Great experience at Antioch Model Trains. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Jack gave me some great advice. Going into this store brought back a lot of great memories. I definitely would recommend this store to all train enthusiast!

A very wonderful store with a wide selection of N Scale and O Scale. Definitely take a look if you are in these scales. Also has a lot of various RC vehicles and slot cars. Will definitely shop here again.
If youre in to N-Scale trains then this is the place to shop. GREAT customer service and Great selection of N-Scale locos, cars, buildings and track. They also carry other train scales (HO & O) along with some R/C stuff. Im finding it harder and harder to find a hobby shop that carries as much N-Scale model train stuff as this shop does without having to travel long distances. When I heard there was a hobby store in antioch, i was very excited. I was planning on getting a 1/5th scale rc but after finding out it wasnt in stock and nearly 2x as much as online retailers(he quoted me list MSRP) I decided to pass and instead buy a toy for my nephew. I ended up with a slot car set, mostly because i wanted to support the store. After gifting it to my nephew, of course he wanted to put it together immediately. After hours of reconfiguration and checking every connection i realize the set is broken, i called the store we did a little troubleshooting and decided that i would need to bring it in. In my first attempt to the store I realized that there hours were awful and only open 20 hrs a week and only from 11-5, at least thats what they post. I left disappointed but still excited and appreciative there was a local hobby store. I made 2 more attempts during posted store hours and the door was locked and the lights on. I left a message asking when i could come in. We settled on a date and time. I finally got him to look at the track and he agreed it was defective. And this is where my HATE for this store came from, I told him i wanted too exchange it for a better set. He showed me what he had they were all more expensive, i just had one caveat that the upgraded cars i bought for the previous work with the new track. Unfortunately the track i bought was the best you could buy for the style of car i originally had. So when he realized this he said there are no exchanges or returns for gas or electric items. I looked around the store there is no sign posted or was this mentioned during purchase or when I was trying to buy a more expensive model. I explained that he is obligated to accept out of the box defective product, otherwise why would someone shop there you take all the risk... He told me was going to call the manufacturer and replace the broken parts. I got a call a couple weeks later. He had gotten the wrong parts, at this point i just wanted to not deal with this guy anymore. So i went home, got the toy, brought it back, left it on the counter and told him i was calling the cc company and having them remove the charge. In the end this store is a good way for you to put your hands on stuff before you buy from the internet. This is why amazon is the best.

Place is NEVER open!!! Ive stopped there 5 times during posted business hours and was closed every time. Ive also called as many times, again during his posted business hours with no answer. Not even a voicemail. Too bad for him.. im an avid model builder. Would spend some money if the place was ever open.

Ive been going there for years, for my dads vintage Lionel set. The owner and staff are extremely helpful with us less educated patrons. I highly recommend it.
Well stocked with O scale and N scale train stuff. Not much HO scale stuff. Some R/C planes, some rocket stuff available. They had some books and scenery stuff too. Staff was helpful.

2020-01-09Had a wonderful time visiting Antioch Model Trains & Hobby Shop!! Owner Jack is kind, professional and treats you like family, like we have known each other forever! He is very knowledgeable about his products, and his enthusiasm for the train/hobby collections makes it extremely fun to shop. I found the prices to be beyond fair, and loved the extra tips and advice he gave me. Also does repairs if needed and fairly priced. We will definitely be returning as soon as possible. Highly recommend Jack and his Store!!!!

2015-12-06Had a nice experience there today, nice to know there are hobby shops close by, brought my husband for his birthday to get him some additional tracks and a train car. staff was very helpful. yes its a little more expensive but you get what you want right away along with the knowledge. Always great being able to support our small businesses.

Had an issue with part of a Lionel accessory I had purchased and the owner remedied it right away and everything works great now.. definitely will be back for more purchases in the future..
