Advocate Sherman Immediate Care Center in other cities:
DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU CAN AFFORD IT.I got charged $1,000 for a 5 minute talk with a doctor who just told me to go meet with my primary doctor because they don’t have enough equipment there to help. My BCBS insurance only covered $300 from that $1000 bill. BEWARE. You’re better off going to the immediate care by springhill mall if you can. (Advocate Medical Group in West Dundee) My bill from there was only 80 bucks.
Do not go here unless you want to pay $400 for a strep test, which you’ll never actually get results for. We have insurance. At no point was anyone up front about the costs of going to this place. We typically pay $50 for similar places, such as cvs and at the old medexpress. I am disgusted by this. Resubmitting a claim didn’t help.
The medical care I received here was excellent and I highly recommend them if you can get beyond check-in. Administration and billing are abysmal. My co-pay was never applied to my account and I had to spend well more than an hour on the phone with Blue Cross Blue Shield, the payment processing center, and the facility themselves trying to resolve weeks later. The administrative check-in person I dealt with that night was so incompetent and frustrating, my experience with her almost dissuaded me from continuing to seek care there and was probably the direct cause of my astronomically high blood pressure. I wonder if she didnt apply the payment deliberately to cause me further consternation?
Every single person there was absolutely lovely and so helpful. Despite being sick, being there was actually a fairly positive experience! The skill and care of the nurses was amazing, the response time of the doctor was surprisingly fast, and everyone seemed genuinely happy when I started to feel better. This facility is extremely well run, and I definitely suggest it.
Dismissive, rude, and lack of quality care. I was aware of my issues, and when informing the nurses I was advised I was incorrect, my issues were invalid and not of immediate concern. I left this location and was admitted to the emergency room immediately and my complaints were confirmed contrary to what this location had advised less than 30 minutes prior. I will advise everyone I know to not go here and will never return.
On Saturday 02/22/20, I had my first experience here. I had gotten a foreign object stuck in my eye and was unable to flush it out on my own.The entire staff, from Patient Intake, to the Nurses and the Doctor, all made me very comfortable and at ease. They are a fantastic team!!! I entered in pain and with a very irritated eye and left in short order with a smile on my face!Highly recommended!!!
In a recent visit, I waited hours, saw the doc less than 5 minutes, and had an X-ray. Left as I came in without an ace bandage, Advil or anything else, just a recommendation to get myself a boot and see a specialist. Doc seemed nice enough, but still. $650.00 bill for the visit. I feel robbed.
Be aware - you will be charged by the facility and by the Doctor for using this Urgent Care. All of the charges are not wrapped up into an Urgent Care visit. We were seen quickly and diagnosed properly, just got unexpected billing from the Dr - no advance notice from the admitting desk that the billing would be separate.
I will not be going back to this place ever again. Went in on a Saturday afternoon because of a stomach pain. After about and hour wait, the actual 5-8 minute doctor check up ended up costing over a thousand dollars... Ridiculous!!! The place does not tell you that anyone that comes in contact with you at the place will charge you, on top of the clinic fee. So just to sit in a room of their elaborate clinic, advocate charged me over $900.. Then I received a separate bill for a few hundred from thelab for the urine test. Another hundred dollar bill for someone else to read the urine test results (really?? are you kidding me with this?), then a few weeks later, yet a separate bill for the doctor who actually saw me and talked to me, for maybe five minutes... Im surprised they did not charge me for the nurse as well who asked me how much I weigh....That must have been included in their $900 charge to sit in the waiting room. Bunch of crooks!, I will not be going back. Because of this experience I am switching health providers all together. Will not be using Advocate ever again..
Terrible experience. Advocate hospitals have been great to us, but this outpatient center is the epitome of a goat rodeo. Wow. A collection of individuals who repeatedly treated my wife & I in a know-it-all type of way, each having contradictory information from the next person. It was so frustrating, it was almost funny. Resulted in countless phone calls to track down records, voice mails because individuals there rarely picked up, cancelled appointments with our primary physicians because of one person promising us one thing, while another talked to us as though we were idiots for believing that promise. No apologies for miss-set expectations or the big pile of inconveniences they caused. Wont be going back...thats for sure.
