I love the atmosphere here. If you have any questions the office personnel are really helpful. My daughter has been going here for a few years. I switched over myself after seeing the wonderful care they have here. We love it. They are wonderful with children as well as adults.
The technician was super nice. They are very thorough in taking pictures of your eyes, and addressing all aspects of your eyes, not just your vision. They gave us tips for dry eyes & helped with her glasses prescription. Very friendly staff all around. Thank you for your friendly and thorough care of my daughter!
Today I was seen by a new student doctor, Dr Mick was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Dr Jamie still came in afterwards to overlook everything and was amazing as well. She has the entire process streamlined to get you in and out as quickly as possible while still holding the utmost quality and care. I highly recommend Advanced Rockford Eye Care to everyone, you’ll be highly pleased too!
This place is the best, some little booger at my daughter school broke her glasses! To say I was freaking out is putting it slightly, she doesn’t have a good site so she definitely needs them. After looking at her prescription they were able to get me in the very next day to get an updated exam done.(her prescription expired and they were booked a month out!) They were so nice about everything! We have been going to them for years and will never go anywhere else!!!
This was my first time and everyone was very professional n they were through with the exams. I was explained everything in detail. I had visited other offices n had eye exams but finally today without me saying a thing they were able to tell I had dry eyes and offered solutions. I will definitely be going back. Thank you for being so nice. Great customer service
Great place they made sure my son was very comfortable, they seen us right away, it wasn’t a long wait.. and my son his eyes taken care of unfortunately he needed glasses and they did all the eye tests he needed to determine that… I really recommend Advance Rockford Eye Care
Big shout out to Dr. King and her staff!! My kids and I appreciate the care and expertise they give to us!! I especially am grateful for her attention to my dry eye issue this last 9 months. It’s been frustrating, but Dr. King, and her staff, have been supportive and positive the whole way!! Thank you!!
I scheduled an eye exam for new glasses. A receptionist told me I needed to bring $55.00 in cash for a Retinal scan. I found that a bit odd, but I did bring the cash, along with my Medicare card.Dr. King began the visual exam but determined my dry eye condition was interferring with the test and quickly left the room. Her assistant took over asking about my eye care routine. I told her I used baby wash for eye lid scrub, Refresh OTC lubricating eye drops, salve at night, and a heat/cold eye mask. She said well GIVE you a good mask, better drops and salve; then when my dry eye is under control Id be fitted for glasses. I assumed GIVE meant GIVE however, I left the office after paying/owing $500.00. Medicare paid very little. She sold me a $60.00 bottle of Tea Tree eyelid and facial cleaner (said it was good for wrinkles) that I had Rosacea of the eyes and skin. Tea Tree would give me beautiful skin like hers. The the drops, Regener-Eyes are not FDA approved and OTC. Theyre made from the placenta of C-section live births and sold on Amazon. I wish I would have read the YELP reviews on this facility before hand. BEWARE, when they have an arm full of products, ask what its going to cost even if they say theyll GIVE to you.
I have never been so happy with an experience with an eye doctor ever. Over the last few years I’ve had difficulties and my glasses have been changed multiple times and still my vision was not good and my eyes were constantly hurting. This office found me an answer on my very first visit and the staff was wonderful .
As an adult who now needs glasses, I had not had the intellectual luxury of knowing how optical care offices work. Thankfully, the staff at Rockford Eye Care is helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. I was even able to get help finding what set of frames look visually appealing on my face, something that isn’t necessary but very appreciated.
Friendly, professional staff. Masks are mandatory for personnel and guests which shows they care about everyones health and well-being. They give you suggestions to keep your eyes as healthy as possible but dont pressure you into doing anything youre uncomfortable with.
I have been going to Dr King for years. Unfortunately, after I retired my only option was Medicaid. They werent within my plan anymore so I was seen but only since I thought I had a torn retina. I wasnt given results whatsoever upon leaving and at time I had a follow up 2 days later. They ended up canceling my follow up and I had to beg for the results of the previous appointment. They did say that they couldnt help me and that I needed to see an Opthamologist. I had called them twice to have my records faxed for my Opthamologist and was told they were sitting on the Drs desk to be taken care of. Got to the new Dr and no previous notes or faxes to be seen. The new office called them and they said that I needed to sign a records release. This is true but why the hell didnt thet tell me that during the two phone calls that I had put through to them. Dont even try to go there if you have Medicaid, you will be treated like you have the plague.
They were very accommodating as my 3 year old son is autistic and was very unhappy having his eyes messed with so they gave him all the time he needed and made him feel as comfortable as he possibly could feel! They were all very professional and very nice about everything ! Thank you Advanced Rockford Eye Care for making it as easy as possible with my baby!
I just finished my 5th IPL treatment for dry eyes. I’m amazed at Dr Jaime King’s expertise in not only finding my severe dry eye condition including rosacea of the eyelids (who knew that even existed) but also in treating it with the intense pulsed light. She is the only optometrist in town that does this! My eyes are getting better with each treatment. Thank you Dr King.
Do not go here, worst eye doctor in town. She will try to upsell you or fit you in the most expensive lense then when told that the price is too much she refuses to out you in a cheaper brand. Wont do bi-weekly or monthly for anyone as thats her belief. Save yourself hundred of dollars and a headache. Go anywhere else
Dr. King and her staff are exceptional in all that they do. They are caring, thoughtful and extremely efficient. I have been a patient for several years and know that I am receiving the best care possible. If you are looking for eye care, I highly recommend you give them a try. You will be happy you did!!
We as a family have been going to Advanced Rockford Eye Care for years. Dr. King is the best. She explains things thoroughly and makes you feel comfortable and that your needs are met. They have such a great eyeglass and sunglass collection as well! We will be continuing to trust Advanced Rockford Eye Care for years to come!
I came in with my brother who has a disability. The entire staff accommodated his special needs and encouraged him every step of the way. This made all the difference! I am grateful that in every way, they went the extra mile to show him excellence and superb service. Thank you!
I have used Advanced Rockford Eye Care for my daughter that has a speech delay/sensory processing for the past 2 years. It is hit and miss. Some people are great with her and take the extra time she needs, then there are some who try to rush her through. I would hope if they continue to service children, they do some training on how to work with kids.
