Burrito Parrilla Mexicana - Batavia in other cities:
~$18 for a steak burrito dinner that doesnt come with a drink... and the fountain drink is an extra $4..(Fun fact) Thats how these owners make their profit margins... Nickle and diming people on fountain drinks,.Thats a fairly expensive burrito by all standards... BUT, I was hoping it was going to be great food and thats why It was pricey... But it was D tier Mexican food at best unfortunately in my opinion.
For our 1st time there we were impressed. The portions were huge and they didnt skimp on the proteins. Add in real freshly made Churros with chocolate and caramel dipping sauces. Very yummy! For two dinners with drinks and the dessert it was a respectable at just under $30.00.The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The dining area was very clean!Bravo!
Had the steak, carnitas, and a pastor tacos with a side of rice and beans, I would have to say they are better than your fast food chain Mexican restaurantd but not nearly as good or as authentic as your mom and pop Mexican restaurants. Their beans and rice were ok at best, salsa was bland and chips were not fresh or homemade . Probably will not go back as there are much better mom and pop Mexican restaurants in the area.
I have ordered from this place a few times now and they can’t ever get anything right. I know better than to order food but they purposely go out of there way to mess up food for my family. This restaurant shouldn’t be serving food if the people can’t even take correct orders
My family and I have come to this place often. Aguas frescas are really good and enjoy the complementary chips and salsa. Weve known its a pricier than your average Mexican restaurant but theyve recently seemed to have increased their prices again so that was unpleasant. With that said, we havent had issues with the food. Its always pretty good.
I never want to be the person that calls 5 minutes before closing; unfortunately that ended up being the case when we needed last minute steak tacos and already have one restaurant ignore my call so i expected the same reaction. However they answered and were able to take my order. They were super understanding and had them ready in by the time I walked in the door (about 4 minutes from when I made the call). They were super helpful and even gave us some extra guac! Thank you again for the tacos I really do appreciate it!!!!
First time ever here. I LOVE Mexican food. Overall, it could have been worse, but the chips were stale, which made it difficult to decide if the salsa was good. I ended up throwing the chips away. Considering the size of the burrito I ordered (it was HUGE), two little containers of green and red sauces was not enough, but the burrito itself had a good flavor. Ill probably try again, but will ask for more sauces next time.
I know tacos and this place, in fa t Im very particular about my tacos and this place is up there with the best of them. Flavor, portions, freshness, theyre firing on all cylinders. Did I mention they have a drive through and pack everything in super neat abd convenient containers..
Good food, a little pricey but its probably the best and most consistent Mexican place in the area. The tortas come with lots of toppings including avocado and cheese which is nice. The horchata is hit or miss some days but i love that they have desserts and a drive thru.
Ive been here a few times and while I still prefer a burrito from one of the hole in the wall places, this place does deliver in a good way.One thing that this place has that the hole in the wall places dont is a great presentation of their fajitas to go. They travel well and they have great flavor. They always seem to overcook the steak but it still comes out fine.Only complaint is that it does take quite a while to get your order. This is because they cook most of the meats to-order. So I didnt fault them for that, still 5 stars.Good quality, presentation, and flavor. Also, when you dine-in you get chips and salsa wich is real nice for a semi-fast food place.
Fresh, fresh, fresh...everything was delicious. I enjoyed the carnitas. The pork was slow roasted, tender and full of flavor. This place was immaculate with a designated person to sanitize each area as people moved in and out.I will definitely return for more menu options.
Gotta be honest. I was totally bummed out when White Castle shut down. That said,. Burrito Parrilla is a great place. Its quick. Its fresh. And beats the nextdoor Taco Bell by miles and miles.A large and diverse menu, with customization allowed. Price is reasonable compared to comparable options.I would recommend to anyone, and we will continue to return to them.Good food. Great food
I ordered from this restaurant through the drive-thru for our dinner at 2:30 PM. It was my first time! I felt good when I saw there was a car in front of me and minutes later a car behind me!I ordered the grilled chicken burritos for my husband and me. THEY WERE DELICIOUS!!! I live in Yorkville, about 15 miles away, I will go there every time I am shopping on Randall Road! The chicken was big, delicious pieces you could taste! Great flavor for a burrito! The only drawback was the wait, BUT, it was 💯% WORTH THE WAIT! I didn’t mind. It turned out to be one of the very best visits for fast food that I have ever eaten!!! I can’t wait to go back and try other menu items!! THANK YOU!
