My therapist was Katie. I was being rehabbed for vertigo. Katie was stellar and I feel fantastic. The entire staff is helpful, knowledgeable and respectful. The facility is clean, light and well equipped. Even during Covid, I felt well protected. They worked with me on appointments and I always felt like they were concerned for my convenience and were accommodating when the polar vortex and snow made travelling difficult. My daughter was at this facility for leg rehab last year and also worked with Katie and was delighted when I told her I was working with Katie also. My daughter swears by this place and now so do I!
I came here for PT with Katie 2x/week from July through December 2020. She helped me address a muscle imbalance in my hips that was affecting my quality of life - by the time I was discharged, my symptoms were completely resolved. I also really enjoyed my time at this office - Katie is very nice and easy to talk to. Shout out to Angie who was my favorite PT assistant! The clinic itself is a pleasant place to be. A majority of the staff speaks Spanish. All of the equipment is cleaned after it is used which I really appreciated. COVID protocols are good, although there were occasions where I felt like there were a few too many patients present to keep good social distance. I would recommend that the clinic management enforce a rule where you cant have two patients on beds next to each other, or reduce the number of total patients that they allow during peak hours. All of this being said, there were also times where I was the only patient there. I would recommend asking the front desk to schedule you for an off-peak time if this is a concern for you.Since leaving PT Ive been able to maintain my progress, thanks to a home program. If I have any issues in the future I would definitely return to this Athletico location.
I want to express my gratitude to Katie Kuebel for helping me recover so quickly from Vertigo. After two therapy sessions I was back to normal. It is difficult for me to express how thankful I am for her professional care and support that I received during this process. My recovery wouldnt have been possible without her hard work and dedication, Katie even called me after the second therapy session to make sure I was fine, she was very kind and understanding.Katie is simply the best!Your clients at Athletico are very lucky to have Katie as their Physical Therapist.
My physical therapy experience at Athletico was fantastic. Their COVID-19 procedures and precautions were very thorough. The reception staff was always lovely and always quick to clean and sanitize equipment after every use. My therapist Matthew was awesome and joy to work with. He was very friendly, welcoming and motivating. I was very self conscious about about my physical state and progress and he was always reassuring and non-judgemental. really hope I dont break any more bones, but if I do, this is where Ill be doing my physical therapy! 10 out of 10 would recommend!
Athletico Logan Square is the best! I’ve been going to this clinic since March due to an ACL injury, and Matt was my main physical therapist - he was very very knowledgeable, helpful, and caring. I also had experience working with other therapists in the clinic: Joe, Jessica and Kevin - all of them were awesome. They always patiently listened to my issues, and provided me with a very thorough and tailored treatment and at-home program. Highly recommend it!
I saw Joseph Derkits at this facility and was absolutely thrilled with my experience. I had chronic neck pain for over a year, and went in to see Joe after several attempts to help the issue via recommended at-home routines by doctors and consulting with 2 other physical therapists. I was starting to lose hope that physical therapy would help me, but I saw improvement almost immediately after seeing Joe. He was very attuned and attentive to anything that I brought to his attention, and was constantly updating the workouts mid-session to meet me at exactly where I was each day and target the appropriate muscles. As I progressed and the need for Physical Therapy started to wind down, he put together a great packet of workouts and suggested stretches to reference as I continue the at-home program. I found Joe to be very knowledgeable, personable, and perceptive, and would very much recommend.
I went to this Athletico from August through November 21 for some pretty debilitating lower-back pain. There is honestly not a single person I worked with there who was not friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. I mostly worked with Matt, who provided the bulk of my exercises, stretches, and worked on my lower back. I also worked with Joe and Chiyeko, and both of them were amazing as well. This place is fantastic, if you have an injury. They are great at working to find a schedule that accommodates you, and did a great job of dealing with insurance, which can be a pain. I would highly recommend them for physical therapy.
