I know it says five stars, but I gave this place 10. Hands-down the best tattoo shop I’ve ever been too!!! The piercing guy is awesome and respectful with good conversation as well. He explains well. He also gives discounts. Nipples tongue nose and lip piercings all dope. Healing process is quick unlike some other shops with not knowing what they’re doing. I highly recommend anyone who wants a piercing and/ or tattoos!! Although I haven’t had the pleasure personally to receive a tattoo, but ppl I know has and they have a handful of great artist.
Hands down the best tattoo shop in the Chicagoland area. Everyone that works here is awesome. Anthony Cicero has been my tattoo artist for years now. Anthony has talent beyond words. He is a true artist and never fails to deliver on beautiful tattoo work! Kris the piercer has done multiple piercings for me and they are all wonderfully done. If you ever have had issues with piercings or the jewelry he is always sure to make sure the problem is resolved. Cassandra another tattoo artist is such a sweetheart and Taylor at the front desk holds the place down! Love this place and always walk out happy!
Cody pierced both of my girls ears. I was impressed with his professionalism. He was kind, patient, walked them through the entire process, and was friendly. He made sure before he pierced them, that the holes were placed perfectly.It was an excellent experience.I read different reviews of different shops and Im very happy that we chose Atmosphere.I highly recommend Cody.

I got two symmetrical tattoos from HyeSook and they did an AMAZING job! They took the time to make sure the placement was exact and perfect, which gave me confidence that they cared about the work. The tattoo took the exact amount of time that they estimated it would, and the pricing was reasonable as well.
I had Cody for a piercer! I had ripped my nose ring out. And the hole closed up. And he repierced it in a better spot! I had no pain! No nothing. He takes time to explain things to you! By far best piercer ever!
I came in to get my nose piercing checked. I had to get it removed because Bead World did an awful job with piercing my nose. Cody was so nice and comforting when I was upset. Really great guy and he knows what hes doing. I will be coming back here when its time for me to get my nose pierced again.
Great tattoo experience, I consider this place my new favorite. Definitely recommend setting up an appointment though, the two time I’ve gone into the shop they’ve been packed. I didnt like waiting a month to get my tattoo but the results were incredible!
The shop was extremely clean and appropriate sanitation maintained. Jason was an amazing artist. Really helped to soothe the nervousness of a first time client. I went to the shop for a quick consultation on a Roman numeral tattoo that I wanted to get ASAP. The receptionist went in back and asked a guy if he could do a quick consultation and I heard him say no. Then they proceeded to joke around and talk amongst themselves while having me wait up front. I find this completely rude and a waste of my time. I’ve heard so many great things about this shop from friends and it’s a shame that I didn’t get the same experience.
I went in to get my ears pierced for the first time, they had great vibes, the space was clean, and where I was a little cramped but they were great at putting me at ease. But then it started to feel rushed, or like I was bulldozed through the process. I was not able to look at or decide on what studs I wanted and would have to wear for the next several weeks. I was given a set that was the exact opposite of what I wanted and was embarrassed to wear. After realizing I was physically upset I broke down and ended up driving an hour to Chicago to have them switched out at another shop. I was more than willing to risk switching them out, and worst case scenario letting them heal and pay another shop to have them pierced again. Honestly if its not your first time getting piercings youll probably be fine, but if it is bring someone thatll advocate for you and slow down the process.
Cody is the piercing artist. Between me and my daughter we have gone to him 4 times. He takes his art very seriously and the end product shows. Weve always been completely happy when weve walked out of Atmosphere.
Got a nose piercing, navel piercing, and a set of nipple piercings done by cody, and hes amazing at what he does! hes incredibly knowledgeable, calm, and patient, hes approachable and easy to talk to, and he makes an experience that can often be really scary and anxiety-inducing instead very easy and exciting :) he answered any and all questions that i had, made sure i knew how to care for my piercings properly, and encouraged me to come back if i needed anything at all. im not even afraid of getting piercings anymore.the staff is also very kind and patient, they communicate clearly and in good timing. every time ive called to ask about any questions i had, they were accommodating and caring. i havent gotten a tattoo done here (yet) but the artists also seem really nice, passionate, and talented.atmosphere is my go-to for anything piercing and tattoo related from now on! thank you for making me feel comfortable, relaxed, and safe.(P.S, pls add cody to the website)

Kris took the time to explain the process and the history behind the daith piercing and migraines. Piercing was quick. Some pain on the drive home but havent had any pain since. Which is super surprising considering its a pretty thick area to have pierced. Ive been following the cleaning regiment with the solution I purchased there. Hoping the healing process continues to go smoothly! Kris and the staff are super nice. Check in process was quick and easy on a mounted tablet. I only waited for max 10 mins though apparently they can have longer wait times, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Looking forward to getting tattooed by Cassandra there next week!
Had an awesome time getting my tragus pierced here- piercer was professional, reassuring, and made it very quick while talking me through it. No problems at all and not as expensive as many places make piercings. Would def go again.