I went in to get a doctors note to go back to work after injury. I had been cleared by a previous doctor at a different practice but didnt know I needed a note from him to return. After playing 100 questions with both nurse and doctor, the doctor told me he was, not comfortable clearing me for work because I didnt come in that morning instead of that night. I left not being able to return to work that night and with a bill for having my vitals taken. Awful service beyond the reception desk.
Went in on a Sunday night before they closed and although it was busy I was seen promptly and the receptionist was very caring and friendly. The doctor was great as well. I needed chest X-rays and that was completed rather quickly as well. The doctor even followed up with me to let me know of some findings and I went back in a few days later and quickly received my X-ray copies. Overall I was very pleased with their caring and friendly personalities and the promptness of all services completed. Would highly recommend.
The so called Quality of care is Carelessness to the NTH Degree, their Doctors/ Nurse practitioners/ Physicians assistants, are in one word... HORRIBLE !!!You might have to wait, ON AVERAGE as long as TWO HOURS, for a non urgent emergency. The main hospital, recommends these facilities, claiming that their MAIN Emergency room is too busy... However its been my experience that the main E.R. Can Treat & Street the same type of small cases (Sprains, colds, the Flu) in less than HALF the time that the urgent care takes !I dont know about other Urgent care facilities, however THIS ONE SUCKS HORRIBLY !!!And for the record, is not JUST once or twice that this has happened, but this has been the standard of care now for OVER FIVE YEARS !!!Either myself, my children, my wife, fellow employees, Neighbors, you name it !!!They ALL say the same thing... The average wait time, regardless of the day, or time, always exceeds an hour in just the waiting room, and then over 35 minutes in the back area and up to as long as an HOUR !!!IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, GO TO CENTEGRA HUNTLEY (right down Algonquin rd) or go to the main hospital in Elgin, or Provena St. Joesph in Elgin, or even Good Shepherd hospital in South Barrington. They are ALL roughly the same distance, and the quality of care is extraordinarily BETTER at all of them.I wouldnt bring my Schnauzer for care at Sherman urgent Care at 600 S Randall Rd !!!If youre Dying, PLEASE AND I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR CARE !!!!!It SHOULD tell you something that theres not ONE single review here that has 5, or even 4 stars....Think about that for a minute...Not ONE PERSON at a busy urgent care facility could Bother to give this place a DECENT review, not Even ONE PERSON !!!Are you SURE you want to go here ???
I had a great experience. Went in there bc I caught nasty cold/flu and pink eye from my daughter. All staff was friendly including the doctor. Only waited maybe 20 minutes. Place was clean and they even had coffee in waiting room which I thought was a nice touch. Well definitely go back here in the future if we need to.
Have been in there a few times before. receptionists and nurses are always very nice and attentive. however each time i go in the doctor always seems to be in a rush and not care about my symptoms. got told before that i have nothing, went in with a horrible cough and was told it was a runny nose. each diagnoses is so careless like they just want you out. no good.
We just had an awesome experience at this location. My son has special needs and needed stitches in his chin. The lady who checked us in, the nurses, and the doctor were all wonderful and very accommodating to our needs. And, we were seen on a Friday night at 7pm after only a 10 minute wait. Thank you!!
Love the actual care that we have received. Don’t love that they bill you for a physician fee and a facility fee. Even though I checked with my insurance that it should cost the same as going to my primary, I still end up getting billed 2.5 times what my office visit copay would be. Shame that going here isn’t an option due to the outrageous fees advocate decides to charge.
Made appointment. Showed up early. No one even asked about appointment, when someone finally emerged. 20 minutes of paperwork that should have taken 5 minutes tops. Waited another 20 minutes and well past the end of my appointment time. Told at check-in and by nurse that the doctor would see me and even told me which doctor, though they couldnt provide her first name. Never saw the doctor, but A physicians assistant. She NEVER even looked at the body part I had complained about and NEVER asked about my history in that area. She made a quick diagnosis, which was most likely wrong and handed me three prescriptions. I have to say this again. SHE NEVER LOOKED AT THE BODY PART I COMPLAINED ABOUT AND DIDNT ASK ABOUT MY HISTORY. Overconfident physician assistants, allowed to operate with autonomy, are extremely dangerous.
I come here for physical therapy and they have a wonderful facility. I really like the remodel they did! The physical therapy center is open and inviting. So even if there are more than 3 people here at the same time you dont feel like you dont have enough space. The therapist are great and friendly! I can be open with them and dont feel like I have to hurry up and heal. If I have a question they walk me through it again. Im very hands on and they know how to accommodate this in my care. I absolutely love coming here.
