I searched ALL over for a wedding band to go with my engagement ring. I could not find anything that I liked. I called Mr. Azar to see if he had any ideas and he sent me pictures and videos immediately. He was able to take the band that I liked and custom make it to fit my engagement ring only a couple of weeks before my wedding and at a great price. I would highly recommend coming here for any of your jewelry needs because they go above and beyond to make your vision come true!!

Peter and the entire staff at this store are nothing short of amazing! We have used them for regular care and cleaning of both of our wedding bands for years because they do a phenomenal job. This year, I wanted to add a wrap to my wifes oddly shaped engagement ring. Peter was AMAZING at helping me design a stunning custom wrap- Its truly a work of art and reasonably priced to boot. Peter is the absolute best!! I visited three times, one to shop around and try on engagement rings, one with my fiancé to learn about diamonds, and a third to resize the ring!Peter is so knowledgeable and his goal is to get you the best deal but the highest quality. Peter and his team are great!My husband and I happened to be walking by Azar jewelers and saw that they replace watch batteries. We ended up walking inside to replace the battery watch and met Peter. I found out that he also buys back gold. I collected some old and broken jewelry I had gotten from my grandmother over the years and brought it to him. He ended up making a beautiful simple gold wedding band for me from some of the gold - which is very sentimental to me and Peter understood that - as my husbands wedding ring was passed on to him from his grandfather. I also ended up using the rest of the trade in value and worked with Peter to design a white gold peridot and diamond ring. He also repaired and polished my husbands silver necklace. We both really enjoyed working with Peter and his team. He was very straightforward and honest and answered all our questions. He took his time with us and We never felt rushed. I will definitely be recommending him to anyone I know as a jeweler.

THE BACKGROUND STORY: My fiancé and I had been looking for an engagement ring for a while, but were not satisfied with anything that we found online or in person. Im not a fan of diamonds, and that presented a bit of a challenge. While we were on vacation at a resort in Mexico, we popped into the resorts jewelry store and fell in love with a blue-green tourmaline ring. It was a little too big, so I tried to take it to Kay Jewelers to get it resized when we came back from our trip. It turns out that the sales person in Mexico had stretched the truth on the materials a bit, and instead of white gold plated silver with white topaz side stones, it was just silver and cubic zirconia. Kay said that the side stones would have shattered if they attempted to resize. The ring also started to show wear and tear very quickly, much to our disappointment. Lastly, it hadnt dawned on us during our spontaneous engagement that we didnt see if the ring had matching bands, so we needed a double solution. Since we both loved the unique design, we decided to have the ring remade with upgraded materials, keeping the center stone from the original ring, and have custom bands made to go with the newly remade ring.THE LEAP OF FAITH: I prefer to support local, small businesses whenever possible, especially with a project this size. A quick Google search later, I found Azar. I was a little nervous because of the double conundrum, but they had amazing reviews so I decided to stop in. Peter talked me through his gameplan and reassured me that he would do his best to make me happy. Paraphrasing; I wont make you something I wouldnt give to my own wife.THE RESULTS: I just picked up my rings and I was so incredibly happy I literally cried and reached over the jewelry counter to give Peter a hug three separate times while we were wrapping things up! Peter and his staff are knowledgeable, friendly, honest, reasonably priced, and just all-around amazing. My engagement ring (and ring set) now ✨ SPARKLES ✨ and I know it will for forever. I will be going back to Azar for any of my jewelry needs in the future, and be singing their praises to friends and family until I lose my voice-- they have a customer (and a new megaphone) for life. 1 million out of 5 stars, go here, don’t waste your time or money at Kay jewelers or Jared, go to Peter and his crew at Azar! In a sea of greedy, money-hungry, faceless corporate cookie-cutter jewelry stores, Azar is the literal diamond in the rough. Kay Jewelers is just okay, and I Im not sure if Jarded if based off a fictional character or a real person, but Ive never heard of anyone doing their jewelry business with the real Jared. Peter Azar cares. When I started tearing up from joy, he smiled and said, This is why I do this.

I was about to buy a custom Moissanite* engagement ring from another local jeweler but had a hunch that their price was too high. I decided to shop around and am so glad that I did because I saved over $1500 (for a slightly better ring even!) from Peter (the owner, I think) at Azar Jewelers! I was quite dubious about it, felt too good to be true, but I worked with Peter and his associates over the following weeks, and I could not be happier with my experience and the result.Peter genuinely seems to care that his customers get the thing that is right for them...he discouraged me from choices that would have increased the cost of the ring because it wouldnt have been a good fit for what I was going for, incredible! When we were in person for the first time he said that he doesnt want to sell people rings, he wants to become their jeweler, and that is exactly how it felt during the weeks I was working with them. Peter and his team did such a fantastic job creating the most perfect ring for me. Nowhere else could beat Azar in quality and price (even online)! They take the time to teach you about the different diamond characteristics and will show you differences between them by bringing out various diamonds to compare. They are really attentive to your needs and make the whole thing a great experience.