Doctor tried to give me a product that wasnt best for my needs. Office was confused about insurance and billing, unclear of the charges and billed me later. Terrible, uncomfortable, overpriced experience.***To elaborate:Was given a new brand of contacts that irritated my eyes and itched, then given an eye drop to alleviate the itchiness for my allergies (made no sense.) I demanded my old brand which they dont carry so I wasnt able to leave the office with any trials, as a result the Dr. never saw me in the brand I bought (old brand) to make sure they were working out and fit ok... still charged a fitting feeNurse that worked there seemed exasperated by my questions. I left confused about my prescription. Everyone seemed annoyed that I had further questions for the doctor and treated me like I was ridiculous and taking too much of their time. Felt belittled when I was surprised by the price of the new contact lens brand they suggested. They were over $900 for a years supply, I usually pay around $400.Trying to get my prescription was confusing and required many phone calls and two trips to the facility, its exactly the same as last year, I think they just printed me the old prescription as the date is from last year Called to clarify they said its good for a full year and it should be just fine to order. To my surprise I got a phone call last week from a lady at the office telling me my prescription was ready for pick up. (I already ordered a years worth of contacts over three weeks ago online.)Wasnt really going to write a review but to add insult to injury, after this terrible, belittling and confusing experience I received a bill yesterday. They forgot to check if they take my insurance, they dont. The total charges for contact lens EXAM ONLY:$80.00 fitting fee (Paid that day)$30.00 eye scans (Paid that day, they said absolutely required)$185.00 eye exam (got a bill because they dont take my insurance)$295.00 TOTALAfter a phone call the office manager took 20% off the exam price for paying out of pocket. So I only owe $148 for the exam but I had to ask for it. Ug.***Later took my kid to a place on East State where they were wonderful$119.00 for exam and fitting fee total$19.99 for the OPTIONAL eye scans (they said you can opt out)
This is the worst place I’ve ever been to for an eye exam. They want to make money off you. They don’t care about ur eye health. They do procedures without telling you it’s an additional cost. My mom has had five appointments more to try and get the correct prescription. I haven’t heard of anyone leaving there without an eye mask you don’t need or spending over 1000$. They only carry one brand of contacts and don’t allow you to use that prescription to get previous brands you like better. I’m very frustrated and upset with this place. I’ll never recommend them to anyone. All these 5 star reviews are probably robots.
The staff there are very welcoming and always so kind to us. My whole family goes to see Dr. King for our eye exams. I have ages from 6, 7, and 17. I have two children that have difficult glasses. Dr. King is treating Myopia with retainer contacts called ortho K lens that correct her vision at night so that she needs no correction during the day. My 7 year old is being treated for Amblyopia. The care we get with this team is just amazing and always thorough! We are great full for the team at Advanced Rockford Eye Care! They can treat a wide range of treatments . Highly recommend!
I have been a patient of Advanced Rockford Eye Care for a number of years seen by Dr King, Dr Ramirez, and staff and have had nothing but very good experiences with every visit. With an unusually challenging eye impairment requiring unique testing and documentation for my career, Advanced Rockford Eye Care has always taken the necessary steps to meet my eye care requirements. Also, Dr Ramirez exceeds these requirements with the unusual fitting of my contact to ensure the best attainable vision. I definitely recommend Advanced Rockford Eye Care for quality eye care.
*** BEWARE OF UPSALES & CHARGE MANIPULATION ***The place is nice and the staff friendly - but from the initial visit, they try to sale you things they recommend and charge you for things that they know your insurance will not cover. My issue began when the Dr. suggested I try contacts. I have never worn contacts due to my astigmatism. She explained that contacts had come a long way and that they are much more comfortable now. She said I could try them on under no obligation. I tried them, did not like them so I did not keep them. Still, I was charged $75 for the fitting. I always go in with a summary of benefits my insurance covers AND they can also pull that in their system, so I was fine selecting the anti-reflective coating because my insurance covered it. To my surprise, 6 months after my visit (when I conveniently cannot take them back) I get a bill which includes $113.40 for the coating. When I called to ask about that, I was told that they submitted it to my insurance and they did not know why it was denied. I called my insurance and they explained that there are different Tiers of anti-reflective coating: 1 through 5. The insurance covers 1-4 but not 5, which is considered non-formulary. Knowing this, the staff member selected Tier 5. I dont know how much of a difference there is between Tiers 4 and 5, but Im pretty sure I could live with 4. Again, had I noticed this within 90 days of my visit, I could have returned my glasses, but as I said, Im getting the bill 6 months later and by the way, as over 30 days past due. Then, I was offered thinner lenses but once again, I was not explained the different tiers and the one selected was NOT the lowest one. Due to their lack of transparency and charge manipulation, I will NOT be going back there again and will not recommend it to anyone.
My husband (Dirk Klein) had his eye exam today. He was treated in a very kind & caring manner in performing his exam by the eye doctor & expert staff members. He has cognitive and physical issues, but he was tested in a very calm and expert manner without causing him any discomfort or uneasiness. I would recommend Advanced Rockford Eye Care to anyone who needs expert eye care.
Advanced Eye Care regardless of the pandemic has always been a very friendly professional atmosphere. They have taken measures to make everyone feel safe and comfortable during this time. The staff is always welcoming. Dr King’s exams are top notch and has pointed out a few things needing attention with my eyes that no one has ever done. Highly recommended!
Doctors I have seen there are very knowledgeable. I have been tested for things no other doctor has tested for like dry eye. I was very disappointed however that they charge you $35!!!! to give you your pupillary distance which is part of your prescription. I would never recommend them based on this. They seem to want to make as much money off their patients as possible. Sad really.
I was able to get in for an appointment sooner than my regular eye doctor when they had a cancelation. The place is a very nice place. Very clean and modern. The staff was very friendly. The doctor was very nice, and very thorough. I didnt see any of their selection of frames due to my needing cataract surgery, but they made the referral to the eye surgeon for me, and the surgeons office called me the next day to make an appointment for me. If I did need to get glasses there, Im sure they would have a great selection. If I need any further exams through an eye doctor, I would go there, even though its farther than my current eye doctors office. Highly recommend Advanced Rockford Eye Care.
Had eye emergency got me in same day. Was nice to go to place where you felt people actually cares and cares about your health and not making money. The staff and doctor was all amazing. And they also have nice deals if you don’t have insurance good packages. I will recommend them to everyone.
Nothing short of wonderful experience! Kind, patient and compassionate, they really listen to your concerns and help you get the best vision possible. I came here for scleral lenses since I had LASIK over 2 decades ago. The first rx we got is good and they’re tweaking it a bit and ordering a new pair to really dial in for my needs. If you have specialty vision needs, this is the place to go.
This is a great place to go to check your eyes,i had been a client fo Advance Eye Care for a while and i highly recommended, staff is very helpful and nice, professional.my location is on the corner of N Mulford and Riverside. Dr King checked my eyes this morning, she mafe sure the accident i had last week pertaining my left eye, everything was fibe, she put some dye in the eye to look in deeper for any further damage and she explained the process and what she was looking for, very satisfied with the test this morning.
Amazing! I have been going here for three years now and I have loved every experience. I have dry eye, and Dr. King has been treating it and Ive seen such a big improvement. Also, the team is so sweet and was able to answer any questions I had. They also helped me pick out the perfect pair of Tom Ford glasses which are amazing. Highly recommend!
A very professional office and staff. Conscientious about following covid rules - masks, hand washing upon entering, no touching of frames without assistance. As a new contact wearer, they were very helpful to insure my contacts were right for me and to show me how to use them.
