Positive: Absolutely nothing Negative: The staff is horribly aggressive and beyond rude. Multiple rooms were broken into last time I stayed and my cash & jewelry was stolen. I thought i would give them a 2nd chance. Very sorry i did. There us NO breakfast as is offered. I moved to the Quality
Positive: Will never stay at a Baymont by Wyndom again. I have never been to a motel with slip covers on furniture in the lobby across from check/in desk. The desk clerk was courteous but was not wearing professional clothing to represent brand of motel. Negative: Only the location at I55. They discontinued breakfast, which is one of the reasons we selected the motel. Luckily there was a Cracker Barrel next door. I would not have eaten anything at that motel if they were serving breakfast.
Positive: Honestly, not much. Negative: We booked this hotel because it was advertised to have breakfast and a pool. Neither were available to us. Our room needed some serious maintenance. Baseboards need replaced, the ceiling is pealing, mis-matched furniture, filthy chair
Positive: One manager was friendly and helpful Negative: I needed WiFi for work, but was out of luck, signal was so weak it couldnt even open a website. Management basically shrugged. Nothing was done about it. There was one roach in my room. The light towers shine so brightly into the room you can read by it
No breakfast. Room was run down...broken wire coming out of a wall, holes in the wall and holes in the carpeting. Room smelled like animals. There was a leak in the ceiling in the hallway with a bucket underneath. Underwhelmed. Avoid this place if you can. The TV remote was missing from my friendsroom.
Positive: The staff was amazing and did what they could. Clearly management of the hotel doesnt care. The hotel was clearly in disrepair and under staffed. Negative: No breakfast (was advertised as breakfast), no dressers or hangers, broken hair dryer, dirty pool and whirlpool, broken luggage cart, uncomfortable beds, lamps had no light bulbs, could not contact front desk as there was only one person on duty.
The hosts were rude the cleaners were rude owned by indians that litterly have the while family living in hotel place smelled bad pool was fun no breakfast will never stay again I called 7am asked if could check in early the hosts said sure wint be a problem I get tuere at noon wouldnt let me check in until 3pm which is fine but dont tell me I can check in early if I cant best thing is the cracker barrel next door!! Garbage hotel not worth it folks even with a Jacuzzi in room king deluxee suite not worth it
Never, EVER stay here. There is no lobby, no breakfast served even though advertised, beds are so small!! Customer service is not a word they recognize. After I checked out, I noticed in my bank account that they charged me twice. For 3 days I attempted to call them to rectify this, 22 times I called and they either did not answer the phone, or answered it but hung up on me. I don’t know how they do business like this but if you do stay here watch your accounts because something is shady about how they do business!! If you want a nice hotel in Springfield, we stayed at quality inn on our trip back, for same price and very very nice place to stay.
0 stars, Sarah the manager was very rude and unprofessional she asked me why I took a picture of the all the water damage on the ceilings and the piece of ceiling that fell in front of our room, & the picture of roaches in the room, the night of our stay the door to the pool kept locking us in at night & they closed it in the morning, no breakfast which was included in the stay, we proceeded to check out & the manager was being rude because I took the picture so she had a terrible attitude, & started an argument with me because of what she thought she heard & when I clarified she didn’t even apologize she was to busy on FaceTime with her friend. Also the lock to the pool door is broken & we were locked in the pool area during the night & went to go back in the morning and it was closed. Terrible management.
Room was Ok...No way to close curtains so the lights from the parking lot blazed in all night. The refrigerator froze all of our drinks. The people down the hall were cooking some sort of spicy food that smelled like swamp water. All in all sp nd the extra $20 and find a better place
Positive: Bed was comfortable, free wifi Negative: Furniture is old, stained and beat up. Patio furniture outside the pool was all broken. Pool kept running out of towels. No breakfast even though all the restaurants in the area are open. The remote only turned the channels the rest was manuall operated.
Positive: It was close to our function & families u Negative: Cleanliness, found food wrappers on floor, chair was badly stained Marked that we needed a handicap room for a walk in shower & did not get it nor were we told that none was available. They weren¿t serving breakfast & we weren¿t informed of eith
Manager is disrespectful and rude hotel is full of roaches and staff act like they don’t know that! Employee chased me and my boyfriend outside screaming good luck getting your money back told management we would be talking to corporate she said go ahead we’re privately owned these people are unprofessional and shouldn’t have jobs this place is falling apart DO NOT GO HERE stop giving them business they need to shut this place down
Positive: NA Negative: The room was run down. Door lock didn¿t function well. Bathroom was dingy and felt dirty. Bathroom ceiling had large cracks. Couldn¿t see in the pool area because of steam and poor ventilation. No breakfast contrary to advertisement. Gym closed.
Nope! This place is a no go. Not only is it in need of repair but the head manager is extremely rude and threatened to call the police when we asked for our money back on our hotel room that we WERE not going to stay at, because they forget to mention they didnt have breakfast. Uhh.Ugh.. thanks. Very poor customer service, and I have been in customer service for years. Stay away!!
Positive: Not much, really Negative: We killed a cockroach in our room, it smelled old, there was a huge crack in the wall where a piece of furniture used to be, the carpet was dingy, and every step any person took was loud and made the whole room vibrate. We didnt sleep well at all.
Positive: It was conveniently located by the expressway. Negative: No breakfast as advertised. Many hotels have brought this back so it¿s unfortunate this one has not. Front desk did not share this upon check-in. I would have definitely chose a different hotel to stay. WiFi did not work. Was not able to get connecte
I drove 4 hrs and had a reservation got there at 11 tryed to let us swim till our room was ready .nope she said check in was at 3 pm .found a method head guy and girl in parking lot guy could even get up .police came took them 15 minutes to get up then met head went back into motel .then we found something to do for 4 hrs went back at 250 pm .went inside the receptist was rude as hell said you cant check in till 3 pm .I said we came into wait till 3pm .10 mi and she still said no check in till 3 pm .worst motel Ive ever been at would never recommend or stay there again.very rude people .and druggie everywhere .
Positive: Staff was very friendly and agreeable. Generally clean although in some disrepair. Negative: Front door area smelled like marijuana, it took 3 tries to find a room that fit the reservation, the luggage cart wheels were all partially flat, there was no breakfast served, and the heater/AC unit was challenging to set to a decent temp.
Positive: I like the fact that it was close to where I needed to be Negative: I stayed at the hotel because they offered breakfast and they did not have breakfast they said they didnt have breakfast due to restrictions very upsetting it was very dirty very outdated broken fixtures dirty walls lighting wasnt the best I wouldnt
The room we stayed in had a chair that looked like it had a pee stain on it. We asked for a replacement and were rudely told no by the night staff. As well, the toilet was not secured to the floor, so you had to keep careful balance in order to not tip over.Various other things were also uncleaned, which goes a long ways to show why it has soo many recent bad reviews. One other detail, the driveway and the parking area are badly in need of repair. Lots of large potholes, particularly on the driveway into the site.We will not be going back to this location and its soured our experience with the Wyndham/Baymont chain.
Stayed here for a dog show because it was one of the places that was not already sold out that allowed dogs. Booked a suite on line. Get there and they want to charge another $100 for the suite. I asked why and she flippantly showed a paper that gave me no time to read and then I said no and went with a king size room. The dresser in the room had uneven drawers and the sink faucet had rust and the shower head looked dirty. My girlfriends room had thawed ice cream still in the fridge.
Where do I start? First off, the hotel is disgusting. The lobby, the stairs, our room. Second, the elevator stopped working. We called customer service and they just put us on hold. 20 minutes before I hung up. The next morning, went to take my dog off and he barely made it out the front door off the building. The employee was sitting out in here car rather than at the desk. Her car was parked in front of the door taking up the entire drop off zone. Hope no else shows up. Then are started yelling eye me to take the dog across the parking lot. We were on the third floor and the elevater was brooken. They were supposed to have to have us on the fist floor by a door. Never again.
