The wait for ice cream is worth it. If you order food call ahead of time because wait can be 30 minutes. Was going to this place when it was called Joes Dariette, Salamones, now Bennys. Always good ice cream and food.

Strawberry shake was immaculate . recommend 100% . they endorse wearing a mask , and their service has always been super friendly and understanding .
Simply in a way to say it Icecream crack always good items only downside is theyll do one order at a time before taking the next order meaning theyll take order fix it then next order. The longest wait for me was 1 hr. they was out of Blue Raspberry icy.

2nd time going there.Burger was cold. So were the fries.Ordered bbq fries for my child, said they tasted funny. Threw them away.$16 wastedI guess that’s why I just need to cook at home......
I am waiting to try this WONDERFUL piece of my childhood again. As of now I have not tried it since Joe, Bennys dad, owned it and called it Joes Dariette. But if family tradition lives and is true, this place will be fantastic. I will update my STAR Rating when I visit and add photos
The dairette is a local ice cream staple serving the Westside and Levings Lake area of Rockford for decades. Well I have yet to try any of the hot food items, I will say that the ice cream and sweets assortment is great, and has some offerings that are unique to the west side of Rockford.Granita, a form of flavored Italian ice, is a mainstay and comes in multiple flavors. They also do a combination, caller an unusual, which is composed of half granita and have soft serve ice cream. I had a vanilla ice cream with lemon granita unusual and was very happy with my choice! Stop by to try something! The prices are very reasonable, and the treats are delicious!
We love the granita flavors! Real fruit and decent prices! Amazing customer service. I will be a weekly customer, for sure.
Growing up this place used to be the best place now its just okay the customer service was fast the Sundays were made a little messy I dont think that I would return I probably would go to the another dariette before here
Pretty standard ice cream shack. They have good prices though and filled my flurry with toppings so I didnt have any annoying Dead spots of ice cream only.

2022-05-02Finally made it back to Bennys!! I got my usual the UNUSUAL. I also introduced my husband to the UNUSUAL. He loved it!!. Forgot to take a pic, was to busy enjoying my dessert🍨😜. If youre ever in Rockford Illinois, stop by Bennys Dariette.

2022-04-03Had the unusual granita soft serve combo and it was amazing. Exactly what the dr ordered. My wife had the granita, then we shared some crispy onion rings with boom boom sauce(🔥) and we tried the loaded Buffalo Chicken French Fries. We went for a snack an ended up having dinner. It was great! Highly recommend!!

2021-07-25Not what I remember from my childhood. Service was good, food another story. Ordered 2 cherry granitas, strawberry shake, and double cheeseburger. The granitas were not only small (child size), but it had very artificial taste. It honestly tasted like someone chopped up popsicles and put them in a cup. Also, granitas were a lot drier than I remember Joe’s being. I have never seen a runnier shake. The cheeseburger was cheap run of the mill thin frozen patties. Oh, my order was nearly $17.