Came in with a 103.1 fever. Left with literally nothing but 3 bills. 1 for $450, another for $100, and another for $1000. How on earth can you do that to a person going to an urgent clinic. I asked them to make sure my insurance would work there and I was told I had nothing to worry about. Thanks for putting me in debt and sending me home with nothing.
This place is the absolute worst. Very long wait times often ending with no treatment. Unprofessional and inadequate staff. I personally witnessed numerous misdiagnosed conditions. And the few times treatment was administered it was only a temporary remedy with focus on billing without any consideration of a long term solution or future preventative measures. I will never go to this hell hole ever again. And I strongly advise all others to avoid this quack house if you truly want satisfactory treatment.
Booked an appointment and called ahead of time to make sure my insurance was accepted. The woman on the phone said it was and I drove the 20 minutes to get there. Once I arrived I was told they didn’t take my insurance and it would be considered out of network. The cost would be around $300 or more. Not many places take my insurance which is why I called ahead of time and gave the specific policy name. I would’ve gone somewhere else if I had known it would be a waste of my time.
I came down with the flu and walked into this facility with no appointment. As soon as I walked up to the desk a very friendly lady volunteered to assist me. She took my information, gave me a bracelet and pointed out the complimentary coffee. She said someone would be with me soon. I only waited about ten minutes before the next friendly person came to escort me to an examination of room. She took my vitals, listened to my list of symptoms, helped me feel at ease and offered a glass of water. Less than ten minutes later the NP came in. Sarah was pleasant and listened attentively to my concerns. She did not rush me and asked some clarifying questions. Relative to pre existing conditions she ordered a chest x-ray, and swabbed for strep and the flu. She offered common sense suggestions on self care and OTC meds and gently joked with me about not over exerting myself. In spite of having the flu and feeling crummy, I left with a smile. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!
I come here for assorted things that need to be taken care of right away but dont need the ER. I really like that this urgent care has the ability to do IV fluids, which isnt the case for most of the urgent cares around here. All of the nurses and doctors are just so nice and great at what they do.All in all, I consider this to be by far one of the best urgent cares in the area. :)
This was terrible. I made an appointment for a blood test for 5:30pm. When I arrived at 5:15pm I was told no blood work after 5:00 pm. Why could I make an appointment then ? When I complained I was told this place is not a lab but an out patient office. Really!!! This place sucks!!!!!!
$500 out of pocket, after in-network insurance, for one urgent care visit. Ran hundreds of dollars in tests, charged $116 for ONE anti nausea pill, sent us home with no diagnosis. Took my son to his primary the next day and they knew immediately it was pneumonia and started antibiotics. I would not recommend going here.
NEVER GO TO THIS IMMIDIATE CARE!!If I could do ZERO STARS I WOULD!!!I had the worst experience with a doctor by the name of VICTOR, I dislocated my shoulder at lifetime fitness and went over there because it was the closest place VICTOR claimed he was an MD and he could put my arm back in after xrays. Well little to be said he did more damage to my arm then he did help me. The guy had no clue what he was doing and I will never go back to this place for even a throat swab.Don’t say u can do something and then basically rip my arm off trying to put it back in.Then he told me he would call the Advocate Sherman ER on randall and 90, to tell them I was coming so I could have a real doctor put my shoulder back into socket. When we arrived there they where very fast getting me into a room and Dr. SINGH in the ER at Sherman hospital came in very fast after they re issued xrays under my request because I wanted to make sure VICTOR DIDNT DO MORE DAMAGE.This being said you pay for what you get and there’s a reason VICTOR doesn’t work in a real ER.
Very nice/caring staff but if you are going for after-hours care, you might as well go the ER at Sherman or a different hospital - different network. They charge their services as Emergency care so everything costs 2-3 times as much as a regular MD/Pediatrician visit. Charged $193 for labs that cost $29 in same building at pediatrician office in same building. I am avoiding the Advocate network in general due their absurd billing practices
I usually use the main hospital for my dexascan but the wait list was long so I decided to try their immediate care location on Randall Road in Algonquin. The technician just didnt seem to position me the same way as the technician at the hospital. She didnt even pay attention as the machine scanned my body. My biggest concern was the radiologist report, it made absolutely no sense. I thought maybe because I didnt have a medical background but when I brought to my doctor he was confused reading the radiologists report also. We are both still confused about my T-score and what the final test results actually mean. The whole test was horrible from start to finish. I would not recommend using this location for your dexascan, use the hospital, the equipment is more sophisticated and the technicians seem more interested in their work, and the radiologist wrote up a much clearer test result..
