I went here today and ordered a taco platter and one additional taco in the drive thru. I paid at the window and was then asked if I wanted any salsa. I asked for four salsas. I was told I could only have two. I said, But I ordered three tacos. The employee told me they can only give me two salsas with the platter. I said, What about the extra taco I ordered? Thats not in the platter. Dont I get a salsa for that? I was told, Since theyre going to put the taco in the platter, it counts as part of the platter. I said thats not right, and I asked how much extra salsa was. She told me 25 cents, so I paid for two more. Why did I pay extra for a taco if youre counting it as part of the platter? Why not ask if I want salsa before you charge me for my meal in the event that I want extra salsa? If a person orders 3 tacos, they should be able to get 3 salsas.
Besa Mi Taco a counter order Mexican restuarant is not quite on their game. This is one of the best ambiance fast food places youll ever experience,... but Ive had better authentic food from street carts and food trucks. They have gotten better over the years, in the past it was so bland no amount of self serve salsa could add flavor to the meal.Fast forward to today the tacos are now average and the Taco Tuesdays are a good value. Daily deal specials and fast service are bringing me back.I give it a solid 3.5 out of 5.
This restaurant gets an A+ all across from me. For starters the staff is polite and efficient. The food is delicious and at a reasonable price. Lastly, they take their customer relationships very seriously. when we realized our tacos were missing from our take out order; they immediately prepared them for us to pick up and did not charge us for the additional chicken quesadilla that we added. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Love their shredded chicken on everything. Great flavor, and much better than the grilled cubed chicken breast. Their salsas are amazing and actually have some heat to them.Always great and fresh food everytime we order and you can get a beer or alcoholic drinks here too! 😋I come here at least a few times a year
Amazing food get friendly staff. Never a bad experience. Food is fresh every time nothing tastes old or that its been left out. Anything with chicken there is fantastic. Especially their taco salads. Baja fish tacos are to die for I love the slaw used on the beer battered tacos. The list goes on.
The food is good when u have a taste for Mexican, but youre in Itasca instead of the city. The nachos are tasty. The steak burrito is flavorful, but small and not hearty. The prices are extremely high too, and seem to be on the rise. On the upside, they have a drive-thru.
Prices have gone up 40% while quality has gone down. 12.00 for a steak burrito! No more taco Tuesdays. I get it times are tough but way to screw over loyal customers. Better places way cheaper just need to drive a few minutes. Not worth it anymore. Be out of business in a year.
We easily order from Besa Mi 2 or 3 times a week. It is the absolute best! The staff are so wonderful and friendly. Fresh-high quality ingredients every single time and they always go the extra step when we get creative with ordering. Going for a breakfast burrito suizo style RIGHT NOW!! See you soon!
The nachos were soggy and most DEFINITELY not fresh. The elote was not authentic at all missing a lot of the cojita cheese and lime, it really wasn’t that good. The tacos were alright but overall and overpriced restaurant with everything other than the tacos fairly stale and gross. Should’ve went to Taco Bell.
Good Mexican fast food place. Variety of menu option and daily specials. Was here for taco $2 Tuesday. Nothing extra special pretty small taco with ok flavors. I would say pricey for the amount of food you get. Salsa bar is nice to add to any order you get. Good atmosphere. Would return if in area.
Have always loved their food. Everything Ive had was always very good.Tonight, not ! I live 3 minutes away so walk up/drive thru was ok during COVID. Ordered 2 chicken tacos and rice. Tacos were soaked and fell apart when I opened foil packets.Rice had something different than the norm. It wasnt cilantro (like cilantro) it was something bitter. I have had indigestion since trying to eat.Thru most of it out. I dont know if you changed chefs or what but today was really just awful! Your take out staff were very nice as usual.
