I have lived here in Blue Island and this is the only place that I will go to for my haircuts. The price is minimal and the care is superb. The beauticians can only be on the floor after completing so many hours. They listen to what you want and they take their time. My haircuts usually take about an hour but I like it because it’s being done precisely how I want it. There’s also a supervisor always walking around checking up on the girls to make sure that the hair is being cut properly.

DONT GO HERE!! My wife was looking forward to starting her cosmetology program when she enrolled, but since her first day, the staff and administration have made one thing clear: they do not care. She goes to the Commercial location and they do not have vision for their school, the curriculum, or the flourishing of their students. We pay out of pocket for a $14,000+ education where her daily experience is wasting time doing what she could learn from watching YouTube videos or reading a textbook at home.While the school has never been organized or structured, COVID-19 made it very clear that Cannella School of Hair Design didnt have the decency to contact students with any information or updates while the stay-at-home orders were in place. They ignored emails and left students in the dark on how the pandemic would affect their clock hours and graduation dates.They live up to their reputation of only caring about the money and not the actual education and experience theyre supposed to provide. Theyve consistently been mediocre in how they run their business and its literally keeping students from being able to take their state exams for licensure and pursue careers as independent beauty professionals. If my wife would have known how awful her experience would be, she would have never enrolled here.I 100% do not recommend.

,... these are students,... this is a professionally run, classroom environment,... I give every student whom has worked on my hair - full credit for trying their very best, for me,... the people who manage this business produce hair-cutting professionals,... I have met them and they are dedicated to ensure that everyone leaves with value for their money,... I have been coming to this business for 5 years, for hair work,... I have enjoyed all of my hair appointments and would recommend anyone who wants to save money on hair appointments and or learn what is involved at the educational level,... to experience this student salon,... you will always get a good price for your hair work,... and you will learn by watching what it takes to be good, at hair work. Enjoy the experience.

I heard a bad review on here and they couldnt been talking about the Blue Island location. Everyone is usually nice including the instructors. In the many years Ive been going there I had 2 complaints: My daughters braids took too long to do and my braids didnt look like a soin to graduate student did it. I had to take it down. Money wasted but that didnt stop me from trying again and the next time it was great.I pray they get more students that have a passion for this and more braiders too.

I went to get a wash and curl on my natural hair. Around 4pm. Was greeted given a price for services which she had difficulty in determining to later find out she is an instructor. I go to a student who washed my hair well but had O IDEA HOW TO BLOWDRY STYLE OR CURL MY HAIR. the instructors were of no assistance and i saw no supervising to speak of. Do not waste ur time or money. Go anywhere else. Complete disappointment.

Terrible. Rude instructers n wow the students are the rudiest. Ghetto. I have been to better places then this. Unprofessional. Money hungry place. Instructors must not know how to do hair because 90% of the students there are terrible. Smhh!! I had to give it a undeserved star or it wouldnt let me post!!😡

BEWARE!! THIS PLACE IS FORFEIT THEY WILL CHARGE YOU AS IF YOURE AT A ACTUAL SALON! ALMOST 100 DOLLAR FOR BRAIDS!! IF THE MONEY IS NOT GOING TO STUDENTS WHICH IT SHOULD, BECUASE THERE FINANCIAL AID AT THIS PLACE WHERE IS GOING TO? YOU DO THE MATH. THERES A LADY AT THE FRONT DESK WITH A FRO WHOS MAKING UP PRICES, BECAUSE THERE ISNT A LIST OF SERVICES/PRICES. SHE TOLD ME 65$ FOR JUST 6 BRIADS AND ALMOST 50 FOR 2! THIS IS REALLY SAD, AND TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY SHE GAVE ME SUCH A HARD TIME WITH PRICING, BUT TELLS THE LEAST ATTRACTIVE WOMEN DONT WORRY I GOT YOU. WOW! SO IF YOURE ATTRACTIVE SHE WILL HIJACK THE PRICE! WHAT. A ENVIOUS, JEALOUS WOMEN!