Thus place is excellent. After getting a nose piercing, I had a keloid growth. They answered all my questions and even removed the keloid with no extra charge. Thier customer service is also top notch.

If you want a great tattoo from a great artist go see Danny Murphy book an appointment and get ready to love your new tat! Ill come back and post the finished product, but so far my time as been well spent and my money too.
Only had a piercing done but the place looked super clean had professional staff. I had perfect timing but i was in and out within 20 mins. Daith piercing done by Kris. He was straight forward and a pro. After explaining the process and aftercare, piercing was quick and easy. Piercing and placement of ring was done in 20 seconds maybe. Excellent and would highly refer for piercings. Havent gotten a tat there..yet.

I got my first tattoo here by HyeSook and could not have asked for a better tattoo/tattoo artist! I was a bit anxious when I came in and wanted to make sure every part of the tattoo and placement was perfect. HyeSook was totally understanding with me and walked me through her artistic design of the tattoo and how if we went bigger it might be a bit distorted. She was clean during the whole process and tattoos at a sort of rhythm, which makes breathing very easy. The linework, shading, and design are all phenomenal. She asked if I wanted white highlights and how they would make certain aspects of the tattoo pop, which I get compliments on all the time. Overall, HyeSook is professional, clean, fast, and created an amazing piece of art work that I will have forever. I 100% would recommend her!
I got my industrial here a couple days ago, they were incredibly nice, professional and you could tell they knew what they were doing. They listed out the risks and aftercare procedures very clear and i wasn’t left confused on how to care for it. The room where i was pierced had so much character to it as well, it made me feel comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get a piercing or tattoo.
My mom got a beautiful tattoo here and I got a really well done piercing. everyone is so nice and they know what they are doing. You won’t be disappointed here.Update:I got a whale shark tattoo last night by Mae. She is so awesome and her tattoos look amazing. The atmosphere is great there and everything is clean. LOVE this place! So professional and welcoming. I’ve had my nose pierced here. They also changed my piercing to a hoop when I was healed which was great. My favorite by far was my tattoo from Mae. She was beyond wonderful. Her line work literally blew me away. 100% going back in the near future and recommending her to any and everyone!
I stopped in today somewhat spontaneously and I was able to get a tattoo and piercing without a long wait or appointment. Jason did a great job on my first ever tattoo. He is very friendly and professional. Cody is an excellent piercer who was able to re-pierce a rejected rook piercing for me done the correct way. Cody is kind and professional as well. Went as a walk Im with my friend who wanted to get her ears pierced. I ended up getting my eyebrow pierced and septum opened again as I had had it before. Cody was just fantastic! Talked us through everything and made us feel at ease each time. Definitely will be returning to get some more done and recommend to anyone i know!
I’ve been here for 2 separate piercings and 1 tattoo. And every time the experience has been really great. Everyone is really professional and knowledgeable about their specific skill. Kris and Cody are great piercers and Hyesook did a beautiful tattoo piece on me.Everything in the studio is clean and tidy and a good environment to get work done.
Sat afternoon I got my first piercing at Atmosphere and enjoyed the whole process. I arrived when they first opened, and the place became very busy quickly. The staff at check in were great and accommodating; the check in process very organized. When it was time to get my piercing, Kris was extremely polite and professional. Even though I had two dermal piercings in the past, he explained the whole process to me on how they presently do micro dermal piercings since the old way was archaic. He was very knowledgeable and very pleasant to be around, and did a great job piercing me. I have 5 more piercings I want, and Ill be going back to him for all my piercing needs. The cherry on top was when I went to pay. The gentleman at the front said he normally charged $70, but I was charged $60. Oh, I must also mention how clean the place was. Overall, a perfect experience. Thank you Atmosphere and Kris!
I went to get my doubles and my industrial almost a month ago and I absolutely love my industrial. Cody did a great job explaining the aftercare and was very friendly. He was very calm and professional and did an amazing job making me feel more comfortable and relaxed. I did receive some bumps on my piercing and when I called Cody to ask about what I should do about them, he was very detailed and clear about how to get rid of them and assured me that it is completely normal and nothing to worry about. This place is super clean and had a very short wait time. definitely will be coming back for more piercings

I was a walk-in. They had no problem with that. They ask you for an id and asks you to answer questions (consent and health related). Kris who did my piercing took me to the room. Small and private room. Very cute decor and clean. He walked me through the whole thing. Told me about after care , answered my questions. I was super nervous at first but felt so much better. It didnt hurt as I expected,he did it fast but carefully. They offer you after care solution for $15 . I definitely recommend them for piercings.

