Carnicerias Jimenez in other cities:
Love the supermarket and prices. Its always clean and workers are friendly. The reason I am giving it only four stars is because they desperately need to hire someone that speaks English in the butcher/meat area. It gets frustrating trying to communicate with someone when we cant understand each other. Im totally cool with having majority non-English speaking workers and applaud it. I know its a grocery store that caters to Mexican/Latino folks. However others do go there for groceries and having a way to communicate in the one area of the store where its needed is important.
I love this place for the imported goods. On the downside, might no be there fault 100%, but sometimes not all the good stuff is available and is a bit overpriced. I guess is the price you have to pay to have a little taste of your homeland. Staff is not customer service oriented but is not terrible. The store is very clean and tidy always.
Hello there ! I have never been inside of your store,I gave you a 5 star after reading your reviews because I wanted to say I didnt know you had a restaurant inside I do Love Mexican food I will have to stop in sometime and I will check out your bakery! I could use a few extra calories lol
It is a great place if you would like to get Hispanic items. Almost all the employees are nice but we need to understand that this job is hard because no all the customers are nice at them. Sometimes the same Hispanic people is so rude at them.I love the taqueria, I could eat daily there but no the bakery, hahaha. I bought a small flan but was with no taste. Only in this case when I want/need a flan, cake or pastry, I am going to Fruit Market.
All the workers here seem very nice and friendly and want to be helpful. Unfortunately, I dont speak Spanish very well and thats all they speak here. I was disappointed that they didnt have the refrigerated biscuit dough in a tube. Not a popular item here I guess. The manager told me he doesnt carry them anymore because they would expire too often before being sold. I was able to get some produce at a good price though.
Its been years that I do some grocery shopping there and is never been any complain, the meat is good and fresh better than other Mexican groceries stores near, the hot food at the restaurant inside is SOO GOOD!! and the prices are pretty fair, the staff is really nice and friendly and the store looks clean enough for me.
I bough ground beef and chicken on Thursday afternoon. I wanted to avoid the big lines on Saturday for the 4. Saturday when I was prepping the meet and chicken everything was bad. The ground beef was dark in color and the chicken had a very bad stink order. I return the beef but didn’t realize the chicken was bad until later so I had to trough it out. I fined it hard to believe that your meats will go bad in one day. Very disappointed with explanation. They won’t give me a full credit for my chicken because they supposedly need the chicken back. Something fishy going on there. Maybe I should call the health department!? And report the issue....
All the food dishes at the restaurant (eat in or to go!) are delicious & hot! Butcher meats are awesome quality for great prices too! Fruits & vegetables are ready to eat & better than other store prices usually! All breads, cakes, rolls & sweets are baked right there fresh daily & WAY better prices compared to area bakeries too! Workers are super helpful & sweet always, even if some can not speak English, they will try to help me or find me someone who can get me assistance. I 💝💝💝 this place & so do my kids 😀!!
I purchased my bakery items in the bakery. When I went to the cashier to buy my other grocery items, I made sure to keep my bakery items in the cart so I wouldn’t be double charged. When I got home I saw on the receipt that the cashier charged me for the bakery items anyway so I was double charged and paid for pastries twice. Very disappointed and will not return
Store has a variety of products and decent prices, but as far of the inside restaurant and homemade food they sell by the deli section employees are very rude not friendly and dont use proper sanitation definitely thumps down. But dont take my word go see for yourself 👎👎
Great Mexican grocery store with fresh fruits and meats. They have a dine-in and takeout mini restaurant with authentic Mexican dishes and goodies. You can order catering mexican dishes, which are decent priced and delicious. Additionally they have an extensive Mexican bakery. Would rate 5 stars if customer service improved.
I come here all the time to buy my meats and other things since its convenient for me here in addison. Now I know its the fourth and it may be busy, I tried to call ahead to see what time they are open up to, a lady answered the phone in spanish and I tried to answer in english to ask what time Jimenez is open to, she answered me back in spanish and I didnt know what she said in spanish and then just hanged on me😔. I know its a Hispanic supermarket but someone has to understand/speak some English at least.
