As the kids say we aren’t supposed to talk about BRUNO but Bruno made my auto part but I g experience painless with exceptional customer service and answered all of my questions!!!! I was soo glad to have found a place like Bill Smith Auto definitely recommend for your auto parts needs
One of our advisors who no longer works here ordered the wrong part on a car. i called to get it returned even after reading i may have to pay shipping to send it back. when i spoke to bruno. he said don’t worry about it, and issued the credit despite our issue. that’s awesome customer service! and saves everyone some headache

These guys are amazing!!! If rating them 1 through 10 they’re a 10 with friendly and professional staff members! I drove from Indianapolis for what would be a you have to pick it up tomorrow item and these guys tackled the situation immediately to give me same day service! WHO CAN ASK FOR MORE!!! We worked with Bruno Davis to find a replacement driveshaft for our 2001 Dodge. Since a used one was not available, he helped us locate a new one for a great price. He shipped it from IL to UT. Outstanding service! I had trouble sourcing a wheel for one of my customers that needed to leave town by the weekend. I found the wheel posted online by their estore. After calling and talking to Bruno (this man is outstanding!!), he was able to find the wheel, give me the online price, and ship it out that same day. Given I called around 4:30-4:45pm. I ordered a rear taillight for my truck.It had some scratches and such.It wasnt a brand new one.So I called Bruno and told him about it.And he was the nicest guys. Down to earth and he solved the problem. Got me another one within a couple of days..I was very happy with the service and would recommend anyone to shop there.Ill be back if I need anything else.

Needed a spare (donut),rim,& tire for our sons 2017 corolla I was able to get all three from them & reasonable on prices!!! The guys there were all very friendly & didnt keep me waiting long at all...Bruno was the one behind the counter. & although he had a customer he was helping on the phone he was also able to finish up my ticket so I could get going!!!
I found this place because a good friend of mine wanted me to replace the engine in his car. They found the engine that I needed and had it shipped over. Well, there was an issue with that engine. But it was taken care of. They even gave me an extended warranty just to make sure everything worked out. Bruno is the man! The dude Really knows his stuff! I will most definitely be taking my business to Bill Smiths again. If they don’t have it, they can get it. No worries.
I came in looking for a couple parts for my car and was treated like I didnt know what I was talking about. The guy at the counter was very rude to me. I decided they didnt need my money and I left. I went to another yard and got what I needed. They were much friendlier.Reply from bill smiths:Al, we are so sorry to hear about your experience but we didnt have any males working the front counter today. We dont show any record of saved quotes nor phone calls for any fenders to walk in customers. We also dont show anyone with the name that you are providing in our system. Once again if we did something we truly are sorry.WOW!I never said it was today. I never said I was looking for a fender. I never had a chance to give them a name. Just shows how incompetent this company is.
Bueno is the best. Ive called for my parents car (Rim). NYC roads destroyed the rim on the Hyundai 2013. They had the part and shipped it. Professionally to my mechanic. Now my Acura.. he knows !! Well educated in his profession and easy to speak to. Thank you thank you. You made Lady happy !!
This place is great! I have came here many times over the years for buying a car. I love that I get a good variety each time I come. I always get one on one when I am looking but not where anyone is pushy. I always end up asking a lot of questions and always feel very comfortable with my decision. There is no pressure so its fine when I go home and think about it. What I also like is that if there is I can continue to bring my car back here for servicing as I need to with no problem at all. And the last part I love about this place is that it is family owned. I always deal with Bob at this location and I really like when he talks about his kids he makes it personal and comfortable. Bruno was awesome!! This place had a rim for my bf car! The Upull place near here does not carry rims so HUGE lifesaver!! I suggest if looking for parts, rims, etc call this place first before any other. Here are pics of the actual place. It is a bit hard to find but follow google maps and turn left at the sign.
Called for a set of taillights. The danville yard hooked me right up. Bruno was a huge help and extremely courteous.Dealt with the urbana yard the week before for a set of ribs. Again hooked me right up and both places beat macks by about 25%. I can say I wont be going back there.
Called made sure they had the item I was needing. Drove 45 minutes to pick item up only to find out was given the wrong part. Called to complain and told it would be a couple of days before they would have the part they will call when they have the right one to switch with. Go to pick up part only to have to run around from building to building because no one knows where it is. I suggest going to a reputable place that actually employs people who are able to handle their job.
We we were referred to this business after having an accident on the road as we travelled to Nebraska. We were very far away from our destination, with a leaking tire. The staff were very helpful. Chris, Alex and Aaron did an awesome job of straightening our bent tire rim. We made it all the way to NE and back to MD without incident. Thank you for your great service!!