Came here despite several people warning me not to come. Ended up walking away. Staff was unpleasant and made disrespectful comments towards us thinking we weren’t listening. Then they were talking once again about the disabled community in an unacceptable manner. When confronted about it, the person rolled their eyes and didn’t apologize. Very uncomfortable situation.
I went to Atmosphere Tattoo Gallery while visiting Chicago. The place itself is quite nice however, we waited 50+ minutes for small walk in tattoo. I called ahead of time and was told it would not be too long of a wait. I got a small forearm mandala tattoo which was not done well. I noticed uneven lines, some smaller lines were incomplete. While getting the tattoo done I remember each line bled which is generally not the case for me. Please note, I have multiple other well healed tattoos and I am in the medical field so I know how to take care of my skin. If I lived locally I still wouldnt go back and have it revised because I dont have much faith. Please review the attached pictures and judge for yourself.
Okay this place was GREAT from the first call till I walked out the door.I came here after a friend took his daughter here to get her ear pierced ( also reviewer below) and I live about five mins from here, so I thought I’d check it out. I called to get pricing and the girl who answered the phone was funny and personable right off the bat, which is a great start. I got there and checked right in with the same girl who I spoke with on the phone; process was super fast and she was extremely friendly. Check in was a breeze and I only waited maybe 5 mins before taken back for my piercing. Kris, who did the piercing was very informative, personable and made the entire visit very comfortable. He was extremely knowledgeable about piercings, which made me feel even more comfortable. While setting up, he made sure to explain why he was using the jewelry he was, how the pricing would go and how healing would be expected. He had mentioned he had been doing this for sometime and you could tell because I didn’t feel much when he pierced my tragus at all; HE’S GOOD! I can say this is most likely one of the best experiences I have ever had at a tattoo/piercing shop ( I have 9 tattoos) from start to finish. Process was fast ( maybe there 20 mins from check in to check out) people were extremely friendly, shop was very clean/well kept and they know their stuff there. I will defiantly go back!

The piercer very nice and friendly but didn’t even sanitize my ear before he pierced me. And he just pierced my ear after marking the dots (placement mark) without asking what i think about it/approved
I got my first piercing done here yesterday by Kris (and Cody) and they made it so easy and quick! They really made sure I felt comfortable and are some of the nicest people who are great at what they do! I had an accident that knocked my piercing out today and Kris fixed it in seconds and also made me smile and calm down for the first time today. If you want a piercing: go to Kris!!!

I got my navel pierced here and they totally fudged the placement. Went back twice with concerns and to change out for a longer bar (necessary because they pierced the surface of my stomach instead of the navel)They just told me it needed more time. It rejected and i have an ugly scar now.P.s. talked to another piercer that confirmed the placement was wrong regardless of whether or not that was the reason it rejected. Also the piercers took no time to explain the higher risk of rejection to me.
I can’t describe how in love I am with this studio! All of the artists are incredibly talented and friendly. I went here for my first tattoos, and Hye Sook coached me through the whole process. Atmosphere is clean, professional, and filled to the brim with personality! All of the artists help point you in the right direction, when it comes to the style of tattoos you want or even the types of piercings that’ll look/heal the best on your ears! I’m definitely coming back:)
I came in not knowing what I wanted to get pierced as a walk in, and the front desk was very helpful in giving me advice. I even walked in with a very large keloid on the back of my ear and they were able to remove it for me! Super happy with my experience here overall!! Will be back for more piercings shortly.
I came here a few weeks ago to get my first tattoo. HyeSook was wonderful and super accommodating. She made me feel entirely comfortable about everything, and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I cannot say enough about how positive my experience was, everyone was super nice and professional I will for sure be going back in the future!
My friend and I walked in for Dinosaur tattoos and they were able to take us right away. The place was very clean and welcoming. Danny Murphy did my Dino tattoo, and I ended up coming back to him for a Spooky tattoo. Both of these tattoos have been great experiences. We are finishing up my spooky one soon, and I definitely want to come back to Danny for more!
I’ve been going to Anthony for a little over 5 years now. He originally worked at a shop near my parents house & I refused to let anyone else work on my sleeve, so I make the trip regularly to the Schaumburg location he’s now located at. In this 5 years of being his client, I have grown to trust his artistry & skill to the point of giving him nearly total artistic freedom when it comes to my pieces. I appreciate the easy going personality of him & everyone in the shop. I have since, gone to Kris for work more recently as well & have fortunately made 2 good friends in the process. I love the environment in this shop- that I have and will continue to recommend it to everyone that asks! ☺️

I absolutely adore this shop. And the staff. I use to go to another tattoo shop and wasn’t happy with the experience , lack of education and it was crooked. Kris did a great job at fixing it! Made me feel hella comfortable even while there was an apprentice in the room. Both men made me feel content and it was a painless and easy peircing for once in my life!
The people here are extremely nice, but Ive driven over an hour on multiple occasions for their piercer not to be there for some of the more advanced piercings. Ive called many times beforehand to double check, but no one there seems to ever communicate that he wont be there. Its just a little frustrating that its happened 3 or 4 times now.
Can not say enough good things about my experience here. Very professional, clean, and helpful. I came in with a throbbing, painful, piercing from a different business and they fixed it for me quickly, efficiently, and not to expensive on top of it all! The piercer was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me in detail on what he was doing and what I needed to do! 10/10 place and would recommend to all my friends and family.
I loved the experience I had at this shop! I was tattooed by Lauren and Paul, both of which are incredibly talented tattoo artists. I absolutely love my new tattoo and am so grateful that Lauren and Paul took the time to get my tattoo perfect. The shop was clean and very well run. Also, everyone was so friendly! Ive never had people be so friendly and nice to me at previous shops I had gone to. I cant wait to come back here soon!