Dr Ramirez and the staff at Advanced Rockford Eye Care treated me professionally and with courteous respect for my unique issues. They went beyond simply going through the mechanics of a routine eye exam, and sought to determine the nuances of my vision and proposed workable solutions to the problems that prevent my vision from being as good as it can be.
I have been going here for years and never have a problem with the eye exam or doctors- Both we have seen have been excellent and I would give them 5 stars. I typically do not order glasses from here as Target optical usually has better prices for Ray Ban frames and my boys tend to lean towards those styles. This year prior to our appointment we had priced Target for a complete pair and chosen frames. After our appointment we were presented with the option of looking at frames and my 8 year old saw the same frame. I asked for the price of the complete pair and was quoted $149 with 1 year protection. This ended up being about $50 cheaper than Target so excitedly I took them up on ordering frames and lenses. I paid and not until I got home did I realize I was charged $60 more for the kids package than I was quoted several times (we had 3 exams and a contact fitting all paid for at once otherwise I would had noticed the difference immediately). I realize this is my mistake that I should have looked closer at the receipt and not taken her word for it but by the time we were here at the ordering stage I had been in the office for several hours with an 11 and 8 year old. I clarified with her several times the price as my son was ONLY looking at Ray Bans. When I realized the price error I called and basically told we are sorry we have 3 different childrens price packages (3! - she only ever told me the one price). I was given the option of coming in and exchanging for a cheap pair hidden on the wall in a corner (this is apparently the only $149 dollar packages and my son NEVER was even looking here) but no option of a refund ( I havent picked up the glasses yet). This will be my last pair of glasses ordered here for myself or two children.
I had a last minute appointment come up on the day of the original appointment scheduled for my kids. They were polite and rescheduled in the same week. The appointment went great with no wait time. I do not think the retinal exam should be mandatory though, as it’s $35 and I’ve never had to do one with them before. I understand policies change, but if it is not mandatory for every office as a regulation, state or medical, then it should remain optional.
I first came here at the beginning of December and the contacts they prescribed me were blurry so I called to come back in. I came back in at the beginning of January and they informed me they only had one of the correct contacts for me (the right contact) and I needed to make another appointment once the other contact came in (for my left eye) and it would be 2-3 days for that. After a few days of not hearing back I gave them a call and they said the contact sample was not in yet and they would call me when it was. 2 weeks go by since my appointment so I decide to call them. They inform me the sample is in and setup an appointment for me (were they ever going to call me?)I came today for my “appointment” and they seemed confused to why I was there. I could then overhear them talking about how I wasn’t on the books and they must have “forgotten”. That felt super welcoming.I was taken to the room and they tried to give me a different prescription for both of my eyes even though the one for my right eye was correct. I had to explain this to them and they corrected it.Also, my first appointment they tried to upsell me pricey eye wash and a pricey eye mask. It just seemed super salesy and weird.I am giving two stars instead of one because the people I have interacted with have been personable and friendly. I’m just confused as to why all of these errors keep happening, especially for the cost of this place.
I’m changing my 5 star review from 6 years ago to a 1star review. I want an eye exam not a chance for you to make extra money off me. I’m already displeased with the mandatory $35 retina scan. It should be my choice to purchase something. During my eye exam and contact fitting I was told that they were gonna try a new lens which was supposed to help with reading phone and computer screens. What I later learned is that this is a way to get me into bifocal lenses which cost more. Because I was fitted for bifocal lenses it bumped up my insurance category causing me to have to pay more. I didn’t discover this till after the exam when I was at the reception desk. On top of that I was originally going to be charged over $100. I told her that wasn’t right so she “checked” the numbers and realized it was going to be $65. The other irritating part about this visit was in trying to sell me a $75 a mask to help with dry eyes on top of a $45 cleaning solution to clean my eyelashes. I will now be Looking for another eyecare specialist. My insurance has not changed and what used to be an eye exam that was covered 100% by my insurance almost wound up costing me $250+
TERRIBLE!!! My exam went fine, people were polite enough. I was told that I need progressive lenses, not surprised. Also mentioned that as you get older, people tend to have dry eye, didnt think much of it because Ive never had a problem with this. Tried to sell me $75 goggles to help w/ dry eye, I declined. Was told that AFTER insurance, my lenses would be over $300 and that my insurance covered most of the frame. I said no thank you, was told my visit was $35 so I paid and left w my RX in hand. TWO weeks later, I receive a bill for $218!!!! After THREE phone calls and continually being told that the office mgr would call me back, (she did not), I was told that they billed my HEALTH insurance and they did not pay??????? Said my diagnosis was dry eye!! WHAT????? They refused to bill my Vision insurance for the exam!!! Needless to say, I let them know that I was not happy and that this was a very poor way to conduct business etc. So I was told that they would check into it and call me back. Called me back about an hour later and said Weve billed your vision insurance and your bill is $20. Ummmmmm does this sound like an honest business practice????? Ended up going to Eyecare Express on Perryville and had a wonderful experience!!! I purchased one pair of glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses for $159 after insurance. They did not even require me to have another exam. Simply gave them my RX and was in and out in an hour. SHOP around!! These people are horribly dishonest!! I cant imagine how many people have been scammed out of hundreds of dollars by this practice!!!
This will be my last visit to this place. Had my eye exam. They did the retinal scan without asking and charged me the $35 extra for it as well. Then my daughter went there last summer and they wanted to do a treatment to help her eyes. It cost $1000 and said it wasn’t covered by insurance. I bit. I paid the $1000 but they kept charging me at follow up even though they said I wouldn’t get charged extra. On top of that, they charged my medical insurance so they got money from them too. I smell insurance fraud in the mix. They charge too much to begin with and then throw in all these extra charges. I’m done.
We had cancelled my appointment to check my corneal abrasion because my eye was feeling much better, and I also did not feel comfortable with one of the workers who were checking my eye. For some odd reason she wanted to get things done very very quickly, she wasn’t patient at ALL, and to an extent she raised her voice, and had a little attitude when asking me questions about my eye.I also found it weird that me being a minor, my parents were not able to be with me during the questionings and during the time they were working with my eye. Dr. Ramirez seemed nice to me, she was very patient, and she seemed very understanding.Later My mother had missed a call from them, and she called back a minute after, and they were asking her if she had any appointments. She said “no, but I had missed a call from you.” And they just hung up on her, I’m glad I cancelled and glad I never came back.To the four eyed blonde with the accent, please be more patient with patients, especially when they are in pain, they can’t think normally when they are in discomfort. you DO NOT need to add to that. I’ll never come back here, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone to come here.
Excellent care and knowledgeable staff. Dr King is very understanding andhelpful. She is able to determine the correct solution for your vision issues. Everyone is very kind and friendly. My husband and I will continue receiving our checkups here. Staff is also willing to find the best fit for eyewear.
