knowledgeable and has lots of experience in the fitness industry. He is very friendly and helpful with any questions about memberships
I was a previous member from Blast and couldnt be more pleased than to know that Charter Fitness took over my membership. This facility is clean and has a great free weight area. Management always makes sure members are well taken care of.
Francheska is a great personal trainer, she put me through the most intense circuit workout of my life. I would totally recommend her to anyone. 10/10. Jordan always has a smile on her face and greets me as I walk in, like true royalty. Thank you charter fitness 💪
In February 2021, I signed a 3 month commitment for training sessions. I was told $150 a month. In end of March, my trainer was taken from me because someone quit and she needed to cover the front end. I was told that the training manager or my replacement would contact me to resume training. I never got a call. Ive spoken with someone at least every other week since (by texting or calling, with texts to prove) with no luck getting a hold of anyone. My old trainer *who is amazing, (thanks Fran!)* always relayed the message to Michael (Alsip branch manager) or Dylan (my supposed new trainer). I never once got a call, but they kept taking my money. They even took an additional $150 (4th payment, but were only supposed to take 3) after my contract was over, and they wont refund. I finally talked to Jordan (Assistant manager) today (6/11/2021), who admitted she knew of this situation, but thought it was rectified. She relayed the message to Barry (training manager) who then reached out to me telling me he called multiple times and to schedule my remaining 11 trainings because I threatened to go above them. I told him Id show phone records to prove Ive never gotten a call and the months of texts asking for someone to call me. Still no word on my refund for the extra $150 they took from me. I would like the extra $150 and my remaining 11 sessions to be refunded. If this situation is rectified, I will update my review.Edit: I told Barry to have Michael call me between 9 and 10 AM today since yesterday was my sons birthday. It is now 1030 AM and still no call. I guess guest satisfaction is not a priority.
Poorly managed and unorganized. Mask mandate means nothing here.... wieghts are never where they should be, and there is obvious signs of no daily cleaning or re racking wieghts by staff or management. Usually only 1 person on staff. Machines are all worn down, broken (many out of commission), and not properly placed on the concrete floor ( they rock back and fourth.... )also picture attached they are missing many grips on machines that need to be replaced... also Google Hours are wrong, they are 24/7 with thier app.
The customer service here is great- Eddie greets everyone and always keeps the gym clean. This location has a great free weight and machine weight area. Plus the new weekend hours with my membership are great.
This gym is awesome! I love the staff here and the members! Its not like xsport where you have people grunting over shoulder pressing 20 lbs dumbbells. Janessa is also very helpful and friendly to everyone that comes in! Everyone knows her! 13/10 even tho this outta 5 stars
I recently moved from Zimbabwe, and was in search of a good quality gym. Thankfully I found Charter Fitness and I’m very pleased with its professionalism. Especially Kathy who’s extremely nice and helpful!

Clean place, not so crowded. Downside is that parking can be tough depending on when you go.

Great gym overall. I recently moved from Texas to Chicago and I googled top gyms and this location showed up. Visited the location and I was impressed by the equipment, cleanliness and good customer service. Front desk woman Shamita was friendly and very knowledgeable. I will be going back!
Most welcoming gym in the area, the staff is friendly and ready to help you with anything. They also keep the facility clean and has tons of equipment. The rooms are a huge plus when the gym gets crowded.

Cleanest gym around. I actually drive out of my way to go here because of its cleanliness. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful whenever I need assistance. Couldn’t ask for a better gym!
Ive been a member since it opened! It has maintained cleanliness in both the gym and ladies bathroom. I only come at night, so dont know about the staff as a whole, but the young man that works in the evenings is very polite and always greets with a smile.
CFX is literally across the street and I have a great trainer , Justin .

This location in general is great overall from staff to the gym itself. Staff is always helping guest and cleaning. Also compared to other gyms Charter is at a lower premium plus they actually have towels

Love this gym best charter around manager Jessica is hard working along with Garrett hes amazing and kind to everyone hes always keeping the gym clean. Picking up weights after those who dont put them back ha me sometimes.! My experience with Charter Fitness in Alsip is overall positive. Theyre inexpensive compared to nearby fitness facilities and provide great amenities. Ask for Eddie if youre looking for someone to help you find the right membership, he knows whats best for you!
I have been going to this gym for a very long time and I love it. The staff is very nice and always helpful especially janessa. Shes always smiling and makes everyone feel comfortable and happy there. Shes a very good asset to the company.

This is one of the cleanest gyms I have been too. It is very affordable and they are handling the covid-19 outbreak professionally based off of CDC guidelines.