When I first walked into Atmosphere tattoo I like the vibe in the place. After waiting a pain staking month for Anthony to start my tattoo, it was so worth the wait, I cannot wait to go back. My friend and I were walk-ins today for some ear piercings and had such a pleasant experience! We were helped right away by Cody who is apprenticing here and he was incredibly helpful in advising us on some things we hadn’t considered (such as not piercing both ears at once due to discomfort sleeping, what would heal fastest & make the most sense to do in what order, etc). He was knowledgeable and very patient with our questions. Kris was the person who actually did the piercing and he was SO SMOOTH. It honestly was the most effortless experience and I am not good with needles or anxiety. Between Kris and Cody, they were both so professional and kind and helped the entire visit go smoothly and quickly.Thank you both so much!

The shop itself is very clean and Ive enjoyed my conversations with other artists there while Anthony tattooed me. Even though I live 45+ minutes away, I wouldnt go anywhere else for tattoos or piercings!

I had Kris pierce my cartilage and triples and he did a great job and explained everything to me along the way, which I really appreciated. All of the workers were friendly and helpful. Inside it was super clean and I was confident that I came to a good place for piercings. I’ve heard so many horror stories about cartilage piercings, but this place was great! 10/10 recommend.

I went to Atmosphere after seeing them recommended several times on social media over the last year or so. They were also one of the only shops that responded to my emails and inquires right away, so they were easy to get a hold of and communicate with.Hye Sook was my artist, and she was on time, friendly, and clean. My tattoos came out great, and their pricing as a shop is extremely reasonable. I will definitely be back for any more work that I want done!

I was in today and the staff here is amazing!! They were a little busy but the front desk girl got to everyone in a timely matter and was very polite!! Very impressed by this shop! Went here a few months ago to get my cartilage and thirds done. To get my thirds done, they removed my second earings and replaced the end of my earrings, for which I had paid $25 (they were made of gold), without my knowledge and replaced them with ends that I replaced earlier to get those gold ends🙃🤌. I found out this months later when I changed my earrings. AND I had to get my cartilage piercing removed because it was ✨crooked✨😌 and created irritation bumps on both sides of my ear. Used everything I could to get rid of them, but nothing worked bc it was crooked🤌. This actually took me by surprise since I read sooo many good reviews and this place was recommended by a close friend.While they did try to do good service, they were a bit worried about too many people waiting and I remember listening to them talking about just doing everything fast to get rid of the line. Maybe if they make appointments (while they could be limiting amount of clients per day), they wouldn’t need to rush with every client and actually make sure evrything goes fine.I paid ~$150 for everything but ended up loosing my gold ends AND basically paid for no cartilage piercing🙄
Dan Nilges started a half sleeve of roses for me. Just incredible workmanship, this guy absolutely knows what hes doing. I havent even gotten to my second session yet, and this tattoo has already changed my life. Not to mention his artistry is impeccably versatile. When you go to get a tattoo, and the result exceeds your expectations, then you know you went to the right place. Let alone the fact he made me comfortable in the chair and allowed me to enjoy my experience. Im just speaking from my experience, but look at their websites portfolio. All their artists are INSANE! Shoutout to atmosphere, will be getting tatted there for life.
Got my nose pierced by Kris and his apprentice Cody. It was quick, easy and a quick pinch later it was done. There joking and laughing made me feel so relaxed and at ease. It such a chill and down to earth place and I cant wait to get another piercing. Thank you again guys.

I got my piercing done at atmosphere by Kris. I was recommended by my friend who got all her piercing done by him and he was honestly awesome. A lot of sanitation and clean place.Friendly and great environment pricing is good as well. If you need a piercing I would recommend Kris he knows a lot about it and explains everything very well.

I’ve gotten two nose piercings at different times here and both guys who did them were really nice, and the girl at the front was nice as well, overall was a great experience and will I definitely go back if I need anything else done

I have been here for piercings by Kris several times and I cant say enough about how great this place is. By far one of the cleanest tattoo shops Ive ever been in, and it is really a beautiful shop. Everyone here is really nice and friendly. Some tattoo shops can be a bit intimidating and sometimes the staff can be rude but thats never the case. They are super chill and make you feel right at home. Kris is a great piercer, he always takes his time and finds the right placement and jewelry so that Im happy with my new piercing. Hes also really funny and makes every experience memorable. I highly recommend this place, theyre the best.