Ive wanted to try them for a while. Finally ordered takeout on a Sunday night to discover they were allowing dine-in during a state order for no dine-in. This is a business that has been set up for takeout and drive-thru so dine-in isnt their only way of making money. Then the person who checked me out wasnt wearing a mask when there were signs on the doors requiring they be worn. The 22oz large horchata is the smallest one in the area but cost the same as most 44oz. Finally, the shredded chicken tacos were soggy (my son said the carne asada ones were great. It will be the only time I go there. I could give another chance if it was just the food but when you can follow the pandemic safety rules/guidelinea, I dont trust you to follow other safety standards.
Great food but do not like that they charge 10 cents for a water cup. They are our go to place for Mexican authentic food. They have all of the regular foods and a self service salsa bar. There is seating outside on the patio if you want to get so.e freshh air as you eat.
I have taken so many people to Besa Mi Taco and have not had one person say they disliked it! Everyone raves about how great it is. I personally love their steak fajita burrito and the cheese dip that you can get on the side with the chips. The place has such good prices and I will take it any day!
Besa is good, basic Mexican food. The menu is huge and almost everything Ive tried from it is excellent. I have to recommend the shredded chicken quesadillas.I only deducted a star because they got stingy about their salsa bar; now you just get little cups of salsa from behind the counter rather than being able to pick from 3 or 4 varieties.
An unexpectedly good place for tacos, especially baha fish tacos. Before the pandemic they served alcoholic smoothy type drinks. They have reliable sides including beans and rice. Although good for carry out, they have a nice outdoor seating area. A fun budget option for al fresco dining.
Excellent food. Based upon some of the other reviews I tried the pastor platter. It was delicious. This is really a fast food Mexican restaurant. Place order at the counter and they bring it to you, or you pick it up. But the food is fresh tasty and satisfying.Glad I stopped by.
The atmosphere was pleasant. Upbeat music. The menu featured a few pictures that show a lot of cheese. This is not in any way close to Mexican food. Only in the style. Two out of three orders were wrong so we had to wait a long time for corrections. Use the salsa bar to spice the food. Overall, we wont be coming back. Not sure why this gets 4.5 stars.
I went here for lunch with people from work and I had the steak taco platter. The food came out fast so that was great! The food wasnt too bad either. It was the about the equivalent of something youd get at your local Chipotle. The food was expensive! I was expecting a lot more food for $9! The meal came with two tiny tacos with a few cubes of steak in each, a small spoonful of beans, and a small spoonful of rice. Also there was no chips and salsa for dine in eaters. What kind of Mexican restaurant doesnt serve chips and salsa to dine in guests? Needless to say I left pretty hungry, which is not something that happens often at most Mexican restaurants. The food and hot sauces were also pretty bland, but I suppose for the area the restaurant is in it works fine. Im used to Mexican food where the flavor has a lot more kick, this place was more of a mild whisper, which some folks might like. All in all if you looking for Mexican food that is a step up from Taco Bell, but nowhere near as good as the more authentic Mexican places, then youll be able to tolerate it. Honestly I would never go here by myself. In the future Ill only go if the group decided it was where they wanted to eat.
Walk in and it seems like a fine lunch and dining location. There wasnt that many people for lunch. I got some beer battered fish tacos with rice and beans. They have a salsa bar which has a good variety and they taste good. The food came out on disposable plates and utensils, which surprised me but I dont really mind. Rice and beans are on par with other places. The fish tacos had a lot and I mean a lot of fish which filled you up quick. Recommended for a quick bite to eat some Mexican cuisine.
This is hands down my favorite taco place in the burbs! The meats they use are fresh and of high quality and the service cant be beat. I usually keep it simple here with the steak tacos on corn tortillas, but I have gone outside the box and tried their Baja fish tacos, theyre to die for.
Decent and unique. The décor gets more points than the food. The staff is friendly. But the food. Eh. I got a sopa which was ok. The other person in the party got a taco salad. It was so greasy the bowl made out of a tortilla was soggy after a few minutes. Worth a try if you are up for Mexican food.