I actually left charter to go to a bigger gym and ended up hating the bigger gym. This charter is so much cleaner than the gym I had left it for and all their equipment is well managed and taken care of and respected. Things are put back neatly and the environment here is great

Ive been going to Charter Fitness since it was still on 93rd and Cicero, by my house. Even though I didnt have a car back then, I still spent my Summers and off days walking all the way here after they moved.Clean place, ridiculous clean. Lots of weight equipment and space.Saw an advertisement on the TV that said, Hex-Bar, Coming Soon! and like two weeks later I saw it and thought, Damn, yall never lie.Showers are toasty and locker room is being cleaned at almost all hours of the day.Great place, 10/10, will continue to get swole here.

The worst experience Ive ever had with a gym! I signed up online on a Saturday with the intentions of bringing my mom as a guest to help her get in shape. After signing up I received the contract which stated only 1 guest per month, which does not work for me. I went into the gym on Wednesday to cancel and was told that it was too late to cancel ( a lie, because I shouldve had 3 business days). I wanted to speak to someone in charge but apparently there is no corporate number and the General Manager is NEVER there. Its been almost a year and I havent been able to contact the GM and Im stuck paying for a membership that Ive never used!
My local gym. Im there almost 4-5 days per week. Staff is friendly and you can almost always utilize the equipment you need. Sometimes theres leaks in the ceiling and some of the machines and benches are a bit worn, but theyve started replacing lately. Overall not bad for the price, Ill continue working out here.
Amazing place to go and work out at your own pace. The staff is awesome and Erika is very patient & understanding about any, & all types of questions I may have when it comes to ensuring I stay on track towards my work out goals. Thanks Lady! :)
I’ve been to multiple Charter Fitness locations and nothing compares to the Alsip location. Very spacious and clean! Very friendly environment and the staff is awesome! Lexi takes her job very seriously and it shows

Dirty, dirty, dirty. Nobody at this gym knows how to clean their sweat off of the equipment they use. The staff all sit behind the desk with their heads buried in the phones or the computers. This place could be a great gym if it was not so filthy and unkept.
Ive been coming here for years, but today I struck up a convo with Lexi. Shes very friendly and offers a welcoming presence. Not to mention the gym was spotless with her on the clock. I look forward to coming more in the future
Came on Sunday to discuss memberships and the manager seemed angry. Upon entry I wasnt even greeted (was on her phone) also wasnt even offered a tour to see what this gym had- informed me that the membership options where online... Dont recommend this location. Rude management- Will not be joining. Higher management should reinforce customer service...

Now this company has changed hours and you cant get in after 7 pm if you have a regular membership, which is what I signed up with in September because at the time I could come after work hours! Not only that, they do not have even one employee there, and this is weeks before they changed hours for access. No wonder people are flocking to Planet Fitness.
Just signed up for Charter fitness today with a breeze. Shoutout to Lexi the receptionist. She was very informed of what the memberships entitle and mad me feel as if I belonged to be here. Can’t wait to begin my membership💯

The gym is fine however the reason for the one star is the parking problem. When you pay for a membership you should have a place to park. Driving around twenty minutes is not acceptable. There should be dedicated parking for members ONLY. I assume Charter pays rent, this should include parking spaces. If this isnt fixed soon I will be changing gyms.
I am a new member to Charter Fitness and I am so pleased with the service I received from Mary Dore! She was so helpful when I came in to get a membership and made the process so easy! I will definitely be recommending Charter Fitness in Alsip to everyone I know!
The Alsip Charter Fitness Branch is clean and well run. I particularly enjoy the team training classes. April and Renettes Tread and Shed classes are great, both instructors run the class slightly differently but both are excellent and dedicated trainers and keep me motivated. Highly recommended!

The facility itself is great for $10 monthly if that was ultimately the case. In sales there always needs to be honestly and transparency. A lot of these gyms simply have to rely on volume by design because of the nature of the market and the fact that there are hundreds of options to choose from for customers. The front desk people have to be trained by their managers or supervisors on how to be honest and direct when selling a client a membership. Not sharing or disclosing something (or saying it so freaking fast that its a blurt) is the same as lying. If there is a hundred dollars or so in additional fees or charges - then say so!! Big deal!! It ends up averaging $20 monthly for the customer. (Have faith that you have a good enough product that is worth the asking price!) But when you dont share that, you run the real risk of loosing a customer. I want to lift here because its right up the street from me but now Im so upset that Im willing to pay the unnecessary and shady cancellation fee of $75

The picture on map view is old and doesnt show this location. But its where the Sear was.We pay under 25 a month. We get access to a clean gym with good machines and a non-disruptive environment. A great place to workout :)
This location is by far one of the best, the facility is clean and has a great variety of equipment! Management always interacts with guest which gives this location a community atmosphere. Well recommended.