As I was growing up we hardly had any adults around us was watching us kids. We loved being outside, riding our bikes, playing kick ball, tag etc.We rarely were discriminated when we lived at such predominantly white American neighborhood. One thing I was very happy and proud of was my Mexican family. My grandmother(abuelita) and aunts/uncles(tias.tios) were always there to take care of us when my parents were at work. Carnecerias Jimenez always make the elements more memorable and makes it feel like home!!🌸🌟
I found 60% or so toothpick in my bread when eating it.. that’s nasty and not just that but when paying they found a tray of spoiled bread.. some green stuff on it ... and all the bread taste the same and not in a good wayVery disappointed.. recently moved to the area and the first thing I try and it bad ...so much for wanting a good enjoyable breakfast
Im not the shopping type. My wife usually does all the grocery shopping. I wanted to surprise her for her bday and have a cookout. I wanted some arrachera. Im very satisfied with my entire experience except for long wait at the butcher station. I waited for 30 minutes for 5lbs of meat. I guess if youre doing the rest of your grocery shopping and come back to pick up your meat its not such a bad situation. All I needed was the meat. My wait seemed like an eternity.
The restaurant has very good food but the service is vey bad The Cashier is very rude she doesnt like for you to call to see what there serving that day . She has even hung up on us so she wont have to answer it. I was in yesterday late at around 6 and the guy who serving the food is very rude and tries to rush you through the order. He always rolling his eyes like hurry up and he doesnt want to deal with you. He is also very lazy if you ask for something on the menu board he says no that only done on special ocassion so he wont have to cook it and you can order only what has been cooked for that day. They need better service.
I like the great verity of fruits, vegetables and meats. Always find what I need. The thing I dont like and is very unpleasant is the people (red cross Nurses) from I dont know where are always asking for money either at the entrance but mostly at the EXIT! Makes me not want to go to Jimenez.... MANY people I talk to hate it as well.... Gypsies in the Parking lot also trying to sell you flowers. I dont think Jimenez should allows them in their property. The nuns are Great, they dont ask you for money, you go to them if you wish to purchas an item.
Please REFUND ME MY MONEYI went on Monday July 30 2018 and had a TERRIBLE EXPIERANCE THIS PLACE IS BAD STAY AWAY ORDERED TWO CARNITAS TACOS AND TWO DINNER PLATES FOOD WAS COLD LIKE ACTUALLY COLD ,CARNITAS WERE OLD N DRY VERY OLD SMELLED RANCID EMPLOYESS PRETENDED TO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH SO THEY COULD TRY N OVERCHARGE US WHEN WE SAT DOWN I HEARD THEM HAVING A CONVERSATION IN ENGLISH I AM DISSAPOINTED THEY REPRESANT MEXICAN CULTURE THIS POORLY ...I WANT MY MONEY BACK SERIOUSLY I NEED THE OWNER TO REACH OUT AND REFUND ME IT WAS THAT BAD 1 star is GENEROUS!!!!
I love Jimenez! There used to be one in Streamwood, but it closed down a while ago. Moved to Addison and am happy that I can find many of the foods which cater to my culture. The weekly specials are awesome, and often times there are good deals in produce such as on limes. The meat counter is organized even on the weekends, they use the tickets with numbers and once your number is up they are quick to pack what you request. Dont forget to stop and get a taco; they have a little dine in area where you can order food and aguas frescas.

2022-04-01Deep back on that small strip of a few shops (where the thrift store used to be at), you will find plenty of parking and easy access off the West bound on Lake street.Going past Jewel’s, next to the Dollar tree store, you will find one of the most complete Hispanic influenced groceries stores. With its little “Michoacana” ice cream/snack shop.Wheelchair accessible, and pretty friendly as to most needs, you could find the most popular groceries a Hispanic dish may require, as well as your typical household needs. They have a bakery, which bakes all kinds Mexican style pastries. As well as other party, cooking, pantry, and storage supplies.Give it a try. Lots of options.

2022-03-07Has lots of Mexican products varieties. I like the store but some products may be a little over price and you can find at stores like Walmart for cheaper. I dont really go there much no more. I use to go there more when they were in Bensenville. They can have some pretty good weekly deals.

2022-05-05Very friendly and not so crowded, love how they have meats pre packed for single people like me who dont need to stand in line for 1 pound needed. Would definitely go back to this location.

2022-05-05Is a good place to buy Mexican food, but some prices are quite high... baquery is good, but the quality of the bread or presentation is not the best in some items, like they are really good on cakes.