Room was well worth the price. Very clean, fresh smelling, nicely designed, and spacious. Bathroom was equally clean, and good quality shampoo, conditioner, and soap was provided. Bed was large, and extremely comfortable. Staff was very friendly, and courteous, and even provided me with a complimentary toothpaste & toothbrush when I mentioned I had forgotten to bring mine. The overall design of the building was very nice & clean. The complimentary breakfast was a step above the typical cold breakfast selection. Sausage, biscuits, gravy, eggs, cereal, waffles & french toast, along with coffee, and juices. The breakfast room itself was rather small & cramped, but adequate enough. Overall, I was extremely impressed. One of the best budget hotels Ive stayed in.
When we got here, it took forever to check in. The staff was arguing over the phone about the rooms available. We booked a room with two queen size beds, but they downgraded us to a room with two full size beds, but didnt tell us we were being downgraded. The bathroom didnt have a lock on it and wouldnt stay closed. The room smelled awful!!!!! It smelled like pool chemicals mixed with dirty gym socks. There was human hair on my pillow that wasnt mine. The carpet felt damp. We were planning on staying 2 nights, but decided to check out early and go to another hotel.
Room sucked the shower didnt get hot the toilet would just start running and no one in bathroom the lady at the counter was rude after she would come out a dark room we walked in and the lobby was so dark she never turned the lights on she was sleeping in that dark office room she was supper rude to me but was supper nice to my husband will use a different motel on next trip to Springfield sorry are stay was horrible
Positive: Location to familys home for are visit Negative: Wen I called the lady was rude and said they was booked so I booked online wen we got there the place was so dark like someone was sleeping we was greated with attitude from The lady that checked us in she was no help there more bout are room but no room
Front desk clerk rude to 2 guests in line ahead of us, then also to us (telling one guest to get off the premises). Did not feel comfortable staying (especially after a guest that was leaving suggested we run). Did not have amenities advertised (breakfast and pool). Baymont refused to give our money back. (We booked on Priceline). We ended up staying at Best Western. We had a lovely experience there, even though it was later in the evening. Smiling, friendly front desk clerk. Enjoyed the pool and the delicious breakfast at Best Western!!!
Second worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed at. Entire building smells like pet urine. Carpets don’t appear to have been shampooed ever. They are a pet friendly hotel so says the award plaques in the elevator. I can tell as place smells like it. Disgusting mold in bathroom, bed pillows stained and mini fridge has food stains and spills never cleaned up. Seriously if the health dept inspected this place they’d be shut down due to health code. Disgusting. I’d give negative score if able.
Front lobby was wore down and the couches are peeling. I called ahead to make sure the hot tub was working and they said yes. Then when I showed up the hot tub said closed on a paper put on the door. The remote to the TV did not work. Overall cleanliness was ok. The pool area was ok but there were spider webs in the corners of the pool room. Very kind service. Maintenance was somewhat an issue.
Check in and evening staff person was very nice and helpful. Common areas were nice, clean, and updated, but we were disappointed that the pool, although open post Covid, was unavailable for other reasons. The room was smaller than expected, and dated. Some of the furniture was damaged and in disrepair. We also observed a questionable staining the bed skirt. We requested a late Check out (only 1 additional hour), we they were not willing to honor. And the day staff was not as professional as the evening staff had been.
This is an absolute disappointment for me. The lady at the front desk was so angry and upset, I dont why. She seemed like what the heck I was doing there! The room was terrible except the Google TV. There is no vanity in the bathroom instead its in the room. No paper towels at all. The shampoo and soap was so cheap that I didnt attempt to use it.They claim there is complimentary breakfast but its a huge lie. She the front desk lady said they served only at weekends. The pool seems open but no its another big lie. Dont waste your money. The atmosphere in the rooms was also so dark and cheap.
Our room was awful. The tv did not work, the refrigerator did not work and the telephone did not work. So In order to report the problems we had to go downstairs to the front desk to be told I’m busy I will get to it when I can. 2 hours later and still nothing. Do not stay at this hotel very very poor customer service.
Ok hotel. Stayed here very recently. We had a room with one king bed. Bed was comfortable. TV was fine with the channels we needed. NO BREAKFAST, NO POOL.But the property has a Cracker Barrel right next to it. Try to-go from Cracker Barrel. They usually have very long waiting time on the weekends if you opt for table.Back to Baymont, location-wise it is 12 minutes from Lincoln Home. Seemed secured. We didnt have any smoke or marijuana smell as some other reviews have mentioned.Room was clean. No complaint with linen, towels or toiletries. Front desk was courteous and helpful.
If I could rate this hotel lower than 1 star I would. My party and I checked into 2 rooms for 2 nights. The first room smelled a little strange and the remote for the tv didnt work but it wasnt too much of an issue I have seen much worse. The second room however was not worth the $70 a night this place chargers! The room smelled like cigarette smoke and the house keeping staff sprayed air freshener to cover it up. The fire detector was unplugged and hanging from the ceiling and the tv would not turn on. We went to the front desk to ask for a new room and were told the hotel is 100% booked. Sabrina at the front desk was the biggest problem of the experience. She refused to call the property manager who was her sister because it was her night off and even refused to provide us with the corporate number. I told her I have worked at 3 major hotels for 2 years and I understand what its like with to deal with an upset customer but I also knew that she had the managers number and didnt want to call her on her night off. I was told whatever, I dont even care! As a a response. I did not shout at her I was politely explaining that its the property managers job to deal with situations like this and this was her response. Again I have dealt with situations like this before and I know she could have bumped back everyone to give a new room because there are almost always no shows at the end of the night. And in the rare circumstance where you truly fill every room, I have gladly cleaned a dirty room even though it was not my job to do so in order to make one persons night better. I am not demanding that everyone go to my level to please a customer but Sabrina needs a new outlook about working at a hotel because she could have at least tried to be nice and made the situation better in some way other than standing and arguing with us about it.
They are still claiming they have free breakfast online but they aren’t serving any breakfast at all due to covid… so in my opinion they need to change that online because breakfast is one of the amenities that people like us were looking for in our situation of why we were staying there... I was told the managers don’t care that it is still up online.
The hotel itself is like any other hotel theres nothing about the room that stands out from others but the staff I could gush on them for days. Friendly hard working and they never stop for a second. I appreciate the effort they put in from start to finish. The cleanliness was another factor we had new everything in our room and not a speck of dust. These ladies mean business and will get the job done!
5 night stay…I was a repeat customer during our horse show and Wyndham member.Check in was GREAT! The lady stated she was new, I thought she was fantastic. She was wonderful! She was able to move my room from 2nd floor to 1st with ease, was very courteous. Hope she finds a job elsewhere …After the first night everything went south fast.First issue: I kept waking up with HORRIBLE allergies and a migraine. Eyes swelling, itching, coughing, sneezing etc. went to talk with the night staff about it and he was beyond RUDE and accusatory!Second issue: I had my room cleaned once while I was there. This was MY choice. I had a Walmart bag on top of the dresser, it disappeared when they cleaned. Normally I wouldn’t think anything of it. But I had a unopened reusable ice pack and a new pack of razors in it. I didn’t say anything as I thought I may have taken it with me, brain fog from allergy and migraine meds…, no I didn’t have it! Housekeeping took my stuff! I rechecked everything now that I’m home, checked out yesterday. I needed the receipt for tax purposes too.I’m a repeat customer that will no longer be coming back. There were other issues as well but I’m only touching on the top two. Only giving 1 star because the gal at check-in was so helpful or it would be a 0 if I could.
Positive: They have a large pool. Negative: There was no breakfast, the hotel smelled terrible, the room smelled like mildew, and one of the hotel staff members was roaming the halls questioning everybody (including our kids) about whether they were smoking in the rooms.
