Angelo Caputos Fresh Markets - Addison in other cities:
I ordered a cooked turkey from Caputos in Addison for Thanksgiving, & it was fabulous. Picked it up hot and ready to serve. It comes with a good size container of delicious homemade gravy on the side. Delicious, cooked perfectly, & the convenience made my hosting much easier.
This full service grocery has a wide selection of Italian, Greek and Polish foods. The selection of Italian, meats cheese and baked goods are outstanding. If you want quality olive oil this should be your first stop. I was totally impressed with my first shopping visit while accompying my daughter. When we return to Chicago this will be a mandatory stop.
5 stars for caputos in general but someone needs to have a chat with the check out woman Lisa. It’s really sad to watch her be so impatient and rude with what looked like to be a new employee she was overseeing. Rolling her eyes when he asked for help multiple times in front of customers is not a good look and you could tell that he was embarrassed over something that was so minor. Managers should have more leadership and understanding than that! Super upsetting to watch. Good luck to that new employee.
Clean and fresh at a fair price. The international deli is outstanding. Great selection of so much more than white sandwich bread. Fresh fish and meats with experienced butcher for custom requests. Grocery and frozen foods are fully stocked. Always fresh pastries in the bakery or packaged goodies in the international aisle.
I love shopping here because of the quality and selection of products. However when its time check out I almost get an anxiety attack. Theres nowhere to line up and its always busy so I try to stay out of the way of people shopping. The check out process seriously makes me not want to shop here.
Love this location. The produce and the availability of items you cant find anywhere else is unsurpassed. Great bakery. Unique wines. Good seafood & meat. Their deli is amazing! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons... Both are things Ive noticed over years of being a devoted customer (again, I love this place). 1) their prices can be on the high side; and 2) their employees honestly have no clue and need much better training. Other than that I have only good things to say about Caputos. A Chicago classic.
It is a great grocery store. They have Italian. Polish and even Russian cuisine food and products. Prices is very reasonable. I like to go to Angelo Caputo market to buy our groceries. You can buy vine there from different parts of world. Also it is great variety of cheese, sweets and fish!
I go there regularly for groceries but today I tried the sushi from the new company (there used to be a different one) and it was the best sushi I’ve had recently. I tried some from the Marianos in Elmhurst recently but it wasn’t nearly as good. This one was so fresh and flavorful. I’m hoping they’ll stay consistent with that. Special thanks to the Chef!
Love Caputos. Helpful staff. Fresh produce, fresh meats. Butchers on duty for special cuts. Deli w mutiple staff for faster service. Coffee bar. Bakery. Fresh tortillas made on site. Fresh salsas. Hot foods. Cold foods. Take home and heat up foods. Fresh pizzas from pizza oven. Pizza dough to take home and have a pizza making party w the kids. Gelato bar. Beautiful seating area w fireplace to enjoy a freshly made lunch or snack. Wonderful Italian music plays overhead. I cant imagine anything forgotten in this environment.
We grew up on the west side in Austin. My mom was 1st generation Irish. Fortunately for us, she did not cook many Irish meals, but rather looked for different cuisines and tastes. Mom would often go to Angelo Caputos on Harlem near Grand to get truly authentic Italian products. As time went on, our family moved north and Angelo Caputos expanded west. Due to distance, even though visits to Angelo Caputos slowed, the memories lingered .Present time. I had the opportunity to visit Angelo Caputos in Addison. It was truly a great experience. First, the store was clean and wet lit. Aisles were clearly marked. That being said, the store layout was wonderful. International deli counter was large with wide assortment of items. Specialty cheese section was set aside and staffed. Great assortment of produce. Meats were well presented. The wide variety of products, especially focusing on Italian (I must admit, that is what I was shopping for that day and did not have a chance to really peruse the other ethnic products) was awesome. As awesome as the product assortment was, what stood out to me was the service. I asked a couple of staff for assistance in locating a product and they took me to what I was looking for. The butcher behind the meat counter made sure everything I needed was right. There are times when you go out of your way to shop someplace that based on their service and assortment and Angelo Caputos is clearly that place.
I have been shopping at this location for about 6 months. I was and still am very impressed each time I shop there. The variety and quality is amazing! As for customer service, that ranks in the top too! Not only do they NOT act like its a chore when asked if they have a product, they take you to it and its not a big store.
I had shopped here for many years but after the Renovation well the quality, people working, freshness has hit an all time bottom. Produce was at End of Cycle Dutch Farm eggs broken and the People cutting my prosciutto are well rude and didnt know how to cut and trim . Petes is my market now.
Used to go there. Stopped because their fruit and veggies would last only a few days. They just added new wing with hot food, pizza, new lunch counter, and a bar. First thing I see is their slicing tomatoes. Most were bruised and rotten. Same old Caputos.Washrooms are next to the lunch counter. Watched a slicer walk out of the stall and wash his hands. Only issue was the soap was empty. Gross!Their prices aren’t much cheaper either, never mind the quality.Pete’s Fresh Market has way better produce and the lunch counter is just as good...Joe C