The staff is fantastic. Immediately upon entering the office I felt safe. The clinic took special precautions to ensure social distancing and good hygiene practices. I’ve had my vision corrected for twenty years and never experienced a more thorough and detail oriented exam. I did not feel hurried on the contrary I felt impressed by the warmness and expertises of the staff. The examiners took specific time to explain to me what they were doing and why they were doing it. It’s my favorite Eyecare center now and I recommend it to everyone.
I misunderstood the appointment time over the phone; got there 15 minutes late. Took a 1/2 day off work and we live outside of Rockford so a good 30 minutes away. Got there, checked us in and came back to say we had to reschedule. This was for my 3yr old son who has an issue with one eye so it was important. Very unprofessional to not have a 15 minute window. They just lost 4 customers, myself, husband and kids.
BEWARE! I went to purchase soft contacts for my son and they said my son needed $4,500 dollar hard/soft contacts. When I told them I could not afford that they said that he needed custom contacts for $1,500 so I purchased them that day. They told me that he would need several fittings to get the fit correct and after several appointments (an entire year) letting them know he could not wear the contacts for more than a few hours because they would cause his eyes to get red and very irritated they continued taking measurements and making different suggestions but nothing seemed to work. After a year of many appointments and no wearable contact lenses one of the doctors suggested my son purchase soft contact lenses which I did for another $260 every 6 months plus the $70 fitting fee and extra charges and now they are telling me that they will not refund any of the $1500 I paid for contacts that did not work. He went an entire year with no contacts. I spoke to Kylie who is the admin and she stated that this is like any medical procedure/equipment and if it doesnt work they will not refund the money. I asked her if I would of paid the $4,500 they asked for they would not have refunded that either and she said no. Thankfully I did not do that. I have tried to negotiate with this office to get only a part of it back and they refuse even though they know its not our fault. Now I will have to obtain an attorney to try to get some of my money back because this business is not ethical and only cares about their bottom line not their customers. Do not let them upsell you on any products because if it doesnt work for you they will keep your money and you will have no contacts. It saddens me that this place is so amoral.
My grandpa is very dissatisfied with the service received here. He bought glasses from this business and was immediately unhappy with the fit and the blurriness he was experiencing. He called right away and was told to give his eyes time to adjust. He called again 3 weeks later since there was no improvement. Again, he was told his eyes need some more time to adjust. He waited a couple more weeks and called back. There was no answer, so he left a voicemail. This happened 3 more times over the next few weeks and they never returned his call. He finally got ahold of them today and was told it’s too late to do anything because it’s been over 2 months.
I will never go to Advances Rockford Eye Care again. When I scheduled the appointment they informed me they require a retinal eye scan that insurance doesn’t cover for $35. I agreed to pay that fee. I confirmed when I was there this is their requirement not all eye doctors. I waited 45 minutes before I even saw the dr. I told them I would not be purchasing contacts from them only glasses but needed the contact prescription as I order online. They were very pushy and tried to get me to purchase from them telling me they didn’t have Hubble contacts to fit me with. I just need a rx not a fitting. They require a contact fitting which is another $60 not covered by insurance. The fitting consisted of the assistant bringing me samples to put in and read a line of letters. The dr never came back in no one looked at my eyes. I told the assistant the right eye didn’t feel good and the line was blurry. I was also informed that I have dry eyes found from the scan they charge you for and that it was considered a medical condition and had to be submitted to my health insurance and would be another $45 copay! I was not prescribed anything for my dry eyes. And the copay was higher than normal because they are considered a specialist! No wonder they require the scan so they can submit claims to your health insurance and get additional payouts not only from vision insurance. I paid an additional $105 I did not plan on paying when I walked into that office and was there for 90 minutes! I paid them $60 to watch me put in contacts and another $45 because I have dry eyes! Please be aware of hidden costs you will pay if you go here. I have worn contacts over 20 years and have never paid these extra fees.
The doctors and staff are nice but the prices seem pretty unreasonable. We had an appointment for our 6 year boy and the cost for an eye exam and reading glasses was over $650. They seem to want to up sell on everything so it’s hard to know what they are recommending for a medical purpose and what’s just to get more money.
Check in was easy and very short wait time with an appointment. They use state of the art exam equipment and are very thorough. I felt confident they found no other eye disorders or disease and had great piece of mind. Picking out frames was easy with lots to choose from. I really like they are open and honest with what your insurance plan covers and are up front with costs. No surprises at check out. Very streamlined process to get you in and out without wasting alot of your time.
The staff seem competent and most of them were polite and professional. However, every single time I go here if I don’t order contacts with them at the end of my visit they get extremely rude and short with me. Other people in my family have experienced the same thing. It happens every single time I go here and it’s very frustrating to deal with-especially because I just graduated college and have no money because finding a job in the middle of a pandemic has kept me from a steady income and I know so many others are dealing with the same thing. I need to price match other places in the are to make sure I’m getting the best deal. I understand you’re a business but be professional. I would be happy going someplace else for my next eye appointment.
Dr. King has helped me to be able to wear contacts! With my chronic dry eye she has helped me by using the latest IPL treatment. Not only has IPL treated my dry eye but has also treated my rosacea so now I don’t have to wear foundation anymore! Overall, it is always a wonderful experience at Advanced Rockford Eye Care. Dr. King and her team are very kind and knowledgeable.
My experience at Advanced Rockford Eye Care today was very good!!! They performed some great testing of my eyes and all their employees were very professional. Dr. Ramirez did a great job dilating my eyes and looking for possible damage behind my eyes!!! I was in and out of their office in record time and am very grateful to have found them to take care of my eyes! I will definitely be back and I highly recommend them if you are looking for any type of eye care!!! Thank you all very much. They even repaired my broken pair of glasses and Im grateful to have a backup set now!!!
Being a diesel and automotive mechanic and welding i depend on my eyes and with all the elements I am hard on my eyes all the time with lights, dust debris and so fourth. I happen to have a slight eye issue with foreign material in my eye and Advance Rockford Eye Care worked with me and gave me eye drops to help me situation to clear my eyes up. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly, clean facility and I love the thorough job they do in testing my vision. I am glad I switch to Advance eye care from my old eye facility.
I honestly love going here. They always have a smile on there face. They make sure that all of their patients are taken care of and comfortable at all times. I reccomend going here for any eye treatment/care. Everyone is so welcoming. I have been going here for awhile and I love it. My family goes here too.
After a 90 minute exam, I was told that I have dry eyes and would benefitfrom a $50 solution I could apply to my eyelids. I knew that I had dry eyes.Did any other problems present themselves in my exam? Dont know, wasnt told, but was told I should come back in two weeks for a check upand the charge was $124.54. I guess I expected to be told of any OTHERtypes of problems that would be a concern. I wouldnt give five starsfor telling me something I already know..