Just catered my sons graduation party from here....OMG - AMAZING food!!!Food was packaged in serving trays, and packed into heavy duty boxes, made for very easy transport.Ordered for 60 ppl. 60 ppl showed up and everyone ate..We did the Chicken and steak Fajitas..All the food was very flavorful, and tender. The only leftovers we had were of the sides. If you cater from here, print out where you got the food, or youll be repeating it to your guests al night...lol.Highly Highly recommend catering from Burrito Parrilla!*** cannot wait to eat at there restaurant***
Freshest ingredients, so much flavor and ingredients work together so well. Its style is comparable to salsa verde but this place does what salsa verde does not since salsa verde is garbage. If you are looking for fresh mexican food similar to chipotle but better then I highly recommend here. Have the best vegetarian options Ive ever seen for a Mexican place as they offer zucchini and squash burrito thats to die for. Churros are delicious.
Generally I love Burrito Parilla. I prefer to go to the West Chicago location but occasionally go to the one in Batavia if it is more convenient and I am over that way. The three stars is for the Batavia location. I love the carnitas and the white poblano sauce is delicious. For the other meats I have had better elsewhere. The grilled veggies are good but way to chunky to be putting in a taco. I got 2 peices of veg and they wouldnt stay in because the chunks were so big! I had to eat the veggies and the tortilla separately. I ordered my son a jr. burrito with beef extra cheese very easy on the lettuce and beans. What I got was a jr beef burrito with very little cheese and extra lettuce and beans. Child only ate half of it after having to try to dissect it a bit. The person taking my order seemed as if he were in a hurry to end my order and kept saying is that it, is that it, is that it sometimes before I had finished the last word of what I was saying. My husbands chicken burrito also mostly ended up in the trash because the chicken was dry and hard 🤢 Why hard? The chips were on the way to being stale but the guacamole was good. The rest of the order was fine but on the cold side when I got it home which isnt very far. If this rating was for the West Chicago location I would give it 5 stars. The people who work there are always super nice and make you feel welcome. The food is always delicious from there and still hot when I get it home. The chicken is tender and juicy and the chips are always fresh. I will continue to go to the West Chicago location for my fix but I am done with the Batavia store, convenient or not.
WOW! Amazing. After having a really bad experience at the Saint Charles Olive Garden, this was a refreshing experience. Very clean, enjoyable atmosphere with friendly staff. The menu is awesome. You must try the vegetarian burrito and the taco pastor with pineapple. Will be coming back for more.
Like most everything on the menu but I would not recommend the beef as it is flavorless. Taco Bell beef tacos have a lot more flavor. It is expensive. I average $23 every time I eat here and I don’t get that much food. Used to love this place but I do not plan to eat here as much. Last time I ordered carnitas there was a bunch of bone and bristle in my tacos and they tasted gamey. It is a pretty good Mexican restaurant but they have some things to work on overall.
We visited during lunch. The tacos had much more meat than the other pseudo fast food Mexican restaurants in the area. The burrito was very large. We tried the carnitas and El Pastor which were both flavorful. The burrito had a very large bone in it. This is a good thing showing it was homemade but a bad thing if you were to accidentally bite into it. They serve the cinnamon rice milk and pineapple juice in large self serve containers. Very good. They bring chips and three dips to the table. We will go back for dinner.
Burrito was sub par at best. Asked for no beans they made it with beans and slapped a piece of cheese on top and called that suiza style. GROSS. Two tacos tortillas were literally dripping in juice. Corn tortillas simply fell apart. GROSS! I placed my order online thinking it would alleviate any possible kitchen stress. Order said I would be ready in 15. I got their intentionally late to stand inside for 20 as I watched them completely cook my order. The cooks we confused on the burrito order and asked the girl on their expo line what it was and how to make it.Instead of the expo asking the customer standing 5ft away she said the wrong thing. Therefore telling the cooks to make it incorrectly. The cooks you could tell we’re hustling and there helper was as well. The girl on the final expo was completely off. Needs a little lesson in customer service. I also left a tip.My first time eating at burrito parilla and I’ll be happy to dine again at SALSA VERDE not here.
SKIMPING OUT ON MEATThe meat itself is just fine. BUTI ordered a taco bowl meal tonight and they loaded it up 3/4ths of the way with the toppings I had with the meat. This is not the first time this has happened, in fact this happens most times that I order from here. Well, this is my last time here. Fed up with getting skimped out on what I ordered. I had high hopes for this place.
Fantastic food. To the average business white guy that was in there a few minutes ago. They don’t have wait staff. You order your food, they make it, and either call your name or bring it to you. You left angry looking in your fancy black car because you sat yourself and then waited when there is a register and menu. You missed out on great food too.
Entire meal very undercooked and SOGGY!I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the burrito, the only taste was from the beans, and worst was the texture was like tuna fish or cat food 😭Churros were also TOTALLY UNCOOKED.Your best bet is driving next door to get taco bell. TACO BELL has awful food - and its better than this.
