I was in the area going back home to Indianapolis from a basketball tournament when my car broke down. Thankfully, I took it to Burds. I had so many miles on that car and too much wrong with it to even waste the money to fix it.They made my kids feel comfortable while helping us find a rental car to get back home and let us store our car there until we found a junk yard to pick it up. Bill and Sabrina are amazing people with big hearts. I only wish I lived closer so they could work on my cars and I could see them more.
Burds auto bays is the best place to take your car. The people are friendly and polite. The owner Bill is amazing he has been working on my cars for years and has always treated me fairly and fixed whatever was wrong. I highly recommend this shop and they will fix what others cant.
I have been going to Burds for many years, and now my grown children go there too. As a single woman who knows nothing about cars, I know that they will only fix what needs to be fixed and not try to rip me off. They are honest, friendly, and professional mechanics. Their prices are fair, probably not the cheapest, probably not the most expensive. Try them!
My husband and I were looking for a new place near our house and we decided to go the burds. They have been nothing but excellent. My husbands transmission went, they could not fix it because of warranty issues but they helped us as much as possible to get his car to where they could fix it. They are in the middle of fixing my ac now and he didnt charge me an arm and leg for it. We will be long time customers for sure.
I have been taking my vehicles to Burds for approximately 17 years. Bill and his organization have always been very professional and they have always performed quality work. I would strongly recommend Burds Auto Bays if you are looking for a mechanic who will do the right thing, and do work you can depend on!
Ive known Bill for more than 40 years. Hes a first class, stand up guy who treats people right and a master certified mechanic. His shop is clean & friendly. I highly recommend him!
Burds has been a Savior, they can do it all from oil change to engine change. I will keep bringing my vehicles here.

Excellent service and friendly owner. I always make an appointment at 8am and they change oil in 40-50 mins with very reasonable price. Jiffy Lube is faster but very expensive compare to this place.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER....The issue was never resolved. Had to have my vehicle towed so was at the mercy of Bill Burd...WHAT A MISTAKE! To make matters worse, transmission starts acting up as soon as I leave Burds. Oh how convenient...theres a transmission shop right next door! Bill said he was going to check on a price for the new problem. Its been 2 months now and no call back. Ended up just trading the vehicle in for a new one. Something smells fishy at Burds

Overpriced on basic replace and repair. Paying more for NW suburb hand holding and schmoozing than actual parts and labor. Not bad but only go if you got dough and dont know anything about cars.
Slow turnaround for repairs and all services offered would require the vehicle to be dropped off.

2016-04-26I recently had my car at Burds Auto Bays for some repairs and was very pleased with their work and attention to detail. All issues were clearly explained to me and confirmed before any work was done. Upon picking up my vehicle I found that it ran properly, and I have had no issues since I got my vehicle back. Burds Auto Bay is a straightforward shop with fair pricing and great attention to detail. They have definitely earned my future business.

2014-07-08Several months ago, my car battery died and it seemed to be a simple fix. But then it died again and wouldnt charge..while I just happened to be next door to Burds Auto. One of their mechanics came over and managed to charge it just enough to drive it into their lot, they inspected my car right away, found the problem(s), and replaced the battery and misc small parts with it that day! At a very comparable price without any hidden or increased charges. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful and pleasant. Im not car savvy at all, but I felt confident here. I definitely will remember them for other work I need done!

2016-02-18My A/C had been messed up for awhile and I needed an oil change. I was able to drop my car off and have it completely serviced same-day for under $130! Much less than Ive paid at bigger chains. The owner seemed like a really good, honest guy. Id definitely recommend this place to my friends.Edit: When spring rolled around and I tried to use my air conditioner, it did not work

2018-11-01I was referred to Bill the owner, by someone I trusted. Since then I have experienced a yes sir, an atmosphere of respect and care you cannot find anywhere else. They all offer such great service and experience.Once I wanted to take my car to Burds, unfortunately, they were closed, so I went to another mechanic, from diamonds nearby who said he could fix my car. By the next day, long story short, all I needed was a new battery. but because of Mr diamond, He did something wrong and ruined my computer. It took Burds expertise on a Volkswagon Jetta a German car that is difficult to work on. yet Burds was able to fix it. I have been going to Burds Autobay for over 20 years and they are the most honest and courtliest people on the planet. I highly recommend your trust. You may even earn a lifelong friend and relationship.

2017-10-18I guess this place is really hit or miss. I see lots of good reviews here and a friend also recommended it. I was having some issues with my shocks and took my car in at noon on a weekday. The owner, Bill, told me they would take a look at it and give me a call. At 5pm, they hadnt called so I called them and they said they hadnt looked at it yet. I went it just before 6pm (they close at 6) to get my car since it hadnt even been looked at yet.Thats when Bill started with the lies and excuses. Oh, we told you how busy we are and it may take a while to get it looked at! No, Bill, you didnt.Incompetence, lies, and excuses are a poor first impression. I wont be coming back.