Great service. We were looking for manitoba flour. Someone helped us find where it should be on the shelf, but they were out. They called another location, had them put it on hold for us and then reminded the person that it was Tuesday and to be sure to give my mom her senior discount.
I have been a customer there for over 15 years. I know there is construction currently going on... and I know what it entails when things are not quite perfect and things that still need to be organized and done in a working store. I like the concept of the Hot Foods and Cold Foods, Sushi, various baked goods and fresh meals ready to heat up. I like the Coffee bar and a real bar with beer and liquors. If I do have to criticize anything about it is when I purchase coffee in the early morning I dont want to have a bright orange sticker on the top of the coffee cup to show that it is paid for...when the only way you can get it is by a Barista making it for you and you paying for it... I dont know but it seems a bit tacky. The other critique is the Sushi is expensive I have actually gone to Japanese markets in Schaumburg and Elk Grove Village to grab a quick bite to eat and the same size of boxes for far less. While I know (and I cant stress this enough) they are still a working store under construction the place needs to be cleaned up a bit more. For example, the Cashier Belt needs to be wiped down constantly and there is a fishy smell in the air, floors need to be mopped frequently. Sometimes it reminds of an open air fish market.I know... I know ... why the 5 stars? Caputos got the Italian old vibe feel to it that offers ingredients and foods from around the world. They are trying to maintain their image and services to compete with their competitors and provide for their customer needs. I can admire that. It is not easy making the decision to spend alot of money upgrading your store, and inconveniencing your customers. The food is actually great and their cakes are devine. I look forward to seeing the store grow.On a side note: I make critiques in the hopes word gets to the owners and managers of Caputos in Addison. I wish them just to know what the public might notice. What things might need to be looked at while they are in transition. It is always the little things.Sorry I couldnt add pictures they dont allow picture taking in the store... maybe someday they will.
Love the selection. Love the deli. Love that they carry Chellino Scamorza Pizza Cheese. But, the store is dirty and feels a bit grimey. When you go to the Angelo Caputos on Ogden in Downers Grove, it *just* feels like a better shopping experience. But...I still go back because they have stuff that I cant get at Jewel or Marianos.
We shop here regularly but some items are always expired. Watch out for any dairy products especially yogurts. Most of the time 1 week expired. Also bought apple sauce and it was 3 months expired !! went back to the store asked to speak to the manager , completely ignored by the manager. Went to get a different apple sauce and all of them were 3 months expired. Beware of the expiration dates.
They have a wide variety of Italian Foods & Pastas and sauces and very good Bakery wide variety beyond meat counter is full of Siamese and delicious lunch me and their me counter and its very very clean and beer Fish Market is cleaning get anything you want there its really good
Recently upgraded store with a addition to the building has a lot of new options such as comfortable eating area and few bars added like a sushi, cold salad, hot soups and meals ready to eat, in addition, salsas and gelato stand with samples. Lets check it out thay dont want to stay behind larger competitors
Today we visited your store location in Addison ill. My wife was waiting at the fresh fish deli to purchase some salmon, after a long wait for some help the gentleman from the fresh meat counter walked over to assist her(which was very nice)Instead of removing the plastic gloves he had on (which were cover with blood from the meat) and putting on a new pair of gloves he just picked up the salmon and cut what she need.THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT SHOULD PAY THEM A VISITNATURALY SHE DID NOT PURCHASE THE SALMON FISH
I had been here before a few years ago to get some Russian grocery items. Remembered this place and went once again. This place has a huge selection of bread. Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Russian rye bread, etc. It also has makovy roulette? This poppy seed Russian dessert bread which is difficult to find anywhere. Also I needed some semolina or manya and grechnaya kasha or roasted buckwheat . This place has a humongous selection for groceries ; spanning several cultures. I found these items in the Polish aisle but the Russian items are opposite next to the Greek items. Has a huge pasta aisle and lots of fresh produce. I love this place! So convenient and dont have to go to Ukrainian village in downtown to get these items. :)
Louis in the deli should be fired he does not know how to treat customers!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have been going there 2-3 times a week for over 25 years.I am going to make sure I tell everyone about my experience this is the second time this person was more than rude to me they said they talked to him the first time he obviously doesnt care !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIRE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every time I shop here I have to look at the dates on everything and chances are it already is out of date or is a day off from being out of date. Not sure where there vendors are moving product out and bringing fresh product in. Im thinking about not shopping there anymore.