I worked with Joe Derkits on some shoulder/neck issues that were flaring up/bothering me every single day. I couldnt tell why I was having these issues and I was also very apprehensive about PT.Joe provided exercises and advice that helped me improve my mobility, posture, and strength in a short amount of time. He constantly asked for feedback and used it to further customize my treatment. He was easy to work with and seemed to truly care about my recovery, providing me with outside resources so I can work on other issues that have been bothering me. Thanks to Joe, I have a plan to move forward with and a more positive outlook on my situation. I also had a great experience working with Chiyeko who is super patient and kind. The therapists here are good at checking in and asking for consent as they work on you (something I was extremely anxious abt)The COVID-19 protocols in this facility were great. Rebecca, the office manager, went above and beyond to help me figure out very confusing insurance questions. I reallly appreciate how nice everyone is at this facility. If you are feeling anxious about going to PT and live in the area- try this location- you wont regret it.
This Athletico location is great! The Physical Therapist Matt was super helpful and thorough on getting me healed from my injury. They were all courteous and very efficient at making appointments. They took the COVID precautions seriously which was also a bonus. I definitely recommend this location and Matt for their service. The space at this location is maybe a bit smaller than most places I have been to but I never found it to feel crowded. They did a great job of scheduling the different clients so as to lesson the amount of people there at one time.
Ive done two stints of physical therapy at Athletico. The first was in 2017 at the Bucktown location for a shoulder injury, and the second was in 2020 at the Logan Square location for a lower back injury.I was a bit nervous to attend physical therapy during the pandemic, but I was put at ease during my first appointment. Everyone is required to wear a mask, your temperature is checked at the beginning of every session, and youre required to wash your hands before starting therapy. The tables are nicely spaced apart and the facility is very clean!Matt was my physical therapist helping me with my lower back injury. He was extremely professional and took the time to understand my issue and helped me set appropriate goals for my recovery. I always felt like I was in good hands!Overall, I felt really taken care of at Athletico and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of physical therapy!
I can’t recommend Athletico in Logan Square highly enough. I recently suffered a painful ankle injury that knocked me out of a marathon I’d been planning for months. Athletico came to my rescue, and tailored a therapy/home exercise regimen for my specific needs to get me back running ASAP. They are 100% patient focused, and provide excellent care customer service. The location is clean and well equipped to offer a wide variety of exercise machines and equipment to fit your personal treatment plan. Special thanks to Kevin for all of his expertise and hard work. I won’t hesitate to head right back in the future with any physical ailments!
I had a great experience here doing PT for a shoulder injury. I worked with Kevin, who is excellent. He was very patient and encouraging as I struggled to improve my body mechanics and form. He is very knowledgable, professional, and kind. I appreciated how flexible he was with scheduling and also that he created a thorough home plan for me to keep working on my strength. All the staff is helpful and friendly, which made the whole experience very easy. The facility is clean and everyone is committed to COVID precautions.I am really happy with the improvement in my condition and am hopeful that I wont need to return - but if I do need additional PT, I wound definitely come back here!
I had some lingering issues related to a knee fracture from five years ago. I was a walk-in, no doctors referral required. P.T. Kevin Plattner pinpointed my problems with muscle weakness, scar tissue, nerve pain, and misalignment. I was regularly exercising, but I really needed targeted physical therapy. I was surprised how much I improved in only a few months. My pain lessened and my strength increased. I cant recommend Kevin enough. If youre on the fence, dont wait.
I injured my back solo-lifting and the pain/limited mobility was not resolving itself after a couple months of rest/light exercise alternatives. I finally decided to try PT before actually visiting any kind of doctor/back specialist. Best decision. I tried a couple free trial sessions with different PTs (like ATI), but my first session with Matthew Klayman was more than just an evaluation. There was observation, massage, exercise and I felt more confident in the movements I should be doing to get better. In total I had about 8 sessions with Matt where degree of difficulty increased while he instructed me on the proper form/techniques for the exercises and day-to-day activities I was going through to protect and strengthen my back as well as the muscle groups around it. The weakness and instability in my back went away pretty quickly and I was able to resume a normal workout schedule. Mentally I went from a place where I wasnt sure if I would lift again or bend down without pain, to working out again and feeling more knowledgeable about my body. Will definitely go back if I have any other physical issues and highly recommend Matt.
I was there over about 4 months for recovery from a car accident. I primarily worked with Katie and Kevin, who are both amazing at their work. The space is set up to allow for social distancing, and everyone there is diligent about sanitizing equipment and surfaces. At my final appointment, Kevin sat down with me and helped me put together a home maintenance program, which I really appreciated. Highly recommended.
