I had the best experience here for my shoulder! I was able to make an appointment right away, and Mark knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. He listened with care, and explained what was going on and what his treatment plan was, and why he was doing those things. And it worked! The rest of the staff was great too. I hope I dont need to, but Ill definitely call this location again if I need more PT. Thanks, Mark!
Mark and staff were so important to my recovery. I limped in 2.5 months ago knowing it was going to be a lot of work but they made the whole process very easy. I understood right away what my part of the work involved and that my visits were to simply enforce the work at home. Mark was able to assess my progress and any setbacks skillfully and that helped set my progress. I was able to get back to my very physically demanding job in 8 weeks without restrictions. I was able to get back to my regular workouts with some tweaking. I would highly recommend this team to anyone post surgery or injury. Rachel brighten up the windows regularly and it made the equipment more pleased to use.
Carolyn is fantastic. She nursed and coaxed my foot from barely being able to bear weight to the ability to carry me on daily jogs—in 8 visits! She is sensitive, kind, helpful, patient, and encouraging. So grateful and blessed to have been paired with her! The other staff I interacted with are also friendly and helpful. A great therapist and an uplifting environment.
My daughter (12 years old) needed physical therapy for her posture and a growth plate fracture (osgood schlatter disease). She worked with Mark and Ernie. They are both great with kids and amazing therapists. Both were very good communicators and detailed their goals and expectations very clearly. They adjusted the therapy to fit the needs of my daughter. When one exercise didnt work, they found alternatives. I was very impressed with their knowledge of my daughters issues. They were able to correct both problems in about 2 months (twice a week). My daughter was pain free when she was finished and is still pain free almost 3 months later. They gave her exercises she could do on her own to maintain her progress. This was our second time at this office. I went in 2018 for ankle therapy after suffering a broken ankle. Mark helped me then and I was able to walk limp-free and pain-free after a few months, which was not expected so soon after my injury. Rachel at the front desk handled all the paperwork with insurance, doctors, appointments, etc. The facility is very clean. They wipe down the equipment and beds after every patient. I highly recommend this office!
Carolyn M is a very experienced and intuitive physical therapist. I highly recommend her. Her approach is holistic and compassionate yet firm in helping with muscle, soft tissue, skeletal ailments of the body. My quality of life has improved thanks to her approach. Her technical assistant, Vince, also is top-notch and helps you to do the exercises optimally. Thank you!
Carolyn has been absolutely fabulous with helping me recover from my bunion surgery. She has always made me feel comfortable and most importantly she always makes the experience fun while I’m here.The staff and assistants have also always been exceptionally helpful and motivating!!In a nutshell ... 5 stars is an understatement!! 💜💜
I had a knee injury that was still giving me issues after several months and made an appointment with Mark. He had me feeling back to normal within several weeks with a targeted and personal plan. Felt very at ease in this facility and with the staff. They are kind and personable and have clear and consistent practices set up for covid safety. I was very comfortable and received excellent treatment.
Carolyn was awesome!! She helped me recover from an elbow injury much quicker than I had ever anticipated. She was super nice and fun to have as a physical therapist.
Mark is keeping this body going even when it continues to try and break down :). Carolyn works well with her patients, and Rachel makes sure everyone stays positive and safe. Vince left, but was a wonderful tech!The best part about going to Athletico is the atmosphere. It is clean and welcoming and the music is usually pretty good (except the heavy metal days). They really do make sure you heal well and are willing to point their patients in the right direction for total physical wellness.The only downside (and Mark you know who this is) is that they have NO Internet access for patients. So if you are looking to use your cell phone to check out your email, conduct research on your ailment, or even send a Google review about Athletico as you are getting ice, heat, or nerve therapy, dont expect to do it there (or even in the parking lot). The Athletico firewall BLOCKS all Internet access for patients.
I have been so pleased and impressed with AthletiCo and its staff at the Carol Stream site. Mark Kortenhoeven is the site manager who oversees the entire operation and ensures high quality care is delivered—even in his absence. He is also an experienced and professional physical therapist who has produced rather remarkable results with both my degenerative cervical disk disease and rotator cuff shoulder injury, dramatically increasing my range of motion and reducing the severity and frequency of pain.I also want to thank Rachel Atkinson, the office coordinator, who greets clients with a cheerful smile and does a great job with scheduling appointments, ensuring appointments are kept with timely and frequent reminders.All of the staff members I’ve encountered have been cheerful, courteous and helpful, enthusiastically reflecting the values and priorities of leadership.I most strongly recommend and heartily endorse this Carol Stream AthletiCo site for your physical therapy needs. The staff at this clinic is friendly, appointments are easy to schedule, and attention is paid to COVID protocols. I never feel that I am left on my own while doing exercise repetitions. My PT always asks for a report since my last appointment and tailors my thereapy that day accordingly. I am never pushed to serious discomfort, and massage is always a part of my treatment.
I have been rehabbing my knee with Mark and the quality of his service is just outstanding. The attention to detail and care and courtesy of all of the staff is superior. This is my second injury that I have gone for therapy and I highly recommend them. The clinic is clean and they are flexible with their times it really makes the hard work of rehab more enjoyable and my results have been better than expected.
I met Carolyn Molskow about 6 months ago. Suffering from a painful knee injury I went to see her for an evaluation. She was very kind and thorough with her evaluation. In no time she had a plan for my recovery. We worked together 3 days a week. When the Covid 19 pandemic took hold I was very nervous about going into the facility for therapy. She offered me one on one treatment where I would be the only patient in the facility. I was still nervous so she offered me Tele Medicine visits via FaceTime. We didn’t skip a beat! I am getting stronger everyday with her workouts. I feel she is very passionate about what she does and cares for her patients. She has a great personality and knows how to get the best out of me in our one hour session. She lives in the community she serves which is always a plus in my book! I would highly Recommend Carolyn Molskow for your physical therapy needs.Tim H
I had a terrible pain in my back and was referred to this facility by my doctor. Mark and Carolyn did a great job teaching me how to stretch. After a few weeks I became pain free. I highly recommend Mark and Carolyn. They really know what they are doing.
My experience has been all that could be expected. Everyone has done all they could to help me in my recovery from rotator cuff surgery. A special thanks to Carolyn for the care and professionalism in my treatment.