He is honest and will always make sure you are completely satisfied with your purchase. He has created custom pieces for me over the years and in addition we have purchased beautiful pieces from him. Stop looking at jewelers right now and drive straight to Azar Jewelers.My now-fiancée and I had been talking about rings for some time. I asked her to choose a place she would like to go, because I wanted her to get exactly what she wanted. The surprise would come when I actually proposed. So, she did some research and found Azar Jewelers.We walked in and were immediately greeted by Peter. We had absolutely no idea what we were looking for or how to pick. Peter asked us if we were interested in learning the differences between rings, diamonds, and gold. He was very thorough and even explained to us how a ring is casted! Peter is incredibly knowledgeable and even went into the process of how diamonds are purchased. I was fascinated the entire time he was teaching us!My fiancée didnt immediately fall in love with any of the rings that were on display, so Peter suggested we design one. We found a cross between 2 rings, that together, was exactly what my fiancée wanted.Choosing diamonds was the next step. He pulled out a few options and explained the quality of each. He let us look at the diamond under magnification and told us exactly where to look if there were any minor blemishes. Based on our budget, Peter recommended the perfect diamond. The one we chose had 2 very minor blemishes in them, right at the edge of the diamond, so even under magnification, they were hard to see. He had another diamond which was slightly pricier, but the blemishes were in the middle of the diamond. To Peter, it wasnt about the selling price of the diamond, it was about our happiness and the quality of the outcome.Peter even went as far as showing us the laser engraved GIA certification inscribed on the diamond. It took me a while to eventually see it, but I thought that was so cool that he showed us that!Finally, once we had settled on the ring design and the diamond, Peter let us know that he would send over a CAD drawing. The first CAD drawing was close to what we wanted, but not exact. Peter and I discussed what changes we wanted and he sent them back to the designer. The second CAD drawing came back and it looked like what we wanted. My fiancée and I went back to Azar Jewelers to look at the wax rendering and it was PERFECT! Every detail was there.At this point, my fiancée was out of the equation. Peter called me and let me know the ring was in and my nerves were going crazy on my way there. I walked in and Peter smiled and said I had an amazing ring. He pulled out the ring and I was in awe. I cannot even begin to describe how happy I was.I never felt pressured during the time we were at Azar Jewelers. Peter made every conversation seem like it was between friends and I never felt like he was trying to make a sale. He genuinely wants his customers to be informed, whether or not they buy from him.Peter and the team at Azar Jewelers will absolutely get my business for our wedding rings and I have no hesitation to send my friends and family there either.I am 5 months late in writing this review, so Peter, I sincerely apologize.

My mother and I both recently purchased our jewelry through Peter. My mother found the most gorgeous 2 ct princess cut center diamond to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary. And I was able to find a beautiful setting for a stone I was looking to reset. What we liked about our experience at this store was Peter, who made our experience very personable and stress free. He was very knowledgeable and showed that he cares about the quality of his product. We never felt like he was pushing a sale on us, rather he was ensuring that we would walk out with a quality purchase at a reasonable price. Both rings turned out gorgeous and we are both extremely happy with our purchases. We look forward to returning to Peter for any future purchases that we plan to make.

Peter is very knowledgeable in this industry; he is not there to sell you on a product but rather get you what you want for the best quality and for the best price. I told him what I was looking to do (I wanted something very similar to my original ring, but bigger) and he brought in a number of stones for my husband and me to look at. They were all stunning, but as he taught me to look inside each one, I picked the one I liked best. He didnt have any rings in the store already made like what I wanted, so he had both of my rings custom made just for me. I was working with a tight timeline, and I was so pleased at how quickly Peter and his team got my rings done! The engagement ring is so gorgeous, and exactly what I had in my mind, and I love that my new wedding band includes my sapphire birth stones. During a recent renovation/de-cluttering project we accidentally threw out my wifes wedding rings. Ouch! To say my wife was crushed would be a complete understatement! We thought wed go back to the large national jewelry store chain we originally bought the pieces from to take a look and get something exactly the same or at least similar. On our way there we happened to stumble on Azar Jewelers just to take a look, and the rest is history as they say.You cant beat the service of a locally owned/operated business and Peter, his family, and staff are an exemplary example of how to run a business. They listened, took their time, made recommendations when we asked, and just made us very comfortable. It was more of an experience than just a purchase. With Peters tutelage I got to look at various loose diamonds using a jewelers loop and see the difference. He wasnt trying to sell us, he just wanted to educate us and compare various stones and highlight attributes of the diamonds, some of which significantly raise the value/price of the stone but are indistinguishable with the naked eye, so I REALLY appreciated that which speaks to their ethics.The last thing Ill share which I will never forget is when we decided on a stone and setting my wife, who doesnt like surprises asked when it would be ready? Peter looked at me briefly, then looked at her and said Thats between him and I, Im not telling you! The look on my wifes face was priceless as she thought he was kidding, but soon realized he was not and she was in shock and speechless. He did commit to having it done before Christmas (about 4 weeks away). Peter took my cell number and said he would text me. This idea was priceless, because Peter knew it would be done in a few days but wanted my wife to enjoy the thrill of being surprised. I wont get into the details of the surprise itself, but it was very good!Overall, their prices are very fair and comparable to large chains, but the overall value and experience are vastly superior and will be the reason we will go back for anything we need in the future. HIGHLY recommend!