I was treated here over the course of about 3 months for two different injuries and had an excellent experience. The location was convenient to get to, theres a parking lot, and the appointment options were very easy to work with my schedule. I received in-person treatment only, although they are offering tele-health options, but I always felt safe with the extra precautions being taken to keep things clean and sanitized.I worked with Kevin and was so impressed by and grateful for his knowledge, patience, and ability to explain what was happening with the different muscles in my body in a way I could understand. His attention to detail and how my body worked together (or was not working together properly) as a whole not only taught me about proper body mechanics, but I really believe was also a key factor in helping me to experience the improvement and reduction in long-term pain that I did. I feel very happy with the level of care I received, and, maybe even more importantly, I now have the tools that I need to keep taking care of myself and improving even after the formal sessions have ended.Would definitely recommend this location.
I needed therapy for a left ring finger injury I got while biking. The facility was spaced out and clean as they took COVID guidelines very seriously.Megan, my occupational therapist, was professional, personable and thorough. She showed me various exercises, explained them and their purpose in detail, and answered all of my questions along the way. She was very flexible and accommodated my schedule as well. When I needed a second opinion from a doctor, she referred me to one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the United States. I would highly recommend her and the Logan Square Athletico!
I consider myself very fortunate to have found one of the best physical therapists Ive ever used 2 blocks from where I live. After having rotator cuff surgery at the end of August, I began PT with Katie at Atletico when my surgeon gave the go-ahead. Ive actually enjoyed working with Katie and going to this location. Everyone who works here is very friendly, competent and follows serious Covid-19 protocols to keep me feeling safe.Katie has designed a program to meet my surgeons specifications that has given me steady progress in regaining the use of my shoulder and has reported my progress to my surgeon. Ive been diligent about doing the exercises shes prescribed at home, too. Athletico makes this easy with videos you can access from home if you have questions about anything.Katie has been an absolute pleasure to work with and Ive enjoyed both regaining my strength and getting to know her. I highly recommend both the Logan Square Athletico and Katie.
I’ve used this Athletico location at least twice, seeing both Katie and Matt. They have magic hands! I came this time because my knee hurt so much I could barely walk. With the exercises, massages and high quality care they gave me, I’m able to walk, kneel, and climb stairs. Plus, they are all nice people!
Covid made it difficult to decide how to address a sprained ankle. Luckily, Atheltico offered remote care. Unsure of they type of care that could be offered via a computer screen, I questioned what kind of care I would receive. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I received excellent care. My PT, Kevin, provided great resources before, during and after my scheduled appointments. Athletico will accommodate your needs, answer your questions and map out a recovery plan. I would suggest in-person or video appointments if you need physical therapy with this Athletico location!
I spent two months working with Megan Sundberg after a TFCC tear, half virtually and half in person. Id highly recommend Megan to anyone! She is so knowledgeable and put my mind at ease through her expertise and encouragement. She was open in her communication and urged me not to take too much on as I healed, but to listen to my body--which is so important to hear when youre impatient to get back to normal. Even though we were virtual into June, she was creative in her approach to keep me engaged and informed me of the purpose and benefit of each stretch, massage and exercise. The only reason I removed one star is because the hand therapist space often got a bit crowded with overlapping patients so there were occasional lags in attention. Overall, it was a terrific experience. Ive never felt stronger! Thank you, Megan!
I worked with Kevin over the past few months, after injuring my shoulder. Generally he would spend around 30 minutes working with me, and then one of the assistants would help me while I did the exercises he had lined up. This is a helpful and caring group of people; I never dreaded going in for an appointment, even going 3 times a week. Regular assessments ensure youre making progress and now that Im done, I have regular exercises I can do to keep my shoulders strong. I will definitely reach out to Kevin and the team at Logan Square if / when I hurt myself again!