If you need a piercing, dont go ANYWHERE else. Kris is an absolute expert. Ive been here before and my wife just had her septum done and the experience is beyond anything youll get at a random shop. Had a great tattoo done here by Cassandra shout out to her because she was great very fun and good conversation. The atmosphere at this shop (no pun intended) is great its clean and very professional. Everyone there seems really nice and you can tell the artists love what they do. Would definitely come back for another tattoo!

I got 3 micro dermal piercings on my wrist. Kris Hackenson is an excellent piercer, hes very knowledgeable and experienced at his craft. He is also professional and makes you feel very comfortable during the session. The healing process was quick. The staff is great and I definitely recommend.

It is really frustrating when you are trying to set up a tattoo appointment but majority of the appointment runs through another media, Instagram when we cannot even call to set up an appointment then. I messaged not 1 but 3 of the artist but yet a month later and i havent heard back from any of the them. the artist there ( Cassandra faith & Lauren) their work looks amazing but it is super unprofessional that it has been a month and I have yet not received a response. I understand if your busy but it is a job for you to get back to your clients. How are we going to get anything done if none of them does not respond let alone open the messages.
I got my industrial piercing does around 2 months ago and it was such an amazing experience. Kris was so nice and made the whole experience memorable. The place is very nice, clean and all the people there are incredibly welcoming to walk ins. Honestly, can’t wait to get more piercings done there!
I had a beautiful piece done by Cassandra. She had a super light hand and is highly talented! Cassandra was super sweet and took her time on my tattoo to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. I will be back there for future tattoos and I 10/10 recommend this place. It’s full of amazing talented artists! Oh and the front desk Becca was very helpful at the check in process. Atmosphere Tattoo is hands down the best in the area.
Kris is SO AMAZING I just got my belly re pierced over my scars tissue I would have to say he know what he was doing and he explained to me the whole process.. and also told the right way to keep it clean and he also recommended a cleaning solution!! The girl in the front she’s so nice! While I was waiting we talk a little bit.
Jason was the absolute bomb. After a super short notice he was able to take what i gave him and turn it into art. I was super pleased with the work he offered me and from time we started till we finished we talked n laughed and before i knew it about two and a half hours blew by and felt like i was there for twenty mins. He made sure that i was happy from the moment i walked in to the second i left. The price to quality of work was definitely worth it. Been about a day and very minimal to no pain. To be honest id return for jasons work again and i plaThanks again Jason for giving me a great experience and nothing short of beautiful work.

I got my very first dermal at Atmosphere Tattoo with Kris! He was super professional during my consultation and helped me determine the most aesthetically pleasing spot. For the actual piercing procedure he first explained everything, which really calmed my nerves! As for the pain, I felt literally none I was absolutely shocked :) I plan on making the 2 hour drive to see him for all my future piercings. Thanks again dude !

I highly recommend this place. Dan did our tattoos and they look amazing!!! Its was my moms first at 71 and she couldnt believe how much it didnt hurt!! Before and after lol. Dan is an amazing artist, the shop is clean, sterile and very friendly. I will be going back to have some of my older tattoos touched up very soon. Five stars is not enough!!!
I was asking for a cert. Of Sterility( verifying they used clean and sterile equipment as required)for plasma donation purposes from them. And I called, the response was quick; but after asking for the receipt, the receptionist left me on hold and walked away, leaving the phone off the hook not allowing me to call back.Tried calling back 3 separate times with nothing but dial tone at the end.Service from them otherwise is amazing, their line work is exceptional, little to no bleeding or scarring, and everything looked clean and was well done.May I suggest allowing for multiple phones to be on a circuit, so if a call is unable to be made through one phone, it redirects it to the next available one?It may help with situations like mine where a person went to go look for someone or something and forgets to put the phone back.
I strongly recommend this shop, especially Cassandra who gave my step daughter an amazing tattoo. Shop is modern, and clean, the young girl at the counter was so friendly and helpful- she walked us thru the check in procedure ,I spoke with the piercer Chris about setting up a appt for My wife , he was awesome. As well. Ok so those are the pros, onto the cons the shop manager is horrible- Im actually shocked that she is allowed to RUN this shop. Shes rude and gave us nothing but attitude because we were 10 min late. I actually wanted to get a tattoo by any artist that was available, but decided against it. Because of her. With out her and her attitude I would give this shop 5 stars. Its a shame because RUDE people suck.
I was really looking forward to getting my first tattoo with my best friend! We searched all over the place and heard that atmosphere was a good place so we checked out there website, it stated “feel free to ask us any questions” and when we did they just said come in ( we live an hour away by the way ). We decided to go on and was told to wait for an artist named Faith, they ( they as in the artist ) where just walking around the store and had us waiting for almost an hour for the consult. When Faith finally realized we where waiting on them, they came up to us and told us they can do our tattoo and that’s it no questions or design ideas or anything just an “ok talk to the front to make an appointment”. We proceeded to do it and emailed Faith our idea then confined to explained to them that I will be moving out of state so if they can just email me the tattoo sketch I would appreciate it, they said no and I followed with a “it would help me out a lot” and they never responded. I just left that as that and the Morning of my tattoo day AtmosphereTattoo called me and asked if I can come in an hour later but I was already on my way. “ I said it was fine” and just drove around a little then I got another call saying that Faiths car broke down and they can’t do it today but In a week. I move in 1 day. It was all super annoying. They made me still come in to get my deposit, did not offer another artist and couldn’t do anything for us. HUGE WAIST OF TIME, LACK OF COMMUNICATION, and overall made a first tattoo experience terrible! Maybe other artist here will be better but Faith was just terrible... and I will be moving states tomorrow without a matching tattoo with my friend which sucks even more... damn this sucks
I cannot day enough good words about Atmosphere and their entire staff. I took my 8 year daughter to get her ears pierced and it was such a great experience. She was a little afraid but their piercer, Kris did an amazing job at keeping her calm and getting it done quick. The second we left their place she said she didn’t even feel it anymore. As a tattooed guy and small business owner myself, I know I have found my next ink spot.