Put us in a room already being used. Awkward when that door opened. New room had dust inch thick on ceiling fan and exhaust fans. Hairs all over the tub and bathroom floor. Food stuck to the desk by the phone. Grease all over the desk. Mattress ripped. Mold on ac unit and it didnt work we had to call for repair. Shower head wouldnt turn on. Complained and they came to our room at 9am. Telling is we should have never gotten the current room we was in. Made to pay a deposit, and was thrown at us when we checked out. Asked who I could call and make a compliant, lady said whoever I wanted. Was rude and didnt seem to care. Never again
Let me begin by saying that on the whole, our stay was quite pleasant. The room was clean, beds comfortable, etc. However, As much as I would love to give them a great review, I just can’t. Though it’s advertised that they provide Wifi, and I tried to connect to it, I could not for the life of me get it actually work when using the password they gave us. Being able to use the internet is something I consider important when taking a road trip so I can plan my next day of activities, and we weren’t able to do it while staying here.
BEWARE!!!!! This place is a complete joke. I booked a room here for 8/21/2021 through Expedia. My son became very sick and I am not able to keep the reservation. Have been trying to contact the hotel the past 2 days and literally the phone just rings and rings. Nobody will answer the phone. Attempted to talk to “Erika” with Wyndham customer care and was told she couldn’t help me because I booked through a third party. Told me to call them. Well I had already attempted to go through Expedia today but was told by them I would be charged the full amount of the room if I canceled through them so was told to call the property itself, but you guessed it nobody will answer the phone. I explained this to Erica with customer care and she just hung up on me instead of helping me figure this out. Don’t book with this place if you don’t want to be screwed over. And by the other comments I have seen it’s not a very nice place to even stay.
We arrived after instant save reservation. Then they would not offer a discount after website says breakfast and pool. After we checked in they told us they didn’t offer either. That was not fair do to price should have included these things. Then we got to room and was overwhelmed by a smell of rotten milk in the room. We noticed a ozone machine in room. We couldn’t get tv to work and called the office. Finally after 2 hours front desk help came and she had no clue. A woman in her pajamas came to room and hooked up wire on the back of tv. We assumed she was the manager or owner. We asked about the ozone machine and she just unplugged and took it. Very rude. This machine was not to be used with people in room very dangerous if someone turned on and didn’t read instructions. Never stay here very very frustrated with Wyndham properties.
The pool was nice and warm for our winter stay. That was the ONLY good thing about our stay. The room was terrible. The toilet ran constantly. The heat was stuck on, high. We had to sleep with the window open to be able to breathe. There was cigarette burns on the toilet seat, and the best part was when we pulled the blankets back someone had started their period in the bed. When we made the front desk aware. It took about 3hrs for them to come change the sheets. Also the coffee was horrible.
Weve stayed at Baymonts before and have had good experiences. However, this one needs major updating. Our ceiling had a mediocre patch job that looked like chunks of drywall could fall off any minute. The room also had an odd odor too. I have also never heard of having to put down 100 in cash and then have the room inspected prior to checking out. Fortunately we had the cash. On top of that the pool was ok but hot tub was out of order. Fortunately it was just a one night stay. However, we enjoyed the Cracker Barrel that was within walking distance. Id by pass this hotel for something a little nicer until the owners decide to upgrade.
Tried to check in , no one was there to check me in, waited, looked for help. Someone else walked in and proceeded to holler hello, when an employee came out from behind the counter who look as though she had been sleeping., her shorts were on inside out. As shes rubbing her eyes asks me my name twice, hands me paper work to sign, as I realized this is not the amount I should be charged, As I look further I realized its not even my paperwork! I told her she gave me wrong paperwork, she asked me yet again for my name, charges my card gets me right paperwork. We get checked into room to find the floor is entirely soaking wet by the AC. Pulled out the hide a bed and theres no sheets or blankets, and you can feel the metal through the mattress. Go back to front desk to request Linens, no ones at the counter, I finally had enough and said Helllooo!!. Same employee WHAT!!, ummm linens?. We are booked I dont have any to give you, mind you when I booked I put 5 people therefore we need linens for 5!! Go to the pool, and find the laundry room full of Linens! Go outside by Pool, all the outdoor furniture is broken, cant sit anywhereNext morning breakfast items limited due to covid, well no coffee and no breakfast items. Before we checked out, I found how dirty the mattress was
If only I could make it a zero. Number one the front staff had any overnight worker that rarely wear anything beyond a spaghetti tank top. She wasn’t even wearing a bra. I would’ve assumed they’d at least have some kind of uniform or dress standards. But I guess for them it’s OK to wear a tank top and sweatpants to work. Number two I had to have mail delivered there as I had to stay there for work. And I had confirmation of the delivery. When I went to the front desk to pick it up they said there was never any mail delivered there even though there was. And rather than saying politely that they couldn’t find it or that have been lost the same younger woman who decide she doesn’t like to wear bras went off on me about how she cannot make my package appear out of nowhere. Currently it’s my fault not hers that they lost my package. And they had a business station that was not up and working. It looks as though she was too lazy to even plug in the printer. When I asked that I could use it which I’ve seen other people using it she told me that it wasn’t working and it was broken but basically she just didn’t want to print plug it in and get it running. The manager was even more unprofessional I’m dress and demeanor.I guess they scored in getting a job where you can show up in sweatpants and a white spaghettini tank tol without a bra and can steal peoples packages and make fun of your customers without getting in trouble because the manager is so lazy and unprofessional herselfIn all fairness the day front desk person was new to the job but at least wore professional attire and tried to help
The room was filthy with only 2 towels and we had 3 guests. There was barely 1 roll of toilet paper, there was stuff all over the floor including dog food. The ceiling had water damage and it was flaking off and falling onto the floor. There was no hot breakfast like advertised and the pool and got tub are closed!. Totally not worth your money. Stay somewhere else. EXTREMELY UPSET AND VERY DISSATISFIED! Wish I could get a refund! Lesson learned! No more Baymonts for this family!
Positive: Not much Negative: Big pot holes in parking lot that are hard to dodge. The hallway was as hot as it was outside 95 degrees. The room didn¿t cool well. The sheets on the bed wouldn¿t stay on the bed and there was hair in the bathroom. The room was small and not worth
Positive: The one and only staff member we met during our trip was helpful. Negative: Given a dirty, used room. Then moved to their only open room with sticky carpets + sheets, filthy decades old bedding, stained mattress riddled with burns. Shower barely worked, rooms + hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. No breakfast pool tv remote wifi
Do not stay at this hotel and avoid it at all cost. My son and I arrived there this past weekend and upon our arrival we walked into our room and it literally smells like something died in there. When I went downstairs to ask the front desk lady to move us, she said that they were all booked full for the weekend and that it wasn’t possible. I brushed that off but then when I went back upstairs to my hotel room later on in the evening the whole floor smelled like marijuana and there was no smoking in the hotel. It trickled into my room throughout the night. My son and I then went swimming and when we went into the pool area the amenities were completely run down and not kept up. The hot tub was broken. But there was also a huge safety hazard I noticed after my son jumped in the water. One of the sidelights that was on the side of the pool fell out of the wall and was hanging at the bottom of the pool by in electrical cord. I tried to confront the front desk worker about this and they did absolutely nothing avoiding other cries as well of safety concerns. I was not the only parent that complained about it. When I went back upstairs to give my son a bath, I looked up at the ceiling and the ceiling in the bathroom was completely molded and rotted out and almost falling in. I’ve been trying to call drastically to get a hold of the manager Sarah to discuss refund options and to no prevail and they just started hanging up on my phone calls. They keep lying to me and tell me she’s working a certain day but then every time I call on that day she’s never there. This hotel needs to be condemned and I don’t recommend staying.