My wife and I have tried twice to cancel our account since they closed our gym in Burbank and moved us to Alsip. First my wife was required to drive over 30 minutes to cancel the account in person, which she gladly did. They assured her the account was now closed and that we would no longer be charged. We were charged again the very next month. First we had to call the billing company, who couldnt do anything to help us and told us to call the gym. After a 15 minute hold on the phone, the manager assured us that NOW we would no longer be charged. And now I see that we have been charged again for a third time this month. Needless to say, we are very angry.
Kathy is very helpful and the entire staff at Charter is amazing and they all know how to maintain a nice and clean gym.

Its a clean, reasonably priced gym with a decent selection of equipment. Its usually not too crowded and offers group classes and personal training for those interested. I would recommend for the general fitness enthusiast.

Its spacious and clean. The patrons and employees are nice and welcoming. If you are looking for personal training, I highly recommend Garrick. Hes knowledgeable and will definitely kick your butt!
Close to home, usually clean around the machines, wish my “$40” equipment fee was actually being of use on these treadmill belts that probably haven’t been changed since they opened... overall staff friendly and good atmosphere
Absolutely horrible experience. Make sure you read every word of your contract before you sign it. There are HIDDEN FEES EVERYWHERE! The management doesnt care about customer service after you sign that piece of paper. If they wanted to keep people coming in they shouldnt purposely hide fees everywhere. They will lose several peoples business as a result of not refunding me for a renewal that I never agreed to when the salesmen sold me my membership. Again, read that teeny tiny little print before you give all your money away to Charter Fitness.

The gym is clean, and staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is definitely an issue at this location, come around noon when there is a lot less people or you will spend forever trying to find parking.

I’ve been going to this gym since 2016. It’s a solid gym. But the 24/7 access is a miss especially with the open path app it’s too finicky.
Always overcrowded at peek hours. Parking can be challenging at these times. Locker room floors need cleaning more often as there is always filth and garbage lying around. Otherwise a convenient location to workout.

Lots of treadmills for cardio, free weights and variety of machines. I like the separate room available with weights that gives you space to do ab workouts

Does anyone even work here anymore since they went 24 hours? I keep trying to ask questions about my membership or buy a water from their stupid vending machine but there’s never anyone at the front desk anymore.
This place was clean, now there lacking..Always issues with clean towels...*No towels Dirty equipment*If they have towels there dirty and stink.Too many people sitting in front desk no point to have employees just to be on there phones. SMH 😑 BUT THERE QUICK TO GET YOUR MONEY!

Parking was bad already but has gotten worse since that childrens indoor playground moved next door. I wasted a couple of trips going. No where to park. Day and night, its horrible.

2022-06-01This is a great gym I go here every day and I bring my friend every day we are both below 18, I was never told about the policy that you have to be above 18 to bring someone and we both were kicked out even tho I have a membership?. He said we both have to leave. I have never had a problem with bringing my friends. If I would have known I couldn’t bring people I would not have signed up. If people can come after staff leaves and sneak in why can’t I bring one of my friends with me ?.

2022-06-21The charter fitness alsip location is my favorite place to workout. The workers are friendly, the gym is clean, and there’s space to do whatever you have planned for your workout. I also like the new open path feature which makes the gym accessible at all times.

2022-04-13The assistant manager at this location is completely unprofessional and needs to learn how to talk to people. By far the worst experience I’ve encountered with this gym. Sad to see people represent a company like this.

2022-02-08Great neighborhood gym. Ive been a member for over 5 years and aside the business next door taking up parking on the weekends, I have no complaints. The staff is always helpful, the gym is clean and Ive met some great indivduals. The atmosphere allows you to be comfortable with yourself and the new updates and equipment are a plus. Thank you to management and the entire Cfx team for always providing a great experience.

2021-05-21Amazing gym and great staff, I went to a couple of gyms before finding Charter Fitness. I was able to find a great personal trainer David who helped me form a personalized fitness plan and guide me through my workouts. The gym is 24/7 open it is always clean and welcoming. I highly recommend Charter Fitness Alsip.

2021-02-03Almost done with my 7 day free trial and i must say, this gym and the employees here are fantastic. David at the front desk has helped me accommodate to the scene and has been more than helpful. I look forward to signing up this Friday. AND they have GREAT BODY WASH in the showers which you never see at the Planet Fitness or Commercial run of the mill gyms. Love this place and cant wait to be a part of it.

2021-03-05Been going to this gym for a long time and it’s only gotten better. When you walk in all you see is people working hard and the staff working even harder. One staff member in particular is Kathy. I see her every morning and she always has a smile on her face as she makes sure the gym is nice and clean at all times. Keep it up!

2020-10-15Honestly the best and cleanest gym I’ve come across this far. Though it may not seem much at first glance, the staff really make it amazing. I’m always been met with the friendliest staff that want to ensure you have the best workout whenever you walk in. One of the managers Eddie really goes out of his way by accommodating any requests patrons may have. Would highly recommend
