Went in to buy a full lamb and the butchers were helpful! The store was also neat and organized. The lamb ended up tasting delicious so it was worth the drive.
At times not a great value, but for the most part theres always reasonably priced goods with the majority of the store dedicated to Mexican and other Latin American food
The manager follows us around two grown men because we live nearby and bring our backpacks so we can carry food. He followed me into the bathroom one time, and caught me on the phone and washing my hands. Ridiculous!

Their tamales and carnitas are awesome....but get there early, as they sell out early in the day especially on the weekends.Located by the butcher counter

This store has a weird smell to it evertime I go. The produce does not look fresh. I prefer other places in Elgin over this one definitely.

Non produce items are over priced, but that is typical for a small store. I usually enjoy my trips here.

Went for creamer and all they had was almond milk creamer. It was disgusting.
Only had 2% milk on hand. Music is loud. Otherwise, staff are friendly and helpful.

Very dirty place there is no one to clean the corridors, the fruit is very stale and sometimes even rotten, I made my purchases there and among them a very expensive small papaya and when I split it at home it was watered down inside and full of lama, I had to throw it away , there is never anyone who can ask you something, only the cashiers and always with their face to charge horrible place
I live in carpentersville and I like to come here. Since I can remember, the employees have been there. Familiar faces and they are friendly. I like to buy the meat from here, specifically the fresh chorizo. Tastes good and different than competing elgin fresh market. I recommend Armandos in elgin.

A good place to stock the basic basket, its only detail is the entrance and exit that are through the same door and that is complicated and uncomfortable

2021-09-18Best Arrachera meat in NW suburbs! Not sure where everybody else gets their skirt steak but theirs is by far the leanest and freshest. Ive tried many stores in St Charles and Elgin and they just dont compare! The meat counter is staffed well so you get served kind of quick and they offer a lot of authentic meats, too, e.g. cow tongue:) My only issue with this place is the darn flies in the store.....and of course the steak prices:(

2019-04-28I bought some carnitas today and they were burnt with little black pieces on the bottom of the tray. I called the store and their answer was that nobody called to complain except for me. I felt like the person who answered the phone thought that I just wanted to get something free. Also, the lady who was attending that area was not very friendly at all! I am definitely not coming back to this location.

2018-10-27Very cute and small Hispanic grocery store. Their staff is friendly and they have fresh produce. Prices are decently cheaper compared to competitors, and they play fun background music that I slightly dance to while shopping.

2017-04-04Spanish and English are spoken here. Great prepared foods on weekends. Always a smiling face. Great selections of food. Meat not always prepacked. 1/4 lb.1/2lb. You tell them. They have 4 or 5 butchers. Great meat prices.
