I went to Dwight in March 2021 for honey colored highlights. When I went to the address his assistant gave me, I quickly found out that this was his private residence and not a salon. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt because we were in the middle of a pandemic. When I scheduled the appointment for 3pm, I let his assistant know I had a hard stop at 6, and I was ensured 3 hours would be plenty of time. I had an appointment for 3pm, and he did not come down to the lobby to get me for my appointment until 350pm. I ended up not being out until after 7pm, and that was only because I told him I had to leave at that exact moment. He still wasnt done, and I walked out with streaky, inconsistent highlights and in tears with soaking wet hair. I decided to give him a chance to correct the highlights two weeks later and things got even worse. While they werent streaky anymore, the color was completely inconsistent. There were patches of honey, reddish, orange, and platinum highlights in my hair. Even without all of that, I came for my appointment at 330pm, wasnt brought up until after 4pm, and didnt leave until almost midnight. No apologies, nothing. I think its safe to say Ill never return to Dwight.If you have curly hair and are looking to get any kind of color/highlights, Id definitely go somewhere else. I was luckily able to find a stylist who was able to correct what he did to my hair.

I love A Private Salon it is hard to find a salon in the Western suburbs if you dont use relaxer and wear your natural curl. Dwight is amazing with natural curly hair. When I started as a client I had a relaxer. I transitioned after pregnancy when my texture changed.Dwight helped me transition from relaxers and products that work well on my 4 a/b kinky relaxed hair to my new texture of 3 a/b natural hair. He is always learning and making time to continue his education and learn new styling techniques, color, and products for all types including natural hair. I found my three favorite products because of Dwight, Unwash Bio-Cleansing Conditioner and two from Moroccan Oil, Hydrating Styling Cream and Curl Re-Energizing Spray.Dwight is great takes the time to learn your hair - if you are a curly girl he is amazing. He loves what he does and it shows.

I love this salon! Dwight has been caring for & styling my hair for 25+ yrs. From curly to bone straight, from darkest brown to honey auburn with blonde highlights, believe me Ive had the full spectrum. No matter what styles I asked him to do, he always make sure the style fits me...a true talent! In the pic, I was going for the Veronica Lake hairstyle from the 40s, but this style is so much better for me.

Dwight is a master at not only listening to your request but creating the style and/or color that is the most attractive for you. The location is very convenient and the salon is attractive and comfortable.