I had gotten very sick out of no where and couldnt wait to make an appointment with my primary physician. So I went to the advocate sherman immediate care center right down the street from my house. I ended up leaving before they could find the time to give me the medical attention I needed. I waited for just over 2 hours and watched about 2-3 dozen people get called in before me. Most of those people arrived after me too. After talking to the receptionist I discovered there was one more person on the list before me to get called in to see a doctor. Awesome! I thought as i sat back down. 5 john hancocks later I ask the receptionist what she was talking about 5 names just got called in and mine wasnt one of them. She explains to me that they have different departments, bloodwork is one of them and those people are probably there for bloodwork. At this point I am very frustrated and end up leaving because I feel I wont get the medical attention I need. I ended up home and finding out i had a 102.7 degree fever. Moral of my story/review is: if you are sick and require medical attention this advocate sherman immediate care center is the last place you want to go. It appears sick people are the last of their priorities.
My wife went today to get some medicine for a bad cold that had been lingering on all week. She first arrived around noon and had another meeting that she had to attend at 1pm. In that hour she wasnt seen. She then went back after her 1pm meeting and waited 1 hour and 45 minutes and was never seen. She had to leave as we had plans with some friends from church. She then went back and has now been waiting over 2 hours and still hasnt been seen! This is the worse experience I have ever had with any healthcare facility in my entire life. They should be ashamed of themselves. Why do they have the word immediate in their title??
I took my son last night since he was having some troubles. From my first impression I was very pleased with the waiting room staff, and the first nurse who checked my sons vitals. The whole time we were there the staff was attentive, kind and thorough. It was very comforting that one of the nurses had experience in pediatrics. The doctor who diagnosed my son was amazing! She easily gained his trust. I will definitely keep Shermans immidiate care in mind if I ever need help. They were wondeful, and I am greatful that they were open. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is in need.
Went in with severe dehydration and abdominal pain. Doc saw me asked what I had, my wife said ab pain and they sent me to ER in less than a minute. Spent 5 minutes filling out paperwork. Got billed $400 for an assessment. I should have been sent to ER right away if they knew that ahead of time. Very unethical way to earn money.
Horrible experience. Went with the husband so they wouldnt diagnose him with gastroenteritis and send him home. He was not able to sleep the pain in his stomach was so bad. They gave him some gi cocktail that did not relieve his pain and sent him home with a diagnosis of gastroenteritis. I made him go to the ER a few hours later where they did a CT scan and found that he had appendicitis and he had surgery a few hours later to remove his appendix. Thank god it didnt burst. Will not be going back there again. oh and apparently my blue cross blue shield ppo is out of network for them so we end up paying $500+ if we need to go there.
Most employees there are very nice and professional. There is a male nurse there that is not. I went for a 2 day follow up and he was my nurse. He seemed very short and in a hurry with me. I was told to take off my bandage that was covering my stiches for when the dotor comes in. I did as i was asked. When the docotor finished my follow up he let me know the nurse is going to come in a re bandage me up. The doctor walked out and the nurse walked in. He gave me a small stack of papers saying absolutely nothing about them. He gave me some antibiotic ointment and told me to keep the stitches clean. He asked if i would like another bandage and ofcourse i said yes. I cant go outside with out my stiches covered. Then he walked twards the door and tols me to have a nice day he will walk me out. I told him umm no im gona stay in this room until i bandage up my stitxhes like how i came in here. He waits and asks did you want me to help at all or.... yea really seemed like you wanted to help. I do not rember the name of the burse all i know is that he had spikey black hair and was younger. Not happy and do not want to go back.
With my insurance discount my out of pocket was $400 for a pink eye diagnosis. Absolutely ridiculous. And I didnt have pink eye. Never saw a doctor - I kept telling the nurse that I dont think its pink eye. Ive been suffering for a few days so why hasnt it gone into the other eye or to my family? She said that just a testiment to my good hygiene. So $400 for nothing. CVS could have done the exact same thing for $78.