Dr. Dungan was straight to the point with my sons exam. This is the second time weve seen her, and both really like her.Unfortunately my 3 year old also had to come this time. The assistants kept him busy which was completely unexpected, and fantastic. It was much needed. The only issue I had was with the woman in sales. She wasnt the friendliest. She wasnt very clear with packages, and which frames were included. She didnt show us where the frames were, just the back corner. The doctor suggested transition lenses, and they werent discussed or offered. I assume she didnt offer these things based on the fact that we used Medicaid for the exam. Very wrong to assume things. I never put a budget on corrective lenses (Ive worn them for 25 years, and understand how important they are). If I had to spend $400 on my sons glasses yesterday it wouldnt have been an issue.Sales irritated me, but overall experience was great. The nurses are awesome, and very personable, especially with my kids. This has been a pretty consistent experience for us.
I stopped in to Advanced Rockford Eye Care today for an eye exam and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The exam was easy yet thorough and I felt well taken care of. They helped me figure out exactly what I needed and even ordered it while I was there! I will definitely be back in the future :)
Very very disappointed. Ive been coming here few years. This year, I go and get new frames for my son and new glasses for my self. Prescriptions are ordered and I am given googles and tea tree to wash my eyes with. As we sit down to discuss lenses and contacts, I am given the grand total of $318. For everything, I asked again if the bag with the googles and tea tree was included the lady said yes. Unfortunately I didnt bother looking at the receipt. My mistake. As I check in today to try on my contacts. I am told I have a $140 balance that needs to be paid because I walked out with products. Accidentally, the googles were charged to my insurance and now it came back to me. Even though they knew no insurance pays for this. I would have said no from the beginning if I were told these were not in my balance and they costed that much. Also, here trying on contacts since 1150 a and ive been checked on but no assistance on trying them on and I am struggling big time! Until my sons glasses arrive, I am not planning to come back again.Edit:Another girl walked in and did amazing showing me how I have to do it. Maybe they all can learn from her? Wish I had asked her name
Had a really great experience. The staff is very nice and friendly. My wife and I were having trouble choosing a pair of glasses and the young girl that helped us (Rebecca) really took her time and gave us an honest opinion and made choosing our glasses a piece of cake. I recommend Advance Rockford Eye Care they have a great selection to choose from.
My whole family (myself, husband and 3 children) have all had our eye exams at Advanced Rockford Eye Care, and have all purchased glasses there. The Doctors are fabulous, the eye wear range is excellent (my kids love their glasses...one chose a sporty pair, one a classic pair, and one a modern style) and the staff are all knowledgeable, friendly and helped me to understand exactly what my insurance did & didnt cover and how much Id be out of pocket. I highly recommend trusting Advanced Rockford Eye Care with your vision health!
Great location, with an excellent selection of frames and sunglasses (designer and otherwise). The office is clean and neat, the staff is friendly and attentive, and Dr. King is very knowledgeable and professional while at the same time extremely approachable. Every time I have been in for an exam, I have not been kept waiting, and my appointment runs on time. The office has all the latest technology available (even child-friendly technology that makes eye exams fun!). In between exams, we order our contact lenses through Advanced Rockford Eye Care, and the turn-around time is really fast as well.Highly recommended!!
They dont even deserve a star, but left me no option. My husband, son and myself all went here early in the year and all of us have had problems with our prescriptions. We decided to go somewhere else for a second opinion (Primary Eye Care) and Advanced Rockford Eye Care misdiagnosed my husbands astigmatism and under powered his Rx. My son is wearing the right eye script for his contacts in both eyes because he cant see with the left script they gave him, even though he told Advanced Eye Care he couldnt see; he was ignored. My script isnt correct either, under powered as well. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone as they dont listen when you tell them whats not correct and the staff isnt friendly. To the owner who replied, let me clarify. When we told them that the contact and Rx for lenses were not correct, we were told that they were and to give it time. That is not thorough. All of our eyes did not miraculously change. It took my husband a longer time to receive a second opinion because of Covid-19 closing down businesses, not because his eyes changed. As far as staff being professional, I disagree. I work healthcare and they are not. Thank you for your reply, though it doesnt change our views.
Rude nurses, rude customer service. Especially the blonde with the accent. She needs to calm down and be patient, when asking a patient who is clearly in pain questions. There is absolutely NO need to raise your voice and ask with a bad attitude. The doctor was nice though.
THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! My insurance switched, so I had to try out Advanced Rockford Eyecare. They were immediately rude and pushy. I then tried ordering glasses. They were overpriced and not completely covered by my insurance. I ended up ordering the glasses anyway, and they told me they would be in 10-14 days later. As of the 14th they still didn’t have them in. I called and they told me to come pick them up, but when I got there they actually were not still in. There is no order and a lot of miscommunication from the staff. I am super disappointed, and I will be going back to Value Eyewear even though it is not covered on my insurance.
We have been patients for 12 years along with our 4 children. Two of our children have had extreme vision problems and are very happy with their care. We are over 50 and have had a few health issues that required extra eye care. We are very happy. When we first came to Dr. King, we were looking for a professional with a positive attitude and a nice staff. We highly recommend Advanced Rockford Eye Care and Dr. King!
Horrible experience!! I waited 2 1/2 hours to get in, see doctor. Only took 10 minutes to pick out glasses. They called me to inform me of the appointment I never made and lied to me when I asked about it. They messed up on my glasses and then told me to wear them for a week to get use to them. I returned the glasses and then they checked, oops wrong prescription in both lenses. BEWARE!!!!
I have had a great experience with Dr King and her staff. I am so glad someone recommended I try it. The last place I was going I was spending $87 PER MONTH on contacts alone, and once I went to Dr King she had me try some new contacts and its about $300 for a year- amazing! She is super friendly and she has some really nice staff as well. VERY VERY happy that I started going and would highly recommend it.
If you can get past the front reception, the rest of the experience at this office was very pleasant. The Dr and her assistant were more than helpful with me and my 5 year old. However, walking in will automatically put you in an awful mood. Front desk issues almost had me walk out of this place.Haven’t gotten glasses to verify how their product is an also hoping they didn’t mess up our insurance with the wrong last name, ssn, and whatever else they couldn’t figure out. Will return for glasses, don’t know about future care.
I just found out that I had a $45 bill from four years ago that has been in collections for years without me knowing. I was told I was sent statements, but no phone call was ever made and I had no idea now my credit has been hurt over $45. I also did not buy glasses from them and got a regular exam and this should have been covered by my insurance, but based on the comments below theres nothing I can do to get any money back or fix YEARS worth of damage to my credit. Might as well not risk it if you ask me. Plenty of other eye doctors in the area.
When I first walked in I got the impression I was bothering the ladies at the front desk. After my exam i picked out a pair of frames. They told me that my insurance only covered $430 for the frames and lenses and that I would have to pay an additional $289 out of pocket. I explain to them that I had a supplemental insurance and that they could bill them for the remaining balance. They were not willing to do so, they wanted the balance upfront yet I would have to wait 7 to 10 days before I get the glasses. They were not willing to work with me, most of the staff was rude.