This USED to be a decent hotel and the one we used to choose to stay at regularly. That apparently has changed in the past year. I booked two suites - one for my husband, infant son, and I, and one for my elderly father-in-law. I got surprised at the front desk by a $100/room cash-only deposit I had to put down. LUCKILY we happened to have the cash, but this policy was never posted anywhere, never disclosed, nothing. The employee claimed shed been there a year and theyd been doing it since she was there. When I was there a year ago this was not a policy. After the fun surprise at check in, we go to our rooms, only to have our suite set to 90 degrees and smelling terribly of marijuana. I complained to the person there, but all she did was say shed tell her manager. I asked if there was any other room we could have, but she said they were all booked up. So I asked if there’s at least something that could be done about the smell and she went and got me a bottle of Febreeze. We sprayed down the room as much as we could and turned down the air. It still smelled of weed the rest of the night. The next day wasn’t horrible, though someone did come to our room and changed the trash despite a do not enter sign on the door. I’m pretty sure they used a deodorizer, too, as the room didn’t smell as bad. At check out the next morning, I informed the ladies at the desk again about the issue with the room (after someone had to go up and check our rooms for us to get our cash back). The woman at the counter immediately got defensive, claiming that nobody stays in those rooms during the week and nobody smokes up there. So either A - nobody reviewed that room after the last person stayed a WEEK ago, B - someone stayed in there the night before and the room wasn’t properly ventilated and cleaned and the heater wasn’t checked, or C - there’s an employee smoking it up in one of the more expensive king suites. Honestly, there are better places to stay. A year ago I would have told you to go here, but now, it’s just not worth it to us anymore, even at their low pricing.
Positive: There was plenty of parking. Negative: Despite the website advertising that there is a free breakfast there was no free breakfast and the pool was closed the entire stay. The carpet floors in the room were also sticky throughout and the whole room was damp with humidity.
We got to the hotel pretty late around 1am and we checked in fast, which was good because we were tired. We got our key cards and went to our room. When we walked into our room we were met with someone already occupying the room!!! We woke him up and I’m sure we scared him pretty good, heck it scared us pretty good!!We went back downstairs and told the front desk what happened and she gave us a new key card. Thankfully this room was unoccupied but needless to say we slept with the dead bolt locked and the chain on the door.We felt so bad for waking the guy up and we slept feeling unsafe. Needless to say that this is NOT ok!
DO NOT STAY HERE! I dont care what the other reviews say. The minute we walked in it smelled of smoke and grime. Even the air felt dirty. The bathroom was disgusting and we killed a cockroach on the ceiling. We promptly left and went to another hotel. Please save your money and time! Go somewhere else!
Room and bath were clean and comfortable. Stairway from pool area was dirty (we had dirty feet walking up from pool and carpeting was in disrepair on stairwell.)NO breakfast items available during breakfast hours. (Only coffee, no milk, toast, cereal, juice, bananas .... nothing and no one at the front desk to ask about this.)
Wow, where do I even start? From the beginning there were issues with the service at the hotel. When we made the reservation online, the confirmation had no address, so we called to double check the address. The woman that answered on the phone was super rude. We asked to confirm that we had the right address and she ended up giving us the wrong address. After a drive from Chicago, we end up circling an address that doesnt exist, so we had to call back and confirm to later be told the address we had pulled online was correct after all. The keycards didnt work and we had to go multiple times to have the keycard reprogrammed. The entire floor we were on smelled like cigarette smoke and weed -- there were signs everywhere that said no smoking - interesting. The room itself was decent - nothing special. However, we noticed that there was no tv remote and there were only three towels - three of us were staying in the room (one child, 2 women). We called the front desk.. The lady at the desk had the worst attitude on the phone. Informed us rudely that extra towels are not provided and that if we wanted a remote, we had to go down and get one. Long story short, my mother went down with a credit card and offered TO PAY to just get one extra towel. We were told the only way to receive additional towels would be to bring our dirty ones to the front desk --- uh, what!?Absolutely the worst service with the rudest employees. Ive never been to a hotel with this level of inferior service. We also booked the hotel for 5 days/4 nights... We only spent one night there and checked out by afternoon the next day. Ended up checking into the Quality Inn -- much better service and cleaner hotel.
Positive: Nothing. Negative: We did not stay and they charged our credit card anyway. The room was disgusting. The sink was really gross and the toilet seat was not even the right size for the toilet. Everything about it felt like you would get a disease if you slept there.
Horrible hotel, not recommended at all!!! They advertise things they dont have. There is a pool, but you cant use it. There is also a restaurant area, but they dont serve breakfast. Even if these are Covid related issues, they should not be advertised as being included. The front desk said, not my fault and there was no way to cancel without being charged. I also booked to bring dogs (thankfully we left them at home) and was told upon check in they wouldnt be allowed in my room if I did have them. There is a $100 cash deposit for the suites. Im guessing this place is party central because I had to sign something saying I wasnt having a party and give the deposit. I would not recommend this hotel for their shady practices and definitely wont visit any Baymont hotels in the future.
We had a terrible experience. Only stayed one night while traveling. After checking in a man that was in the lobby jumped in the elevator with us, trying get our room number and phone numbers, then offered to sell us pot. We finally escaped him, got in the room and slept for the evening. We got us early the next morning to head and to find out we have no bath towels. I literally had to dry off with a hand towel. Very disappointed.
We looked on line for hotel rooms in springfield ill for the night that was handicapped accessible, had a pool , and had breakfast at a reasonable price. we looked at all the reviews and the baymont by windham at 5871 south 6th st. rd was or choice . So , we called and booked a reservation there. When we got there we were notified That the inside pool and hot tub were closed, the breakfast was not continental but were in a bag. I ask to see the room I was given a key that was used and was worn out. the room was very clean. But, when I looked at the bathroom I was shocked. It was large enough for a wheel to turn around, the toilet was a tall toilet, and had rails all around. But, that is where they stopped meeting codes. And, anybody that has traveled with a handicapped person knows that the bathtub is very important, and that is why the codes were written as they are . The bathtub code states that bathtubs are no more than 9 inches tall on the entry side. they must have a seat at the opposite end of the shower head. They had none. They have rails in the bathtub and the shower wand is on a slide with a hose. The one there the slide had been broken and replaced with a permanently affixed above the shower. These codes are all found in books available on google and are to be adhered to to earn the blue chair on the door and advertise that they are ready to accept guest that are handicapped. Upon asking the girl at the front desk if they had another handicapped accessible room available and she stated why all they had were just like this one. I had to take this room as handicap rooms are tough to find the same day as you travel, and that is why we booked ahead, and were disappointed when we got there.
Positive: Location Negative: Yes. Took 45 minutes to get checked in and we where the only ones at the counter. In the room, the refrigerator didnt work, tv didnt work and phone didnt work. Clerk took the tv remote to put batteries in it at 6:30 pm and never brought it back.
My husband and I planned this trip last minute and they were able to give us a room for a night. The front desk was definitely helpful. Our room was not exactly what we expected the tv was crooked, our phone had no buttons to reach different services and we were not left a list, and we were given the tinniest towels. But, the a/c and heating unit were nice it worked really fast. The bed was comfortable but, the pillows were not definitely recommend asking for more. The pool area had a decent size pool and hot tub. But, it was really steamy in there and the ceiling was leaking from the rain. The water also had an oily feeling as if they put too many chemicals. There definitely was not enough towels to accommodate the guests. They also do not allow you to take towels to the room with you which is ridiculous and extremely dangerous. The lobby is slick I am 7 months pregnant and almost fell and I was walking. There was also a lot of unsupervised children that almost fell running in and out of the lobby. Parking is limited and guests are only able to enter the front. It was frustrating with the rain. Check out was easy.
Stayed here less than 2 weeks ago on Wednesday and everything was great. Called today at 2:30 to ensure pool and hot tub were still open as they were less than 2 weeks ago and we were told yes. Booked room and arrived at 4 pm to be told the pool area is closed monday trough Thursday and had been for 3 weeks which is inaccurate because we were here less than 2 weeks ago. No options to cancel to go somewhere else even though it was made clear we were here because we were assured pool and hot tub were available because they dont allow same day cancellations.