Unfortunately not a good first time visit. I ordered a pork torta and received a chicken torta full of mayonnaise and cheese. The chicken was soft but flavorless..Chipotles is much better. My husband ordered the steak burrito with a side of rice and black beans. Everything was flavorless..you need the sauces to give it flavor and Im not a big fan of sauces. I feel like the food itself should have flavor. Use garlic, cayenne pepper, onions, cilantro and maybe pepper. Hopefully it gets better.
Fast/Casual Tex/Mex in a pleasant atmosphere: The corn tortilla steak tacos were tasty with grilled onions on top. Bottles of various taco sauces are already on the tables, to top these delicacies. Chips and perfect salsa are gratis. Lastly; A wide variety of beverages are available.
I visited this establishment for the first time tonight around 8:45 PM. The tacos we had that included tomatoes had a bad taste. I went up to the only caucasian girl with red hair to let them know. The only response I received from her was I will have someone check on it. Her attitude clearly did not show any concern or apology. I will not be returning. Not impressed with this place!!
Ordered a chorizo burrito and nachos with beef. Burrito was well balanced and nachos had fresh ingredients. Came in study recyclable to go containers. Waited about 10 minutes in the drive through. Service was friendly. A little on the pricy side for drive through but was pleased with the food overall. Wish the nachos were a little lighter on the cheese and heavier on the fresh veggies/guacamole. That said had enough for left overs the next day. Ill be back again and prefer over places like Chipotle.
Go to the West Chicago one, its much better! 2 steak burrito dinners and we got guac instead of sour cream and asked for limes at the speak and window but then didnt receive them... $30 poorly spent... I DO NOT like onions, let alone guac... Super sad I didnt get to eat my meal.
I know this location just opened up and they are still trying to get the recipes right, so this is an early review which will be improved on in time as the employees have gotten feedback from the customers to help improve any issues with the menu...Everything I ordered was done as well as the Carol Stream location that Ive ordered in the past. The burrito was a very generous portion, the only issue I had was there was a large piece of inedible fat in the burrito that I had, so thats not a big problem since its bound to happen at some point when cutting up the pork for the burrito. The only improvement that I would have for this location is that the black beans that came with my order were just a little over salted. If you look past that little issue, then I would easily say this is a 5-star quick dinner/lunch spot.
I was not going to make a review or even mentioned what happened on a Wednesday morning but this was unacceptable. I came here Friday and I thought the worker that YELLED at my husband and I would be fired but I guess not. I immediately left after seeing that they still keep a worker that is incredibly rude and doesn’t not care about the customers. The worker took my order and her name started with a K, I had thrown the receipt away because this restaurant wasn’t even worth it anymore. Never coming to a more rude and disrespectful place. some serious anger issues she has
Tonight was my very first order. I would rather have had a choice of bread. They only offered flour for the burrito. Once I got home, I just switched out the flour for my preference towards whole grain. The veggie burrito was the BEST! They offered samples of various types of salsa. Yummy! The drive-through was a breeze. And the staff was very friendly. For some reasons part of our order was WRONG! But, DICLIOUS! This is my re-enhanced Veggie Burrito. The slices of avocado and the whole grain bread was added my ME.
Tasty! Took a little long in the drive through but the order was correct and that makes me happy. A little pricey but decently done and higher quality than the establishment next door. Reduced a star bc wait and price but next time I will know what to expect. Different menu inside vs drive thru menu. Ill try indoors next time!
This place is great food there a little pricier but you get what you pay for the food is delicious or torta is out of this world. their beef tacos are absolutely delicious steak tacos are great chicken quesadillas are great. I highly recommend trying their churros theyre delicious. when you go and visit they give you chips and salsa and they give you a bunch of different sauces which is really nice or totally different from each other.
GOOGLE IS DELETING BAD REVIEWS HERE. MY FRIEND ALSO REVIEWED THIS PLACE YESTERDAY AND THE REVIEW WAS DELETED. ITS BECAUSE THE OWNER IS A MULTIMILLIONAIRE. I AM SCREENSHOTING THIS REVIEW AND WILL POST IT TO YELP AND YAHOO NEXT. The reviews here have to be fake. Went during lunch and it was almost empty. The tacos cost over $3!!!! And the dinner items cost $20. Last I checked this is fast food. The owner is a retired senior executive from McDonald’s who is a multi millionaire. He is completely disconnected with reality.