I worked with Carolyn at this location and received excellent care! Sessions were productive and I had a home program that helped me make quick progress.

Mark Kortenhoeven and his team are incredible.I have had long term issues with my hamstring and he got me back running an ultramarathon and finally healing through my issues.

I went to get help with hip/back pain that left me unable to do basic tasks, and when I was done with my appointments I was able to do those tasks with no pain, as well as stand up straight which I wasnt able to do before.
Mark was great, the facility was clean, Tina was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

2022-07-06Had a bad case of Vertigo. Carolyn and Megan at the Carol Stream location rid my vertigo in one session. I went back for 2 follow up sessions working on my balance. Carolyn requested me to call her 2 weeks after my last session to bring her up on my status. Everything was fine. Good job guys. Jerry Guth

2022-05-20I worked with Carolyn M at the Carol Stream location for a hip problem in which I could barely lift my leg to get into a car or bathtub. In a month and a half of therapy visits 3x/week I can now lift my leg without any pain. I highly recommend working with her for any body pain you may be experiencing.

2022-01-06I saw Carolyn for my back-injury this past December. Carolyn did such a thorough evaluation on my back and addressed every issue. I have done PT in the past and have never had anyone address the issues Ive had for years. Im now able to get back to my workouts and normal activities. Carolyn is wonderful. If you have chronic back issues- come and see her!!

2022-01-05I completed physical therapy after being hit in a traffic accident and have many good things to say about the attention I received at Athletico in Carol Stream. Mark is excellent at pinpointing the source of pain and directed my therapy to give me relief from deep muscle pain in my neck and shoulders. The facility is clean and has good ventilation. My heartfelt thanks to everyone at the facility for helping get me back to normal activities.

2021-02-22I had a great experience with Carolyn through 2 different shoulder injuries. Carolyn is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, and she taught me a lot. Not only did my shoulder heal, I feel much more equipped now to take better care of my body. I even looked forward to every appointment because of the environment that Carolyn and others created. Do I dare say I had fun along the way? I did. Im really grateful for the care I received.

2021-02-04I had an excellent experience with Carolyn and staff at this location.Carolyn is very knowledgeable and caring. She listened to my concerns, answered all my questions and provided me with a program to increase my flexibility and maintain the health of my lumbar spine. She was a saving grace during this time of Covid restrictions and gave me hope that I would feel better again. Now I know that I can diminish the stiffness in my back when I get up in the morning.I felt very comfortable and safe with the cleanliness and precautionary measures taken at this office Rachel at the front desk was very professional and thorough with future appointments and check in procedures..I would highly recommend Carolyn and staff at this Athletico location.

She listened carefully to my concerns and modified each session to have the best effect. She provided clear and understandable advice regarding home care.