Right at par and nothing more. If you are looking for a nice place to stay, this probably isnt it. If you are just looking for a place to stay, here it is. Its clean enough, the beds are made, hot water in the shower, and the mini fridge actually keeps your stuff cold. If you have a question for the reception desk worker, theyll answer your question - just dont read into it too much when they dont smile at you and say excellent question first - they dont do that kind of thing here.
Staff was super nice but the hotel leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately. All of the pool chairs were broken. Many ceiling tiles were covered in mold. Celings water damaged. Bedroom smells like mold. Fridge didnt work. Hide a bed was broken. Hotel floors were dirty. Continental breakfast was muffins.
Rude front desk workersThey don’t do their jobs unless u complain and when you do complain they get very rude wanna fight! very dirty and overpriced it would be ok if it was nicer people working maybe we could ignore the stains on the walls and dust on those mixed matched old lamps
Room had Questionable stains on floor as well as used bandaid no towels told that pool was not usable till Friday sat sun. charge on credit card right away said they dont do that till day of check out . foul mouth of manager after explained problems. and no hot breakfast bad oder of marajuana Il never stay here again
I would give the night shift desk attendant a -10 if that was an option. She was the most rude and unhelpful human I have ever encountered. I stood at the desk for 15 minutes waiting to be helped only to find she was in the corner wrapped up in a blanket sleeping. She made me feel like a complete inconvenience for waking her up AT WORK. I will NEVER encourage anyone to stay here simply because of that..... might be a nice hotel but never made it past the front desk.
Would not recommend this hotel. The staff was rude and not professional. The room we stayed in the toilet was broke and kept running the whole time we were their. Most of the outlets didnt work in the room. The alarm clock and 2of the lamps did not work. The room was extremely hot and the air did not work properly. Overall I would not recommend staying here.
Very run down location. Everything was old and peeling, especially the furniture when toy check in. Pool and breakfast area were closed with no alternatives. There was no mention of this on the booking site and when arrived and asked for a refund I was told I could not because I already paid online. The room itself had significant damage to the ceiling, which some was partially repaired but still lots of discoloration and water and patch spots.
None of the listed amenities available, and if you are looking for a non-smoking hotel this aint it. Just because its not allowed doesnt mean that rule is followed, so if you have asthma or serious allergies like me avoid this at all costs. The only saving grace was the very friendly and helpful woman working the front desk (10pm June 18th, didnt catch her name but she deserves credit for being the reason we didnt just leave)
Stayed there three nights end of May. Supposed to have been four, but left early. No room service, ever. No in room coffee. No continental breakfast. No perks at all. At checkout, girl said Id be refunded for fourth night. Havent received it yet, and after three calls, probably wont.
This hotel could use alot of work, there were stains on the mattress, Iron left a stain on my shirt and you could tell that the attempted repairs were done by someone who didnt know what they were doing. I stayed 1 night here by myself but if Family was with me I would have left. Mattress was not comfortable at all and I could hear the room above me stomping around.
The lady at the front desk is rude. I checked in on Wednesday and was told that they need a $50 breakage deposit. Any hotel I have stayed at never asked for this. I gave the lady $60 and never got a $10 back then I went to ask for my money and she claimed that she gave it to me when my boyfriend and best friend never grabbed it
Our room was very disgusting! Mattress was stained and dirty, mold growing under mattress, heater would not keep an accurate temperature, toilet dirty and stained, sheets crusty. On top of all that the pool was broken, and the breakfast did not accommodate for my peanut allergy. Brought my concerns up to management, and their questions for me was why are you looking under the mattress? Really?!?! I was offered a discount for next time I come by.I also had two family members stay in different rooms. Their experience on room cleanliness was the same. In fact one of them had to move rooms 3 times due to toilet not flushing, broken heater, and dirtiness. PLEASE do yourself a favor, and stay some place else.
The room was clean except for a noticeable layer of dust on the wall. The pool area was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Even noticed we had more than three guests on check in and gave us extra towels so we wouldnt have to call down in morning. The breakfast was a great selection and tasted good. Could use more room in the breakfast area. Overall a comfortable and great experience with a good price tag.
When I checked in at the hotel and got into my room at 9pm, it clearly hadnt been properly cleaned. There was long strands of womens hair hanging on the shower walls and a sticky substance on the floor in front of the sink. I went to the front desk to ask for housekeeping to come and clean the shower and was informed there was no one there from housekeeping to clean my room. She offered no suggestions and when I asked to speak with a manger, all she would tell me is that there was no manager there that night. I asked when housekeeping would be in in the morning so they could clean my shower first thing in the morning. She said no one would be there until 8:30am which I told her was very unacceptable since I had to shower prior to that and be somewhere early that morning. I ended up having to leave, buy cleaner, and clean the shower walls myself and wipe down the floor in front of the sink to clean a sticky mess off the floor.I will no be returning to this establishment. The front desk clerk either didnt pass along my concerns to her manager or did tell the manager, but the manager didnt feel the need to reach out to me. I was very disappointed.
The lady at the front counter was completely rude. For Springfield residents, they have to put a $150 deposit on their room. The room I got was $69. Ridiculous! I rented this room because I was treating one of my friends special needs daughters to a night out of her group home for good behavior. We got to the room and at the time everything was okay we went down the stairs to the pool and there were several different kinds of bugs dead and alive on the stairs. GROSS! We left for dinner then came back to the room and I noticed that we only had 1 towel and 2 half rolls of toilet paper with no spares. So I called down to the front desk and asked to bring those items up. She then asked me didnt you just check in.(not sure what that has to do with anything) I said yes and we do not have enough towels for showers. She said okay I will bring some up. Never did. Then called down again and no answer. Next morning we came down for breakfast and I noticed there was no coffee left I walked up to the same rude lady and asked if more coffee could be made and she said she would shortly. Comes in takes the coffee dispenser to make coffee never came back. So went back upstairs we packed up our things and proceeded to check out. Different guy checked us out and I said I needed my $150 deposit back. He says okay let me check the room for damages then we will give you it back. Waited 15 minutes for that. Then comes back and gives me my cash back. Told me to have a good day. I wanted to flip him off but I didnt. I do not at all recommend this place at all! I gave it a 1 star but doesnt even deserve that!
First coming into the hotel it was very nice, clean and welcoming. The room felt moist when we got to it so we turned on the air and that helped. The air conditioner turns off after like 10 mins so it’s kind of annoying at night. The room binder that has all the info has the wrong times in it, it said the pool opened at 9 but it actually opened at 9:30. The pool itself is very dark at night, basically only the lights in the pool, which didn’t attract a family friendly crowd so we waited until the morning to swim. The staff were all nice, especially the woman in the breakfast room!
Upon arriving I was treated very respectfully and I found the service by all staff very helpful and very hospitable. I felt very comfortable here and this is the first time I have ever stayed in a Baymont hotel but I know one thing is for sure whenever I am in this area this is the only hotel I will stay at. Way2go Baymont staff you guys were completely excellent in every way and I am glad I made the decision to stay here. I will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends. As a army veteran I highly value respect and you guys have definitely earned mine!
We stayed there last week and it was a wonderful experience. The manager on duty, Cody was exceptionally nice and accommodating, breakfast was good. They also have a membership at a nearby gym, that there guests can use! (they have a fitness room that is nice, but the equipment I wanted was not there). 10 out of 10!