Over the past 20 years, I’ve been in and out of physical therapy to rehab multiple sports injuries and the chronic issues that come with it. For the past year and a half, I’ve been working with Jessica Dimmer and have had THE BEST experience I’ve ever had in PT!I started working with Jess after I had tenex done on one of my hips. Since then, she has also treated my knee and back. Throughout the course of my treatment, Jess has gone above and beyond to help me get to the root of my problems and back to the things I love to do – golfing and working out. From orthopedist referrals/visits to strategic home exercise programs to fitting me in to be dry needled by Katie and Khush (who are also the best!), she exhausted all options to find me solutions. Not only is Jess extremely knowledgeable and a great listener; she also has a great sense of humor and makes every visit enjoyable. I didnt think it was possible, but I can honestly say Im finally at a place where I feel great most days and my symptoms are manageable. I would highly recommend working with Jess and the Logan Square Athletico Physical Therapy Team!
This facility was clean, accommodating and helped me grow my overall strength. After my injury and surgery I grew a great relationship with Kevin and he provided me with a treatment plan to work on ongoing goal progression in strength and balance. I would recommend this facility to others!
Katie has so much experience and knowledge of my issue that I felt very positive she would help me. I was right!! She took me thoughtfully through a lot of exercises and over time it helped to alleviate much of my problem. She gave me my homework after each session. I highly recommend Katie and know you will receive quality care.
I am a recreational runner who was diagnosed with Achilles Tendonitis in February. After not being able to run and struggling to walk normally, I went to Athletico. Matt saw me a few times a week for the next two months and I was back up and running by the end of my time there. Thanks to them, I complete the Chicago Marathon the same year. Thanks for all the help!
I spent approximately 2 months at the Logan Square location due to shin splints. Katie and Olivia were great!! Within a month I could already notice the difference. I spent most of my time with Katie. She was patient and attentive during each session. She was also flexible with my schedule. The location is clean with friendly staff. I highly recommend Athletico! Im back to my old self!
I worked directly with Kevin, who is great at what he does, very friendly, and skilled at communicating whats happening. After diagnostics he helped me understand my injury as well as how we would work on it, including manipulation and exercises, with stretching to do at home. The therapy worked, and based on his advice Im very happy to be slowly starting to run again.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Khushbu made sure to give me great treatment. Very compassionate, attentive, and knowledgeable. She provided me with home exercises and helped explain the body mechanics behind why I was having some pain and why the exercises helped. I have definitely told others about my great experience there and if I ever need PT again, I will definitely be going back there.
My physical therapist is incredible! From the massages to the workouts they are always there to help and guide me! Im halfway through a very long recovery and without PT I would not have the mobility that I once had.So why give Athletico 1 star? Well, despite being cleared through my insurance for 20+ visits for post-surgery PT, I need to be reevaluated every 6 visits by Athletico and their insurance. While I wait for their insurance (Optum), I cant schedule appointments. What does that mean? It means after every 6 visits I have a week or more where I am incapable of having any physical therapy while I wait for Optum to allow me to seek treatment. My recommendation is to try a different company altogether despite the amazing staff and clinic because your healthcare is important and you shouldnt be taking extended breaks between physical therapy.
(Writing in February 2019)I spent the better part of the past 12 months going to Athletico Logan Square for physical therapy -- first for an ankle injury, then more recently for a still-mysterious case of chronic knee pain. My ankle injury is totally recovered, and while the knee pain still bothers me currently, I believe that the physical therapy work I did at Athletico was the best thing I could have done for it. It has led to the only significant long-term improvements Ive seen so far.The staff at Athletico were outstanding at all times, in every way. Over the past year, I worked with at least 4 different PTs there, and multiple aides and front desk staff. Every single staff member was always welcoming, attentive and highly professional. Moreover, they went above and beyond in trying to get me the best treatment, in numerous ways. All the PTs I saw there were very experienced and knowledgeable, helping me to continually brainstorm and evaluate further options, both within and beyond PT. They would even regularly discuss my case with each other during off times -- filling me in on their thoughts later. So I benefited from the combined wisdom of a whole team of kinesiology experts, for which I didnt pay a single penny extra. They were very flexible with scheduling. Several times I had to see different PTs from my primary one, because of temporary staffing shifts or because of my own work schedule, but they accommodated my request to keep it as consistent as possible. They always patiently worked through my scheduling options.I have to mention in particular Khushbu Shah, who was my primary PT for the past 6 months. I could never have expected the level of service and attention she devoted to my case. She even pro-actively asked me and volunteered to be present at my follow-up doctor appointments -- something I would have never guessed was even a possibility, but which was extremely helpful. That said, again, all of the PTs I worked with there were magnificent, and the aides all friendly, helpful and professional. I cant say enough good things about this facility.