Not only did they have the parts that I needed, but they also worked with me on the issue that I live over three hours away and couldn’t make to them during business hours, so they made after hours arrangements for my parts pick up. I worked with Keith and the transaction was fantastic. Part I need was essentially half price at Bill Smith when compared to other salvage yards I contacted. They sourced the part, crated it and held it for over a week while shipping was arranged. Highly recommended.
I live in the Chicago area and drove the 2hrs down here to pick up a transmission for my Honda Crosstour EX-L because I just couldnt believe the deal! 😯Well, the service was also great...and most importantly the trans was as fantastic as advertised. 😁My only negative is that I that I lived closer so that I could use them for more of my automotive needs☹
It’s been a nightmare searching for a axle for my Kia Sorento because every parts store I called couldn’t get it or didn’t know what I was talking about so I called bill smith auto in Danville IL and spoke to Bruno in the office which was vary friendly and he knew exactly what I was looking for and I arrived 15 minutes later he had the part ready and for a great price If your looking for great service and great parts go see Bruno and the other guys there at bill smiths.
I had a complaint , but the owner as soon as i placed this review, he talked to me and he took care of the issue, and Im very satisfied with the result of it, it is to sorry that the part i have in my shop, have no use for it, but he even gave it to us to do whatever, I personally will like them to take it so they can use for a future sale if it was possible, great owner guy. Posting a review dictated by my technologically challenged friend.I ordered a transmission from your company, 1st time ordering, I order parts all the time from various companies. I spoke to John Brinkley, he was most helpful and patient as I was less than prepared with specific information. Took his time waiting for me to get squared away and I couldnt be more happy. Will definitely call your company again.
I called the Urbana location looking for a spare tire for my pickup. they told me they had 1 in Danville all I had to do was give them my name ,pay for it and be on my way. ( I had an appointment in Indianapolis)When I got there it was just a rim no tire, a tire was another $35 and then I had to bring it to another shop to have it mounted. It cost me $50 and an hour more then I was originally quoted. Really BAD COMMUNICATION
Buyer be aware and inspect before your purchase smooth talkers.Our business purchased a motor for $950.00 from Bill Smith Auto parts. We are in Colorado and seller is in Illinois. It took a while to get that motor. On arrival motor was put in a car and we found that motor was not functioning properly.Called salesman Keith in June 1st week informed Keith again he assured that his motor is good and we should get a second opinion. Which we did. Called him in July and he said he will resolve the issue. Never heard back from him. Called again in September he completely denied that he was never informed about issue. Talked to his manager Todd he said the same thing and refused to help us with the motor.Now we feel that we were intentionally mislead to lapse the time and the seller knowingly sold us a bad motor. We feel that seller defrauded us and purposely lead us on and finally brushed us off.Out of State buyers watch out. Do your home work. Inspect the product.We got burnt we do not want any other business to get burnt.UACI
After 7-8 weeks of waiting for a part, I finally received the WRONG part. The manager would not even listen to my complaint with the company. Instead she interrupted every time I would try to talk to explain myself, frustrating me even further in this matter. All I wanted was for them to pay for return shipping because they sent me the wrong part, especially after waiting almost 2 months to receive the wrong part (of screw ups in shipping on their end). This has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Here is what happened. This company messed up my order twice. First they sent it to the wrong address, a month later the part returned to Illinois. I called and I was informed that they were going to reship it. I call 2 weeks later, and I am informed that the part had been sitting in a warehouse lost and they were going to reship it. Finally when I got it, the part would not fit because they sent the wrong part. The manager Michelle is trying to tell me that it was my fault. I disagreed because I reviewed my order before placing it, as I always do. The thing that made me most angry was trying to get help from management. The manager Michelle would not let me finish a single sentence without interrupting me. I could not get a single complete sentence in. Good luck everyone else if you have a problem with this company. 10 thumbs down for this company.
I ordered an engine off ebay to ship to Ohio. Two different guys helped me answer questions ro determine it it was right motor. Very happy with their knowlege and customer service. I didnt know the motor couldnt be delivered to my house. They provided me with the nearest pick up location. Will buy from you again. JH