The staff working here is not only friendly, but accommodated our needs. At first, walking into the room it smelled like freshly cleaned laundry. Second, there is an abundance of pillows on the most comfortable beds. Next, there was no dresser in my room, however all I did was call down to the front desk, and it came the next day. Then, the rooms come equipped with a mini fridge, coffee machine, microwave, hair dryer, and ironing board. Lastly, dont be afraid to ask staff any questions you may have. I cant express enough that this staff is the up most friendliest Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting. Even if it was for 5 days. I strongly recommend this Inn for everyone including kids. As an added bonus, the hot tub is more than hot... its relaxing.
Pool was closed. Had to wait for them to get the room ready because someone had a fight in the room the night before and ripped the curtains down. Sofa/sleeper mattress was torn and way too thin, kids refused to sleep on it for it being uncomfortable. Weve stayed here many times but this was the only negative experience weve had.
Positive: LEAVING! Negative: This hotel was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at in our life! It was dirty, smelly and disgusting! We were very disappointed and disgusted with everything and am requesting a refund! The rude and inconsiderate staff made the experience dreadful!
This place was neat and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast wasnt all that great, but it was better than most other hotels, there was so much to choose from, and the breakfast area was clean. Pool area was also clean. Rooms were clean and spacious, although that made the bathroom area smaller than we were used to. We will definitely return
****BED BUGS****I recently visited Springfield Baymont overnight for a family event. I have stayed at this location before for a graduation last summer. However, this time was not a good experience. During my booking I requested a room with two queen beds. Upon check in the desk clerk handed me a room key to a room with one king size bed. The reservation said two adults and 2 children 17/14. Why would she give me a room with one bed? She adjusted my room to room 320. We were satisfied until the morning. Our son woke us up early because of discomfort. He was bitten by bed bugs in his sleep. We showed the mangers our findings and check out early.
The staff is very nice. BUT We booked the room to use the pool while we were in town for one night. The kids were super excitedabout going swimming in January. Unfortunately The pool heater is broken and the water was freezing cold. Felt bad for the front desk help the room keys dont work for 3 more weeks and the staff has to open your door everytime. . . That didnt bug me as bad as the pool situation did. So aggravated.
We were told the pool was open and they have continental breakfast neither was true.We were told it was handicap accessible I couldnt fit in the bathroom in my wheelchair it wasnt then to top it off the room was dirty and the sheets had stains. The air didnt work noone would answered the phone all night. I will never stay at that location again
Stayed here for my 50th birthday last week and we woke to our snacks and an entire box of donuts covered in Ants! They changed our room to a room that the toilet didnt flush, bar/handle in shower was broke. Terrible service and they only gave us a 25$ credit. Should have gotten a free night. We will not be back.
I just had the WORST experience Ive EVER had in a hotel. When I walked in to check in there were 5 ppl ahead of me with no masks. Out of the 2 front desk chicks 1 was maskless and the other who was wearing her mask on her chin (whos name is INDIA and is THE GENERAL MANAGER) so I politely asked if they are still enforcing mask policy and I was told I needed to worry about myself!!! I said I am worried about MYSELF, MY health and the health of my children that are staying with me here! Then as this exchange is happening the 5 maskless guests walked by and she very rudley told them that they needed to wear their masks because THIS guest (as INDIA POINTS at me!!!) is worried about you not having on your mask. Then INDIA did it AGAIN to some other guests that walked by while Im still in the check in process. I said There areSigns everywhere that enforce your mask policy and your going to bust ME out to the guests that its ME? .....Im furious by this point. It is HER JOB to enforce policy to ensure the safety of guests!! So now Im wanting to leave but cant because I would have lost my money since I booked through Priceline. We were also required to provide a credit card AND 50$ cash deposit!!!!! Next we go to the pool that has a chlorine cloud so thick you cant see the other side of the pool or the bottom of the pool. The hvac system was also out the last time we stayed there over Christmas so they obviously dont care. About 6 employees/ friends and children are in the sauna so we couldnt. use the amenities we came for as paying guests. The elevator has no inspection permit and the hallways smelled lime weed grow operation. This hotel is a giant saftey hazard . The general manager India needs replaced and lessons in customer service She is rude and needs to learn the proper way to deal with guests and how to treat the employees she was rude to in front of me or this hotel is going to continue to go downhill. We are regulars and we will NOT be staying there again. Im am outraged at the way I was spoken too and the unprofessionalism of someone that is supposed to be the GM. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Dont spend your hard earned money on a place that doesnt care about your saftey.
Hotel itself was fine. Staff was Horribly rude. From check in to check out, when Sarah rudely muttered under her breath after i asked for a receipt. I said oh, what was that? She replied Have a nice day which was clearly not what she intially said. We will not return after being treated so rudely. Oh and she wasnt wearing a mask as currently required.
Our very short stay Consisted of talking to a very rude front desk person with no mask. No one in the building was wearing a mask. There was a giant sign on the front door saying that everyone had to wear a mask. When I asked the gentleman at the front desk about it he said that that is not a state law and that they don’t follow those rules. We were going to check out after a few days, but decided that after just 10 minutes we wouldn’t even be comfortable or safe staying there. He would not give us a refund. He gave us a really hard time and used foul language when we were leaving. He even called the police who of course consisted of talking to a very rude front desk person with no mask. No one in the building was wearing a mask. There was a giant sign on the front door saying that everyone had to wear a mask. When I asked the gentleman at the front desk about it he said that that is not a state law and that they don’t follow those rules. He gave us a really hard time and used fall language when we were leaving. He even called the police who of course, sided with us, being voices of reason. Corporate will be getting a nice telephone call from us as soon as the sun rises tomorrow. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Filthy filthy filthy.
Room was clean, bathroom small but super clean. Pool area and hot tub ok. Bed was fantastic!! Beware at night marijuana was smelled throughout the whole second floor and hallways. Also the other access doors do not lock so property is not secure. No manager on property.
I would never ever stay here again there cleaning ladies were rude when we would talk to them. Plus they started to ignore use when we asked for a bag to switch out the trash. We ended up taking our own trash out. The beds were discussing and the carpet was not vacuumed. The toilet was not cleaned. It had yellow crust. And talking about the pool. It was really cloudy you couldn’t even see your feet when putting it in the water same with the hot tub not clean nor sanitary. The lady who put out the breakfast was really rude and kept questioning everything I did and following my every move. very uncomfortable. This is not a family friendly place. Plus the hallway smelled like dog piss I would never stay here again and i’d advise you to do the same. don’t spend your money here.
Booked online and got to hotel and bed had been slept in and room was a mess!!!! Asked for refund they said they couldnt. Towels in bathroom had been used and trash was still in trash can!!!! Like seriously we booked hours ahead of time and spent over 100 to stay!!! I am not happy at all!!! Will never stay here again!!!!
The picture that is on the website for this hotel must be very very old or somewhat doctored because the patio does not look like this. The swing was torn up badly, the anti-gravity lounger was disconnected. The grill section had Tall Grass covered with sporadic weeds and crabgrass and the cooking grills were kind of bent. The roads were very clean, the staff was very very nice and accommodating. I would consider staying there again as they are extremely pet friendly! Almost every single person that stay there with the example of for when I saw maybe for had a dog or two that were kept under control clean smell good.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very friendly and courteous; they even called me after booking to let me know the pool was under repair. The room was tidy and the pillows plentiful, but the heater was very aggressive in how strong it was. The only real complaint I have is that they entrance on the street is rather unassuming, so I wasnt sure I had actually arrived and was slightly difficult to locate when it turned dark. Other than that, it was very enjoyable!
The room smelled really bad when got in it. They had a fan pointed to the floor and the window open. The room smelled like body odor and urine whether it was human or animal I am not sure. The air conditioner seemed to leaked out on the floor or could have been from them cleaning the carpet, but the floor was damp. The water pressure wasnt very good in the shower. The faucet in the sink wasnt fastened down or it seemed because it lifted up off the sink. The receptionist failed to tell us the full price of the room so when we paid, the price was more than expected. The breakfast was ok. The beds were hard, but the pillows were nice. They should have told us upfront the full price of the room instead of slipping the receipt under our door with the full price.