I have very good healthcare insurance Blue Cross PPO and I came here to what I thought was immediate care for some mild symptoms.(so said the sign above the door) I was seen by a physician aid who prescribed me 4 prednisone for a severe case of eczema. That’s not enough to really do anything even if they were a heavy milligram dose. I received a bill from Advocate Sherman Hospital for 249$ and my insurance covered 108$ of it. Absolutely absurd pricing for 15 minutes without a doctor.
Dr. Carter was the rudest, unprofessional dr Ive ever dealt with. My BP was high because I have severe anxiety and high blood pressure and he didnt seem to care how high it was. I came in to get a refill of my anti anxiety meds and he could see I was in distress, completely dismissed me. Eluding that Im an addict. The person taking my info was dumber than dumb. I had to keep repeating myself. I just walked out.

2022-06-08After a week of heavy chest congestion and difficulty breathing, I came in to get some help… and that is exactly what I got. Dr. Julie Vicencio was amazing. She listened to me and took time to analyze symptoms. Left feeling listened to, respected and cared for. Also feel hopeful that I will start feeling better now. It was painless and didn’t take forever. She was great and I will be requesting to see her if I need to return. I wish she could be my primary care Dr.

2022-06-23Around 2:00 pm, Me and my daughter were going to 600 South Randell road Advocate Sherman Immediate Care Center. Suddenly My daughter’s mask broke from the side as we were walking in. So as we walked in there was a sign that said mask required after this sign. So we realized how dangerous it is to have a broken mask on after this sign that is why we asked the Advocate Sherman Immediate Care Center employee at the desk for a new mask she asked us where we are going and I said upstairs then she refused to give us a mask even though she had one. But the mask is for human safety and this is a healthcare provider so it should not matter if we are going upstairs or staying downstairs. I tried to explain how its dangerous without a mask and she said you should bring your mask and step back from hear.

2021-12-20I went for lab work for my daughter today. The phlabotomist Donna had a big attitude problem. I asked her to use a smaller needle because she was about to use the 21 guage which is the biggest needle and should only be used when there is no other option but she got mad at me for asking i brushed it off and after the work was done i just wanted to check the bottle to see if my daughters name was there and that was when she started blatentley screaming at me and moving towards me which seemed like she was going to hit me then threatened me to not come back to the office ever again just because i asked to see the bottle which is my right to check. At this point i felt very unsafe and the disrespect was absolutely gross no one should be treated like this. Worst part is her co worker was siting right there and did nothing about it as if it was a usual thing to scream at customers. please do something about this advocate sherman imidiate care i should have not experianced this just to get some lab work done. please talk to that lady and anyone else who thinks its okay to talk like that to people. thank you.

2021-09-04First time blood draw on my child. Stressful at best. Lab techs were kind and compassionate. Thank you for treating my daughter with empathy and getting the blood with only 1 stick was much appreciated by this mommas heart.

2021-09-14I stopped in June of 2020 for a Covid test and whilst the nurse that preformed the test was nothing but professional the ensuing battle with my insurance company, advocate sherman and now a collection agency reeks of gross negligence and frankly seems criminal. 4 months after my test I received a bill in the mail for $409. I contacted my insurance company who told me that it should covered however the hospital did not submit all the information needed to the insurance company. After reaching out the hospital I was told they would resubmit the information needed. Another 4 months go by and I receive another bill, make the same call and receive the same response, 2 months later the same situation plays out. Fast forward to June of 2021and I received a letter from a collections agency that my bill had been sent to collections. Mind you I had already made 3 attempts to have this corrected. Made the same call for the 4th time and it seemed everything would be straightened out until this morning when I received a notification from my credit report that the collection had been listed as delinquent and that my credit score has dropped 90 points. I am in the midst of considering all of my options but whether it is just a bout of superhuman incompetence or advocate sherman is attempting to predatorily profit off of people in the middle of a pandemic (see other reviews with similar situations) it is so incredibly disappointing to see. At the end of the day I will not be financially ruined by this but I feel horrible for all of the other people who have been already targeted and the people that will be targeted by them in the future. Unless you are actively in the middle of a medical emergency I would recommend you go literally anywhere else and I would have to recommend it not be advocate aurora health. Shame on you.