Went in today with my daughter, after standing in line to place order you seat yourself and wait for your food... no chips and salsa like any other restaurant u dine in. My tacos had more cheese and sour cream than steak and the rice and beans look like they came from the can. Everything is self serve from pop to salsa so I wasnt understanding the tip jar at the front register. Definitely not the experience I was looking for from a Mexican restaurant, Ive been treated better while dining in many other. Not really worth the time..
Im a regular customer because the food is consistently 😋delicious with reasonable prices. The staff is always courteous and professional especially the Manager Anna. She always has a welcoming smile and genuinely cares about their customers. Thank you for all the hard work you and your Staff do...its truly appreciated☺
Have visited this place many times in the past. But never had issue until today. I ordered a chicken torta sandwich. The chicken in the sandwich was not cooked throughly and tasted raw. Talked to the cashier and she said she will let the manager know. 10 minutes went by but the manager didn’t bother coming outside to address the issue. Quite disappointing!!!
Used to be a strange dude who worked there. Had like bleach blonde hair, might of been the owner? Always had a dull/irritated attitude? Anyway, till this day the customer service still lacks here. They play around too much in the back, there prices are astronomical, just dull in general. People keep getting taken because of the convenience of the location and lack of variety in the area. What an odd name for a restaurant too. Dont you think???
I regularly get food from Besa MI Taco. My favorite is the Veggie Burrito platter (with Spanish Rice & Refried Beans). It is so delicious Im always disappointed when my foods all gone. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. Once you try the food here, youll definitely come back.
Salsa bar is great and the food is decent and consistent. Nothing spectacular. Other places offer higher quality. This place has joined in the pitiful trend of using only pre made veggie mixes that have baby corn in them.Whats with all the Mexican, Chinese, and Thai places doing this?! To foods baby corn does not belong in! Cheap copout.Of course because its a mix they get frozen and cook, when you order veggie tacos or burritos, no baby corn isnt an option. Unless you get someone willing to pick it out for you, and won wants to make anyone do that?
This place has great burritos. For the price the borrito is huge. I always got the cheesy burrito that was very flavorful and well seasoned. They have a salsa bar with pico, hot, and verde salsa. Besa Mi is busy at lunch but always is fast and has at least a few seats available. Great patio for summer months.
I used to love this place, but not so much anymore. I am not sure if they changed the cook, but the food is prepared way different from what Ive ate there before. I used to love the chicken torta. Now all I taste is onions, they never put them inside before. I threw it out.
This place have great tortas just remember to ask for no onions. They put slices of red onions in their torta which Im not used to so I would skip that. I do love the avocado slices though. I tried a steak taco once. I would ask to skip the iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and cheese next time. But overall, Id go back and maybe even eat in instead of take-out.
Ive never had more bland food in my entire life. I ordered the Fish tacos (Canyon taco?) and when I took the first bite I thought they had forgotten to put fish in the taco. The fish had absolutely no seasoning. The rice was room temperature instead of hot.I cant tell you how bland _everything_ was. I absolutely hate re-fried beans and that was the only thing that I ate more than two bites of. I even threw away the strawberry daiquiri after two sips. The best part of the meal was the small cup of pico de gallo that I got from the salsa bar.I threw everything in the garbage. Never in my life have I thrown away *everything*.
We enjoyed going there for dinner its really sad that a lot of employees have been leaving me lately we enjoyed going there because of them they were longtime employees makes us wonder whats going on...... we enjoyed seeing them all the time might have to make other choices for dinner now
This was the worse Mexican resturant Ive been to...no service, cold food, messed my order up, charged us for everything....even water! Didnt even give us complimentary chips and salsa! This resturant should be called kiss my ass instead kiss my taco... I hated I even had to rate them because they dont deserve a rating!
I can not even explain how good it is you have to try this place, it is a little pricey but its one of those places that it is worth it I love Mexican food and friendly staff that always smiles and has a positive attitude no matter how busy it is and the Margarita is a must too frozen is better just saying