Exceptional patient care. I’ve been a very happy patient for over 8 years. Dr. King diagnosed a medical condition that was overlooked by 3 specialists. She uses state of the art diagnostic equipment that you don’t see in many other practices. No all practices are the same-do yourself and your vision a favor-see these very talented providers.
I generally appreciate the services and care when treated at Advanced Rockford Eye Care. Dr King is an excellent professional and is in my Humana PPO network. So after my first cataract surgery I was examined by her and the bill was paid in full by Humana PPO.However after my second cataract surgery I was treated by another competent optometrist, at the same location, BUT I was not told that this OD was not part of the network and now have to pay an extra unbudgeted amount.I should have been informed of this situation and I await resolution by Advanced Rockford Eye Care.
Had an eye exam with this practice in March and at the time thought I had paid more than I should have. Well, I was right. I was billed for a service my insurance covered and the money was never refunded to me. 9 months later I received a bill for another service which should have been covered by my medical insurance and they were nice enough to credit the overage to my account. (What would have happened if I had not had this new bill? Because I sure dont plan on going back!)I purchased contact lenses through the office at the time of my exam and when I discovered that they irritated my eyes to the point where I could not even wear them for a full work day, I attempted to return the unopened boxes to the office for a refund or exchange. I was told that this was not allowed. I spoke to the office manager and the billing manager today and was told there was a note in my file stating that I could have returned the original lenses but I had not replied. (I brought the lenses with me to return when I went back in to get a follow-up exam to see about different lenses so I am calling BS here.)To top everything off, when I received my new 9 month old billing statement (which showed that it was 30 days past due already even though it had just generated) I received a billing statement showing services for another client as well which is a pretty big HIPAA violation. All in all even if this is the only practice that accepts your vision plan it might be better to go elsewhere.
Dr. King and staff provide great service! I felt very comfortable and well taken care of and my child was also at ease during the exam. They answered all my questions and were patient with me and my child. Advanced Rockford Eye Care has a great selection of current, modern frames and sunglasses.
Advanced Rockford Eye Care is THE place to go for all of your eye wear needs. Back-to-school exams, new frames and lenses, contacts, or any issues involving eye health. Plus they have opened a new office on the corner of Mulford and Riverside in Rockford! The last time I was there to get new glasses and an exam, I was treated with the utmost respect and allowed to take the time needed to choose the frames that suited me best, plus they have such a large variety to choose from. The staff is very knowledgeable in eye care, frames and styles and are always ready to give you their full attention to assist with your needs.Dr. King has a wonderful way of making you feel comfortable during the eye exam and is quite wise regarding the entire scope of her practice answering any questions you may have.Stop by either location soon and SEE what you are missing!I did and I am thankful!
The doctor I had was very nice and explained everything very well. The glasses tech (I think they are called that) lied straight to my face about not being able to use my old frames to put the new lenses in. I went to two different glasses places to get a 2nd opinion and they told me that they could use my old frames. The glasses tech talked to me like I was stupid.
I needed to get my son in for what looked like pink eye and they were able to see him right away. Everyone was so friendly and professional. Laura, the technician that helped my son, was so down to earth and helpful. Dr King was awesome. I strongly recommend Advanced Rockford Eyecare.
I really like Dr Dungan and most of the staff. But when I went to get my daughter’s new prescription this week: I was there 1.5 hours. I didn’t mind much because there was a training doctor in and she was very nice and thorough also. But when I went to leave, I realized they never printed out the script. I asked the receptionist and she said they were very busy so she couldn’t ask the doctor for it and couldn’t print it because the doctor had to close out the program or something. She said I would have to come back the next day. I asked if they could email or fax it to me and she said No, I had to come back. I can’t help that they are busy. I had an appointment, arrived at least 5 minutes early, did my part. I shouldn’t be asked to drive there twice for the one thing I spent my entire afternoon getting.
I was looking for a new eye dr for my 9 year old daughter who was recently diagnosed with a lazy eye. Dr king was great with her and very knowledgable. My whole family goes now and I also like their selection of frames and their staff is great at helping you pick out the right pair! We have also seen the new Dr and was just as impressed with her. Recommend them to everyone.
I went once and they prescribed me contacts that only they carried. They would not give me an alternative to purchase elsewhere or compare prices. They then made an annual exam appointment and left me a voicemail that I needed to come and if I didnt cancel or reschedule they would charge me $25. $25 fee for missing an appointment I never made. Well thats a good way to make money, just charge people for doing nothing!
5 for the doctors, 1 for the office staffI was really impressed with my visit for my prescription, I have an exceptionally difficult prescription, and she did an awesome job. At the same time, in the same vein as the last time I reviewed this place, NO ONE CALLED to confirm that I had an appointment until two days before I got a text!!!I went in for new frames and had a positive experience. Then my toddler broke the frames. They were under warranty so I went in to get new ones. The optician that day was great and went out of her way to get me the last set of these frames in the warehouse. When they arrived the nightmare began. The optician there that day forced my lenses out of the old frames and into the new ones and they did not fit. As a result she badly curved the right lens and badly fractured both lenses and didnt even notice. She was content to send me home with damaged goods! My prescription is severe and lenses cost around $600+ for me. The level of carlessness was astounding. After all was said and done they shipped the frames back to have new lenses made for them. Then after 15 days (of bad vision, headaches and concern Id fail my vision test at the DMV) I call to check on the glasses. Turn around time is supposed to be 7-10. Oh! They are here!No one called me!
Everyone who I saw today was amazing. Dr. King took the time to explain everything. Had a regular eye appointment somewhere else and they found something unusual. Came and saw Dr. King. Was in the office for almost 2 hours and ran tons of test. All which came out good. Really helped ease my mind. I didn’t feel blown off of ignored. Would recommend this office to everyone!
The staff is friendly enough and the office is clean. I spent $500 on a exam and basic pair of glasses. They told me it would take 5-8 business days, it took a month. I took my prescription from them and tried to order contacts from Walgreens, they denied it saying it was a different brand than I tried on from them. WHat difference does that make? They funneled the order back through them. Would never go there again.
A couple weeks back, I called with a vision concern as a first time patient and was asked to come in that same day. I paid for the extra tests and I am thankful I did. They found the cause of my issues and will be monitoring me regularly. It felt good knowing I was being treated so promptly and professionally!