Sean Kim is the best. He is so kind and warm hearted. Truly was awesome to work with. He went out of his way to speak Korean to my mom which made her even more comfortable with getting her first tattoo. I highly recommend him. The guy (his name was Kris) pierced my friend’s septum and I guess something broke with the needle and he started cussing and yelling. He kept poking at her nose 3 to 4 times to “refix” the piercing. It was painful to watch. After he put the septum in, he kicked the cabinet right behind him and cussed his way out of the store. So unprofessional and I wouldn’t even suggest coming to get a piercing here.
We have been here many times for piercings. Kris is awesome and takes the time to make sure you understand all stages of the healing process and aftercare. It is our go to place for piercings and piercing questions. They have a nice tattoo setup and the place is very clean with comfy couches to sit on if you have to wait.

Disliking and never coming to visit solely based on the fact your female tattoo artist had FOUR months to help with a important tattoo of my friends and decided to wait last minute and not even deliver what she wanted& then refuses to give her what she DID want. Unprofessional, and apparently very in-interested in having new returning customers. 👎👎

Went in for piercings. Kris answered all of my questions without making me feel like I was wasting his time, and did a great job with the piercing. Made me feel comfortable and explained everything. Obviously passionate about his work and very friendly. I also got a chance to chat with Cassandra, one of the tattoo artists, and she was really friendly. Quality of materials is high. They actually had the jewelry I was looking for in stock, which none of the other shops I called did. Place was very clean and modern.Another standout thing I noticed was the tattoo books actually showcased some beautiful art. The handful of other shops I had been to had strangely mediocre art in their books...and these shops have been around for a long time. Not sure how that is. To be fair, I am completely new to the tattoo world so you can safely disregard my opinion here. Anyway, the art I saw here? Legit AF. They clearly nabbed some great artists.This shop has only been open for a month, but I hope they do well. The people, the space, and the work all seem to be very high quality.Oh! And the cost for my piercings? Like 30-40 less than the other shops I talked to....sweet!

So after going in this Thursday afternoon around 1ish, I brought a picture of the tattoo I wanted … its was nothing fancy, not a big piece, not a lot of color. I was asked to look at the artists books to get a feel of one that I might like over the another … I wasnt to picky about who would execute the tattoo (all the artist looked like there past works were reputable) it was more working around scheduling with my kids. So the young lady at the front desk didnt really know how to check availability of the artist, she had to ask another co-work (who was there on her day off getting a tattoo for help). She told me maybe Mike could do some time the next day, she took my name, number and said someone would call me later. I feel like I was brushed off. Friday came I never heard back about availability so I called them back shortly after 12. Again I was told they were wrapping up other pieces and they would call me back later in the day… AGAIN I feel like I got the brush -off!!! I get there are artist that dont do certain pieces or parts of someone body …. So now its hitting Saturday evening and I still havent heard back from anyone at Atmosphere Tattoo Gallery. If they didnt want too the tattoo I wanted I wished they would have been upfront about it in the first place. I would have started looking else where to get it done. Communication is the key to any good reputable business, they need to work on theirs a lot to make people feel welcome and that their business is wanted!!!
Went in for my very first tattoo with Sean. This place is clean, professional, and they were all friendly and helpful! Definitely a great place to go if youre nervous about your first tattoo (like me). High fives all around!
A few good artists at this shop. Choose wisely...don’t get yourself stuck in Chris Toms chair, he’ll trick you into doing a elementary level tattoo that will look muddy & too dark to see with the thick line work. Don’t be fooled looks good at first & like trash later. Seen it a million times first hand, he work in my shop & ive received one to many return for redo or touch ups. Don’t waste your money on a mediocre tattoo get in the chair with one of the better tattoo artists there. Or click my name and you can come see me.