2022-07-056/2022 2* Went here on a Saturday night. 2* instead of 1* because the menu looked great. Menu lit up outside. Google says you are still open. But nobody home!!!! Would have loved to tried your place. But could not. Other cars drove up too, and you were closed! Bummer for sure!

2022-07-03Tacos was decent, the Baja was the most flavorful to me! I tried the steak, chicken and fish. The corn shells tasted like the was just made in house, so that was a bonus! Can’t forget the margarita and sangria

2022-05-19Ordering is a little different here but the food was good, staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Frozen Margarita was fantastic and you can’t beat the price! I’m a very picky eater and they customized my food the exact way I wanted it. Got the carne asada quesadillas and pollo tacos with corn tortillas, rice and chips with cheese. All were good! My son even approved of the French fries! If I’m ever back in the area I will stop by again for sure!

2022-05-25I ordered the Grande Burrito or I would like to say Pequeno Burrito with carne asada. The burrito had little to no meat in it. It was pretty much a salad wrap. All lettuce to be specific. I spoke to the manager who didnt seem to care at all. She advised me that this is how they make the burritos and there was nothing she can do about it. Also said things are very expensive, then she walked away. Terrible food and terrible customer service. The least they couldve done was make me a new burrito with more steak on it, and I wouldnt have wrote this review. No wonder the place is empty during lunch time. DO NOT RECOMMEND unless you want to leave hungry after spending $15 on a salad wrap.

2022-04-28Upon placing a grubhub order, and waiting for it to arrive, it was found that part of our order was missing. After alerting the restaurant and grubhub,And driving all of the way there, (via expressway including tolls) sat in drive through for twenty minutes and then ended up walking in to be told that we received a refund through grubhub and would then have to pay for the food that had been missing from our order, with an explanation/admission of fault of “oh, they just forgot to put it in your bag” with absolutely no apology for any part of the experience, the grubhub, the drive through, to then get home to this, is unacceptable. There is no lettuce or sour cream or anything on this (which I ordered), and it looks as if someone threw it into the container. The beans and rice are also supposed to be separated. Worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. And all they had to do was acknowledge the issue and fix it, and I would have been fine.

2022-06-16When you pay 16 dollars for a steak burrito dinner, Id expect a decent amount of steak. This is a lettuce burrito. The prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. I should have cooked at home. I work hard for my money and my food was not good to say the least. The beans ehh the elotes looked like soup. I had gone here for years, I will never go again. Im so disappointed, because it was so good in the before. We are in the after and now, you are better off cooking at home. I understand convince etc, but dont bother. If you charge people like 40 bucks for burritos a side and a drink, please make it worth it. Times are hard. I never eat out and when I do its less than. Double the price for half the product. Very disappointing. Lost a customer.

2022-03-24You can taste the care in preparation of the food. Fine cut lettuce, well marinated tender meat, and salsa to die for. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and clean. The staff is professional and very nice. I highly recommend this place for an early lunch, as there where very few patrons. All in all this is a great place!!

2022-04-15After passing by the restaurant multiple times to and from my way to work, I finally decided to try it. I had the shredded chicken tacos and they were very delicious. The meat was very flavorful and lean. The ingredients looked fresh. You even get a choice of salsa to add to the side if you’d like. Overall, I’m glad I finally tried it and I will be back!

2022-05-20The food was average to below par. I had the cheesy burrito and it was hot but it had no flavor. Their salsas were the only highlight. There are no refills on sodas so you have to guess how much you want. Prices are reasonable but again there is no flavor to the food so really youre paying for the salsas to add to their not so tasty dishes.

2022-06-30Ive been coming here for as long as I can remember (maybe since theyve been open?) and today was extremely disappointing. They removed the salsa bar and they dont allow free refills on fountain drinks anymore. I understand that COVID was difficult on everybody and theyre probably looking to recoup some money, but it seems kind of petty. Speaking of coups, they had Fox news cranking in the dining room and I really dont want to eat Mexican food with Tucker Carlson. The El Jefe burrito platter I received was SIGNIFICANTLY smaller and severely lacking in ingredients. Theyve switched to very shallow flimsy plastic plates, so you get a lot less rice and beans. The prices seem to have gone up quite a bit and quality has taken a major hit. This place is far enough from my house that I have to really want to come here, and I dont think Im going to really want to come here for quite a while.