Athletico PT Logan Square helped me recover full range of motion and strength from distinct hip AND broken shoulder/rotator cuff surgeries. They are professional, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and most importantly, effective. Why? They listen and act accordingly, communicate proactively with surgeon PAs, streamline the insurance approval process, are conveniently located with flexible availability and they cared about helping me achieve maximum positive expected outcomes. I wont hesitate to return again when/if the other hip needs surgery and I recommend them highly for any relevant post-op surgical rehabilitation.
After months of suffering from and trying to ignore frozen shoulder, I started physical therapy here on the recommendation of my dr. I was nervous because of covid, but they have good measures in place to keep people safe. Within a relatively short period of time I regained 90% of my range of motion. Thanks to Matthew who is awesome and all the staff!
I am still going through treatment but am having such positive results that I wanted to be sure to give 5 stars! The more you put in, the more they will give. Highly knowledgable, excellent on-the-spot alterations to achieve desired impact (ask questions about what you should be feeling), clean space, friendly and not intimidating whatsoever. No time wasted here. Ive been in and out of PT for Rheumatoid Arthritis (hips and knees) since 1996 and can say youre in good hands here.
I injured my left wrist. After 10 weeks, I was not making much progress on my own. I started seeing Megan a few times. She gave me good direction with a wrist brace and a simple exercise routine and I started to feel better and better each visit. I should have done it sooner, but better late than never.:)
If you’re reluctant to try PT, this review is for you. If you have chronic pain, as I do, you need to check this out. I did not want to “bother” until my doctor practically forced me. Not only is the therapy helpful, the game changer for me was the Dry Needling. Look it up, it doesn’t hurt (not much, seriously) and it makes a tremendous difference for muscle tension. I never realized before how much muscle tension plays a role in my neck pain. And believe me, I’ve tried it all, including surgery and PT after my surgery. I cannot say strongly enough the RELIEF I’ve gotten through this process! Don’t suffer! I know this sounds like a commercial but I’ve been a patient there for a while. Also, if you don’t have insurance, they offer dry needling without a doctor referral. Not every therapist is certified for dry needling so if you want that, make sure you indicate that when you make an appointment.
OK. REAL TALK. No words can describe how awesome this location is. From the clean facility to the super friendly and caring staff, this place is amazing. Legit came in slowly and in pain but after a few (twice a week) visits I left out pain free and dancing. Seriously though, Khushbu Shah is my hero. Not only did she make me feel comfortable and welcomed, she was also very professional and patient.Educating me on how to properly exercise and stretch to prevent future injury and ultimately healing the pains that I was suffering from makes me wish I can give a billion stars. With a staff that treats you with excellent care, a clean environment, and the ability to work around your schedule, how can you NOT want to check out the Logan square location?! Hands down, They are the best. I would highly recommend them!
My first impression is that the front staff is robotic and unappreciative of your time/money/experience (or accident) — they were rude to me as well as a hispanic spanish-speaking only older lady in her 60s-70s. They only have 3 chairs to sit all crammed in a corner making it uncomfortable for people to sit down and fill out paperwork. For me, there were no chairs, and I had just come here after an accident. The PT who I worked with initially could not care less about me personally, my long term goals or problems I need care for. I did not care for her arrogant and cold attitude. I asked her what her thoughts were on acupuncture for my type of pain as well and she just automatically put dry needling on my regular schedule when I was checking out. I dont even know what that is, wasnt given a real explanation. Did not like that.Overall, the PTs bad attitude and poor bedside manner was the problem and was about to cause me a lot more pain, so I did not come back.
I picked this location at random because I live nearby. Boy did I luck out! I had a total left hip replacement and got assigned to Khushbu Shah. After my initial assessment, she went with me to my Doctor appointment to discuss how my surgery went and what the plan of attack would be. That blew me away. Sure didnt expect that! I was floored by the amount of care that she put into my recovery. When I had hard to describe issues, she painstakingly crossed every bridge she could think of until together we figured it out. I was on a walker for a week. Then a cane for about 2 months. For that surgery we worked for 3 months and not only strengthened my left side, but additionally strengthened my right side. Then I had the right hip replaced. Immediately after surgery, I swung out of bed with no assistance and walked to the window without a cane or a walker. I was on a cane for 3 days this time vs the 2 months from the prior surgery! That was all due to the work Khushbu had me do. I only wish I had gone and seen her before my first hip surgery. Now I can run up and down steps, Ive lost a ton of weight and Ive learned a lot about how to properly exercise and treat my body. Ive never once had a problem with the staff or the facility. They will bend over backwards to accommodate you. Thanks again for putting me back together, Khush!