Kris was honestly amazing. Some technical problems came up getting a septum piercing but he took care of me and some! He was so apologetic and did my tragus for all of the trouble! Will definitely be going back to actually be able to have my septum. Would highly recommend!!!!!!!

Called to make an appointment for my kids piercing and was told it was not necessary that walk-in are welcome. At no point was I told that I needed a birth certificate for each child. I drive 35 minutes to Atmosphere and as I walk in they take each of our temperature and has us wait briefly. This is when they said we needed a birth certificate for my kids ages 14 and 16, I was I was never told of this and I drove 35 minutes. They said it’s there recently change policy. I asked as of when they said 1st it was last week but I told them that I try to make appointment on Monday take was not mentioned she then said it was change on Tuesday (how convenient) I even search on their website and found nothing along with no signage on the door requiring birth certificate. I try to call the manager and was told owner Jeff was not there but if he was he would not honor parents with no birth certificate. Taking my business elsewhere where customers are not profiled by the color of their skin.
Chris Toms is amazing!!! Love his style, technique and almost painless every session. His eye for detail awesome personality always has me coming back... would never go to anyone else! Love the shop super comfy couch and Netflix and water while you wait.

Amazing tattoo shop. The inside is beautiful and clean which is not always the case with a tattoo shop. The artists there are super cool and all very talented from looking at their portfolios. I’ve seen Paul and Faith a decent amount of times and they never disappoint. Highly recommend!
Kris did my piercing and was nice during the initial piercing. Then the receptionists tried to guilt me into tipping. I went back to get it changed to the smaller post which he recommended and he got all frustrated . I waited the week like he told me to. He started swearing and getting frustrated that it wouldnt fit it on right. Then he finally got it on right, but before that he told me I was ruining his day. I didnt like the stud he put in that time, so I went and bought my own stud for the lip. I called and asked if he would change it , he said he would but then didnt when I went in . His assistant told me that Kris wouldnt do it and that he was being nice because Kris would be more blunt about it.Had to go to another tattoo piercing shop in order to get it changed . Overall a really bad uncomfortable experience .

Cassandra did my tattoo last night and I am in love with it! She was so nice too, everyone is super professional, the whole shop is spotless, and the quality of the work exceeded my expectations, and they were already pretty lofty expectations! I love this place! Kris Hackenson is the best piercer! I came in for dermals under my collar bones and Kris was very laid back, professional, talked me through the process making sure I understood everything he was doing, AND gave me an AMAZING price! Out of every place I called, this place has the best deals, the best jewelry and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get high quality piercings done. Ill be back in a couple weeks to get 2 more dermals. So excited!

First and foremost, I think it is important to note that I am EXTREMELY picky and particular. I was amazed when Chris (Toms) got my vision for my tattoos right on the first try! He listened to what I wanted, reviewed the images I sent him as examples, and executed it perfectly. That is saying a lot coming from me. Needless to say, I highly recommend him for your next tattoo.

I have had a tattoo here previously and most recently an industrial piercing. This is a clean shop with a great vibe and even better artists. If you are even remotely in the area looking for a tattoo or piercing, this is the place to go.
This place is extremely shady with their pricing. My friend and I were going to get tattoos together and the receptionist told him over the phone that to make an appointment, we would need to pay a $50 deposit, but since we were using the same tattoo artist, we would only need to pay one deposit. When we came in for our appointment, I was not satisfied with the tattoo artists sketch -- it was very basic and poor quality, so I decided not to get a tattoo, but my friend did. However, when we were leaving, the receptionist changed her story and said because I didnt get a tattoo they were still going to charge me $50 plus an additional $3.00 for a credit card transaction fee. I would never go there again.
Cicero did simple, but clean, matching tattoos for me and my son. Ill be going back to him for more soon! Great staff. They are also a super clean shop with all the COVID precautions in place.

I got my tattoo done by Cassandra. Not only did she ease my anxiety before the tattoo, she was super nice while in contact over email before even seeing me. Everyone there is funny, kind, and easy to talk to. I would 100% go again!

I’ve been going to Anthony for a little over 5 years now. He originally worked at a shop near my parents house & I refused to let anyone else work on my sleeve, so I make the trip regularly to the Schaumburg location he’s now located at. In this 5 years of being his client, I have grown to trust his artistry & skill to the point of giving him nearly total artistic freedom when it comes to my pieces. I appreciate the easy going personality of him & everyone in the shop. I have since, gone to Kris for work more recently as well & have fortunately made 2 good friends in the process. I love the environment in this shop- that I have and will continue to recommend it to everyone that asks! ☺️
Got my septum done by Kris today. Was nervous in the beginning of course, but Kris just made it easy-breezy. Was impressed that there was no pain at all, just some pressure and a couple of tears. Thanks, Kris!