I would give a 0 if I could. Please look at all the 1 star reviews!!! The hassle with this place started immediately when they failed to let me know they dropped my insurance carrier prior to my appointment, leaving me to pay out of pocket for eye exams for both my daughter and I which was well over $300. My daughter had an eye exam done prior to entering school in the fall but switched schools mid-year so we needed a copy of this record for the new school. When my husband went to go get record of this he was told the prescription was expired and they would not give him a copy. There was never a prescription, just a simple eye exam!!! The receptionist at the Riverside location was extremely rude (I overheard the entire conversation while on the phone with my husband). Now we are stuck getting yet another eye exam because they wouldnt give us a piece of paper. I have worked in healthcare for 15+ years and know that it is 100% illegal to not allow a patient access to their own medical record. I nor my husband have ever been treated so unprofessionally. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
I am always happy with the service I receive at Advanced Rockford Eye Care. The staff are very helpful and courteous. Dr. King is patient and thorough, and you never feel rushed. The staff takes care of everything insurance-related so you dont have to; and I like the e-mail reminders and newsletters. This may be a small thing, but instead of the awful puff-in-the-eye glaucoma test, she uses a different tool; you cant even feel it. That makes a childs experience much easier!Update: Last time I went in, they had a sheet attached to my sign-in sheets explaining what insurance would cover that session. That was so nice...some of us cant remember or need to see it so we understand it.
I have been going to Dr. King for about the last 7yrs. I prefer going there because Dr. King has the knowledge and experience that Im looking for, very professional service. Everyone that I have met there is super nice and customer service is excellent. They also carry the best brands possible every time I have been looking for glasses either regular or sunglasses. They have a very large selection. My experience has always been very enjoyable. Highly recommended!!
Everyone here is really nice. Got here about 10 mins early and still were able to get me in almost right away. Dr King was patient, went over everything, and even tried to get me in a new trial pair of contacts that night. Sadly my eyes are really bad and they had to order a new pair for me. They took care of all the insurance for me. You can even schedule your appointment online and get reminder text messages and emails. I will definitely be coming back again.
I had a situation where I needed contacts quickly, It will be about 2 weeks to get contacts in after my exam, and then if has been difficult get an appointment to actually pick them up even when the staff new I was desperate to get new lenses. They are not able to schedule me for 2 days to get the lenses, again knowing I needed them.
I didnt hire Dr. King as my eye doc simply because she is born and reared in Rockford and decided to stay here to live and operate her business, nor because she is daring enough to open her own business nor because her business has become successful enough to have a need to open another office in Rockford but I chose her for her high intelligence in the field she has chosen and has made a difference to all of her patients for the better. I am lucky to have her as she is reliable, a smart businesswoman and has selected a staff more superior to any of this kind.
Super pleased!!! I had an outside prescription and opted to return to Advanced Rockford Eye Care as I was pleased with the last pair of frames and lenses that I had gotten there for years ago. I stopped in on July 11th, thinking that I would order my new specs that day. I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and looked around. Sherri came to assist in my selection and I made a tentative choice. The reason I indicate that it was a tentative choice is that Sherri kindly informed me that Advanced Rockford Eye Care was hosting a Back to School event the following Wednesday where prices would be cut in half! I jumped at that as I have a very strong prescription and I expected to pay beaucoup bucks. So I asked my very good friend to meet me at Advanced Rockford Eye Care the following Wednesday when the store opened. Sherri and her co-worker, along with my good friend helped me to select not one, but two pairs of glasses! It was so much fun to have three knowledgeable individuals help me select the two pairs of glasses! One for everyday and the other with transition lenses for when I am outside gardening or on walks. I am really looking forward to picking the new glasses up very soon and enjoying my new looks! Plus, I saved a lot on these!!! Thanks, Sherri and to Advanced Rockford Eye Care!!!
I have been a patient for many years and this year I noticed a change in service and customer satisfaction. I was fitted for contacts and felt as though it was bothersome to the staff to even have me try them on in the office. They said to take them home each time and see how they fit. After three different changes of lenses and optics, I finally went back to my old set. I also ordered glasses on July 25, 2014 and paid that day. As of August 25th I still had not received them after three requests for them to see where they were. I canceled my eye glass order on August 26th and asked for a refund of my money and have yet to see it as of September 3, 2014. The staff also stated that Dr. King would probably call me concerning my displeasure, but that has not occurred. It is sad when customer service is diminished and the owner of the company either does not know or doesnt care.
Not a fan of this place. Went in to get contacts and gave me a trial pair that I told them I couldnt see out of. Kept getting, Oh, they will clear up just give them time. Well 3 days and still blurry. Went back and they literally gave me same prescription! There were like try this. Same result. Showed them my old prescription and they kept arguing with me that it is wrong!!! I saw clearly out of old pair. Bunch of empty promises. They went ahead and ordered the blurry pair against my insurance so now Im stuck with them and cant go anywhere else for a whole year under my insurance. Do not recommend. Go somewhere else.
Everyone is so nice here! And Dr.King is very thorough. I love that Dr. King has always thought of the environment with her building materials and bags! This place is professional with great service. Ive been going since the first office opened and always recommend them to others.
This location is a joke. I went ONE YEAR ago and wanted to post this review, but i put it off. Here I am now, trying to order contacts through 1800-CONTACTS, and this location will not give my prescription information to 1800CONTACTS. Why not? Im definitely not buying my contacts through you, rockford. Your customer service is stern and unprofessional, and you made me feel uncomfortable as a customer. You kept pushing me into buying a more expensive brand of glasses, and you NEVER told me the price on anything. Imagine my anger when i was hit with an unexpected $400 charge. I couldve gotten my glasses at Wal-mart for $40, and let me tell you, there is no difference in their customer service and yours. And can you tell me why you never once asked me if I have eye insurance?Heres some advice for everything you didnt do as a professional location: Greet your customers. Smile to them. Ask them if they have insurance. Be pleasant during the eye exam. Be up front about costs, not deceitful. When 1800CONTACTS calls, give them the prescription because God knows Im not coming back to you to fill my prescription.Make your next customers experience amazing, because youre definitely not getting another chance from me.
I would give zero or even negative stars if possible. If the criteria was to have multiple appointments, take my money, insurance benefits, and provide me with glasses I cannot safely use, then they would get 5 stars. Please consider carefully before patronizing either Advanced Rockford Eyecare location.I first visited the Riverside office in August looking for new lenses. I already had a new prescription from another doctor, but didnt care for the selection of frames. Advanced Rockford Eyecare was in my network, so I thought Id give them a try. The staff was helpful and friendly (at first) and I received my glasses in less than a week.Unfortunately, my vision had not improved with the new lenses and I returned for a brief eye exam with Dr. Dungan (sp?) who found a small discrepancy from the previous doctors evaluation. I had another set of lenses made, and again received them in less than a week.My vision was worse with this second pair of glasses. I can only describe it as feeling like my eyes were slightly cross-eyed in all fields of vision. Needless to say, I was thoroughly disgusted. I have been wearing glasses my entire adult life (over 30 years now), and have never had any issues with getting new lenses that significantly improved my near and far vision. In November, I went to the Perryville office location and met with Dr. King. She and her staff verified that the lenses were made according to the prescription, and there was no reason given for why I was having problems. She wanted to dilate my eyes and do another full examination. My vision benefits were exhausted until August, 2017, so I would have had to pay the entire cost out of pocket. I declined.Subsequently, I went to my personal physician who did a brief exam and could find nothing concerning relating to the health of my eyes. I have no other medical conditions and take no medication that would affect my vision.I requested a full refund, and spoke with Kylie (not sure of her title or position). Her only suggestion was to return to the office and have a full eye examination done including dilation. Since my vision benefits were used in August, this would be totally out of pocket for me -- approximately $160. If yet another pair of lenses needed to be made, it would likewise be out of pocket, which would run in excess of $500.Maybe Im a little crazy, but would any reasonable person spend even more time and money on this business given what was described? I am hoping to save at least one person from having a similar experience.I can use my old glasses until my vision benefits or again eligible next August. I spent approximately $350-400 of my own money (not to mention any reimbursement they received from insurance) at Advanced Rockford Eyecare, and my only option now is small claims court. Maybe I would win, maybe I wouldnt. However, if even one person decides not to use this business because of my review, I will consider it a full refund.