I was hit by a car and referred to physical therapy. I chose this location because it was close to home and had the soonest availability. The staff is very friendly and the therapists are excellent. Ive had sessions with two different therapists there. They have sightly different approaches to my treatment but both we very informative and helpful. I have seen a drastic reduction in pain in just a few sessions.
I had neck pain and my doctor told me to come to therapy. I was in therapy for two months and nothing changed. They never touched my neck, they didnt give me anything to comfort me either. I felt that no one cared and they left me there just to do the exercises. Sometimes they told me that I had to walk 10-20 minutes in the clinic, or they put me on the bike. To walk better I go to the park !!!

2022-02-14I had over a dozen sessions at this Athletico over a few months in the early winter and could not recommend this location more! All the staff members I worked with were extremely attentive and focused on recovery, all while maintaining a great atmosphere at the clinic. The professionalism from this location especially left a good impact on me. The road to recovery may take a bit but with each week I felt that I was making progress and the staff reassured that too. Will definitely be recommending this to anyone in the area as needed! Thanks!

2022-05-12I did physical therapy here for about one year after a decade of ignoring my back problems. Matt and his staff were very professional and attentive. Though physical therapy is never an easy fix, the location here was very convenient, had plenty of parking available, and was large enough to have plenty of room for exercising without bumping into other patients. I would really recommend this branch and location to anyone in Logan Square who is looking to start or continue physical therapy.

2022-07-14Everyone I saw over the course of my treatment was great. Katie is an experienced pro — she was super knowledgeable, helpful and also just a pleasure to work with! I mostly worked with Katie, but had a few appointments with Stephanie who was wonderful (and gave me a helpful tip/trick for checking core engagement which I still refer to)…thank you both for the wonderful care, very happy with my treatment and results!

2022-03-04Katie at Athletico in Logan Square was amazing! She helped me try to rehab my lower back pain before I took next steps. Unfortunately, I required surgery due to a bone spur. Once I was able to start PT after surgery, I knew where I was going! Back to Katie I went and was back to exercising and normal activities in no time. I would highly recommend!

2022-05-11I came to Athletico through a recommendation from a friend and I have really enjoyed working with their care team. I have worked with them for Physical Therapy and for Occupational Therapy and they have been nothing but kind and supportive in helping me get care for my issues. I also sometimes pop back in for dry needling if needed. Really love the staff here and cannot recommend them enough!

2022-08-18Just finished several weeks of sessions with Jacob R. He helped me recover from my injury. During the process he was a great listener, making adjustments as needed. I felt his treatment was tailored to me, and my own goals. I’ve been to several PTs in my life, and Jacob was the best.

2022-05-16I have been recovering from a total knee replacement which has turned out to be much more difficult and time intensive than I imagined. My time at Logan Square Athletico has been invaluable in my recovery. Matthew Klayman specifically, has been super helpful - very patient, listens to my concerns, communicates with my doctors team, and pushes me hard enough to ensure progress, which I really appreciate.

2022-09-13I had back pain that bothered me for a few years and my doc sent me here. After a month of PT Im pain free. I worked with Jacob, he went above and beyond, teaching and explaining exercises as we went through them. He also left me with suggestions/guidance for how to continue working on my strength post-athletico. Thanks again to Jacob and to everybody who works here!

2022-05-27Flexible scheduling and knowledgeable/friendly staff. Matt did a great job of explaining and guiding me throughout the entire process. I saw significant improvement from my first day and onward through my last day and then to my long term continuation.

2022-08-23I had a great experience at Athletico Logan Square. I had a minor ankle injury but was concerned that the condition never fully healed. Jacob helped me to recover and taught me methods to more proactively prevent flare ups and future injuries.