Very pricey for the quality.Salsa tastes like canned tomato puree (i.e. - not actually fresh) with just a sprinkle of cilantro and onion for flavor. Aftertaste honestly more like an Italian tomato sauce than a fresh salsa.Despite being opening day, service was more like Taco Bell with generally aloof employee attitude in store. Fountain was partially disabled as well with no cold water tap (basically forcing us to buy a drink).Horchata is excessively sweet and not refreshing.Meat is generally decently cooked, but lacks a punch of flavor. Rice undercooked a bit but not bad. Black beans basically unflavored beside salt.Probably not going to return... Better quality/price ratio available nearby.
Pricier than other places I visit... but the quality of the meats.. steak, breaded steak, chicken, lengua etc.... is exceptional. I dont mind paying a lil bit more for higher quality meats. Really really good. Like that they have a drive thru... and its pretty fast when u go thru it. True authentic Mexican food btw... not Mexican american... love that their steak tacos come with sauteed red onions instead of traditional white/yellow raw onions.. (if you order it with onions, cilantro & cheese)
Amazing place with very friendly staff and owner.I love all their locations, my husband delivers for them (usually in Carol Stream)so im also 100% sure they have extremely clean kitchens and fresh food! Thanks for opening this new location in Batavia, is the closest to us! Will be going as frequently as we can! Tried the chimichanga (very big plate and delicious) and burritos, desserts as well!
Ive only been to this location once for their soft opening but the food was the same excellent quality/taste as the other locations Ive been to (Lisle, Lombard and Naperville). Since it was the soft opening the place was a little crazy but I had more issues with rude customers then I did the employees. They make the flour tortillas which are little clouds of heaven. Im not sure if the corn tortillas are homemade. One reviewer said the salsa tastes like tomato sauce but I disagree, Taco Madres salsa is tomato sauce. Its not the signature dish but it is good; keep in mind its not pico de gallo, its salsa. The steak has a great marinade which makes it tender and good smoke flavor. The carnitas is super tender and delicious. The avocado salsa is creamy and spicy. Ive been to a lot of Mexican restaurants and I would say Burrito Parrilla is consistently good with high quality ingredients; hopefully the Batavia location follows suit!
Very very expensive and I don’t feel it’s worth the price. The ingredients might be a little better than other Mexican restaurants but it’s debatable. Even if they were better the price is not justified. Close to $4 for some tacos and dinner plates are a lot of money between $15-$20. If prices were half I would be back
I do like this place but it constantly happens ... I make my order they repeat I get to window pay... Get home realize they have not given me everything thing I ordered correctly. I get it accidents happen but this is my third time I jus figured maybe some one should know
Waayyyyy overpriced. They have dinner entrees at $20 and tacos for over $3. No other Mexican restaurants in the area charges this plus this is fast food they are crazy for charging these prices.your better off going to tacos el Sazon just minutes from there in Batavia near the river where the food is prepared to order not sitting in visible bins.
Highly priced.. Food is good.. However, we(family) usually go here on a Friday night and we decided to go one day early(3p.m.) the waiter was annoyed, I asked him to please hold on our extras for when we leave and he came and said here and put it on the table. Then he was talking in spanish about, omg, they wont leave and I want to go home. Little did he know I speak 3 different languages. We kept eating our dinner. Then 2 young girls came out litterly yelling, running in the restaurant banging some pot laughing and went in the bathroom. My husband just looked at me and said, lets go. As I got up, the manager, wich we speak to everytime, was jaw dropping when she noticed it was our family. I wished her a good evening and havent been back since. This is the most disrespectful spanish restaurant Ive been to so far..

2022-03-14I have been eating at this location since they opened, and have never had a negative thing to say about this wonderful business. The inside of the restaurant is clean, the kitchen is one of the cleanest I have ever seen, and the food is fresh and fantastic. Customer service is great, easy to access location and plenty of parking. They have a drive thru that is handy for pickup if you use their online ordering system or order on location. I continue to recommend Burrito Parilla for those who want fresh, quality Mexican food. Very happy to see their continued success in opening more locations!

2022-03-20The best AL Pastor meat around, I got the AL Pastor Torta, its huge, its so good. Steak tacos are seasoned so well, not just little pieces of tasteless meat. Definitely recommend giving them a try.

2022-05-27Was so good, I was pleasantly suprised! They were accommodating to our family who had all ages and brought out a bday treat for my sisters birthday and I dont even remember telling them it was her birthday. There was something on the menu for everyone and the food was marinated well and juicy. We will be back, thank you for the great service and experience!

2022-03-17I ordered the steak torta with a side of beans and rice. I also tried a taco al pastor and the churos. I was blown away by the quality of the steak and food overall. Nice big full portions. The taco itself was nice and girthy. I pretty much paid for two meals. Great service. I will definitely be going back!