Great people. Wonderful service. No long waits!!!Thorough and they are very patient while actually doing the exams. I would highly reccommend them to all my friends plus they give a military discount along with medicaire discount to boot!! Can’t speak any higher of them. Bought glass’s from them even though I can get them free through the VA.
Is the worst customer service i received , we took my son there for the eye exam then take the prescription to sams club to do the glass (they have better deal buy one get one free) then i asked the dr there if he can checked the glass which he was super nice then he checked my son in the eye chart then we find out my son see the same with or without the glass then he recommend me to let my son dr see my son with the glass and they offer for free to do any change in the glass , today i called the office to see my son to find out if they did the eye exam correct or not. they want to charge me , then i told them im willing to pay if the exam correct, but it is not they will handle it they refused and they said they will not see my son if i dont pay the visit , i dont understand which kind of place is that its ripoff
I would not recommend Advanced Rockford Eye Care. My lenses were broke but under warranty. They said they would order a pair of new frames. About 10 days later I call and ask if they are in yet. The response was The manufacturer said they sent us an e-mail saying we dont have that in stock anymore. It was wasted time because they missed the e-mail the manufacturer sent to them. Things happen. They have me come in and pick out a new pair of frames. I spend 30-40 minutes finding a pair. The person goes in the back and then back to me and says you cant have those they are $800. Then why show them to me? Arent they suppose to be the ones who know the prices? So I pick out another pair. I asked for a rush to be put on the order as I am having severe headaches with my old pair of glasses. Given what happened before with the e-mail I called last week to see if they were in and was given the response with the holidays it will take a bit longer. I will call YOU when they come in. A week and day later still no call. The average time to get glasses is 7-10 days. It is past that but giving 4 days or so for holidays we are at the time they should be in. What would have happened if there was no rush put on them? Im afraid to call and ask them to call the manufacturer.

2022-07-27We have taken my son to Advanced Rockford Eye Care for the last two eye exams. Both times we have had great experiences. The staff is kind, friendly, very thorough, and patient with young children. When being fitted for glasses I felt confident that the technician was giving us the best service, selection and expertise. Having an eye exam and picking out glasses can be overwhelming for little kiddos as well as the parent the having excellent service provided helps ease the stress. Thank you!!!!!The Fuller Family

2022-07-26Upon arrival I was greeted and efficiently entered into the waiting area. Pertinent questions were asked concerning my medical history. I did wait in the waiting area for about 20 minutes prior to being seen. The technician was efficient and friendly while taking pictures of my eyes for the Doctor evaluate. The technician then took me to the exam room and did and initial eye evaluation and set up the pictures to assist the doctor. My eyes were not dilated as a new machine is used which did not required the dilation process. I appreciated that. Dr. Jamie King performed the exam and show me the difference between the new prescription and what my current glasses prescription. Everything was professional and efficient.

2022-08-04I needed to be seen for a reoccurring issue that no other optometrist in town seemed too concerned over. Every time I was seen, they all said it would clear up on its own. This was my first time to their office and I was greeted warmly. I felt at ease right away. All staff was very professional. We have a treatment plan in place and I am actually looking forward to my follow up appointment.Dr. King and her staff are a cut above the rest in the area. My entire family is switching providers.

2022-09-20Wonderful service! All the employees were very kind, and courteous. As was the doctor. I called to schedule an appointment which was scheduled a month or 2 away. I was asked if I wanted to be on a cancellation list and called if there were any cancellations in between that time. A week or so later I received a call and was scheduled for an appointment the following day. By far, the best eye care center Ive ever been to.

2022-03-16Very nice staff. The $35 fee for pictures of your eyes definitely should be optional, no other eye doctor office in Rockford makes you pay for it. It’s your choice. And they don’t let people know if there insurance is going to allow them to get a new pair of glasses before scheduling a appointment.

2022-08-02Very positive experience. The entire staff was pleasant.....from checking in to checking out.....the staff was helpful and nice. The exam was also very thorough. Really cool to see my eyes magnified so I can really see (ha! Made myself laugh!) how sadly bloodshot and dry they are. No worries....the team set me up with natural options other that Rx eye drops to cure my woes. I highly recommend their services!

2022-09-15Doctor seems nice enough, but if you’re looking for a place to get your eyes checked and leave, this place is not for you. My first visit with them they talked me into 4 different products and two additional eye checks that brought my bill to $235. None of which insurance covers, which means it’s all unnecessary. Not to mention the astronomical price of their glasses and contacts. With insurance it was still going to be $400 for glasses and $600-$900 for contacts. You can buy glasses online for $50, so where is that money even going? They “require” a retinal scan with each visit which, again, is not covered by insurance. What could be a $20 copay, ends up over doubling at $55 with the scan. They will not allow you to opt out of the retinal scan. If you inquire as to why you will be met with very rude office staff that refuse to give you a clear answer. If you ask to talk with the doctor about it you will be met with the same thing. I don’t understand why they would rather have no business from a whole family rather than some business, but that’s the impression that they gave me. I’ve had better experiences at Walmart, honestly, and I do not recommend this place.

2022-05-23Love being a patient here! Really good customer service and they make you feel super comfortable. Right when you walk in they greet you right away and make you feel so welcome. Love getting my glasses here as well they have different packages that will work better for you. Definitely will keep coming here!

2022-09-13This place is amazing! If you have a child who doesnt cooperate this is the place for you the staff is amazing and they have the tools to get the job done. I have 2 autistic kiddos and this is the only place I would go. They also had super good bundle deals for kids. I got $400 something worth for $150. Very pleased.

2022-08-16The most complete eye exam I have ever had. Dr King and Lauren were very thorough and gave me options that no other doctor has given me. Also the person who took all the initial tests. Sorry I forgot her name. I will definitely refer anyone I know to go here.