Had a chance to stay at this location. The customer service was top notch. Mr & Mrs Singh went beyond my expectations to make my stay great.Bathrooms immaculateBreakfast bar well stocked.I had a chance to stay in Jacuzzi suite, it was well worth every dime. I had drove 9 hrs straight, once I reached there got a really nice welcome. The entire staff made me feel like I was home. Everyone was joking, laughing but were very professional towards the guest.Hot tub, heated indoor swimming pool relaxes you.I would recommend this place to my family and friends. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by.
It wasnt bad. Everything was about how youd expect. The room had a fridge and microwave which was nice. There was an empty McDonalds bag hidden behind the left bed. It was hidden in such a way that I understand how the cleaning person missed it. Overall I have no complaints. If youre not snobbish, this hotel will do.
The new owner takes so much pride in his hotel. Walking in - you say wow. Not your typical old looking Baymonts. The staff is amazingly nice. Rooms were upgraded 2 years ago and he wants to redo them all already. Rooms were quiet. Clean. Beds and pillows were so comfy. Wonderful water pressure and nice and HOT. For any frugal business travel - this is a hidden gem. I checked out thinking I would be done with business - and nope. So of course, I went right back to my new favorite hotel.
Well you get what you pay for. There was some construction going on in some of the rooms around us doors were left wide open. It wasnt noisy just strange that all these rooms were open. The hot tub didnt work. The bathroom floor was the little gross. Breakfast was good and if youre on a budget its worth it.
We were upgraded to a suite with a jacuzzi, nice. Fan was a little noisy, but windows opened. Room smelled when we first arrived, staff was very accommodating and willing to help. We keep the room as it was late and we were tired. Mattress was very comfortable, TV was not high definition, for the price we couldnt complain. It was clean. Good location, near restaurants.
Have stayed here many times. Wont be back. Hall smelled of pet urine, walls were mildewed in the hallways. One area of wall was open with bare fiberglass. Room was dirty. Hot tub was ridiculously filthy. No bubbles. Pool had ick floating on top. My goodness, clean it up. Desk clerk never popped her head out of the back office once during my trips out to the car and back. Never spend a dime here again...
Very nice staff...brighter light would have been nice for in bathroom. Break fast eggs were very tasty...second stay...10 months later. Sad that 4 tv remotes did not work for us...and not much help at front desk. The beds were so comfy...and the pillows too. very nice fluffy towels in the bathroom. Willing to stay at again...
The only reason I would give them 1 star was for the staff in breakfast who went out of her way to help when she found out how not great our stay was & the desk staff who intervened with a gentleman who was making me very uncomfortable (I didnt know she was involved until the next morning). I felt so uncomfortable I blocked the door with luggage before going to bed.Additionally the pool was so cloudy I couldnt see my feet. I ended up with a welt larger than a softball on my back from the hot tub jets. There were plastic bags hanging from the ceiling outside the pool that made it difficult to open the pool door & the door to the stairwell. Honestly there was a room at the top of those stairs that had some funny locks on them (which added to the creepy person following me and my daughters everywhere made me feel extremely uncomfortable). We were approached almost the minute we got out of the room (at 7:15 am) by housekeeping about what room we were coming from so they could start cleaning, the room was ours until 11. I then brought in a small bag from my car to throw away and was told I had to take it to my room (which housekeeping was already in) instead of throwing it away in the common garbage. We were trying to get on the road for 7 hours of driving and it was just the last thing after the stay I needed to be running all over trying to throw away a small bag of garbage (think smaller than a Walmart bag). It was truly one thing after another. While I appreciate those who tried to help...based on my experience we will never stay at this hotel again!
No curb appeal but when we walked in it smelled nice and looked good. The carpet is very nice in the halls. Some people were at the desk in their swim clothes hanging out. Some crew like a road crew were hanging in the lobby also.Halls are nicely painted and cleaned. Our room was 202Yuck!Like it had been sitting for months.Dusty, felt dirty. Desk had sticky food residue on it, sink wouldnt drain. We asked for a blanket and the one they gave us was almost thread bare. And dirty. They had great towels next to old crunchy towels. The shower curtain was filthy and looked real worn. The shower water when turned on smelled musty and rusty but it cleared up.The lamp beside the bed was dead. The furniture and fixtures were dusty, smeared and dirty. The shower was ok, the water pressure great.Dirty bathroom walls though.Shampoo was nice. The plastic screen for the air was broke.Room looked plesent at first and smelled nice but felt gross. The desk chair head part was all worn off.Was worried to use the phone to check our voicemail because it was gross. The mirrors were clean and the floor clean.Overall, they must be gradually updating things. Understandable and they are doing a good job. However their cleaning department needs to be supervised and retaught.
One star for cleanliness. Our room was not cleaned. Marks and dirt on all surfaces. Dirty bedcovers. Trash on floor and walls.Renovations in progress, felt very dirty in halls.Staff was friendly, helpful, and quick to remedy the situation.I will not choose to stay at a Baymont hotel ever again.
Our room was great : Everything was comfortable & clean! The BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE ENCOUNTERED AT ANY HOTEL WE STAYED!We had our two parrots along for our trip and I called hotel just to confirm pets were allowed- yes pets are allowed & fee of $10 per pet , per night - Im okay with that.Arrived late and check-in was so friendly & welcoming! I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone! Thanks for a pleasant nights rest and OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Apparently, if you have similar names, they will allow another guest to cancel your reservation. Why would you ever check someones id to confirm?Completely ridiculous situation to begin with, but only made worse by staff that seem incompetent to correct it. Is it so uncommon for one person to book two rooms? And what happened to guest confidentiality? The kicker was when the clerk smirked, ha, he paid for your room. Wow... And this was in front of other guests no less. The only plus to this ordeal was I did not get charged and was able to book elsewhere. Will never stay here again and 100% recommend you avoid it as well.Management should be embarrassed.
Very convenient! Right off interstate, across from a gas station, right next to cracker barrel, McDonalds and dollar general! Its under renovations, but all the staff are friendly and accommodating! Room was comfy and their shampoo, conditioner and soap smell and work great! Got to use the pool and hot tub! There was a 5 year old girls birthday party the night we stayed, very energetic and polite kids! Loved being part of the pool party! Breakfast was good; cerial, yogurt, bagels, eggs, biscuits and gravy, the mini waffle maker was our fav! Breakfast lady was friendly and had a great conversation! Wonderful stay!
Wonderful stay here! Rooms clean. They attended to my moms needs well with a smile & friendly service. The breakfast was excellent! Best Ive ever had at a Baymont or Super 8 in years. We especially loved Ms Rasa, the breakfast room attendant. Such a lovely lady who took great care of all who partook of the free breakfast. We are definitely staying here again on our next trip to Chicago.
The beds were very comfortable. There were only 2 towels for 4 people. Fridge wasnt very cold. Expedia advertises that there is a restaurant, room service, horseriding rentals, down conforter, and bar in the hotel. That isnt true. There is no hot tub at the pool. They do have suites with a hottub. Wifi is very slow. No guide on tv to know what is playing. The BBQ grills are overgrown with plans. Thats why we picked this hotel. The picnic area is gated but cant getto grills from patio.
It was a nicely refurbished older hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, te rooms were clean and the indoor pool was awesome. The breakfast was decent, eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, juice. The first floor was a bit noisy, we could hear the people walking around in the room above us (there was a creak in the floor above) but otherwise, a good hotel!
Could not get into our room, batterys dead. Three staff members couldnt change the battery. Moved us to another room with a jacuzzi tub. Had no need for it as we were traveling with adult family. Used bar of soap in the tube, finger prints on the mirror, generally not clean. Charged us full price for the room and called it an upgrade.