I bought 2008 bmw x3 rear door for $ 301After I install it the window glass was sitting down couldnt close at all after I unscrew everything in I realized the window regulator was completely broken ! Shame ! This is no excuse they know very well about it coz when u put a price tag u examine ur item or fraud !Then after I have to spend other $ 200 for labour & the window regulator.

2021-10-24I was looking all over the place for a rim that would fit my 2006 toyota corolla and after a few bad lucks i was able to come across Bill Smith Auto Parts on the Walmart website. I called them directly to ensure the rim would fit and I was able to get a call back from Bruno who did an awesome job in finding the rim. I ordered over the phone right then and there, received the rim in about 4 days and it was a perfect fit! I will shop here in the future and definitely recommend!!

2021-07-20Spent $1200 on 4 new rims for my SUV and one rim is the wrong color. That rim is also incredibly bent—not sure how it passed inspection... Not only those issues, but one of the other rims is already scratched up straight out of the box. The auto shop that put the new rims and tires on my SUV called to ask if I still wanted the wrong color rim on my car, but at this point I had no choice since one of my tires blew last week and I needed the new tires on to avoid another blowout. Now I’m going to have to get a new rim sent out that’s (hopefully) the correct color and go back to have the wrong color rim changed out, paying MORE in labor fees when this should’ve been completely avoided. If you buy 4 of the same rims at the same time on the same transaction, why would someone from your store send 3 of one color and 1 of another color? How does that even make sense?? So embarrassing and ridiculous considering the money I’ve spent on these new rims (and now I’m going to have to spend even more money because of this issue).****Edited to add**** this company was very quick to address this issue and make it right. They were very courteous throughout the process. They sent out a new rim in the correct color and gave me a return label to ship the old one back when we got the correct one switched over. They even offered to pay labor costs for the auto company when they switched the rim over (they didn’t end up charging me, but this company offered to pay before the fact and that says a lot). Although this was a pain in the rear to deal with for months, they made it right and I’m pleased.

2022-03-29I definitely recommend Bill Smith Auto Parts. I did an engine swap for my 07 Kia Sportage and they had what looked to be a good engine. With all the pictures including of the VIN plate, I was able to verify the mileage and maintenance history on the vehicle and felt as comfortable as I could. Bruno was easy to work with and addressed any issues as they popped up. He even gave a credit back to cover labor when the engine arrived with minor shipping damage that was addressed by my mechanic with a parts swapout from old engine.Engine installed fine and really runs great! If I am ever in market for another engine, transmission or other salvage part that I cant find locally, Ill be checking their inventory knowing what they say and show online is what you get. And thats all you can really ask for in a good salvage yard.Thanks Bruno and team!

2022-07-13Ive bought thousands of parts. Never this easy, called, ended up with a lower mileage motor than I called for within ten minutes. Shipped free, be here in four days. Highly recommend and will continue to use.