2022-03-03My daughter and I went to get our noses pierced together and we loved this place. I called ahead with a few questions and the staff on the phone were very friendly and knowledgeable and didn’t make me feel like any of my questions were dumb or I was bothering them. Then when we got to the shop they were pretty busy, but the staff at the desk was very friendly and honest about the wait time. They checked us in and asked me if I had any questions before telling me we could wait over on the couch. While waiting I even was able to talk to an artist there about some tattoos I want done in the future and she was so nice and I didn’t feel like she was rushing talking to me even though I wasn’t getting any work that day. When it was my daughter’s and my turn Kris’ apprentice came and brought us back. They were both very nice and reassuring, asking us if we had any questions and telling us the piercing wouldn’t be that painful and it’s more psychological anticipation really. (Which was totally true on a side note.) Everything was really clean and we watched them open all new tools for both of us. The actual piercing part was over so quickly I barely felt it. Afterwords, Kris made sure we had his contact information in case we had any more questions or issues after we left and he went over the after care instructions with us. He even walked us to the desk and made sure we had a can of the saline spray to clean our piercings with. I have been to other tattoo/piercing shops in the area and I would 100% recommend this place to everyone I know. Everyone is friendly and the energy in the shop feels very welcoming and chill. It was a great experience I got to have with my daughter thanks to the staff here. I will be a returning customer for sure!

2022-04-17I absolutely loved everything. All my questions and concerns where answered. I waited about an hour, it wasn’t so bad in fact it went by very fast. I had A wonderful experience and would gladly come again. Very clean and comfortable. Big thank you to piercing artist Kris. He explained and walked through everything. Love the vibe he Carried. Can’t wait to stop in again.

2022-02-12Cody the piercer was awesome. We went in to get a couple different piercings on 2 people, he explained the whole process, was very informative and took his time with everything from placement, explaining aftercare and what to expect from our piercings. He made us feel comfortable and was very polite. I will definitely return for any piercing needs and would recommend him to anyone!

2022-06-14Came here seeking help after a disappointing experience with a recent nose piercing done elsewhere. I was distraught with how my piercing was healing, thought it might be infected, and my original piercer did not even look at my problem when I returned for help.Kris didnt hesitate to help me and address the issues I was having even though I didnt get pierced there. My stud was gently switched out for a more appropriate and higher quality piece. He saved my piercing and put my mind at ease, and was easy to talk to and ask questions. Im so humbled by the kindness I was shown and thankful!Wish I had gone here to get pierced instead, and highly recommend this place. If I need anything else, I would definitely go back.

2022-07-03I went for the first time (I got my other piercings somewhere else) and Kris was AMAZING! He not only was extremely knowledgeable, but made me feel SO comfortable! He was funny, supportive, and 110% an expert! If you want ANY piercing please go see Kris he was phenomenal!

2022-05-09I have yet to get tattoos here but my boyfriend and I come here often for piercings and this is by far my favorite place. Kris and Cody are some really cool people, they make the environment comforting and welcoming and they’re very professional. I highly recommend this place to anyone interested in piercings

2022-03-17I received my 1st ever tattoo here this last Fall, and Cassandra did a very excellent job! She is extremely nice and a pro at what she does. She even offered for me to come back later for her to check-up on the tattoo & lightly touch it up (as a complimentary deal)! I give Cassandra my highest recommendations and I most certainly will return if I decide to do another!

2021-12-29I dont write reviews often-almost never. but this place is far too amazing to not write a review for. for starters, let me just say the staff here is SO beyond friendly?? from the receptionists, the awesome piercers, and even though ive only interacted with/ seen some of the tattoo artists, they are also beyond incredible. everyone here has such a great vibe, and the amount of care, compassion, and effort that is put forth with clients is very recognizable-and admirable. I have been to a handful of piercing and tattoo places, and atmosphere just about takes the cake in my book. the interior of this place not only creates a very comfortable environment, but its also super clean, which is a huge thing for me that i look into when it comes to piercing/tattoo shops. when I had my piercings done here, it was such an enjoyable experience. I recently just booked my tattoo appointment with hyesook whos inexplicably talented and so kind, and its needless to say I am so incredibly excited :)) forever will recommend this place!! you guys are the best.

2021-11-18I have gotten a total of 5 piercings from both piercers, Cody and Kris. Each time they have BOTH been friendly, kind, and communicate very well to make sure you are comfortable going through the process. I did not feel pressured to do anything I was on the fence about and they are both very knowledgeable about aftercare and placement. Placement has been perfect.I had my rook done by Kris and the jewelry had a defective ball (just kept falling off is all). I went in, and Cody was more than willing to exchange my jewelry free of charge and tighten it. It has been a little under a year and the ball has not budged one bit.Kris has done my forward helix and one of my conchs and they both doing very well. He creates a comfortable environment that eases out all bad vibes.If you need a piercer or are looking for one, I highly HIGHLY recommend this shop. You pay for the knowledge and quality. This is the ONLY shop I go to for piercings. :)