2022-06-21My husband picked up the cake to bring to my sons venue for his birthday party. It was supposed to say “It’s Party Time” in neon colors for a laser theme party. Instead I received “Get Your Sparkle On” in purple. Not happy. Luckily I had cupcakes to cover the image. I had many problems with the bakery staff who was writing the order down and I even asked to rewrite or look it over when I saw the phone number was incorrect after a few attempts and my son’s name was wrong. Overall, very disappointed and have gotten multiple cakes from here per year.Edit: The manager called me the next day before I even had a chance to call the office. They were apologetic and really do care about customer service. The cake is always delicious and the best in the area. Hope there is a better way to order the cakes in the future and maybe even an online ordering option.Thank you!

2022-01-24Odd parking lot setup but the rest of the place is my favorite place to shop for groceries! The produce is top notch as is the selection! In fact the selection of food here is amazing! The customer service is above average and the store is always clean. I hate to see employees wear those stupid masks but some Karens will probably complain. Their meat counter is amazing as is their deli. Prices can be 15% higher on some items but it s worth it.

2022-02-24Store is great for those imported Italian foods that you cannot get elsewhere. It’s always clean and stocked. Get in Alma Roses checkout for a good laugh…she makes paying the higher inflation prices a bit better.

2022-01-16The selection and quality are fabulous! And, I could just walk through the store for hours!I adore the symphony of aromas, the old world feel punctuated with the traditional ethnic music. Reminds me of big family dinners and home.

2022-04-12Love the store, weve been going there for years. But today we had a bad encounter with a cashier who was very rude to us. We were so uncomfortable with this abrasive person that we are switching locations. Why hire someone who is downright mean to customers?

2022-05-17Worst food court I have ever had!!!! I tried their meatballs once and they were horrible. Had to return them! Just yesterday I wanted to give this food court one more try and bought their mushroom soup, it was awful! Creamer and mushrooms, awful!!! When returning the soup the lady said they are short staffed! If that is the case, then don’t make any soup if you don’t have the staff to make decent food court meals!!!!

2020-03-07This review is for the bar/eating area. The best kept secret in the area, you can get a $9.99 deluxe pizza and they will bake it for you. Draft beer is just $3 on Friday. The food court is great all new with a wonderful fire pit. Feed the whole family and have drinks for about $20-30. Can’t believe this place isn’t more popular especially on Friday.