Where do I even start!!! First of all, my Fiance said YES!!!From the minute I walked into the door, I was greeted by Peter and his staff. They were courteous and treated me with respect. The one thing that is great about Azar Jewelers is that, Peter walks talks to you like a friend. He guides you through the entire process and without trying to sell you something. He give you a 15-20 minute tutorial on the 4 Cs. Gives you an idea on what to look for in a diamond before even seeing the diamond itself. The ring that I custom created for my Fiance turned out gorgeous. Got so many compliments on the ring and the design. The ring is absolutely perfect! Never at all felt pressured to buy or make a decision at that moment. The professionalism, the honesty Peter and Co. provides is uncanny to anyone else Ive worked with. I have already recommended him to a few of my friends that are looking for engagement rings or just jewelry in general. I would highly refer anyone to him. If you get a chance to visit his store at the Arboretum in South Barrington, please do! You wont be disappointed.

My girlfriend and I walked in Azar jewelers (South Barrington location) and without even knowing us, Peter sat down for over an hour with us teaching all about diamonds. He made us feel comfortable, not pushy and made sure we had knowledge before we started picking anything out. Peter truly cares about picking out the best stones for his customers, and making sure they are happy with what they want, not what the jeweler wants them to buy. Peter and his team are amazing to work with! They will do whatever it takes to get it just right. Peter was very hands on throughout the whole process. I was wanting a very custom design and he sent me multiple different drawings to make sure everything was perfect! He also sent the final clay mold to make I loved it. My son inherited a +70 year lion ring that belonged to his grandfather, Leo. The lion ring, worn to the point of cracks and a misshapen face was a beloved ring and inheritance. I knew of only one jeweler who had the expertise to perhaps refresh the ring, Azar Jewelers of South Barrington. I handed the ring to Peter, the owner, who looked at the ring as I told its heartfelt story and its meaning to my son. Peter took the ring and said he would try a unique laser process to rebuild the ring without loosing its essence; the ring would retain its history, its substance, its meaning. I picked up the ring today, and cried upon seeing it. The ring had been restored to its original glory. It’s hard to believe but it’s been 20+ years already that Azar’s has been our family jeweler. We now have the second generation of our family starting their own relationship and traditions with Azar’s. Where do I begin? Well for starters, I live in Iowa and drove all the way down to Barrington just to go to Azar--yes theyre that good! Ive purchased two rings here and recommended Azar to my brother who also bought his girlfriends engagement ring from Azar. Theres just so much to say about Azar; about how amazing their staff is, how great of a selection they have, how they go above and beyond to make sure youre happy with the final product. They have a way of putting you at ease and making you feel so comfortable as soon as you walk through that door. Other jewelry stores can be intimidating, but not Azar. I have to say, I dont know much about jewelry, but for Peter and his staff that is in no way a problem. They walk you through every step while teaching and helping you make decisions. Its always a good visit going into Azar. You can never go wrong. Peter and his team have made me a customer for life. I will without a doubt, keep going back for years and years.

The great thing about Peter is that he’s not a great sales person, he’s a great jeweler! He didn’t have to pressure me into buying from him, because he knows he can get me the best quality at a great price. When we figured out what I wanted, he went above and beyond to find exactly what I wanted for $2000 cheaper than any other place I went. He made calls, and got something shipped in and created just for me and I can’t thank him enough. I had already gone for a handful of quotes for an upgraded setting to my original solitaire. I did not like the other local jewelers as much as they seemed pretentious and not very nice. The Azar team was very friendly and the showroom is beautiful and modern. He quoted me a very reasonable price. He was communicative, honest and professional. I am planning my next jewelry project and will be back!

2022-04-15I cant even express how thrilled I am right now. My fiance got my engagement ring from Peter with a beautiful cushion diamond. At the time I thought I wanted a plain band, but later decided I wanted to upgrade my band as our wedding band purchase. We went in and talked to Peter about what I wanted. I was actually a little nervous that the final product wasnt going to be what I imaged and I was right, because it was BETTER then what I imaged. I am blown away. 2021-10-21I love Azar’s! Peter is the best ring master in town (ha… get it). I have a very unique engagement ring band that I could not find a wedding band to match. I had an idea in my head but couldn’t find it anywhere. Peter turned that idea into a reality and made a custom wedding band set! Then when we had our second wedding (thanks covid) I used it as an excuse to get another custom ring! Rose gold watermelon tourmaline diamond ring. I love saying how I have my own jeweler :)

Peter at Azar Jewelers was so helpful and really took his time to educate me on what to look for in a Diamond. He kept me up to date on ever step of the production process and never tried to sell me anything I didn’t need or want.