We booked our room, it showed that we had a couch and two beds. When we got there it was only two beds and no couch. We had to sleep 3 people on on bed, and 2 people on the second bed. Also when we got there the cleaning lady was swearing up a storm, and we had kids with us!
Charged my credit card several times over two months after I stayed at the hotel. Staff is very rude when trying to resolve the matter. Swore at me and told me to dispute the charges with my credit card company. When staying at the hotel the staff who cleaned my room also cleaned me out. Stole my blue tooth speaker as well as my wife’s Victoria Secret Hoodie. So after getting my credit card cleaned out they cleaned me out as well. Beware and don’t stay here.
As a Diamond member of the Wyndham reward program I receives free room upgrades. I was told when calling to scheduled a reservation that per there owner, they DO NOT upgrade to the king suite with a Jacuzzi and I would have to pay a $100 deposit ! I advised her of the reward program and she was beyond rude and said the owner does not participate in that program. I said OK I will just write a review... She said OK! and hung up on me....
Stayed for a special occasion and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were immaculate, the management team was very nice and welcoming upon entry. They they strive to get it right and make sure the guests have a great experience. I will definitely be back. Keep up the great work.
First, read the whole review. Its important to deciding if youll stay here.Second: the bad... this building is from the 70s, I think? The outside is certainly dated. If you want sleek and new, pony up the extra money and stay else where. That said, theres only so much that can be done with remodeling. My room was dusty, two pillows had make up face prints (yuck! ), and several other little things that said it hasnt been cleaned as I would expect. Breakfast, what is offered, is ok but not amazing. Eggs, sausage, cereal, waffles, fruit, etc.Third, the good... the staff here are amazingly friendly. One even offered to let me follow her to get to a small shop I couldnt find on my own. This place was quiet despite being near an interstate and right next to a Cracker Barrel. Its sort of tucked in behind other places and some trees. Youll need GPS to find the drive as you cant see it from road! The final good point, when the uncleaned room was reported to management, the result was instant apology and a thorough cleaning by staff and inspection by manager. Great results. I truly believe it was an isolated issue.Over all, I would stay again as the $63 a night blew away the competition and the people were fantastic. Be sure to ask about local restaurateurs for supper outings.
The bed was actually comfortable and had a lot of pillows. Ive stayed in more expensive hotels that had less comfortable beds. Its clean. I mean, the stairwell feels like theres grime permeating every inch of it, but I felt fine about the room and bathroom. It does smell weird. Maybe its the cleaner they use? You get used to it.I didnt get a chance to use the pool, but it looks *nice* and made me sad I couldnt use it.The worst part was the breakfast. I get that I only payed $60 for the night, so its not going to amaze, but it was gross. I felt like I was actively harming my body by choking it down.It was also a bummer that the Pet friendly hotel didnt have a way for me to bring my dog to breakfast. Theres an outdoor patio where I thought I could take him, but you cant get there without going through the no pet zone of the breakfast nook.

2022-03-30I really enjoyed my stay here. Very quiet room, clean and felt really safe. Many families there using the pool. My bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The water pressure was strong and remained the right temperature throughout my long shower. The employees from the front desk to the housekeeper were very kind.Location is great! Right off the interstate and next to Cracker Barrel, McDonalds, Circle K with gas, and Dollar General. Attached are photos of the room and view.I would rate them higher except that they are advertising a breakfast when there is none offered.Overall, the employees made the stay a great one at a nice price.

2022-05-28Horrible! Stay somewhere else! If I could give 0 stars I would! This hotel shouldn’t even be in business! Very disgusting! We immediately booked another hotel and cancelled here! Would not even sit on anything in the room, we even ate the cost of our reservation just to get out of there and stay somewhere else! Lobby looks NOTHING like the nice pictures shown online! Ugly dingy slip covers over what looks like couch seating, drapes look like they haven’t been dusted in 20 years, dark decor and wall paint so it’s not very inviting at all when you walk in. No Breakfast! Sign on the door says it has been canceled (for a while it seems) and doesn’t look like it will be offered again any time soon! The elevator smelled very strong of marijuana. Got to our room and the door looked like someone had broken in, it was all chipped up and falling apart right by the key pad/handle/lock. Holes in the walls everywhere. TV was practically falling off the mount it was on. Beds visually had dips in the center. Did not even attempt to sit/lay on them but I would imagine they are not comfortable at all. The toilet would not flush, took 5 tries just to get it to flush water! The lady at the front desk was nice but did not seem surprised when we came right back from our room to cancel our reservations!

2022-05-22Room is okay at best. Old furniture in our room. Not queen beds. One bed had slope in middle. No breakfast as promised and no explanation why. Only ice machine was on third floor. Luckily only had to stay one night.5-14-2022

2022-07-04Not a good experience! The amenities are not updated. The breakfast is not happening due to cdc, the pool is closed, the fitness center is closed, and you have to pay a $100 cash deposit if you got a suite. You also have to pay $100 deposit if you get the jacuzzi room...and kids are not allowed in that room. To get your deposit back they have to come check your room for damages at check-out. The only reason it got any stars were because the ladies at check-in and check-out were nice. This hotel shouldnt be affliated with Wyndham.

2022-03-22Positive: My dog could travel with us. The tall man on the night shift us amazing! Negative: The last time I stayed here I had a pleasant experience and a nice room. This stay I brought my dog and was given a very worn room. The door stuck and it smelled. The side door to the hotel wasnt secured, was stuck open and keypad was broken.

2022-04-19Unfortunately, it was an absolutely horrible experience, should be 0 stars. Across all the corridors there were leakage marks on the ceilings and cracks on the walls. Going there, the website mentioned that there would be breakfast, a pool, and a fitness center. The pool and fitness center were closed due to cracked ceiling and dirty areas. There was no breakfast and not even a take out bag. Covid restrictions are lifted in many places, but at least other hotels gave a take out bag. Definitely dont recommend you stay here, staff and management was not courteous at all.

2022-07-01Absolutely terrible. It took 40 MINUTES for some to get up to the front desk to help us. Bugs and flies EVERYWHERE. Smelt horrible. Diner closed. Beds are disgusting, stains all over them. Hallways and room smelt like smoke. Not one, not two, but THREE roaches I found in my room…absolutely disgusting. Workers were extremely rude. CIGARETTE burns in the wall, writing on the wall in the room. Tv remotes don’t work. Room barely has any lights, literally had to use my phone flashlight. Shower and bathroom was disgusting. No water pressure and it stayed cold the whole time. Air conditioner didn’t work. Had PISS all over the bathroom floor in the lobby. Service was horrible. Absolutely do not recommend staying here.

2022-02-28The shower didnt work. I had to give myself a shower using a cup and the bath spout. It was extremely difficult. There was blood on out sheets on top of that. So not worth the money. Not to mention the fact that I saw the staff yelling at a man who as upset money was taken out of his account that shouldnt have been. It was pretty disappointing. Overall cleanliness was probably a 4/10 at most. Staff was a 2/10

2022-03-21Hot water was lukewarm, no water pressure in the sink, sink leaks. The bedroom was run down. No ice on the first floor so had to go to second floor only for that ice machine to not work so had to go to the 3rd floor. No breakfast was served even though it states on their site that they serve breakfast. Their pool was closed until 6pm for cleaning from the day before instead of doing it during non pool hours. The bathrooms for the pool were absolutely disgusting! Mold on the celings, a piece of glass on the bathroom floor, trash all over them as well. The pool door was broke and it locked us inside the pool area. Overall would not stay again!

2022-04-04My sister reserved a 2 rooms for my nephew birthday and was treated so rudely. They gave her paid room away and told her they only had one room. Made her pay again for another room. Upset everyone. Lady at the desk was yelling at our other party with her. said to her no more birthday events will be booked at this hotel. Ruin the special day . I hope that lady realize with out our buiness from costumers she wouldn’t have a job! We have stayed there before and no problem but this lady was a so disrespectful. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
